may s.o has already red this is coming until midle of 2009 it should be here final.
its made for "highend sp" but in cnet.com it has been said that 16mb of ram and 200mhz would be needed.
this flash 10 is optimatet for arm processors. is the vox processor a arm processor(dunno!).
may you findnews on this
oh wow from 7 to 10?
maybe now we can watch straight up youtube videos?
it is said so..
i think we might need an plugion for pie. but lets ahve a wait and see
Well, actually from 0 to 10. Flash 7 is only for Professional devices (and you can't really count Flash Lite...). And yes, the processor of the Vox uses the ARM architecture!

What would be your preferences for buying one?
Well, I haven't decided yet. I need to get my hands on the Touch HD and see how big it is. But right now, I am probably going to get a Touch Pro. The full keyboard is something I don't want to miss!!!

Well it doesn't support the Magic's process fist off, second it's designed for a 800x480 resistive screen. There's more but those 2 reasons alone are enough. BTW Fremantle has been out for some time test running on beagleboards for some time.

Maemo 5 runs off of a RM Cortex-A8 processor capable of scaling the CPU from 600 to 1Ghz..... Even so, Maemo isn't all the cool.

Hi Mr. Cotulla
What you think about Windows 7
in 02 xda mini 2.
i think you mean windows phone 7 series, and that would be awesome but you would need to at least wait for a few months before being able to even see if the magician is capable of running it.

Well lot of rumors goin on the net, anyone have any idea if if HD 3 is for real..???

It's a fake.
The announced SnapDragon is the dual core version if I'm not wrong.
It's just a dream concept

I am afraid he is right.
New WP7 reminds me of crappy iPhone interface.
Instead of getting more features and opportunities they're copying Apple style.
Hopefully with WP7.3 we will get copy and paste and with 7.4 maybe multiasking.
I will go for Android when I will change my HD2.

ZOMG!!11!! A PHONE PROCESSOR WITH A GIG AND A HALF OF COMPUTING POWER

I think the point was it says GB not ghz
Edit: Also if it was an official "document" or whatever it would say "Windows Phone Series 7" or whatever the official name is, not "Windows Mobile 7"
Those specs are obviously fake...1200x800 is not a supported resolution.
I think it's a fake ... but I hope so much that is true!
If the HD3 will keep the promises .. for me it will be the first PDA without the physical keyboard!
PS: Just this HD3 can make me leave my Touch Pro 2!
Seems like a rumor for now...but it could show up in the Fall.
I'm sure there will be a successor to the HD2 running Windows Phone 7 Series, but I think they will choose a different name than HD3 considering it's a completely new OS. And it will definitely have a screen res of 800x480, no higher.

It's possible that the forthcoming HTC Obsession will actually be a merger between the HD and Diamond product lines - in other words that there won't be a direct successor to the HD2 at all.
And yes, the "HD3 specs" posted earlier are a very obvious fake. We now know that WP7S doesn't support resolutions higher than 800x480; we also know that no WP7S device will be able to use a removable memory card. I really wish people would stop creating threads about these "specs" - there must have been nearly a dozen different threads about them, now. They don't get any less fake for being posted multiple times.
Well have been using HD2 for a while & was just curious, so just started this thread..!!!
Hope we get WM7 or Android sooner on HD2..!!!

800x4800 ? Wow, that's one hell of a resolution
Since when is processor speed measured in GB? And wow they gone really far for 1 generation. from DVD qualitity to 1080p.
Also everybody is talking about HD3. Where is TP3? I want to see some new HTC models with HW KB.
Also i wish that HTC would make some tegra models instead of qualcomm. Maybe then they will provide better drivers.
Will it be possible to put a version of windows on the gtab? I know they are working on linux with a distro of ubuntu, does anyone know if it is possible?

Considering that the Tegra 2 is a RISC CPU and to my knowledge the only Windows version that is written for RISC CPUs is WinCE I'm guess the answer to your question is yes and no. Yes technically an OS made by MS in the Windows "family" (WinCE) could be ported to the gtab but realistically the kind of windows variant that I think you're looking for (XP/Win7) no. And you're right this is a powerful piece of hardware... way more that is necessary for WinCE so on al counts it's doubtful that windows will ever make it onto the gtab.
Actually I believe if someone can rip the proper files from the dual booting 10" viewsonic this might be possible. I would have to look at the internals, but I would assume they are the same. I know it is running win7 starter and I believe Android 1.6. I was actually gonna look at that this weekend. Problem is with the small internal memory might be worth it to invest in a 32gb chip.

Actually there is a reason that it is running android 1.6. 1.6 has a compiled version that runs on x86 architecture.
No dice on win 7 on this puppy sorry
Scratch that. I just looked at the specs and they are not even close other than the screen. Well it was a thought.

The other tablet is uses Intel Atom CPU, hence why it works, would have been nice if that tablet had Android 2.2....but who wants Win7 when you got android....hahaha
I agree about android over win, but I always like to have the ability to. I have my linux box w/ a tiny Win7 partition. Course every time I log into it. I remember why I stopped using windows
Sent from my DROID2 using Tapatalk
The VS 10" multi-boot tablet has an Atom (x86) CPU and dual boots Windows 7 and Android 1.6 (IIRC).
The only thing vaguely like Windows that you MIGHT be able to get on the gTab will be some version of wince(and I do -- they're trying to call it Windows Mobile now since wince was so awful, but it sounds like it hasn't helped).
I'd actually like to see how well WinMo 6.5, like my old touch pro had, would run on a g-tab. I really enjoyed that old phone.
Hey All. Just a quick thought I had. With the hardware specifications of the G Tablet, is it powerful enough to mimic the Viewpad 10 and dual boot win (XP of 7) and android? I know that the processors are quite different, but would that make it impossible?
Just a thought.
Thanks,
Scott

No. Yes.
What would make it possible: Swapping the guts of the Viewpad 10 w/the gTab...
Viewpad 10 only run Android 1.6 anyways, which is VERY old, as that is the only version of Android ATM that supports x86 processors...

Not possible yet, you wouldn't want to try to run Windows under an emulator, trust me.
However, a Tegra 2/ARM build of Windows 7 is apparently in the works - see this thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=10011358#post10011358
Also, there is apparently a Windows CE build already for Tegra 2, I'd check out the developer forums at NVidia if you're really curious. I don't know why anybody would want to run Win CE on their G Tab, but it'd be a cool hack if you felt like doing it. Drivers for touchscreen would be an issue of course - you'd have to write them for the G Tablet touchscreen (which will be at least vaguely plausible after the kernel source release this week), or find something compatible out there. Basically, a lot of work for no real return.
