My Fuze just hangs - Touch Pro, Fuze General

I having some problems with my Fuze and I don't know what to do. It just hangs and become non-responsive when I switch the TF3D between portrait and landscape mode. It works fine if I just stay on portrait or landscape when I power off/on or soft reset the phone. Could anyone please help me resolve this? Thank you all for any kind of help that I can get.

If I hard reset the phone, will this solve the problem? And how do I go about hard resetting the phone? Thanks!

Hard Resetting the phone may or may not solve your problem. But make sure you do a back up first.

To do a hard reset go into Settings>System>Clear Storage you'll then have a option and will have to type in 1245 and hit OK. This will make the phone like new or ie. hard reset.
Hope this helps.

Press and hold the Explorer and GPS button (under the phone buttons), and press reset with sylus!
Or use Clear Storage in Setting System.
Problem
Hi, My polaris is crazy, I notice some problems in the way the system is working, contact problems, weather home plugin, always trying to get information, problems with instaling programs, and now I can not enter in bootloader or make a hard reset, when I try it I see the tri color screen but disaper in less a second.
Any idea?
thanks
Did you ever read the manual that came by your device.
They have a troubleshooting section too.
You could also give more specific info on :
- contact problems
- weather home plugin
- always trying to get information
- problems with instaling programs
That would really help us to figure out if you are the one that are doing things not the right way or if it is your device that malfunctions.
PS: don't feel attacked by this post, it's only for making you understand that when you provide little info, we can't really help on the problem.
solved
Problem solved guys,
DonĀ“t fell atacked I undersyand you,

Resets Not working
I cannot do a Soft Reset or a Hard Reset on the HTC Touch Cruise (Polaris)
Individually,
Pressing the camera key on the right side does not work, throws an error message - Unable to initialize Camera. Failed to set up the camera device
When I use the Stylus to do a Soft Reset, nothing happens.
Pressing Messaging/GPS + Internet buttons and Soft Rest = No Result.
Any other ways to do a soft/hard reset? Is clear storage ok to do a hard reset, and with a cooked ROM. Thanks for the answer
sraaj, the same problem for me. Did you solve the problem?
Thanks!!! Press and hold the Explorer and GPS button (under the phone buttons), and at the same time press reset with the pen worked perfectly for me. I recovered the phone after I broke it when installing a game.
Thanks,I can hard reset naw

Orbit 2 - can't turn bluetooth on

The title says it all really. I've tried searching the forums by the way but couldn't get it to work.
I go into connection manager from the today screen and tap on the bluetooth to switch it on, the egg timer comes up for a few seconds as if it's trying to turn on, but then can't. Is this a regular issue? I can't find a self diagnosis tool on this machine, which I've had on all my previous Pocket PCs, is there one hidden away somewhere?
Many thanks for any help.
i think it's just broken. some kind of hardware failure. i got the same problem. have to send it in. :-(
Make a hard reset. I helped for me.
Right I'll try a hard reset if someone could just tell me how to do it. Many thanks.

First hit on google for "hard reset polaris": http://www.hardreset.eu/htc_touch_cruise_polaris_hard_reset_soft_reset.html
You might wanna put some effort in it yourself first, before asking.

Point taken, but the problem with your links' information and all the hard reset guides I initially found, is that the buttons referred to aren't the same as the Orbit 2. Even if you search for Orbit 2 reset info you get a page as you've linked about touch cruise.
Anyway found the info eventually but hard resetting didn't help the bluetooth problem, looks like I've got to send it back to O2. Sucks.
My colleague's Polaris has also gone RMA because of the same bluetooth problem. Hard reset didn't help either.
BTW, now that you know how to hard reset the Orbit2, maybe you can post it here to help others?
Hard resetting Orbit2
Good point. To hard reset the Orbit2 you just push and hold down the "OK" and the windows start menu buttons simultaneously and then press the recessed reset button once. Continue to hold the 2 buttons until the hard reset prompt screen appears then follow the instructions.
So, maybe this isn't the isolated problem they'd have me believe it is then. I've noticed that when the GPS is in use + bluetooth and maybe wifi, the unit gets very hot and I wonder whether this caused it to overheat.....

