I just had to exchange my phone because it was not always charging when it was plugged in. I thought perhaps it just wasn't connected properly, but I would plug it in and any pressure I put on the cord would cause it to loose the 'plugged-in' icon. Now of course I'm paranoid that the new one (which seems better so far) will break in a similar fashion. Has anyone else had a similar issue? It looks like some folks on the Vibrant forum are reporting a similar problem.
This might be a silly question, but did you have the door slid ALL the way open? I know I read about a few people didnt "click" it all the way open and the cord would barely fit in there and loose connection easily. The door slides open and feels like it stops, but it will "click" over to lock it open all the way.

Yes. I read those threads too, and I'm sure it was a hardware defect.
I had the same problem. Exchanged it. No problems anymore

me too
I have the same problem. My door is absolutely slid all the way open but my micro USB slot is loose. I don't know how this happened since I use a backup battery charger to charge the a spare battery and then I swap out batteries so I never even plug up the charger. I use a bluetooth stereo headset so it wasn't the wired headset bouncing around that loosened it up. The only time I use the USB cable is to tether and all of a sudden last week I started loosing the connection with the laptop on my lap. If I have everything sitting on a desk untouched it is fine but as soon as you touch the phone or move the laptop much the connection is lost. I have to set the phone down in a way that puts it at a certain angle so that a connection is made.
I don't mind swapping out my phone but DANG, I paid 15 bucks for my screen protector and I got it on there perfectly!
I called att. They sent out another cable. Turns out it was the cable and not the micro USB on the phone.
Interesting...I never tried a different cable.

My phone also have this issue.. But it's charger related.. Sometimes the Traveler Adapter simply disconnects from the wall outlet.. So i'm using the iPhone adapter instead..
I tried to connect my infinity to a 40" Samsung led tv, but all the blacks are rendered pinkish. See attached image.
Already I tried two identical micro hdmi cables.
I cannot tell whether:
- cable just doesn't support infiniy
- hdmi out broken, hw issue
- yet another jelly bean issue
- some weird combination of the above
Cable is http://www.amazon.co.uk/BlueRigger-Speed-Micro-Ethernet-Meters/dp/B00609B3J2/ref=pd_sim_ce_1
Tv is
"Samsung UE40C6530 40-inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p 100Hz Slim AllShare LED Internet TV with Freeview HD"
My infinity is the US model, but TV is UK.
Weird thing that it worked once, but not ever since than.
Cheers
just a quick update.
it worked one more time, picture was perfect, but then quickly switched the input on the TV back and forth (using the remote, without touching the cable, tablet or the TV ) and it broke again, I think this rules out that the cable has contact issues
could it be that the TV is not detecting the signal properly?

Most common issues:
"So what problems does HDMI regularly encounter? "Many problems have nothing to do with high-speed video," says Jeff. "The majority are issues with I2C, the serial protocol used on the DDC line for EDID (Plug and Play) and HDCP (high Bandwidth Digital content Protection).
"I2C is slow, but very susceptible to stray capacitance issues from connectors, cables or anything the electrical bus is connected to. If capacitance gets to a critical point, it slows the signal 'rise time' needed for proper communication. You can have all the high-speed data bandwidth in the world, but without DDC, you're dead in the water."
Possible results are "failures such as no audio, no picture, pink screen or flashing – it has nothing to do with the high-speed data lines. The video can be perfect, but if the DDC line has rise-time issues, the unit will not pass HDCP, and no picture will be displayed."
TROUBLESHOOTING:
HDMI connection troubleshooting
"Flashes, no audio, or pink screen are usually caused by a bad DDC line. You have to eliminate all the good things to find the bad. Power up the system with all the HDMI cables connected, then try with shorter cables to see if the system works at all. If the system still fails to come on, use different inputs.
"Stray capacitance may be inherent in the hardware, so try a DDC line conditioner which can eliminate a lot of problems. 'If the picture comes on, then goes off, it's likely one of the video TMDS channels has a high bit error rate. Many times the picture comes back with tear lines through it.
"The second case is that the DDC line is just not quite making it, and HDCP is not getting a new refresh key. Here, replace the cable or make it shorter. If all else fails, again try conditioning.
Since we have seen multiple issues with HDMI out with the TF700, I would suggest it is likely a combination of the tablet's DCC and the TV getting a little picky on the signal.
Best advise I can give is to try different TVs, cables and sources. That way you can deduce if the issue is the tab, tv, or cable. If you consistently get a pink inversion on any tv or monitor you connect the tab to... then send the tf700 back and get a replacement.

