any way to flush out the up time? - G1 Android Development

For some reason, my g1 ( running mod rc30 v 1.2 ) will not reset the uptime even when I restart/reboot my phone. It's currently in the area of 351137:x:x with an awake time of 18:25:00 calculated out to be 0% awake time.
If anyone has ideas, please let me know...it's annoying me. I don't want to hard reset, and I just reflashed rc3p v1.2, so as you can gather from that, it didn't work.

My g1 have the same problem too, ever since I flashed to mod rc30 v1.2. For some reason v1 was fine but once I upgraded the uptime got messed up. I even tried to flash it back to rc29 and reflashed to mod rc30 v1.2 but it came back again so I'm guessing its only certain G1s that are having problems with the v1.2. I'm just curious but does anyone else have this problem?

I also am plagued with this issue with the modded RC30 1.2

I noticed the same the other day, after installing rc8 1.2 my uptime is 341415:55:xx.
I hard reset mine too tho!
Imp

hahaha
I am plagued as well... if you subtract that many hours from today you get Jan 1 1970... EPOCH time... nice

EPIC FAIL. That makes me angry.

In 2.6.27 kernel, this bug is gone... however, I can't get 2.6.27 to work with G1... me thinks I'm missing HTC stuff in my build (trackball and touch screen no worky)

Bummer. eventually i guess it'll be fixed, right? thanks for the input.

New Radio

I went through a few pages of the official Sapphire porting project and didn't see a whole lot regarding the RC33 version of the radio update. I personally don't plan on ever switching over to the ported version since it's likely that we will be seeing an official version out soon enough.
So my question is to those that have flashed the new radio to RC33, have you noticed any benefits as of yet? Battery life? Signal?
For those of you that have not seen this, you can find the new radio image here:
korndub's radio update (for RC33): http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?zhzebmabxyn
the mediafire has been blocked from china
Do you mean the radio version of 1.22.14.11? not so stable for me, lost signal sometimes.
I guess it must be 2.22.19.23, since it's from G2
has anyone given this a shot yet?
I've installed it on my JF RC9 with Three. Seems to have a better reception, 3G speed is a tough one because the speed is always different anyway but I'm currently getting 0.7Mbit, which is the highest I've seen on the device (Never got over 0.4 before)
Havent encountered any issues yet. Will see over the next few days.

Question do I just rename it to update.zip and install?
yes update and alt s
Thanks, I've been having problems connecting to the network since I flashed Haykuro 3rd build then reverted back to JF. Do you think it could be the radio that's giving me problems?
Edit
I flashed back to JF radio update and everything seems to be working fine now.

I had problems too when I flashed the JF signed Sapphire radio update. My phone never displayed 3G, it stayed stuck on E. Also, a couple people tried to call me, and said they even left a message, but when I checked my phone, no missed calls were displayed in the notification or the call log.
I dont know if it's device specific, or area specific (So Cal). Either way, even if I go to Haykuro's 5.0, I am still going to flash the original G1 radio which never gave me any issues (other than the crap battery life).
when i installed it my data and phone connection would drop every 5 minutes or so. and the data connecttion didn't always return.
Phone connection is fine for me. I don't use data(just wifi) so I can't say anything about that. The phone is taking way longer to charge though. Not sure if it will hold any longer though. I'm using adb 1.1h.
I've been losing my data connection lately with 2.22.19.23
It will go and come back 10-60mins later. It gets really annoying. but the good thing is, it did improve battery somewhat.
and edit: I used nandroid to come back to RC33 with the cupcake radio. should I go ahead and flash it RC33 radio?

I cannot recommend the Magic Radio to be run on RC at all. I can literally throw a rock from my back yard and hit a TMobile tower so I have the luxury of blazing fast 3G from my house. While running that radio on RC33 I noticed my battery drain was GOD. AWFUL. and charge time took twice as long. Also the signal quality went way down. I was a solid 1 bar and if I even thought of leaving my house I dropped down to Edge. I wasn't sure if it was the radio but the second I installed the RC33 radio my battery life instantly improved and I'm back on holy crap fast 3G.
Please note that I experienced none of these problems while running that radio on the 4.9 build. IMHO, something just isn't jiving between RC and the Magic radio but that's hardly surprising.

