Radio problem - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro ROM Development

After solving the NO GSM problem, unlocking the CID (whit HTC_Universal_Radio_for_SIMunlock_v0.00.00).
I have flashed the new rom and radio, everything was ok (making calls, internet, etc), until next morning!!!!
This is not the first time. After flashing everything is ok, next morning NO GSM.
Can someone help me on this problem?
Tanks,

Radio test?? Help here please
My universal is crazy. Now, sometimes the radio appears on the splash screen and I have phone, sometimes is NO GSM and no phone.
Is there any way to test the RADIO, maybe whit MTTY. I need to know if it's broken for ever so I can quit solving this problem.
Thanks,
Rui Rego

Have you tried flashing to a different ROM and radio?

how about to cleaning your pin hardware, i mean the pin at the slot for sim card. and cleaning the surface of your sim card too. hope it work.

Have you tried a different SIM? (Just to make sure it is the UNI).

MTTY
Hi,
There are a few basic tests you can run for the radio stack in MTTY.
Details are in the Wiki, but I'll post them here for you too.
Code:
[B]
rtask command[/B]
rtask seems to accept either just a type, or a value. (two hex arguments)
type possible values description
0 ? Resets radio
1 ? tells you to use 3 or 4 instead
2 ? Turn radio off
3 ? Runs radio image
4 ? Runs radio bootloader
7 ? Allows you to debug AT commands.
a ? Talk to GSM bootloader.
b ? Radio AT Command Debug. Talk to GSM AT cmd interface.
I would also advise trying a DOC format and complete ReFlash, it may be that the DOC has become corrupted and thus fails to load the radio stack.
Cheers,
Beasty

Thanks Rui

I didn´t did that but my SIM is new. Besides that, the problem is that on the splash screen it says NO GSM, with or without the SIM, so I think that it's not related to the SIM. When everything is ok, I had the RADIO version on the splash screen without the SIM.
Thanks
Rui
PS-maybe this is the end of my UNI...I think the next will be the iPhone

Welcome to the forum
I assume that you already read the Wiki right?
Le us know what you already done

Hi.
Yes, I've read all about it, but I sill can't find a solution.
I've done pretty much everything.
I’ve tried to flash it with all kinds of radios. Same thing again – Progress 0%, Error 114. (I can flash it just with OS roms). So I’ve downloaded the service manual and I rip the unit apart, clean it and same thing happens again – No GSM.
MTTY - > D2S command works but shows Operation not allowed.
I’ve downloaded the Uni Sim Unlocker to remove the SuperCID but when I run it on the device nothing happens. And I think that I’ve already done that in the past.
Here is the log from the RUU. (I’m trying to flash just the radio)

It is clear that the device is CID locked.
1. Download SIM unlock tool
2. Flash the SIM unlocked Radio (v.0.00) using MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe
3. Hardreset your device
4. Copy the UNI_Unlock_v1.exe to your SD and run it...
regards

I've already tried that. I can’t flash radios, even RADIO v 0.00.00. The 114 error appears again when I try to flash it, so i can't CID unlock it that way. Any ideas?

I have the same damn problem!
I could use some help please!

In my case (Italy) the solution was to change network selection to manual.

HTC Beetles (HW6515) radio firmware corrupted, need help

Hi!
I asked this question first on another board, but XDA-Dev is for me the best board when it come to hard question.
So here's the problem : I think I messed up my device while trying to flash it with a french rom.
I edited the rom and swaped the headers with Hexedit from the english roms to the french roms in :
RadioFS.nbf
RadioOS.nbf
CEOS.nbf
EXTROM.nbf
But here's the problem... while flashing the device, the RadioOS is stuck at 0.1%.
If I remove the RadioOS.nbf & RadioFS.nbf from the hpRUU.ini then it flash the unit, and everything is ok except that I cannot active the Radio (cell phone), it lookup the device.
Here's what I see from the Asset Viewer:
Radio Present : Yes
Radio Firmware Version :
Radio Protocol Stack Version :
Radio Bootloader Version :
Radio File System Version :
Default Radio GDFS Version :
I've tried to reflash the device with bigrom, but no luck, it just flash CEOS.nbf & EXTROM.nbf.
Finally, if I try to flash de device from windows with the ROM12132Beta (with activesync disabled) I get an Error 514 message : device failed verification. So I hacked the rom to get it to flash (with hexedit I replaced the 3 letter language with blank space) but it get stuck at 1.0%.
So do you know if there's is a way to force the flashing of the RadioOS.nbf & RadioFS.nbf? (maybe directly from the SD card?)
Thank you very much in advance!!
Please anybody has a little idea?
Because since this is a US device and I'm in Canada I'm not covered by the warranty, so I'm really screwed. I understand this is an HP device, but it is manufactured by HTC and I'm sure that if there's a place where there's people that know well the HTC devices, it's here.
I have the same problem. I'm going to use a sd card to reflash my HW6515. Did u solve the problem?
Not really... I sent it back for repair...
Not really great because this mean I'm 2 months without my PDA

Can't upgrade OS BUT phone is unlocked!

