Tap on the signal icon on top of the screen (between volume and sync icon), then tap on services and select "voice and text messages". wait... and now change the number to which you need.
Note that depending to your operator you may need to write the number with or without the country and area code...
this is also about messaging problem :
why is that everytime I got a new SMS, then suddenly the battery went dead, ... the new sms is GONE ??
any solution for that ?

Tried to search this but could not find anything. I was wondering if there is any way to change the settings in Contacts to have more than 1 mobile number instead of Work Fax or Work Number?
I know it's easier to just input it as another but when I am sending a SMS and I type the name, it would automatically pul the mobile number.

People please help me im a new to Windows Mobile 6.0 Tr-Sync Edition. When i open Contact, then open menu and goto options, there is a text box labeled Area Code. Which are code should i give there? My country Code, City Code, or my service provider code i.e i have jazz so r no.s start with 0300.... so should are code be 300. Default area code is 455. Please Help Me!!!!

This will be the local code(city code)
I would suggest you to leave it empty. You can key in your area code in each of your contacts number (e.g. use full area code + number for all contacts).
Mine is empty, works well.

When i left mine empty it said that "the address ur sending msg to is incorrect. Should i send the msg?" if i select yes it sends the msg and msg reaches the destination and i get the delivery report but the error msg it shows that's annoying.

And it works if you leave it as 455? And, you said "address" for your message, do you mean email or SMS/MMS? Need more info. Did you put in your destination phobe number in full? e.g. everything except the country code, and/or try putting in the country code as well.

When i use 455 or 300 it works and when i leave it empty or use our city code 042 it's gives that error message. When i enter the recipent name in the msg box i enter it from the contacts and without country code, it just has the operator code e.g 0300xxxxxxx, 0300 is Jazz(Mobile Service Provider) code and xxxxxxx represent the phone no. And i'm talking abt SMS/MMS not email.
Seems fine.. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the SMS center's number. Go
Start -> Settings -> Phone -> Services (bottom tab) -> Voice Mail and Text Messages -> Get Settings
Check the number on Text messages service center (e.g. with/without country code, but it is the FULL phone number).
I'm not sure about your telco.. but you may check this number using another persons phone (with the same telco) or probably they have it listed on their website.

I have checked my Message center no. It's correct and it's with country code and it's country code format is without + it has 00 instead of + e.g it's not +92 it's 0092. And as far as voice mail is concerned i have inserted no voice mail number there, the box is left empty.
I am not statisfied!!!
I dont know why my heart isnt satisfied with WM 6.0 Tri-Sync Edition can anybody tell me this too that which of the WM 6.0 ROM is best.

Thats the worst way to end a threat. Some others came in, saw that you have the same problem as they have, and (possibly) after millions of posts reading.. they dont get an answer. Sigh.
there's a service in my service provider (etisalat) that when u call some1, after finishing the call, u receive a little info _i don't know wt its called_ that tells u the cost of ur call and ur remaining balance
that service works in all phones even old nokias and samsungs, but doesn't work in windows mobile 5 or 6. I think is somethng in the stk service cause when i open the Etisalat icon in the programs list and try to know my balance, it shows me some gibberish words
is there a solution for that ?
BTW, in my friend's magician with WM2003, this little info message appears after every call on top of the screen

Hi, with my provider i have the same type of info after each call i made,
and it work under wm5&6 showing a baloon on top, maybe it's only a language problem with charset ? wm2k3 is the same language as yours ?
Is your STK service running?
its not a language thing .. i use a WWE rom
and yes stk is running
It's releted to USSD service.
You can check your registry. Use a registry editor, like regedit, there's a function to find keys, value... Write USSD and check for these keys.
Excuse me, but I don't have a UNI anymore. I had one until one year ago, then I can't be much precise. Anyway, I remember that I've fixed a problem releted to this in my roms for Toshiba G900. In that case I had a registry key, like "suppressUSSD" setted to "1". Then, any time it suppressed USSD service. And on G900 was a big problem, becouse many times a soft-reset was needed.

Hello guys.. just upgrade my dear Tornado with WM6.1 CE OS 5.2.20282.19597 for Tornado with Neo Style English Version V1! and i'm experience problems sending SMS, i mean, my fone don't send SMS...

I think it is a bug in that rom, more users (including me) have experienced it. I have switched to another rom.
perhaps ur phone cannot recognize messege center number through which it can use the SMS service. You can get messege center number from your network helpline and manually enter it. You may also need to disable GSM over GPS or GPRS over GSM option
You can't change msg center number because of the bug in the rom
So Ive been using my HTC Ozone (6.5 Standard, 3VO rom) for a while in israel, and the way the cellular network works is as follows:
country code is +972
the number that shows up on an incoming call is 052-555-5555.
The number that shows up on an incoming text is +972-52-555-5555.
The number that shows up on an outgoing call when dialing without the country code (aka 052-555-5555) is +972-052-555-5555.
All of these differences mean that if I have a number saved in the contact manager (in only one of the above forms), it isnt displayed 2/3rds of the time. If i send a text to ME(052-555-5555), the reply comes back from an unsaved number, in a new thread is +972-52-555-5555.
Is there a way for me to just save the base number (052-555-5555), and have the phone's contact manager realize that its the same number is the +92 equivalent? My current workround is saving all the forms of a number to a contact, but 1. its tedium to go through all my contacts and do this, and 2. you can only save so many numbers to a contact, which means im screwed if the contact has two different numbers.
I see all these fields in the "current country" setting, but I have no idea what they mean, or if that is even the solution.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
hey , i got the same problem on my Omnia 2 with windows mobile version 6.5
The local incoming call won't show the country code, and sms does the opposite way.
check through all my phone setting, can not find any related option for this.

i just resolved my problem. hope this way can help you as well.
get a regedit software on your windows mobile phone.
go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER/ControlPanel/Phone
under it, you should able to see a key name "CallIdMatch", change the value to maybe 8 or 9, which means it will match the last 8 or 9 numbers for each incoming call or sms. (use decimal) after the changing, reboot your phone.
