Need opinions!! - Touch Pro, Fuze General

I have a TILT , great phone , for xmas i bought the fuze on premier and got it for free(added a line) , now my dad decided hes staying with sprint i now have two options , return the phone and have the one line removed , or keep it(it is the phone i want to upgrade to) and just convert the lines to family talk and keep him on for an additional 9.99(and give the additional line to a friend that cannot afford cellphone service?).so what do you say should i keep it or return it?

just keep it, "tis the season" right?

my opinion is sell the Fuze, get it unlocked and sell it on ebay for $500 or so, take the money pay the ETF and use the rest toward the Sprint Touch Pro on your dads plan... only if its cheaper to go on sprint with your dad, if its not cheaper per month i say keep the phone and give the line to someone that can atleast afford $10 a month

It is cheaper to go on sprint with my dad buuuuuut i hate sprint , the service isnt as good but the plus side is there plans are cheap data is cheap my only gripe against ATT is i think there prices of their plans could be a little better for example tmobile , tmobile has unlimited data for pdas for 20 and for berries for 20 , i wish att had this id be estatic.Besides we have the entire family on sprint i dont think he needs another , also when i told him my secret xmas plan he told me he was happy with his rumor and that getting the phone isnt a need its more of a want and that he would deal with what he had.So instead of a phone for xmas he has requested computer parts to further prolong the life of his computer. As far as pricing goes to keep the second line it would be
40 for 550 minutes unlimited nights and weekends both lines
25 data for my line
20 unlimited texting (my line)
10 dollars for the additional line
plus tax you figure 100 bucks (My bill is already 100-103 every month) why not?
To save money i could always reduce my texting package or see if i can finagle getting media max unlimited places on my plan(its a *****)
which would be for 35 unlimted data+texting. However media max unlimited is for "normal phones" and not pda phones even though both plans use the same gateway to connect to the internet(medianet not isp) If im not mistaken i could be wrong . So we have 1 for yay and for a maybe if other deciding factors!

wait 30 days and pay the ETF for the new line
Keep the phone and put your SIM in it

Umm, if your older than 18, just put it in your name with att, take over service and smile.

the account is in my name both lines are under me

Best way to break my contract with O2?

No idea if anyone can help, but I would really like to break my contract with O2 - I spend between £70-120 a month on my phone bill, half of that on data.
It just seems so unreasonable, they cannot offer me any decent alternative price plans on O2; while both T-mobile, and Orange are taunting me with web'n'walk, and some sort of bizarre animal deal.
How should I approach O2, I have had no success in the past with getting discounts, so I'm really hoping somebody can outline a strategy for escape - preferably with my phone number.
Got 5 months left on a 12 month contract, prior to that was with them a couple of years, if that helps at all.
Thanks.
Unlock your current phone. Stick the O2 sim in any old handset. Use the inclusive O2 voice minutes on this handset to setup diverts to your new number. At the end of the O2 contract get a PAC number and port to the new contract. This way you keep your original phone number for people to call and calls go to your new number without them knowing. I have never been able to exit a contract early without paying the remaining balance.
you can opt out but like wizzzard says you have to py the balance off ,it might be in your interest to phone them and ask first how much this will be and weigh out your options
It'll be a lot. Companies love it when a customer reneges on a contract because they get a nice lump sum and they can basically ream them :/
A less viable alternative is to cancel your credit card, just after you move out of the country. Find a country which the UK doesn't have an extradition treaty with, then there's no danger of you being brought back to the country at Her Majesty's Pleasure. Wait ten years, after which time any debts you owe become null and void, and recommence your life as a British citizen.
Of course, getting past Immigration might prove a little problematic, but that's the least of your problems. I'd go nuts without a decent Internet connection after three days. Five, max.
LMAO That is the funniest thing ive read in ages! Really cheered up my day!
Forget about cancelling standing orders, this will affect your credit rating.
By the sounds of it you already have a PDA, so if your priority is saving money then your first action should be to knock your O2 price plan down to the bare bones. If you've been in the contract 6 months this shouldn't be a problem (with some networks its only 3 months).
Next, hurl your unwanted USIM in the bin (if you hate O2 enough).
Now - do you REALLY need to keep your number?
Is it a business number?
Have you lost contact with an ex and harbour a vain hope that they'll still have your contact details, and one day the call will arrive telling you they made a mistake?
Or are you a stickler who can't bear changing things?
If the answer to all these is a resounding 'No' then get online and take out a Flext 35 + wnw tarif with a Vario II - this gives you unlimited internet access and 180 pounds credit for 37.50 (30 quid for the first 3 months) but you probably already know this.
It will cost you 70 quid for the handset i think.
Now if you have more than 1800 contacts you're screwed and may end up forking out an extra 40p, but you ought to have more than enough credit here to send all your buddies and all your family members a text informing them of your new moby number.
If you'd still rather keep your number then sell your Vario II on Ebay. You'll get AT LEAST 320 quid for it (less 70 quid = 250) this should be more than enough to pay off your O2 contract, and request a number migration.
With either of these scenarios you're saving money.
You can't really lose my friend.
In relation to paying off your contract early, if O2 operates on similar lines to T-mobile or Orange then you'll simply be paying off the total remaining months' line rental (not including any discounts on the account). If you've knocked down your tarif to 20 quid then you'll pay somewhere in the region of 100 quid to cancel it based on your remaining 5 months. Most phone companies aren't actually that unreasonable with early cancellation charges, and you certainly won't incur any ridiculous fines. Fones 4 U pay off contracts early for customers all the time without any problems.
i've recently disconnected my vodafone contract which was on 18 months but i was in the 12th month.
all i did was drop the tariff to the lowest one, then i paid the remaining line rental to make up the 18 months and there was no extra charge.
and i managed to get a pac code off them to port my number to another network aswell
Cheers guys, some good suggestions.
Probably just try putting it on the lowest contract.
I guess I might wait till an interesting new phone arrives at t-mobile. Anyone know when and what that might be?
the new 8800 sirocco will be out on t mobile near the end of this month

