I rooted my HTC dream and after everything was done, I tried to download a theme on my phone. Everything worked fine until after I turned my phone on it was completely black, but my phone still gets incoming calls. I downloaded the original theme for my phone and put that back on and now the rings tones dont work. If you could help me out anyway that would be great.

Hey,
in the past couple of days my phone has just randomly shut off while I was using it (e-mailng). The screen will go blank and the green LED will stop blinking. I'm using HTCs latest room.
I called HTC support and they say I should send it in. Has anyone dealt with HTC repairs yet? I don't really feel like sending my phone in and then they can't do anything. I'm dependent on it.
Did anyone experience the same thing their phone? (random shut offs while using, not windows freezing)

My advice is dont send it in.
I had the same problem and i got it solved with a hard reset.
And while i was at resetting i though i'd upgrade to Gonzo's WM 6.1
Just do a hard reset or install gonzo's rom and you'll be fine.
Hi there, same problem here. Getting very annoying to type a message or try to dial a number and the damn thing shuts off. Doesnt happen all the time, maybe once a day or every other day. Have a updates skin on it from fireburned, not sure if that has any effect on it. On doing a hard reset, what will be lost on the phone so I know what to save first.

I have the same problem, I find it turns off in the middle of my calls. I think it might have something to do with the battery, because it doesn't seem to do it when it's plugged into a charger. I upgraded to Dr. Gonzo's WM 6.1, but that didn't fix the problem. Still happy that I upgraded though. Does any one have an idea of what's wrong?
I had the same problem, and tried several roms. Nothing helped. Then I flashed, so I had the newest radio etc. but that didnt help either...
I tried for a time not to install anything at all, but that didnt help, therefore I send it in to the repair shop. All they did was to hard reset it and send it back. Then I send it back and then they replaced the mainboard, and after that it works perfect...
But...
It might happend to your phone if you clock it to faster speeds. - But if your phone goes black without you installing any software then send it in.
if you hard reset, you will lose all your data, and you are going to restore all the settings to default
going to lose sms, mms, emial and stuff,
search somewhere in the forum , i've seen somewhere a great backup program but cant remember the name, you should try using it before hard reseting

i'm pretty new at this. i unlocked my phone way back over a year ago, but didn't do much other than add a bunch of programs and emulators. never flashed the rom....until yesterday night.
now i have IPL & SPL 3.08, Radio 2.71.11, OS 10.0.0.10 (i think) and flashed with SNN Diamond.
i'm having two problems (so far anyways):
1. bluetooth is not working right. i can connect to other phones. i can connect to the car bluetooth system and i can hear other people. but they can't hear me. this is a pretty big deal because i need to use bluetooth! how can i fix this problem?
2. this is not essential but it's annoying. when i hang up a call, i can't press "call" from the same screen (i.e. redial) because nothing will happen. it doesn't matter if i press the call button on screen or the actual hard button, the dialer wont call unless i go into phone book or history or otherwise enter the a number. just can't redial how do i fix this?
any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,
1. Try using other bluetooth device and make sure it is working in other device. Make sure "Receive all incomming beams" is ticked ( i.e Go to Start Manu -> Settings -> Connection Tab -> Click Beam and tick "Receive all incomming beams" then OK )
2. Use phone canvas. I think it takes mode memory but it is very good.

EDIT: so apparently my attempt at installing the skins from the link you gave me are not working (well, they dont show up) because i need to install phonecanvas first? i found the link on the forums and i'm trying to install the file but after taking a while installing it, it ends saying it was unsuccesful...can you help me with that?

Go to this link ( by MBarvian ), download and install.
Make your uninstall all the dialer skins if you have installed any..

well the problem is that file wont succesfully install.
i can't remove the dialer skin i have now because it was cooked into the ROM. there's no setting or option anywhere that i can find to remove it. frankly, i love the way it looks. so i'm going to stick with it for now and see if it's not totally unbearable.
if i see i really can't stand not being able to redial i'll get back to this thread. thanks for the help so far
Ok, so i have downloaded this build and put it on my htc hd2, and everything seemed to be working alright but during calls it is very hard to hear the other person and it has alot of static. It is like I do not have sound because when I receive a call it just vibrates and no sound. I have tried reformating the sd card and then doing it again, and also a factory reset. I put the hspl 2.08 on it because I had 2.10 before and it still has the problem. Does anyone know how this can be fixed?? I hate the windows on my phone and really want this android to work, help??
First of all, i dont know whether Ive messed the.phone up by flashing some.kinda rom ( the.S3 touchwiz rom) that were not flashable via CMW. If anyone is using Fring, or Qik, here's how I know my phone having problem.
Sometimes, when somebody calls me on Fring, I just slide to answer and it works well. However, if we keep calling eachother for more a few times, its.gonna freeze at the connecting screen. My phone gets freezed as well. No matter what I do, (press the Home.button, or power button ) it won't get closed. I takes at least more than 5 min to get out of the connecting from Fring. But when this happens, my phone is like automatically restarted (even.though it doesnt fully do the restart. No turning off at all)
And if I dont do the fully restart, when i get on Fring and make a video call again, this will keep happening. As long as I restart my device. Everything works fine. (I tried reinstalling Fring when this happens, but nothing changed. I HAve to restart the device).
So i dont know.if the problem comes from my device, or from Fring. IM RUNNING ICS.

I have installed Ultimate Call Screen ID on my android phone....the problem is...my phone does not ring when using the Ultimate Call Screen...Initially it rings once or twice but thereafter phone goes completely silent..all the other sounds work perfectly but no ringtone on incoming calls.... I have tried various versions of the application but the same issue....... Any One Please help me out....
Witch android OS do u have? Try to download .apk from Play Market. If u got problem then try to find .apk in Internet download it and install on phone.
I have android 2.2........tried out all the versions of the program.....even from the market and other sources......no one seems to work on my phone ... ZTE Amigo.........so far no solutions come to forth....i need help...desperately....
