Birthday issue (1 day shifted) - General Questions and Answers

Hello everybody,
I have an issue with my HTC Diamond and my contact's birthday date!
On MS Outlook 2003 (french release), birthday is ok (ie : 20 Oct. 79).
On the Diamond, it appears to be shifted 1 day in the past (ie : 19 OCt. 79)
Both PC & PDA are on the same time fuse (GMT+1 Paris), the date is the same, and the time is also the same !
I'm lost and it's driving me crazy... I already saved my contacts on the PC, then delete all of them in Outlook, the sync, and delete the sync parameters in PDA & PC, and import them back, but still not working.
Does someone already had the same problem ?
Regards

Sync time is decided by outlook's time preferences, not by the default cpu clock.
try to change the calendar's time to meet your requirements.

I already checked, and outlook calendar time is matching with both PC and PDA's.
So it seems the problem is not there

Might be a "daylight saving time" setting, not sure where to change it though...
edit; oops, thats only an hour difference, not a day, sorry

a workaround for this can be..
1. open outlook
2. go to tools/options/calendar options/time zone/change calendar time zone
3. change the time zone to fit the delay
this should change all your appointments..
but maybe you should go thru all calendar options over there to see you didn't miss anything

Time changes on Wizard when I connect with activesync 4.5

time on device changes back an hour when connecting to Active Sync 4.5b
>> using Xplore 1.1 WM6 ROM and activesync 4.5b, ticked off 'update date and time' in AS. MS DST patch ok on XP desktop
guest connection is fine but as soon as i create partnership the devices time goes back an hour on every connect.
The horrid thing is I wiped my calendar on exchange! HOW you ask
- all event times were off 1 hour on device
- changed device time manually - no luck
- used sk tools to wipe calendar
- AS sync - wiped calendar from exchange- no PST backup
so i learned that AS is crap and has no setting to let outlook rule etc. and that you have to delete partnership first in this case!
PISSED
update - seems like it's keeping the time on the device now but calendar appts are an hour behind on the device.
I was using WM6 'The Real Thing' rom prior (post DST)and did not have this problem.
fixed. chabnged from 0-5 GMT bogota to -5 GMT eastern US- funny

Faria - The Real Thing --> problem with contacts, calendar, date

well, congrats Faria! real good stuff!
But, i bought my PDA so i can have my calendar/contacts with me all the time and up to date and im not getting that...
first let me describe the problem:
1 - Contacts sincronize but the birthdays are all mixed (birthday from "ana" goes to "antonio" and bday from "antonio" goes to "jose" and so on)
2 - Calendar just dont sincronize or takes forever (several entries on OUT 2003 some day appoint, and birthdays that repeat every year)
3 - Date keeps changing random (doesnt takes the PC date/hour or any other date/hour that is configured)
tried these sugested fixes (from other posts):
- Hard reset after aplying regional settings and sync after that. (didnt work with neither problems)
- Sync only contacts (didnt resolve anything)
- remove "today Agenda" before sync (same)
- Remove the "enable advanced network functionality" from "usb to pc" (still a disapointment)
i really need some help, and from the forums, some other people have the same problem.
from monday until today, i reseted the device about 6 times and didnt resolve the problems...
i will be waiting for the resolution...
btw: i had the wm6 underground with no prob like this one...
thanks in advance!
Hi, I had a problem with synching the calendar entries when first using this ROM, it was resolved by going into settings "Clocks & Alarms" then changing the time zone to anything other than what it is already set on and then changing back to the setting you want. Hope it works.

Click to collapse
well, i did it and...it worked!
here it goes how i did it:
- in clocks, puted the "home and visiting" with the same date (i dont know if this matters)
- changed the "home" date to some other gmt and closed clock settings
- entered clock and changed back to the real gmt setting.
- sync as i wanted!
edde: thanks for the help!

Time is always WRONG and there is no DST in Brisbane..

Hi all, I got my Touch Pro few days ago, and one thing that bothers me alot is the time is WRONG!
I've set the timezone on my phone as GMT+10 Brisbane where there is no daylight saving apply. However, as soon as I connect the phone to my computer, it automaticlly +1 Hour, It is now displaying GMT+11 time, even if there is DST, it should be GMT+9 rather than GMT+11. Appointments that sync from PC to WM are all +1 hour too, IE if i keep using the wrong time, I'll still be right with appointments... WTF... eg. Current time is 10 and flight is 12, my phone actually displays as Current time is 11 and flight is 1pm! ROFL.
I've tried to install WMDST2008-1.CAB and update my outlook with Outlook Timezone Move.exe and still no sucess on the issue.
Can any one help?
Go into ActiveSync, Tools | Options.
Highlight your PC sync name, click Settings, then untick to sync date and time
search

Active sync issue (change made on server require re-sync)