I had this issue before and it's the cable. I could watch for 10 min or so then the color changed, then later it's back to normal. My solution is instead of buying another cable, I used my current hdmi cable, which working for my tv for years and just get a hdmi adapter (mini hdmi with regular hdmi female adapter) from Amazon for a few bucks and it works wonder.
http://www.amazon.com/HDMI-Female-M...=1350923284&sr=8-1&keywords=mini+hdmi+adapter
Everyone seems pretty sure about the cable, easy thing to check. However, I would saw that you should also (Lightly) jiggle the cable in the HDMI port. towards the top then the bottom, front, then back. My tablet has isses with the HDMI as well, but when I push the cable to the front (so the tip is touching closer to the back of the tablet using the outer end of the port as a fulcrum) I get picture/audio perfectly. I have to wrap the cable under the dock if I want to watch a movie or something so that it stays this way though.
I guess it could still be my cable, but that seems unlikely. *sigh* it used to work perfectly all the time....

Is that picture from the Infinity or the TV. My response below is based on the assumption it's the infinity.
When the cable is connected, but no picture, are you still getting this above? If so, then I would say the TV doesn't like the signal it's getting. I'm not sure what the output is exactly on the Infinity. In general, the north america signals are a 60hz, wheereas the UK is 59hz. If the TV cannot take a 60hz, then it's going to be continuing problem. You may want to try a different a different input on the TV such as DVI and use a HDMI-DVI adapter. I don't think it'll work though.
I would trying fiddling with the TV settings. Maybe turn the TV off than back on. Of maybe you'll need unplug or replug in the cable from the tablet.
I have an issue here and them with a 16" HDTV, but my cable has a short, so I know it's the cable. Mine, when there is no picture, it doesn't show the above.

This is how it looks on the tv, taken a shot with my phone. Tried to move, push, twist etc the cable, but picture always pinkish. Also tried turning Tv / tablet on off, no luck.
Just ordered a different, shorter cable, will report back once get it.

Not to be an ass but look at the picture, clearly it is a Samsung TV that this image is on.
if it's the pink color issue, I would try one of the other TV picture settings and see if that helps. My response prior was for no picture on the TV.
It's possible that tablet is pushing out that pinkish signal, but newer TVs will do a lot fiddling with the signal before it hits the screen.
I have a very basic HDMI problem in that I get nothing at all from the tablet with and HDMI cable plugged in to it. Trouble is, I can't recall what behavior to expect apart from it displaying on my TV; I haven't used HDMI since got the Infinity. I tired using it on my Prime with HBO GO only to find HDMI out is restricted. But, it did work. Anyway, with the Inifnty, I get nothing. The video will continue to display on the tablet. Like others, I have no HMDI settings available anywhere within any settings menu. So, at this point I don't know if it is a hardware defect or software.
I am on Jellybean US 10.4.4.16 build, unlocked and rooted. Any help will be appreciated.
It's Tuesday and up until Saturday I was able to connect my TF to my TV via the HDMI. However, as of today, it does not output audio or video to the tv. The sound and video remains on the tablet. This is while playing a movie and even Youtube. I don't have another micro hdmi cable to try, but I highly doubt my cable is damaged since I secured it after the last use. I tried shifting the cable about in case it had a short to see if anything would pop up - but nothing. I even tried a different hdmi port on the tv.
I tried rebooting both the tablet and tv, and also upgraded the firmware (had been postponing that ever since the update came out). I was also rooted before, but it was working fine.
Any ideas other than trying a new cable?
15 mins update:
I noticed with my cable connected to the tv - if I switch the tablet off and then on again (short press power button twice) the tv screen goes black and I can see a dull square outline on the tv. So I know the tablet like it is trying to do something. But still can't say if it's the cable or something else.
50 views and nobody with an idea?

