How to: Build in an application in your current ROM. - Touch Pro, Fuze General

Hey people,
I've been browsing through the forums and im 100% sure there is a post about it, but I cant find it...
How do you "cook" an application into your rom, so that after a hard reset it still is present?

Search for making OEM Packages. That's the cleanest way to do it. The instruction for any of the Rom Kitchens (Hermes is where it first appeared I think) will work.

Ive been browsing but I cant seem to find a nifty guide which shows how I can builtin programs into my current (vodafone) rom.. I assume my warranty will be untouched then right?

Annoying White creen when creating rom in Kitchen and flashing

G4 device (AT&T)
no matter which Kitchen I use, when I create my custom ROM, upon flashing (using Shelltool) I allways get a white screen.
Now I know ive read this somewhere else, but reading through 100's of posts on each custom ROM is getting tiresome.
Can anyone tell me what im doing wrong, and/or how to fix this.
If I flash anyone elses ROM, it works fine (Faria, NBD etc.)

The chances are you are trying to put too much in the ROM. Some of the kitchens don't tell you when this happens and stop but look like they have finished OK (CreateROM.bat). If the last files that appear with the CreateROM.bat tool don't begin with underscores '_' then there are probably too many files. If you restart your PC following boot up do you see some errors about 'BuildImgfs.exe'?
Andy
Darn it you are so right !!
Spot on, I added too many things, and didnt realise id overstepped the limit.
first use a wm5 rom (wizard love or your operator rom)
then try to apply a wm6 rom with shelltools.
doing this, probably you will do.
ah! btw you need use shelltools with the systen running, sometime system crach but sheell tools still work.
one more thing, if you wait more then 30...40m and shelltools dont finnish, close it (pressing ctrl+c on dos screen) and hardreset your device.
for me always works!

Am I correct?

After reading, reading and reading I still am very confused.
Just a question and maybe I did not read that particular thread, sorry in advance, but if I understand correctly:
1. I extract my ROM
2. Change a certain cab from dutch to english
3. Rebuild my ROM
4. I can than load that ROM without the CID unlock HDSPL thingy
Correct?
Yes? Okay I start building.
No? Any other change to get an english non edited/tweaked Rom on my TyTn II?
The more I write the more I start knowing the answer. I think.
One thing I know for sure is that you do need the "CID Unlook HDSPL thingy". Without that you cannot flash a ROM so if you're going to do any flashing make sure you HardSPL your device otherwise you can render you device inoperable.
As for a ROM you can dump your ROM to have a backup so if you need to restore it later for warranty purposes you can rebuild from that. Or you can use the dumped ROM to create your custom ROM.
Check out this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=349354.
It's a very easy way to create a custom ROM.
Good luck.
Well, what are you trying to do? "non-edited" and "Tweaked" will not go in the same sentence... Also I see "change a certain cab from Dutch to English" and I get totally confused like you are... What are you really trying to do? Do you want to flash a tweaked English "cooked ROM" onto your device? That's easy - there are a couple of ROMs you can try out: Dutty's, Q-Mobile, Schaps, Gullum... or do you want to learn how to cook your own ROM? _Alex_ has put together an awesome cooking tutorial and Kitchen tools for you to use so I suggest you read those again! In either case you'll need to first unlock your device using the great pof's HardSPL/CID unlock utility...else you'll have a very expensive brick on your hands! But again, my question: what are you really trying to do?
I just want my Dutch version turned into an English version. That's all. Nothing more nothing less. No additional changes to my ROM. Just another language. Easy isn't it.

rom cooking noob, stuck at the deconstruction of a rom

i went through the rom cooking tutorials (they were great actually), but where i am stuck is on the question that do we need the oem packages in case i am only reconstructng an old rom? Say for example, I use dutty's rom (only for an example, no offense please) and want to add some new packages to it, do i still need all the packages and other stuff from the kitchen or just the dutty's rom and the new package will do? Also what will happen if i just want to update an old package, can i do it easily? i didnt get these answers in the tutorials...do you know if they are already there?
bump....sorry...

Samsung Omnia Rom problem

I'm terribly sorry as I'm very new to this and this is my first time in using a pocket pc phone and I got myself into a bit of a problem. I recently bought myself a samsung omnia (I live in Egypt) and I was curious and interested in installing htc's touchflo rom. It was a custom made one that I found on youtube and sadly being an idiot, I downloaded it.. i thought it was a skin but i didn't know it was a rom.. the link is here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e9Vu9EtLrOM (sorry if this is considered as an illegal rom, so feel free to remove it I guess)
Now after I installed this, I find that most of my programs have been deleted and the rom does work so the phone hasn't bricked or anything but I want to get back the old stock samsung rom.. I was wondering if this is possible or not. I did manage to stumble on this topic http://www.modaco.com/content/i900-omnia-r...re-version-fix/ but after downloading that silly custom rom, I don't want to get into any risks.
When i first got the phone, I remember it was a DXHH1 So I'm wondering if I should download that or download a better one.
I tried searching for any topics around here but I'm not entirely sure as I can't understand most of the jargon used around here.
again I'm sorry for asking this and I really appreciate it!
So you did flash a rom? You went through the boot loader and all?
You can download the touchflo as a program, it doesn't have to be cooked into a rom.
If you did flash a new rom, yes it would delete your programs. it is like reformating and reinstalling windows on your computer, it deletes everything.
Thank you very much for your reply!
Yes I did go through the program and and I thought the touchflo rom was a program but I didn't know.
My question is if its possible to get back the old rom.. the stock rom for the samsung omnia.. you know.. the touchwiz and windows 6.1 and get it back to normal. Problem is I don't know how. I did find the upgrades to the samsung omnia and I was wondering if I could download it or something but I'm unsure if it might brick the phone even further.

1. This forum is for MAKING ROMs not finding ROMs.
2. You want 6.0, not 6.1 or 6.5?
3. You want something official?
4. Third part ROMs are better. There are a BUNCH on this forum. Search for them.
5. If you really just want a stock one, why didn't you just search "Herald stock 6.0 rom"
6. Since you have wm5.0, it must mean that you have an IPL/SPL lower than 4.0. Do NOT HardSPL or use USPL. READ READ READ. If you can't flash the STOCK 6.0 (which upgrades your IPL/SPL) then create goldcard to let you flash it. Flash that FIRST to get your IPL and SPL upgraded. Search on how to do that. It's all in the forum.