So I been trying to upgrade my OS to the tnt 1437, however every time I try my old OS keeps popping up (OS: 5.1.xxx (Build 15671FARIA.3.5)) ... so for the last 3 days I been trying to search this site for any answers, however all I get is that only happens if the CID is locked, but my phone isn't 1) I unlocked it before to upgrade it in the first place to the above mentioned OS and 2) I checked its status with the Wizard Service Tool (which is AWESOME). So i'm at a lose here as to why every time I either upgrade or downgrade the ROM the same OS keeps showing up. BTW Everything else I can upgrade except the OS. Any help is appreciated. thanks!
Anyone? Anything?
Did you remember what version of IPL and SPL when you unlock your Wizard? It is only unlockable when IPL and SPL is 1.xx (i.e. Downgrade to Button's ROM first). You may post your WST log here for more chance to know what the problem is.

Yes I tried both the button ROM and the love ROM with no change ... On another note I can change the IPL and the SPL with no trouble however the OS always stays the same.
Not the love or button - the original carrier ROM, either T-Mobile or Cingular.
Have you tried doing a hard reset, and then flash to the T-Mobile ROM from a different computer?

I just tried what you mentioned however I got the following error when I was doing the ROM update .... fyi I got it from the tmobile site ... when I ran the rom update I got:
error [326]: invalid command
this nbf file cannot be used for your pda phone. please check your nbf file.
It looks like you originally skipped the 2.26 rom. I did the same thing the first time I flashed a rom. Try flashing back down to the Button rom, then to the 2.26, then the tnt 1437. It worked for me.
Am I doing something wrong here cause every time I try some downgrade its always the same OS that shows up ... 3.3.0.0 that NEVER changes, everything else does.
i have the same problem..

What OS does your phone boot with?
bad flash rom, you need junk the phone or donate to XDA-developers
first take out the sd card.then flash your phone with buttons 1.0 rom.hardreset. then flash it again with buttons rom. unlock the device totaly with the unlock software. hardreset. flash with original t-mobile us 2.26 rom
halfway above 80% pull the usb plug. the phone get stuck and the update program will tell you it doesnt respond. reset the phone (little hole on the side) you will see the 3 color screen . now restart the 2.26 update and when
you get at the part that it starts looking for the phone connect it. sometimes
it just works , sometimes you need to try a few times.. it wont ruin the phone
as i had this many times due to a crashing computer. wjen its done do a hardreset and install the rom you wanted.
hope this helps you guys

Major help needed upgrading to WM6

Hello and good afternoon, I'm a beginner and i've read a whole lot and decided today i'd take the plung and upgrade my qtek9100 to wm6,current status of my phone=NOT WORKING(sorta).
Rom version = 1.1.7.5
Rom Date = 9/22/05
Radio version= 01.01.10
Protocol ver = 4.0.13.16
ExtROM Ver = 1.1.7.105
downloaded TNT 1437 Series Pro+home and i ran the upgrade (oh my phone was brought unlocked) all was going fine it went to 99% then exit with communication error, i followed the recovery info and tried again and again, then i tried 3 other ROMs and still the same error occurs, my phone is now stuck at the 3 color bars from the recovery process and it wont upgrade to wm6.. update i then downloaded XDA_Mobile_6_r2a_Lite and installed it and all went fine, the thing is this isnt a wm6 it's wm5 so i'm back to where i started.. can anyone please tell me what i've done wrong and how i should go about getting my phone upgraded to wm6, i actually want to use the TNT roms..

