Low memory requirement for push hotmail? - General Questions and Answers

I have a mogul with M2D running when I install the Windows live app memory starts to dip low enough to cause manila to start closing.
Is there a way to get push hotmail without the bloat of the 2 meg live program that I never even use other than to set up my account?

POutlook constantly going online

For the past week my Cingular 750 running WM5 has been in constant read email mode and battery life has gone from 2 days (for the past 3 months) to less than 8 hours per charge. I do not use Exchange server or any push email and do not use Active Sync for email. Have tried removing all POP3 accounts but POutlook still goes online once every minute even with no accounts. What is it trying to read? Tried changing POP3 account read time from 30 minutes to 1 hour then off altogether (manual read); nothing seems to make a difference.
It also no longer even reads POP3 email when one is active. I put back one POP3 Gmail account. When the account is first added I get "reading message header 1 of 378" then it counts up until all 378 headers are read. But new mail is not read after that and my inbox for that account remains empty even though there is email less than 3 days old.
Last thing I loaded a couple weeks ago, just before this started, was Treo Alert Pro Beta 6 but I have uninstalled that to no avail. Everything else on the Treo worked flawlessly before this latest problem:
Yahoo Go 2.0
Geodesic Mundu IM v4.0ws
Opera Mobile
GB-Soft Tweak
Pocket Commander
SuperDuku2
SBSH.net iLauncher
cTide
Biomobility Data on the Run
Pocketfleet's Auto 3in1
Doublebit Software Pocket TV Browser
Microsoft .NET CF 2.0
Microsoft Reader
Mobipocket Reader
DA&TS KeePassPPC
Google Maps
Mavick hidelogo
David Andrs Sun'n'Moon
Morawietz Smart Mahjongg
Caywen Kevtris 2
Sprite Software Sprite Backup
via TreoCentral Treo 750 HSDPA Hack
June Fabrics PdaNet
I have 27 MB free RAM and everything is loaded into device memory since MiniSD card seems to go away every once in a while.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike
I always remove the POutlook app from the windows/startup folder. Seems to have stopped this issue with my 750.

Syncing 2 WM devices on 1 PC

Wasn't sure where to put this, so move it if needed.
Here's the deal. I've searched high and low and still can't figure this out. Everything I try doesn't seem to work, and I'm not a dolt when it comes to PC stuff.
I have Win 2K running Office XP. I have a Kaiser, the gf has a Treo 750. Both run WM 6. Everytime I sync her Treo, it loads my contacts onto her phone. How the hell do I get her phone to sync to outlook, have her own "profile" with her own contacts and calendar appts, yet still have my own profile with my own stuff? I've created 2 profiles within outlook, but how can I tell the phones which one to use?
Can someone write a step by step guide for me...please!

