there's a service in my service provider (etisalat) that when u call some1, after finishing the call, u receive a little info _i don't know wt its called_ that tells u the cost of ur call and ur remaining balance
that service works in all phones even old nokias and samsungs, but doesn't work in windows mobile 5 or 6. I think is somethng in the stk service cause when i open the Etisalat icon in the programs list and try to know my balance, it shows me some gibberish words
is there a solution for that ?
BTW, in my friend's magician with WM2003, this little info message appears after every call on top of the screen

Hi, with my provider i have the same type of info after each call i made,
and it work under wm5&6 showing a baloon on top, maybe it's only a language problem with charset ? wm2k3 is the same language as yours ?
Is your STK service running?
its not a language thing .. i use a WWE rom
and yes stk is running
It's releted to USSD service.
You can check your registry. Use a registry editor, like regedit, there's a function to find keys, value... Write USSD and check for these keys.
Excuse me, but I don't have a UNI anymore. I had one until one year ago, then I can't be much precise. Anyway, I remember that I've fixed a problem releted to this in my roms for Toshiba G900. In that case I had a registry key, like "suppressUSSD" setted to "1". Then, any time it suppressed USSD service. And on G900 was a big problem, becouse many times a soft-reset was needed.
I hope this can help, bye
thank u davide
i'll give that a try

"Index"=dword:00000004
"Keep"=dword:00000001
"Order"=dword:00000008
"Prefix"="APP"
and add a new dword value to disable all ussd messages from carrier
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Phone]
"SuppressUSSD"=dword:00000001
if can helps....

I would like to install some software that identify a sms alert sent to my phone.
When my phone is turned off and someone call me, when i turn on my phone a sms alert is sent to me with a message telling: <NUMBER 000000> called you at <date>. I had installed a software that change the number for a name if I it was in my agenda. But I did a hardreset and i dont have any idea where I can find this software, and I dont know the software name. Please help...
Thanks so much.
There is no software like that, but there is a service like that. You can register that service from your mobile operator.
yeah programs cant access the phone network which is where sms's live when the phone is off
Ok, I see. I had this service registred in my operator.
I want a software to show me the name of the person that called me.
Its so hard explain in English
When someone call me and my phone is off, they send me a msg like it: YOU RECEIVED A CALL FROM 1230987667409 AT 07/04/2007.
So I want a software that check if i have this numbem in my agenda and show the name beside number, like it: YOU RECEIVED A CALL FROM (FABIO GAMER)1230987667409 AT 07/04/2007.
Was I clear? I dont think so, but please, try help me.

Tap on the signal icon on top of the screen (between volume and sync icon), then tap on services and select "voice and text messages". wait... and now change the number to which you need.
Note that depending to your operator you may need to write the number with or without the country and area code...
this is also about messaging problem :
why is that everytime I got a new SMS, then suddenly the battery went dead, ... the new sms is GONE ??
any solution for that ?
pls help...
thx
Hello !
I used this USSD command #30# which deactivates the caller id function and it worked.
The command to reactivate caller id is *30# but this one is rejected (false command or not accepted by provider ..?).
The command to check the status of the caller id function is *#30#. It works and says "service deactivated".
So I m stuck with no called ir for over a year now !
What I don't understand is that USSD are network commands, so how could be it tied to my windows mobile 6.1 LG KS20 phone ? Because finally CALLER ID works in another device with same sim card !
This confuses me !
Anyone has a solution (registry, what ever except hard reset) please ?
And for the nerd part, an explanation ?
nota: my provider is french SFR (Vodafone).
Any help please ?
mm this aint gonna get an answer immediately, i will have to have a dig round and get back to you..
Thank you.
Any info about it ?
When you say no ID do you mean it becomes Private Caller?
Yes, phone number of caller never appears anymore...
Try *30#

Those are only for outgoing.
The OP is having trouble with the incoming.
@OP Sorry didn't notice you already tried that.
So if it's bound to a specific device I a tempted to say:
Have you checked your registry settings?
I'll try to find out if I can duplicate this.
Only thing I could duplicate is: #30# will disable and *30# does enable..

I have a big problem with my newly bought HTC Trophy. The caller ID does not seem to work correctly. All my contacts have the country code prefix for all the numbers (+47 or 0047 here in Norway). When I receive a call the caller name is not shown, only the number. But if I remove the country code, the caller name is shown. But then all the text messages I receive, shows only the senders number and not the name. How do i fix this?? This is a big problem for me.
I've tried switching the Internation assist on, no good. Please help