Horrible Customer Service Experience Tmobile

I want to put as much emphasize on this story as possible because I really want some useful advice. 2 days ago my phone was stolen. Since then I have been trying to get a phone because I run a business and by now 3 days I have lost half a grand easily.
Last month I switched my phone from a 2 year contract to a prepaid month to month plan. At this point tmobile does not offer insurance on the phone any longer. This is important because after paying $140 per month for this phone with insurance, the month I switch to the $50 per month plan it is stolen and tmobile says, "o well".
I said can I buy a new phone? They said no because you still owe us money for switching the phone to prepaid and $150 on the actual phone itself. I did not pay the money to switch because the previous month I had the money the lady on the phone said she would take care of it which I thought meant since I never actually left the company they werent charging me to change plans...not the case after all, but do not find out until my phone is stolen.
I had an HTC Amaze for the record. So I went home and called tmobile. I was on the phone about 25 min before the connection became so bad I asked for them to call me back. They got the phone number and then never called. I had been transferred 7 times by this point. I called back and explained I was very frustrated. They transferred me to a specialist. This lady had me on hold about 20 min. Finally she said we resolved the $200 fee but you still have to pay the $150 on the phone. I paid the $150 and she asked me if I want to buy the new phone now? I said no because I wanted the phone immediately so I would go into the store to buy it.
I got to the store and they said I still owed $200. Even if the $200 fee was resolved he told me I cannot get the discount on the phone I wanted and that I have to pay the full price of $600 because they do not give a discount on their phones more than 1x per 2 year contract! Even on a new line. So I was going to buy a cheap phone and he said he could keep my old number and use this cheap phone until I could buy the phone I wanted later. I told him the Staples accross the street sold phones if I could ask them if they sold me a phone for cheaper they could activate it. He said it would probably only take me 30 sec to go check and to see.
I got back to the tmobile store in about 2 min and he had gone on his lunch break. I waited about another 20 min before another associate helped me who did not have the same deal with a cheap phone he told me about. In stead of $160 total for everything he wanted to charge me $200 for everything. I was there for 2 hours and by this point I am extremely upset and I want to leave tmobile.
This is not my first bad experience with tmobile. I have been unhappy since I joined. There is no complaint department. You have to write out a letter and mail it in. I left out some details of why I am so upset because the bottom line of the story is I am just completely unhappy with tmobile. They treat you like you are nothing without them, and will be fine without your business. This may be true but I have been paying almost $150 per month for almost 9 months and now they want me to pay $200 when I am not even leaving their company, then my $600 phone which is fully paid off is stolen they not only do not help me, but they are rude and go on lunch after he told me to go ahead and check which would only take a matter of seconds. I ran to the store and back and he was on a 30 minute lunch, I am just unhappy with the whole company. I will not even go into details of when I was having trouble with the phone during the previous 9 months.
What I want to know is how do I leave a phone company without paying their fee. Its not right, I am leaving because their service is so unsatisfactory in my area, and now I need help they not only do not help but want to charge me full price to get my line back. If I switch to another company can I still keep my same number? I need the same number for my business and I would much rather not stay with this company. Could anyone recommend any links with information, or which service providers you prefer? Thanks.

okay so question on tmo

I have tmo family plan I can add a line and a phone for 15 bucks - I can get the note 2 for 199 - the term fee is 200 so if I do that i get a note for 400 right?
Yes.
Aww man I thought you were reporting that you found a deal.
I thought the term fee was 300 now?
I'm pretty sure the term fee is by the device you upgrade with, not the device currently on there. If that was the case then EVERYONE would put a dumbphone on their line before terminating it. You are either gonna have to pay out of pocket or just keep paying for the add a line. That's what I am doing with VZW, I added a line when my wife's upgrade was due before they started this nonsense with having to switch to their shared data or whatever so we both got to upgrade. Then put a dumb phone on the third line and it'll be $200 over the course of 2 years. Plus having the spare phone is nice in the case that one of the main lines breaks and you don't have a spare smartphone to temporarily activate on one of your main lines. We use our dumbphone as a "house phone" since we don't see the point of a land line. Just trying to throw ideas out there.
Oh and if you do have VZW having the third line allows you to "upgrade" it every 2 years and get a new device at subsidized prices and keep the unlimited data plan. You just switch the smartphone on the third line to one of the mains. Or switch to a carrier that isn't retarded...
I talked to rep under the guise I was buying for a family member and if they hated having a cell I would eat the cost of the phone and the 200 term fee and they said "that's correct" the only minus would be adding a line reset the time frame of all lines - so my two current lines that are close to 1 year would be reset and I would be waitng the two years from for all of them

