And btw, "by the way," who uses spell check on forums? If anyone fails here, its you for making this thread, honestly, what type of answer were you looking for with this thread? On that note don't you hate calibrating your phone every hour it's a pain in my ass yet so simple to do. It almost makes me want to stick to a rom. Just for the fact of knowing that I have to calibrate it again and again and again.

You didn't read the first couple of posts in the Dutty thread. You didn't post this in the thread on that ROM...which is where this belongs. You didn't read the Wiki page on Dutty's ROMs and you didn't search the thread for the answer. Now you have forced me into it. I have to go kick a bunch of puppies. I have to shave a few kittens and throw them in that big pool of water. And it's all because you didn't do any of these things that follow forum etiquette and would have answered your question because it's been addressed many dozens of times before. I cannot take the blame for the punishment of those cute furry animals. This is all because of your post. All you had to do was check the wiki to see that you need to install the Disable XT9 cab file to fix this. But no...you wanted me to punish the puppies and kittens.

In the future, however, please keep questions related to a specific ROM in that ROM's thread. You will get help faster that way and you won't get smacked about with a large trout whilst being flamed.

Thirdly, personal attacks are not wanted or needed and are, in fact, in poor taste and show that you have a high level of immaturity. So it took me many hours to figure this out, and I am sure there are some people staying up late at night trying to unlock there AT&T tilt's. You may succeed in unlocking your tilt, but what happened to your camera? Or what happened to your calls? Its all messed up right?
Thats what XDA developers would like to call, the "Radio". Your radio is not liking your phone so it acts up.
Long story short, start here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=375583 with the Kaiser unlock. Follow all of that mumbo jumbo than when your done, go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=421007. This second link is the original radio for your tilt that will pretty much restore the phone to its normal radio, yet keep your phone unlocked and kick BUTT!!!!!
Enjoy and if there is there is anybody you should donate to it would be either of those links
NOTE!!!!!! The second link can be performed ONLY on the AT&T tilt. Not the TYTN II, or any other type, just the Tilt.

Truth be told, I am a noobie just getting the hang of it all
the purpose of this thread was to save some people some time. I spent many hours on my phone, and once i found the solution, I decided to spread the word. If I did something wrong or could have posted this in a better fashion, than please, somebody let me know. Besides that.

Maybe looking back, you should have kept all of your games in a single thread and maintained it there but at the same time, each app DOES justify a new thread as per the XDA-Developers.com rules AFAIK.

i have made games for qvgq vga and wvga i couldnt post them together because it takes me 1-3 weeks apart and by then my old thread would be gone from opening list. But now moderators are pm me saying keep spam down and one moderator said something that pissed me off.He said something about warez.How the hell could i be posting any warez if i made my own games?and all the games i made where 1 to 3 levels max.Wow i cracked a 3 level game.How dumb is it to say that when none of the games i made are for sale, thats just plain stupid.I just want all my stuff of here so when i go on google or yahoo i dont see my games on xda-developers.Xda-developers did say that if any developer requests thier items to be off thier site they will honor that.But i have asked and they have not honored.So i guess they not as honorable as they claim they are.

LOL your logic and responses are baffling. Don't flatter yourself, nobody is following you around the site. Nobody is in your face. Nobody cares. YOU are in OUR faces. Posting separate threads once a week for your incomplete games that nobody downloads, then posting every other month that you're done here. The fits and temper tantrums were entertaining at first, but now they're getting old.
I posted once in one of your game threads and once here. All i said was that you love mario, that you'd be better off keeping your games in one thread (apparently you don't understand the benefits of organization and unification), and that your domain name is awkwardly long. Then you reply with insults and obscenities. Because of that, i've had no problem being brutally honest with you.
Keep it up... your reputation is already ruined here, not that it was ever a good one in the first place. Nobody downloaded your games before, do you think they will start after your display of childishness here? Nope.