Heya, This is my first winmo device (HTC Raphael [aka HTC Fuze for At&T]) ever and I'm having an abominably annoying time with active sync for wm6.1
every once in a while when I plug my phone in for syncing, I get this error that says:
Result:
There has been a change made on your server that requires you to re-synchronize all items on your device. Please perform a manual sync.
Support Code: 0x80883001
Last synchronized:
Last attempt:
I don't know what in the hell is wrong with active sync, but I do know that everytime it does this re-synchronization, I end up having to re-add all my contacts on the People tab on my TF3D interface AND I lose all the custom ring tone assignments for everyone. Is there a way I can make this stop. It's obscenely annoying and I hate active sync with a passion of a million burning suns.
help please?
The only times I've seen this message or a similar one, is when I try to sync with my laptop when I travel and it has a different time than my phone. For example, my laptop is one hour behind the phone time or the other way arround. Fixing the time settings has solved this for me in the past. Though I don't know how would this impact your contacts...
PS,
I hate it too...
The odd thing is, it happens very randomly and I have no idea why the change is there and why it screws with tf3d's favorite ppl tab and assigned ringtones, but it's annoying as all hell.
do you sync outlook calendar items?
I believe I do. I'll try changing something on the computer then sync it and see if the message comes up. otherwise I'll do the opposite and see if that's the issue.
I found out that after adding an event into my calendar via the fuze, active sync will display the above mentioned message and proceed to erase all my contacts in the "People" tab as well as all ringtones associated to all the callers on my contact list.
Help please?
Who do I have to make love to here to get some help?
p.s I'm a very kinky person irl
lol. we're trying to help everyone...
alright, which operating system are you using?
(are you female?)
I'm using Windows Vista
(I can be any gender you like, I don't do S&M though)XD
HELLO
HELLo
HELlo
HEllo
Hello
hello
Here is some more info for you. Says something creating outlook subfolders on the desktop w/o syncing first. Anyway, seems like this is the problem you are describing.
http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/.../thread/161c69c7-eba5-4909-8b2d-0212b5309c41/
I was actually browsing that exact thread. The problem is that I haven't made any folders under outlook. The only thing I did was to add an event into the calendar. Suppose I have an appointment next week say, Monday February 2nd. I go to my fuze and set the appointment via the calenda soft tab. From there, I later sync the fuze to my computer (Vista) and then the error message comes up.
Any attempts to delete the partnership and then recreate a new one will simply just erase all the people I have under the "Peoples" tab on my TF3d Interface. I'd also like to note that all the ringtones that I have assigned for specific contacts also get erased.
honestly, i can't think of anything...
I'd hard reset if i were you
and if you're using vista, you should try to use WMDC 6.1 instead of activesync
WMDC? is it an alternative to syncing?
Sorry, This is indeed my first windows mobile phone so I have very little grasp on various WM softwares and such.
That microsoft forum thread mentions some suggestions to compact your Outlook pst file and check it for errors. If you are syncing to an Outlook pst file, then I would disable the cache mode option in Outlook, make a backup of the pst file, check it for error / repair and compact it to see if that helps.
hihi...lol
i have this error...
win2k
officexp
htc touch diamond2
:-(
If it was my type of problem as in everything gets wiped out and replaced back in (therefore screwing up the tf3d peoples tab.. then I found the answer..
when sync your phone, you are asked what to do if there are conflicts. I misread it and chose replace on device... It should be replace on desktop. Basically I told it that if there was a conflict, to replace everything on my device rather than on my desktop.. now that I changed that, i haven't had that problem.. at all.
''repllog.exe''error
hi guys,
i m facing the problem when i connect mobile via sync it shows error
''can not exute repllog.exe''
plz help me.
thx.

Appointments shifted up an hour after Daylight Savings

I was checking my appointments after this weekend, and noticed that they were all shifted up an hour. This includes reoccurring ones. I have an AT&T Fuze. Is there a way to fix this? Do I need to fix this, or will it correct itself once the time changes this weekend?
Thanks
Your appointments adjust with your clock so that if you are traveling into different time zones so that everything will still "occur" at the same time.
Ok, outlook calendar syncs appointments according to the outlook settings and not the PC's clock settings
go to outlook's calendar options and to the timezone options and try changing them to fit your needs.
i was under the impression it only shifted the appointment times if the clock was set on the "visiting" zone, it shouldnt alter the time of appointments if time zone is set to "home".......
I have the same problem. As soon as DST hit (which was yesterday) and my phone adjusted for DST, all my appointments moved forward by one hour. How do we fix it?? I would love to know. Thanks!
I had the problem with appointments shifting one hour forward after the Daylight Saving Time took place yesterday. I am using the Outlook at home and Groupwise in the office. After I sync FUZE with the Groupwise through PortaMail, all appointments are back to the originally scheduled times. I believe that this should work when syncing with the Outlook as well.
I thought you meant it was a syncing problem.
it only happens when timezones are changed?
So what if I use a mac lol? Am I just screwed?