Strange, I went ahead and flashed just after I made this post and have had none of these issues
I had the same problem with data access amd signal dropping with the new update(2.22.19.23). i reverted to rc33 old radio(1.22.14.11) and rebooted twice and now all is fine. that new radio is unstable.

I've been back and forth from RC33 and 4.9 w/Magic radio and I can reproduce the problem every single time. Maybe it's related to my phone but to me it doesn't seem like it. Other problems included showing connected but NOTHING data working.
Dunno. Odd indeed but my troubleshooting keeps leading me to "Don't use Magic Radio on RC ROM.
I tried the magic radio this morning before I went to work... After a whole day with no connections at all, I went back to rc33 radio as soon as I got home. I thought I may have done something wrong but after seeing I am not the only one with problems, I think I will stick with rc33 for the time being
i have jf's rc33 1.43 and updated with the saphire radio. battery life seems to be shortened a bit but do find a performance increase throughout the OS. other than that, i havent experienced any of the issues others are reporting.
I've been running this new radio for a couple days now and I just have 1 strange problem.
I consistently have better 3G connection, less straight connection drops, and overall everything seems alot more responsive and just plain faster.
However...
Webpages just don't want to fully load about 75-90% of the time. I'm an avid fark.com reader and I spend a good deal of my train ride on the site and I've never had this issue with the other radios. On this new radio, when I go to the site in either Steel or Browser, I get to about 40% of the progress bar and it just stops. I've tinkered with it alot, and it's not only that 1 site.
Something isn't jiving right in RC33. I didn't run the 4.9 build long enough to notice if I experience the same problem. The no headphone support makes it not an option for me and my train rides.
I am running 4.5 build with the new radio(2. Something) and I have seen a lot of improvements with the ui, and my battery life has improved.
4.5 is very nice and I can't wait for upsates on it.

Placing calls using Hero Roms on MT3G

Im not sure if anyone else has experienced this problem, and it only occurs when i use a hero rom, and it occurs with every hero rom ive used.
When i make a call everything is fine but about 30 sec into the call the speaker and mic stop working(im still connected but i no longer hear what someone is saying to me and no one can hear me)
sometimes the phone even reboots in the middle of the call.
Note that this only occurs during phone calls.
My sdcard is partitioned correctly so dont suggest that.
And setcpu and swapper are also set correctly so that is not the issue, clearly it is an issue with the roms themselves, so if anyone could figure out what the problem is and find a fix for the developers that would be awesome.
That's Really Odd, but I myself have not had any problems like this on my MyTouch3G.
Though, if Partition correctly, there is no need for swapper, Unless you mean swappiness?
What Rom have you tried that cause this?
What phone you using? 32A or 32B?
Just trying to get more info is all.
Weird....
I have a tmobile mytouch 32B and I have NO such problems
My linux-swap is 64mb and my swapiness is at 30 (dont think it matters)
I'm using the MoDaCo Hero
That's pretty unusual.
That could be a packaging issue.
The mirror you pulled the ROM from might have been incorrect. Perhaps a rebuild or corrupted file was put through, removed, and reposted?
Double-check your sources. I had some issues regarding a topic in that ball park with Cyanogen's latest. On my spare phone, a G1...I have been dropping calls at a much higher frequency than usual. Not sure why.
Very odd indeed. I would suspect that it would be a 32A/32B mix up. Make sure that you have the ROM thats right for your motherboard.
no its not a motherboard mixup, atleast if what people are posting is true.
the roms i have used that have given me this issue are:
Qtek, Jacxhero, evil_hero, purelack hero, zeroxd
so pretty much every hero rom i have come across.
this didnt happen with the cyanogenmod rom that i used for a while.
i just recently updated to JACxHEROSki-v1.7r2 which uses the update that HTC released for the Hero i believe, and now i no longer lose a call. This rom is by far the best one i have ever used, i no longer need setcpu, swapper or move cache to sd. this rom is amazing and it feels like the long coveted and sought after "perfect Hero Rom"