Cannot hard reset

Help! I cannot hard reset after my touch screen stopped working. Have tried pressinn gps and internet buttons, then pressing reset and keeping hold of gps and internet but device just soft resets. Would leaving the battery out do the same thing?
Alternative hard reset
Hello mate,
You say your screen isn't working but can you still use the keys and scroll wheel to navigate around the software?
If so, open the start menu and navigate to 'settings', 'system' and select 'clear storage'.
Make sure that you've removed your SD card before you do this.
It will perform a hard reset for you.
Lom
I'll try it but I think it asks you to input 1234, which I can't do without the keypad working!
Yes you do have to enter 1234 so I am totally stuck and ready to try the big hammer reset.
Can anyone help?
alternative!!
use my mobiler
this application will let u use ur ppc thru ur pc
i mean u can share n control ur ppc screen thru desktop

Cheers Mate!
Tried what you suggested but i got a message on the screen with a yes no box to install and couldn't get the button to operate using the wheel or any hardware key!
I've put my sim card in my magician and I think I may have to send the polaris back. Bet they'll say its my fault and will want paying to fix it.
I'm going to try leaving the battery out for a while to see if that will "force" a hard reset. I know I havent bashed it as it stopped working just after a phone call which is why I think hard resetting will sort it.
Tried your suggestion on my magician: nice bit of software!
The hard reset prompt is done by the bootloader, no installed software can affect it, simply because it isn't loaded yet.
Anyway, for the unlikely case of the digitizer hardware not being reset by bootloader, try removing the battery instead of pressing the reset button. Yes, thats right, remove the battery while the unit is operating, as rude as it sounds, and reinsert it while holding the GPS + Internet buttons.
It will, of course, prompt you to enter the 1234, but the touch screen should be initialized by the bootloader. If it still wont work - RMA the unit, your digitizer is faulty.
It still wouldnt hard reset so it probably is a hardware fault. looks like its going back.
Anyone else had a similar issue?:
Sent it back to HTC in Milton Keynes where thet diagnosed a duff touchscreen and replaced it under warranty. The service was very fast and hassle free. Well done HTC!
First thing I did after sprite restore (they reload with a fresh ROM) was to install my mobiler as suggested above. No worries if the screen doesn't work now.
Thanks for your help guys!

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!!! HTC Touch Pro Problems

My Problem is,
Frequently my Touch Pro will have a black screen when i try and turn it on. Its really bugging me because i dont have insurance When i try and go to my landscape mode it will stay in portrait. sometimes (1 out of every 50 times) it will actually load in landscape allowing me to text. If the screen turns off and i try and turn back on its not gonna happen. I can get the screen to come on by pressing the power button on\off over and over until it, well just happens...
If anyone knows a solution to this problem i would greatly appreciate it. I should add that i have done a hard reset and it didnt fix anything at all. I havent changed the ROM so i dont see what the problem is. Thank you in advance
This could be either hardware or software. why don't you back your stuff up and hard reset?

I Only had contacts, which i couldnt figure out how to backup. everything else is on a micro sd card.
I figured that a hard reset would fix a software or hardware problem...
you can use PIMBackup 2.8 to back your data up. anything on your storage card will stay safe... but you should always remove it just incase.
hard reset.. and see what happens. if it's a hardware problem.. it most probably won't be solved.. unless a miracle happens. if it's software, it should solve everything since hardreset is as clean as you can get - that is, if your rom was alright in the first place.
Hi, did you figured out what happened?
cause mine just got the black screen, and the screen doesn't power up for anything... I just get the side lights of the screen on.
Did a hard reset solved the problem?
Thanks

I have a HTC Touch Cruise. First it stoped to avtive sync with the computer but i didn't worry, now the touch screen doen't work, it doen't hard reset nor does it go to the boot loader mode even though i have a hard SPL. The phone as of now can only answer calls and dial the last number.. otherwise i'm not able to do anything as the touch screen is nor functional... is there any solution to hard reset this machine as i'm not able to do it the standard way....
Try pressing 2 buttons below green (phone) & red (hangup) buttons, both at the same time & hold it while pressing reset button with the stylus.

yes. You can hard reset manually by pressing down both GPS and Internet explorer button while soft reset the polaris. this will do the hard reset.