Turns out that my 15ft cable was bad . I bought a 6ft today and it works fine.
Hey everybody,
I bought an Advent Tegra Note a couple of days ago. I always connect my devices to a TV at some point but there wasn't too much infomartion out there about the Tegra Note before I got my hands on it so I just wanted to put some info out there for people who might be interested.
The Note has both micro USB and Micro HDMI ports so I bought a micro HDMI to HDMI cable to test out a few things with it connected to a TV. I've used MHL a lot in the past so I'm not sure whether or not some of what follows is specific to the Tegra Note or applies to any tablet with both HDMI and USB ports.
HDMI to TV:
When you plug the HDMI cable into the Note it automatically kicks the display into landscape so you don't need to worry about the orreientation of the tablet itself.
Sound output seems to be at line-out level. It sounds great if you happen to have your TV plugged into a HiFi, but it does mean you can't alter the volume on the Note itself while it's plugged in.
In my experience, when you plug a phone into a TV via an MHL adapter it seems to really load the hardware which has a negative impact on performance. I don't know if it's because the Tegra 4 inside the Note is so powerful or if it's a feature of having a separate HDMI output, but there's no noticeable slow down at all. By way of example, when I ran Epic Citadel with ultra high settings in benchmark mode, it still achieved 59 fps. Web browsing was flawless too with very smooth performance.
I should probably point out that I was testing this on a 720p TV, not full HD.
USB On-the-Go
With a small OTG adapter plugged into the micro USB port I tried plugging in a wireless keyboard and mouse and it works perfectly (bear in mind if you have a UK QWERTY keyboard some symbols are in the 'wrong' place which is bit stupid for a device being sold in the UK). Next up I tried a bus powered 80GB hard drive and this also worked fine. Finally I tried a mains powered USB hub with the keyboard and hard drive plugged into it and that also works properly too. The tablet appeared to be drawing charge from the USB hub.
Simultaneous HDMI and USB OTG
At first this didn't work at all, but I found if I plugged the USB OTG adapter into the tablet first, then the HDMI cable, everything worked fine. In this setup it really is like a little media pc - it performs very well indeed.
I also tried using a small bluetooth keyboard with trackball mouse with it and that works too. I haven't tried a controller yet. I've read elsewhere that Six Axis Controller won't work with it which is a real shame, but there you go.
Apart from the rather creamy/yellow colour tint to the screen on the Tegra Note, it really is an awesome little device. 35,000 points in Antutu for $200? Awesome!
If you're in the UK and you're frustrated by the lack of UK QWERTY keyboard layout ( no £ symbol etc) you can use the Median External keyboard app from the Play store without root. This will add a UK layout under the hardware keyboard settings area under the 'Language and Input' menu. Hint, you have to connect the keyboard to get the hardware keyboard menu to appear in the input menu.
UPDATE: After the official OTA update to 4.3 I noticed a few things:
It is no longer necessary for users to download the Medion External keyboard app to get access to a UK QWERTY hardware layout. Under the input settings menu there is now an option to select a UK Android PC keyboard layout. On both my bluetooth and wireless desktop keyboards, the internet explorer shortcut key works as the Home button. Regrettably the auto correct options for hadware keyboards still don't work.
Unfortunately bluetooth is even worse than under the original or updated 4.2.2 ROM. When steaming via A2DP there are regular dropouts and reconnecting paired devices such a Moga Pro gamepad repeatedly fails at times. A factory reset didn't help.
When trying to disconnect an external HDD in the Settings/Storage menu, not only does the USB drive get unmounted, the MicroSD card stops working. The capacity and free space and of the MicroSD card will read as zero after the external drive has been disconnected. Restarting the Note (or remounting the SD card) will fix the problem, though for me the Gallery and Google Music apps became corrupted and I had to clear the data in Media Storage, Gallery and Music apps and reboot to get things working again. This bug was not present before.
I've also been playing with an Justop EZCast dongle that I bought from a reseller on Amazon. Results are very mixed. In EZCast mode pictures are streamed to the dongle very well. Videos are really hit and miss. Some stream flawlessly while others stutter to the point of being unwatchable. In EZMirror mode where the whole of the tablet's screen is mirrored on the TV results also vary. Music streaming sounds good but there are often dropouts and 'pops' and 'sqeaks' every so often that are really annoying. Also, altering the volume on the tablet does not change the volume on the dongle (whereas it does if you stream from a Galaxy Tab 3 8.0). Streaming films is also problematic in that there are periodic interruptions that are really annoying. Finally, if you connect to a wireless access point while in EZMirror mode you can mirror your browser etc to the TV which opens up a range of possibilities. You can even mirror writing on the screen to a TV so the Note would make an interesting presentation device in various scenarios. Gaming is not recommended as there is latency of about a quarter of a second. In short, when the dongle works it's great, but for now it is flawed and I wouldn't recommend one. I'm not sure whether future firmware updates will improve the dongle, but I suspect its internal hardware isn't powerful enough, especially for HD content.