mt3g green screen problem

First let me start by saying hello to everyone and how much i love this website for its plethora of information!! I am have attempted for 6 hours today in attempt to fix my problem and will only post a thread as last resort. I have reached my last resort. Here is how it all started....
Today i decided that i wanted to have the new updated Android Market so i could pay for apps using my tmo account. i noticed that my cyanogen 4.2.15.1 and the previous ones before do not use the updated market (from what i have found, it causes some problem), but i was unable to find a way to just update the market. i have also been toying with the idea of switching roms (i have used cyanogen since i rooted my phone almost a year ago) and was thinking of a super fast Hero rom. From my research, i found one that i thought was the best of the best. getting in a little over my head and doing the proper research and educating myself, i jumped in (not a normal move for me, i tend to collect as much info as i can before a make this type of move but i was work and bored ). so i downloaded and flashed a new rom. here are a few things i did wrong:
I did not wipe before i updated to the new rom
I mistakenly flashed a Hero rom for a 32A phone, thinking mine was 32a (idiot)
I did not change my radio or spl's (from what i am now reading, that was a big mistake too)
so, obviously, the rom did not take and it froze on the green mytouch 3g screen for 40 minutes. no big deal, i thought a would just wipe it, then try again. same result. ok, i will just restore to my nandroid backup........unable to restore . panic started creeping in. ok, i will just redownload the 4.2.15.1 cyanogen i had and WIPE and flash it. after attempting this many many times, it still freezes on the green mytouch 3g screen. i even thought of using an older cyanogen, 4.2.9.1 i believe, thinking they use old info that was still on my phone. no luck. i have a feeling i am missing something very obvious and will feel totally stupid when you guys help me, but, i am stuck.
I would love to have a kick ass Hero rom and if someone can explain to me the proper way of doing so with a recommendation of the most kick assey one, that would be greatly appreciated, or if someone can kindly assist me to get back to my original cyanogen rom, that would also rock. thank you in advance and i know you guys will make whole again!

[Q] Cyanogen mod 7 RC2 With Savage Zen Kernel

--I hope somebody else has tried this mixture as well; I know a few have, and 1 person I seen on the internet said it was a good match and WIMAX worked fine.
--When I installed Savage Zen (The newest GB version) to my Evo4G with CyanogenMod7 - RC2, I had a few problems; but the primary problem I had was: WIMAX was NOT working. It worked at first (for maybe a minute or 2), then it turned off; I turned it back on, it connected, and then it turned off after something like 10 seconds.... I rebooted, did a battery pull, tried quite a few things and it kept doing that. Later that day it stopped connecting completely. When I hit "connect", it just said 'connecting', or 'Finding'.... cant remember exactly sorry, but It would just stay like that, and nothing would happen.
--Eventually I just re flashed CM7 RC2 and stayed with the original kernel and now WIMAX works fine; as far as I can see....
--I was wondering if anybody out there 'had the same problem'; 'didn't have the same problem'; or most importantly "'why it happened' and/or 'how to fix it'"? -AND if there are any Kernels that somebody would recommend with CM7 RC2 EVO4G that keeps WIMAX Working? Thanks Ahead of time to Anybody and Everybody that helps me out with this.
THANK YOU!!
What version of the kernel are you running?
I had the same problem. I was using the lastest version on Savage's website. Non-sbc, though. My 4g was crippled. I had to revert to stock CM7 RC2's kernel to get 4g working again. However, for some reason, when I tether it wireless, it slooowwssss down. The speed is great on the phone itself. Well over 6 mb's down. But tethering is another story.
What do you think I should do?
Ok.... I used the gb "bfs" I think it was called. (U know it started with BS) when I first installed cm7 rc2 the newest savage Zen version made the wimax and wifi not work.
Then there was a new savage Zen that released on March 15th: I again installed the "bfs" version(brain f#@% version), it even had wimax in the name so I thought it would fix the problem..... when I first installed it, it worked PERFECTLY, then 30 minutes later wifi and wimax stopped working again.
PLEASE HELP! I miss the battery life of savage Zen!!! What's the problem??
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Ok so far I 'think' i "may" have gotten it to work by using the cfs version of savaged-zen instead of bfs.... (When I 1st installed the cfs version, the wifi and wimax worked fine just like the bfs version, and just like the bfs version after about 30 minutes wifi and wimax stopped working; but UNLIKE the bfs version, when I rebooted my phone with the cfs version, wifi and wimax work again[hopefully everybody followed that]. So we will see)
Hopefully i don't have to reboot my phone every 30 minutes to have wifi and wimax to work!! Thanks to everybody who helped; and good luck to everybody that needed help (Like there were SO many replies on this thread)(So far.........)
Any updates on this today? Thank You.
I can't get there new versions to work