That would just extend your actually plan contract, not all phone contracts. You would still be able to upgrade in a year if that is how long. But last I checked, plan stays the same for lines, except the added one.

what if....t-mobile new uncarrier question

Im currently on sprint, and plan on going to t-mobile. I was planing to get the galaxy s4 (no contract) and hop on t-mobiles 500 min unlimited text/data plan since the price was good and i only use like 100 min a month. I dont see this plan on their website anymore though (or i cant find it) i can only find the new uncarrier plans which wont let me adjust how many minutes i want a month, it only shows unlimited. and it is more expensive then the one i wanted.
so my question is, does the plan i originally wanted still exist? I will be really dissapointed if it doesnt
I think they're not having "plans"anymore. From what I've read, $50 will get you unlimited talk and text, plus 500mb of data. Then you either buy unlimited data for $20, or they charge $10 for each additional 2gb you use.

This page is still up : http://prepaid-phones.t-mobile.com/prepaid-plans
If I were you, I'd hurry up and buy a SIM card and even just a $20 pre-paid phone/one of CL/whatever and get it activated if it's still possible instead of waiting.
If they kick me off it I'll just go to buying minutes only and they'll lose quite a bit of money, so meh. Or maybe I'd go to data-only. Or another carrier.

that wasnt the page i was looking at before. To get to the page i looked at before i would navigate to plans>individual plans>value plans
also, do these prepaid plans include unlimited text/data? i see no mention of it.

That's just a page with the old plans, that's all it is. I have no idea if or when they'll implement changes to their system when you activate a SIM card.
It's also still advertised on WAL*MART's web site along with the new plans. You could go to WAL*MART, buy a cheap phone/SIM and then switch it.
They've just been talking about this on CNBC squawk box, they seemed positive from the company's point of view, $100 a month for unlimited everything then after 2 years knock $20 pm off your bill because you've paid for the phone by then, still seems expensive to me, at the mo an S3 costs £32 all you can eat then after 2 years go sim only for £17 or less to suit.

i wont be doing this "financing" they are talking about. i will be paying off the phone then and there. ITs certainly dissapointing that they dont have what i was looking for anymore, though i will still be switching

For family/group plans its a rip or breaking even with current rates.
The plan seems worth it to me.
I'm a person that barely uses my minutes, so I was paying 40 for 500 minutes and then 10 bux for texting and then 30 for 5GB data.
I switched to the no contract plan already and I'm going to be saving 10 bux a month now and have unlimited data with no throttle. Only downfall is that the mobile hotspot now has a restriction of 500MB before they shut it down and require you to get a hotspot plan, but nothing that a usb tether or bluetooth tether can't fix.
For individuals, this makes sense, because with the lowest minutes plan, txt and data (seems like they have moved everyone to 5gb plans now on smartphones) you were paying 80, so there is instant savings on the plan now going contract-less.
When I was with Sprint I looked at my minutes usage and I averaged 100 minutes a month and was paying $46/mo for 500 minutes and unlimited texting, no data.
Now I pay $30/mo plus only state sales tax ($1- something) and I have all the minutes I need plus 5Gb of data I didn't have before.
With the $400 phone cost, it evens out to about $40/mo for the first two years. And I'm getting everything I had plus more for still slightly less per month.
I also have various VOIP apps that I can use to call and essentially get as many minutes as I could want.

[Q] Too good to be true Sprint Deal for Students?

In 2013 I took advantage of a best buy/sprint promotion where I bought a new phone with cash and received a free year of unlimited calling and text service from sprint.
I added on the $10 unlimited data option but otherwise the only other cost was insurance and taxes so my bill was just over $20.
I am a week from this awesome deal ending so I called sprint to see what my options are.
They told me if I buy a new phone through the easy-pay system where I pay on a new phone for 24 months I can stay in the current promo.
I have to say that having free unlimited calling and text (a $50 value) per month is very attractive if true.
Just seems like it is too good to be true to me. I would have to purchase my phone through Best Buy but they told me I had to use the easy-pay 24 month system and not pay for the phone in full to do this.
If this is true I can see either a galaxy note 4 ($30 a month) or a galaxy note edge ($35 a month) in my very near future and I would be selling (Or trading in) my current note 3.
Anyone know for sure? Think I am stopping at best buy tomorrow to see...