I think maybe it's because I'm used to to Super LCD screens. If you put one beside the Note and look at the gmail and Play icons they look a little creamy and yellow. Next to a 2013 Nexus 7 it looks awful, but now Currys have dropped the price to £99, who cares?
You need an Micro HDMI plug not a Mini HDMI plug as I found out last week. I bought mine from an Amazon reseller for about £2. Asda sell them in store for £6-9 dependent upon brand from memory.
Make sure your headphone jack works properly, mine had an intermittent fault.
If you bought your Note in the last seven days you may be able to get Currys to refund the difference, especially if you ordered online.

I felt the same way but I found a non 0844 contact number and gave it a shot. Allegedly the difference has been refunded onto my card, though I haven't checked yet. The number is 01594 332592 and it answers as Currys Know How. I should add that I paid online and had the Note delivered to store rather than Click and Collect (or whatever it is where you reserve then pay in store).
I have picked a UK Tegra Note up for 99 quid. Really is very quick and have found that enabling 4xMSAA in developer options doesn't degrade performance in gaming.
I picked up a 30 quid miracast box from Curry's. Miracast works okay, image quality is good, but sound can fall out of sync. However with only one WiFi channel you cannot use streaming services. Although you could always set up another android device as a Bluetooth tether connected to WiFi.
Anyone got an Apps to SD solution?

Doh! I didn't realise Currys sold them - I just ordered one online from Amazon. Good point about the lack streaming services.
I only tried 4xMSAA in Modern Combat 3 and I couldn't see much difference in quality. Perhaps I'll try again. I'd love to be able to get rid of the colour banding in certain scenarios (colour crush) as it's very unattractive. Into the Dead is a good example.
I bought a pioneer x8500 stereo for my car with an HDMI output. I purchased what looks like an official MHL adapter on Amazon for $28. Each time I plug the cable into the Pioneer I completely lose all mobile data, I cannot even make or receive phone calls and have a circle with a line through it in the notification bar. I can see my screen on the headunit and do everything, even use Wi-fi but no mobile data, which is really important! When I unplug it I get it all back. I tried the MHL on a TV using the HDMI and I can see the screen same as on the pioneer but still no network until I unplug it.
I have a SCH-i545 rooted S4 running 4.3. Kernel 3.4.0. SE for Android status is enforcing. I had the verizon antivirus installed but removed it. I don't know if its something on my phone preventing the connections or the adapter is defective.
I have tried everything I can think of, even wrapping the adapter in tinfoil but nothing helps. I have a Garmin external GPS plugged in below the stereo and the satellite loses its signal when this is plugged in. It may be a coincidence but I have never had that happen before.

I have the red cord if that makes sense. (It was cheaper and was supposed to work but never did). You have the bpx looking one correct? Little white/red/whatever. Do you plug the power in on it? Try switching how you plug it into power.. i.e first plug in adapter count to 10 or 20 then phone. Or plug in all at oonce and radio last.. Just throwing things out there that i've seen on reviews from otherbuyers of em

I bought a genuine Samsung adapter and it was heavier and packaged different than the samsung one that I sent back to Amazon, it works fine now. It even charges my phone using a USB cable plugged into a cigarette lighter adapter. My other car adapter kept making the HDMI cutout and I think it just didn't have enough power. I am still trying to learn and get tasker to work properly and so far I am able to start up my music player and then launch Waze on the phone so I have GPS and Music on the big screen. I also use screenstandby so the phone screen saves power. On the radio side I have Mixtrax working with a 32GB mircosd card plugged into a USB stick, (that took a while to figure out because it DOES NOT work with apple) an 16GB SD card with Movies, my160GB Ipod with songs, Audiobooks and Mixtrax EZ, a DVD in the player and my phone for pandora via bluetooth but when I use Pandora I have to reconnect AVliberator. I wish I could have Waze working from my phone and my Ipod music player through the speakers. As soon as I get it all working perfectly I am going to do a video tutorial for those that had my same issues but no where to figure out how to solve them. I have a parking brake bypass switch installed that I have to click everytime I launch the phone so I can view the screen.
