Stolen Phone Contacts!

My wife's cell phone was stolen on Saturday night. I reported it stolen on Sunday at about noon. Since Monday was a holiday I waited until Tuesday to replace it. Got the phone and activated that same day.
Now the weird stuff... on Wednesday, after my wife had added about 10 contacts on Tuesday, she noticed an additional 9 contacts (names and phone numbers) in her contacts. One is even labeled "Mom"!
Does anybody know how this can happen? Btw, we kept the same number that she had before and I asked several Sprint people if this would be a problem and they all assured me that it would not be a problem.
I am about to report this to the police. Seems like it would be an easy case for them if they just follow up on some of the numbers listed. The phone was stolen at a wedding so the list of suspects is limited.
Any help or advise will be greatly appreciated. I worry more for the data on the phone than the actual value of it (Sprint Samsung Instinct).
Thanks,
tsp

what are you doing with your charge

since its not out yet i know a few us have it, i was wondering what are you all doing with your charges as far good apps, tweaks, tips anything you could share would be cool just to get us by till development starts. verizon playing
Is it out yet? Is there a definitive release date?
I got a Thunderbolt a couple days ago and would really like to trade in for this phone, the TBolt battery life is just awful
Its not out yet but several of us have it. This phone is amazing, I owned a Thunderbolt and now that I have a Charge I can't say I miss the Thunderbolt. The battery life on the Charge is great, I went 1 day and 5 hours on my last charge and still had 30% left.
I heard they may try to launch it again in 2 weeks which would be May 19th but don't quote me. My guess is that Samsung wants some assurances that Verizon has the LTE issues sorted before trying to launch again. It appears the issues with launch are in Verizon's court because the phone passed testing with no issues. I really wish Verizon had waited on the Thunderbolt though. That phone should have come with a 1600mAh battery instead of the underpowered 1400mAh battery.
Although I haven't experienced any noteworthy issues with 4G service using the Charge I don't think Verizon has the outage completely figured out.

I am having issues with data connectivity on my charge. I'm in a 4g area but I'm unable to get 4g throughout my house so the phone is constantly switching between the 2 and randomly just completely stops trying and shows no data connection forcing me to reboot in order to achieve data connection again. Switching in and out of airplane mode works sometimes but usually have to reboot

I had issues with loss of data connection on my ThunderBolt, sometimes it got stuck on 1X for hours. Still its a worthy phone and I'm not wavering on getting the TB again or getting the Charge.
As for launch date, I read on another forum today that someone had placed an order and was told the accessory for the Charge was supposed to be there last Friday. It did not arrive of course so he called in and wasn't given a good explanation but was told it would be there on Monday May 9th.
So maybe they are going to release stuff next week, maybe not. Heck Verizon could be stringing us all along so they can get the 4G unlimited closed out.

Can't get a replacement phone.. help!

I have been trying for 3 weeks to get a replacement for my phone since the GPS doesn't lock or loses signal every 2 minutes while driving (I need gps for my job). And now data has been cutting out every so often even in great service areas.
So 3 weeks ago I went to a local store to get the phone replaced thinking I had 14 days from when I received the phone. Nope they tell me its when they shipped it, never mind that it took 6 days for the phone to arrive. The store tried to replace the phone with a new one anyway after I told them how long it took to ship but said they would have to knock me off unlimited to do so and there is no stock refurbs available so come back in a week.
Later I call customer service and get the same answer and they tell they will call me back. After calling in 3 times with no returned calls, the 4th guy finally called me back today, but said there is no white ones in stock do I want a blue. I tell him no and he says wait until next week for him to call me back.
something seems wrong with this.... is there any recourse? Can I escalate the case somewhere?! Doesn't seem like most people have an issue getting a replacement. what's going on

They're just being assholes to you.
Have you contacted Samsung to see what they can offer you?
I got the same story regarding the 14 days from "date of shipment" when I asked for a replacement. When I pressed further (I was seriously considering ATT at this point) he came back and said the "system" allowed me to get a new one - whatever that means.
At least you found a rep that agreed to get you a new one. Hopefully it only takes a week - make sure they note their agreement to get you a replacement in the notes. They will honor promises made in the notes by a previous rep.
It kinda sounds like you gave them the impression that you did something wrong to it and that you need to buy another replacement. If it doesn't work correctly, they just mail you a replacement as long as you're in the warranty period which is a year I think. I was six months into a phone, had similar issues as you, went to vzw store, they confirmed and shipped me a replacement the next day. Why the heck are they even bringing up your data plan/contract? That has nothing to do with a replacement phone at all. Almost sounds like they're trying to 14 day "swap" rather than warranty "replace".