Gingerbread build rebooting thread

This will come up eventually I'm sure so ill get it out of the way.
Anyone have any reboots on this leaked gingerbread build?
So far so good although I haven't on the stock 2.2 although I know many have.
I also know as of this moment its probably too early but lets use this when and if the issue arises.(hopefully not).
P.s. This leaked rom is working really good for me.. I love this damn phone....
Well call me confused..
Never had a reboot on 2.2. Already on this gingerbread build the damn thing rebooted to the g2x screen...
No issues on stock 2.2 in weeks yet within hours on this build I got one. Damn
Edit:looks like my reboot was caused by holding power too long.... All is well now
I have had 3 reboots today on 2.2 have not seen the leak yet! I also also tried the Launch PRO and I love it!!!! Had reboots before I install Launch PRO and after.

This is my third G2x and have had it for 9 days. NO reboots, no screen freezes etc. Flashed the GB update zip and shortly thereafter I had a screen freeze and now my GPS, which was really quite good, is now locking on all the birds it sees but it is up to 27 miles off,Yes 27 miles and it just vacillates and jumps around wildly. I have not added any apps etc. I am hoping it is something in the atmosphere causing the wild swings in accuracy. I know grasping at straws.lol After my first screen freeze I flashed Pauls dexopt fix, so will what happens, if anything.

I'm hoping it was a fluke thing I did... all my other phones I.e. vibrant, nexus 1 have rebooted due to weird thing's maybe this was just that... since earlier its been great... maybe just worked itself out ass they need to sometimes ..
I have my first reboot 15mn after installing Gingerbread. I didn't have any reboot with eaglesblood but automatic shut downs either plugged in or not causing the alarm clock not to ring. I had tons of reboots and shut downs with stock. We'll see tonight if there's shut downs when plugged in with Gingerbread. I'm pretty sure now it's the phone, not the OS or any software
Where can I download Gingerbread and how do I get it on my phone? What does the Gingerbread do for phone?
Reboots seem to be caused by 3rd party apps that use GPS. Since I've uninstalled Speedtest I've had no reboot issues at all. Before my phone was rebooting or freezing every 20 minutes.

Just had 2 shut downs last night, lucky I saw it and turned it back on. This morning while talking on the phone with tmobile to order another g2x, I couldn't hang up the phone cuz the screen won't turn on, so they have to hang up by the other end. That happened before in stock ROM too. This is gingerbread. This could be my phone only that does this, but I'm really disappointed of LG

same here, oh well flashing eaglesblood1.03
Yea there is something funky with the leaked gb rom. I don't have reboots on any other roms. It is solely rebooting only on gb.
I recommend the latest Cm7 #9. Just flashed it and network seems normal now. I've tried other GB roms and CM7 is the best so far.
I really liked the leaked build minus the constant reboots (powered off).