Wm6 Roms can only be upgraded if you have an IPL/SPL 2.xx,as I can see from your present Rom version 1.1.7.5,you must be having IPL/SPL 1.xx,therefore,it's not possible to upgrade to wm6,untill and unless you upgrade your phone to IPL/SPL 2.xx.
First flash T-mobile 2.26 to upgrade to 2.xx and then flash any wm6 rom.
Good luck
be sure that unlock means both "cid and sim" unlock, because sometimes it is network unlocked only, you can use your device with different networks using different simcards, to flash a rom you need the device cid unlocked, read the guides
Hi , thanks for the reply, i must mention that my phone is a QTek 9100 please tell me if the T-mobile 2.26 will install on my phone. if it can please can u give me a download link to it.. I've been searching the site but i haven't found any..

Are u sure your phone is CID unlocked? use the wizard service tool to be sure. U can download the t-mobile ROM here: http://www.t-mobile.com/wmupgrade/ You need to have a t-mobile phone number. If u dont know any, PM me, and ill let u use mine, u dont have to pay, its just to make sure that ur a t-mobile customer.

XM6R2a is NOT wm5...if you "installed" it and you are still on wm5 then your phone is NOT cid unlocked which is probably what the communication error (302?) was trying to tell you in the first place. Follow the "how to flash a wizard" guides that are a sticky at the top of the forum.
Hey thanks to everyone who have been offering information, my progress so far, i've CID unlocked my phone and i reinstalled the pro+home wm6 and all is working, except i cant use my camera, cause i dont have enough memory as is replied by the os, i'm going to try the t-mobile updated as pointed out in a previous post.

HardSPL and HTC TyTN II with 1.93.0000 SPL ?

Hello all,
I have been reading xda-developer forums for a last couple of weeks, but I didn't managed to find a "proof" that someone succeded in installing hardSPL on a TyTN II device with SPL-1.93.0000, and successfully flashed one of 6.1 ROMs.
I have HTC branded TyTN II (NOT locked to any network SIMs - tried with 3 different SIMs from 3 different operators and they work) with following information:
ROM version: 1.56.405.5
ROM date: 08/28/07
Radio version: 1.27.12.32
Protocol version: 22.45.88.07H
CE OS 5.2.1620 (Build 18125.0.4.2)
Soft-reseting device with cammera button pressed (NO USB connection - cable not connected to PC) leades me to a tri-color screen which shows:
KAIS130
SPL-1.93.0000
CPLD-8
and a text "Serial" on the screen.
My question is: is there anyone who managed to install HardSPL on a device with same SPL 1.93.000 and with what tools (HardSPL, JumpSPL, SSPL .... )?
Also, does anyone have this version of original (shipped) ROM - it seems that there are (very) similar ROMs around, but I didn't manage to find exactly the same version ?
Thanks for any help on this.

I am sorry I do not remember the SPL version I had originally, however it seems most problems experienced seem to be related to the device not being detected correctly by the PC when in TriColor screen mode.
If you are using Vista the above problem seems all too frequent.
I did not have any problems the first few times, Vista worked just fine but then one day I started having problems and Vista could not detect the device correctly. (even though "USB" appears on the TriColor bootloader screen does not mean it is correctly detected)
If you are using Vista then you could try the following instruction - this worked for me...
http://www.modaco.com/content/Windows-Mobile-News/252977/RUU-on-Vista-It-can-be-done-the-ultimate-guide/
As I say there are probably other ways, but since I installed these ActiveSync 4.5 drivers I have never had any problem.
There are 2 methods to flash HardSPL, if you get stuck in "White Screen" using the traditional method, then you will need to use JumpSPL fom the alternate "White Screen" method.

Error 222 when flashing

Hello everyone,
i'm trying to update my universal(T-mobile MDA Pro version) to WM6. I've tried every guide I found here, read the whole wiki and googled hours and hours for error 222. No solution...
I'm stuck at the first step when I'm installing Button 1.05 ROM. Every time I run it I get error 222 (Device is not responding).
The phone was already SIM unlocked when I got it and bootloader ver. says 1.01. SIM and memory cards are not in the phone.
I've provided more info below. Also tried with few difrent cables on difrent computers... Always error 222.
I would very much appreciate every help you can provide...
Thx

Use an extended rom unlocker first and then hard reset. After that you will have access to the extended rom. Delete whatever and agian hard reset...
For your first problem try to unlock your phone completely.
thx 4 second...
As for first, that's what I'm trying... I can't CID unlock it with WST (it says that my DOC chip is locked). In various wiki guides i'm suppoused to flash the button 1.05 rom first, but i can't do it because of error 222.
I've found this link with some tools to unlock the device. Which tool should I use to CID unlock it?
In topic about tomal's new memory card flashing there was a suggestion to CID unlock with this. I thought it was only for SIM unlocking. Can I use it to CID unlock as well?