[Q] No Service 3 UK

I'm pretty sure this is a network issue, however I have a couple of friends on 3 too that haven't experienced this problem.
The only thing that makes me ask the question here is that this is occurring in 3 different areas.
Since Saturday night at my home location (Bagshot, GU19) I lost all network connectivity. Thinking nothing of it as it will probably be resolved by morning, plus the fact that 3's customer support line was shut I went to bed expecting it to be up.
Sunday morning I woke up and still nothing. I went round to my partners which is in Bracknell (RG12) i had network but only 1/2 H+ not the usual 3/4 bars of 4G. Fluctuating like mad! So I rang them up after checking with my partner's sister as she is on 3 (she had no issues) i spoke to them about this issue and they said they were aware of an issue and it had been fixed 2 hours ago.
Again I left it and waited as they said they had fixed the issue. Service picked up to 3/4 bars of 4G like normal. Went home later that evening and my phone was fluctuating between no service and full 4 bars of 3G (H+) signal (there's no 4G in my area yet). Again I thought as they said it was fixed it may still be throwing a bit of a fit and will be fine in the morning.
Woke up this morning to no service whatsoever. A bit pissed off I drove to work (Farnborough, GU14) and i still have no service. Now I don't know if there is an issue with my phone or not but again a colleague has a 3 sim and his is fine. This is what leads me to think there may be an issue with my Nexus 5.
Any ideas of what I should do ?
Edit 18/08/14 @ 13:30 - Went outside of my work for lunch across the road to the shops, funnily enough got signal while outdoors and then lost again when indoors. Looking more like a network issue ?
I live in Manchester, and I'm working in Macclesfield right now, experiencing the same issue, same carrier as well. I think it might be a network issue, but I've started using the Nexus 5 two days ago, so I'm not sure.
So after one of my colleagues let me put my sim in his phone and vice versa we discovered that for no reason my phone now won't pick up the 3 network and my sim is indeed functioning properly.
Looks like my 1st RMA on Nexus 5.
Oh and to top the bad news off I lost my wallet....

SIM not in database

Not really a question, more of a statement....
So, my Pixel arrived today from Verizon.... Cool, lots to play with before I am basically locked up away from home the next two days.
Open the box, nice phone, start it up, did a factory refresh (do this every time now for all new phones), and then inserted the SIM and started it up again...
The Phone Activation for the phone doesn't work. Thought at first, it was due to low signal, it not very strong where I live but never been a problem before... still nothing.
Call the 800 number it shows... talk to the rep and there is something weird, the IMEI and ICCID numbers are not in their database... how that happen?
Rep finally says I can take the phone in to a store and they will fix it (Can't do that today) or they can fill out paperwork to get it corrected. 12-24 hours.
Hmmm.... really no choice as I will have no access at all tomorrow and friday so I have to wait.
Hard to fathom that a phone from Verizon shipped to me from them is not properly setup in their database. Still using my Nexus 5X for phone but have the Pixel all setup ready to go when it activates. Just can't use it as a phone yet.
Finally, it activated. BTW, really like the phone a lot.
Well this turned out to be just a waste of time.
A day or two later the phone would only get 1xRTT and no celluar data. No calls in, no calls out... This was the day before Xmas. So the day after they had one on hold for me since stores were running out of stock. I went into the store they insisted I change the SIM card first and it seemed to work,
But when I got home it started to do the same thing. Other phones didn't have any issues there.
Naturally, the phone on hold was now gone. Told they would ship out a replacement... Nothing... checked almost daily and they said they were waiting for phones.
This morning, I was told it would not ship until the 20th of this month which would be almost a full month since I got the phone.
I canceled the order.