gmail pop3 email problems

Hello,
I have problem with my email. I have set up my gmail account on the phone and it works ok. I connect through wifi and for the moment i don't have a data plan.
The problem is with my old emails that disappear when i connect and receive new messages. After that i can only see the new emails.
Is any setting that I've done it wrong or what ? Maybe the emails are moved somewhere else ?
Thank you,
Use IMAP4, it's way better... (and is free to use with google) if you want to know why: [link]
Also you can set how recent can the messages be that will be downloaded...
eg.: download messages from the past 7 days... can be set up to all your messages....
It can be configured in the email setup wizard the first time you setup the email account, or you can re-run the wizard from the Menu -> Tools -> Option -> [gmail account name] menu...
Page 122 of the printed manual...
After i have opened this thread i have done that, but now there is another problem. The emails that i open on the phone aren't downloaded into my outlook on the desktop pc. And if i use pop3 on the phone it doesn't matter if i read them or not, i still can download them on the desktop.
You can use both protocols simultaneusly...
Also you can force the gmail account to download mails... [link]
But, here is how I use my gmail, outlook, PDA...
My outlook is only for storing contacs, and calendar events (as a backup, and for easier editing)
Gmail syncs my mail via IMAP on my PDA (no need for storing mails on PC as Gmail has almost 7GB space for storing mail and attachments, and with IMAP the status of the email is snyced as well...)
This way I can read my mail, and reply on the spot, but if something more complex is needed (like formatting or several attachements then the web based gmail is just as good as the outlook...)
Of course I have a Data Plan...
ok, i think i got it thank you.
As for a data plan i have a good offer from orange. 5 mb/month for 5.95 euro and 1.19 euro for each additional 10 mb. So it's quite cheap, but i have wifi at home, at my office and in many other places that i go.
When i don't have wifi acces it means that i'm on my free time or holyday so i don't need the email.
my polaris generates a 200-250 MB/month traffic... I have a 5GB data plan for 22 EUR
btw, i have the RSS HUB and some other programs running constantly, so it's no wonder...
that's nice, i mean the price for the data plan, but i don't need that much traffic. In fact i don't need even 200 mb.
If i calculate correctly my traffic on the phone is roughly 40 mb/month just for emails, and no more than 10 mb for weather and some internet.
LE: In the other post i said 5 mb/month for 5.95, but it's wrong, 30 mb/month for 5.95 and 1.19 euro for each additional 10 mb is correct. but even like this your data plan is much cheaper.
Sound better that way (30MB for 6 EUR)... but why calculate?
If you got an original Polaris (not O2), then the SPB GPRS Monitor is bundled on one of the CDs...
Sadly I need that much traffic... Using WMWifiRouter between 4-5 PCs can cause some nasty thing if you're not prepaired...
I understand, you use your data plan from vodafone to give internet to other computers. I have diffrent internet providers at home and at the office which both have unlimited traffic at very hi speed with about 10 euro/month.
I calculated because that is a gprs monitor and i don't have gprs...i calculated just as an estimation of what i would use if i would have gprs.

Time sync software for WinMo 6.1/Ozone?

Are there any small apps for syncing my Ozone to time.nist.gov? Something simple that would run in the background and check/update a few times a day?

Getting setup with Windows Phone

I have just got my Windows phone and I really like the interface I'm very impressed I must say.
I want to get it setup and everything integrated but don't really know what's the best way to start.
I plan on getting Windows 8 and using that as my main OS so would like to keep everything as in sync as possible.
Currently I have everything with Google. That's calendar, contacts and email (Through Google Apps).
I want my email instantaneously on my phone and for the calendar/contacts/email to sync wirelessly and effortlessness across my PC and phone. I will be using the Metro interface on Windows 8 for email/calendar/contacts most likely.
What's the best way to go about this? Do I need to move my services to Microsoft? Can I even get my own email domain with Windows Live?
Thanks for any replies.
WP7 and Win8 will both have the ability to sync with Google services, including Gmail and Google Calendar and such (for WP7, use the built-in Google account template; for Win8 you'll need to enable IMAP access to your Gmail account). However, to get the full value out of WP7, you'll need to have a Windows Live account too, as that's what it'll tie app purchases and such to.
Also, some features of WP7 will only sync properly with Microsoft (Windows Live) services. For example, "cloud" syncing of documents is done over SkyDrive. The phone's browser is moderately capable of handling Google Docs, but there's no built-in support for that service and while you could download the docs to read or edit on the phone, the browser doesn't support file uploading so you couldn't send them back.
I believe it's possible to get your own domain through Windows Live services, but you'll probably have to pay a little for it. I don't think Google gives away domain names for free either though, right?
I only seem to be getting about 12 hours battery life (light use), is there anyway to increase this? (I know I can't physically get more battery life - I was thinking more tips and tricks). My Phone is the Nokia Lumia 710.
It's probably best that I stick with Windows Live if I can then, for the best integration possible.

Yeah I had to pay for my domain, but Google have Google Apps for free (so they manage my calendar, email, contacts, etc...)
Trust me. you definitely want to get a Windows Live account. They do have the option of making a windows live account out of your existing email, or you can just go ahead and make a new email. Google Docs is good, and all, but its not really supported on Windows phone, so you might want to check out your office hub and skydrive.
As far as your batter goes, if you are not using wifi/bluetooth/etc turn it off. Depending on what phone you have and the screen it has in it, having your background black or white can make a difference. Also set your screen brightness to automatic.