I was going to say post in Microsoft answers but i see you already have lol
Hehe Yes I have, and apparently there's a lot of issues with this from other countries as well. This is such a fundamental thing to be working so I'm suprised Microsoft doesnt have an offical saying in this..
For now, I cannot use my phone, I REALLY have to be able to know who's calling before I decide if I gonna answer or not..
Stupid MS, apart from this I'm actually very happy with the my first WP7 device.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=907971
use the callerid fix
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Phone]
"CallIDMatch"=dword:7
where the dword is the number of digits in your phone number, less the country code
eg, singapore uses 8 digits, +6512345678, so it's
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Phone]
"CallIDMatch"=dword:8

for me
i tried it yesterday, it does work
Thanx, that was what I'm looking for
How do I unlock my phone to be able to edit the registry entries?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=938106
install the developer tools
install zune
install certificate
set phone to airplane mode
connect to zune
run chevronwp7
unlock
then install registry editor from touchxperience website

Same HTC 7 Mozart user here in Malaysia, doesn't have the called ID issue...
The count should be like this:
+60
123456789
so, 9 should work for you, remember to restart your phone after the reg applied.
I cant find where to post this, this website changed so much, but it was on my new s22 ultra so....
I got a call from "NONE" the 'number' beneath it was "NN".
No voice on the other side, and I attempted to called back. Then my phone popped up a little message near the bottom of the screen... "USSD Code Running."
It kinda freaked me out. What does that mean?
Do a Google search on "USSD Code Running". A lot of info comes up.
oh my...
Which code was it?

I've seen this kind of behavior when I've had the phone in my front pocket, and I happened to be sweating. The sweat carried the electrical signals in my skin through the pocket liner (I'm no scientist, just my running theory) to the screen and thus, randomly unleashing all sorts of weird mayhem and shenanigans.
It's either that or gremlins.........
Happened again, check the recording
Probably just a harmless rootkit...
For whatever reason it's probably just the way that phone responds to some unknown numbers with no caller ID. I block unknown numbers, try that.
Freaky.
Can you block the call?
I don't call back unknown numbers.
Off topic -
Noticed that Samsung added a feature in Samsung Messaging that allows users to block e-mail messages.
its an Aliens
It is mostly likely a SPAM caller. There are automatic dialing apps that can either spoof a number, or completely hide the number, which makes it difficult to block.
I'm have Verizon and it has a Call Filter app. Check with your provider if it has a call filter app. You can also find third party call filtering apps.
Unfortunately, dealing with SPAM and scam calls is a game of Wack-a-mole.

It just dialed NN corresponding to 66 which triggered a USSD code.

Yeah...don't call those kinds of numbers back. If something like that comes up, or you get a blocked number. Let it go to voicemail. If they leave a voicemail, fine. If not, don't call it back.
It is possible someone was trying to run a Smishing scam on you. With the aim to hijack your SIM and take over your phone service account. Depending on your carrier, the USSD code could trigger your device to do something you don't want it to do.

I do it short and quick :
The mobile Phone number of your simcard
Has now call forwarding active to the Hackers Server (ussd MUST bei activated by the victim/target. Hacker need the victim to call a 10 Digits number that will Route to His Server)
Its a curently Well known Hack ... (Thus Person was smart enough to hide His 10 Digits number ... Well played good trap)
What the attacker wants... example :
Get into all your Accounts that are secured with YOUR PHONE NUMBER
...WhatsApp Google ... An E-Mail Account ? Etc etc
So...
I dont believe IT was random Attack.
Someone who know how or someone who ordered this
Knows you ... And need to dive into your privates
(thats childplay Hacking from YouTube nothing unknown or hard to do)
Good News : Sometimes ...someone Else is "the target" .... So the attacker needs informations Out of your device and apps....to get information about the Others real Targets Phone number ... in that Case your device/Accounts need to be Hacked or hooked or jacked ....
If your simcard is older than 5-8 years ...Hmmm
Maybe the simcard still use [email protected] browser. (A Browser placed inside your simcard)
Get rid of such a simcard too. Better Sirius lee
Change ur simcard Phone number for ur savety.
But
do it by EVEN changing the mobile Network Provider. (Best in Case If u have an old jackable simcard)
Sad fact : If the Hacker has enough informations from your simcard u need to Change the Provider. Because ... Your Provider maybe gives u a Brand new simcard ... With a new number that u ordered (the Service to Change Phone number to a new one) ... But ... The new number ist the only Thing what Changed all other leaked informations will stay the same as an act of keeping your customer number in the customer Care systems.
U need new customer number or Change the Provider + new number
My Tip: Use a Landphone number as a WhatsApp number ^^ need to recieve calls to activate the new WhatsApp Account so No Premium SMS Hack possible.... its More save
And ... U can start new the new start is : never leak ur simcards original mobile Phone number. Not in those days. Use the original simcard Phone number to Order pizza or a taxi. Give IT to No one and u dont need to Clean everything... Like u need to do NOW

Jupp thats so obvious ... The trap was better than call the target and please the Person to dial the number that activates the call forwarding Code that waits on a Server
Sim jacking needs the [email protected] Browser in the simcard. Needs to be an old one. Network Provider dont sell new regular simcards with the [email protected]
And dave wouldnt know that an invisible SMS with Codes reached his SMS Inbox :/
No need to call him in that case ... Just send the right prepared SMS and Game over