I suggest that you cool down request the MOD to delete this thread or close it.
Maybe you have the potential to make some really nice games.
But you need patience to make good things and you don;t need to get offended if someone does not like your work.
You need to be more determined to make something even better so that next time everyone likes it.
See if you just go on ranting swears which are not allowed on this forum and neither appreciated by anyone people will not start appreciating you people will only dislike you and then even if you make any good stuff looking at your track record people would not want to try it.

Since it seems i overstayed my welcome and iam tired of this fight.So this is the solution i will post my username and password here.I am going to go through all my threads and delete my comments and games.For all the people who hate me if you log in as me you can go through my threads and delete my stuff tonce this is finished and all my stuff is deleted i will ask moderator to ban the username and then i will be gone from here.After i leave xda-developers will be a better place.My username is public with password so iam no longer liable

I do not see your posts as being spam (if you want spam look at my post count. lol), even if they could be organized a lot better. A new application warrants a new thread, though it is better if you do it in the original thread.
Seriously, if you just took a step back and listened to what people say, theres quite a lot that only want to help, or even give you compliments, yet you insist on attacking them or coming back at them as if they said you were horrible.
Now It is understandable if english is not your first language (I am assuming here,) then things can get lost in translation which is understandable. But with that said sometimes you have to be patient and let things slide just in case it is that.
And if it isn't language, then you really need to just take a chill pill and have yourself a vacation because you seem very tense.

This strikes me as incredible dumb, and incredibly naive on the part of Samsung. They really should not be promoting such a dangerous habit. It might "help" by showing you the road, but you are still distracted. Can;t wait to see samsung sued for such a blatantly stupid feature

It's not meant for driving, but WALKING, you know that thing that doesn't involve a vehicle? Everyone thinks everyone needs to get sued these days. Give it a break.

Yes, because when you think ROAD you think "Lets talk a walk", moron. They can say its for walking, that doesnt mean people wont use it while driving. In fact, I'd wager the majority of its users will be driving.

so im about to do it. been wanting a tablet for some time and as nice as the xoom looks for 1/2 the price this make sense.
can a newbie root? i dont know the first thing about programming. ive searched the forums, and i see roms, and all these things i dont even know what they are. TNT programs, which sound not so newb friendly lol....and i want to know if there is a basic root that i may be able to follow. root for dummies is what im looking for.
and also, if i screw this up can i revert back to the original way this thing was?
sorta nervous to order and not use it to the fullest potential but seems like without rooting its not worth a crap.
i know probably asked 100 times, but ive searched and just cant find basic rooting 101 concepts. read the faqs - nothing so straight forward that i found.

This was the post that helped me the most. Have you rooted and installed new ROMs on Android devices before? It's not difficult, but does require that every last instruction is read. Twice. And look at posts about people "bricking" their tablets to see what they might have done wrong, or what they had to do to fix their problems. Don't worry about rooting; I've rooted a MyTouch 3g, a TMobile Vibrant and this tablet and it was the easiest by far. I'd like to say that the stock software sucks, but I can't. I purchased this tablet because I knew I would be rooting and ROMing and only had about ten minutes in the store and ten minutes at home with the original software. It wasn't horrible, but I do know that Vegan 5.1 flies and is very stable.
READ READ READ and search your face off for your problems before posting. Many people frown on oft asked questions here. I see a lot of people writing about how easy it is to search to get your answer, but I'm not a fan of the XDA search function for many reasons. So, Google is your friend. When searching Google, be sure to state your issue clearly and concisely, and in as few words as possible. Oh, but do include "XDA" in your search, or "site:forum.xda-developers.com" if you want to only search the XDA Developers forum.

(1) We don't mind newbies, although it's nice if they actually respect the hard work of the people here by pressing the shift button to capitalize where appropriate. It would also be appreciated if they don't use run-on sentences.
(2) We highly recommend against modding for people like you. Just turn it on, update what viewsonic has for you, and everything will run just fine. We recommend you play with the gtab for a while before taking the plunge.
(3) You don't need to know programming to root. This thread will give you step by step instructions on how to do the essential things of modding. These instructions are so easy even a cave man could do it.
(4) That said, again, their stock rom + update should be good enough for someone like you. I have 2 gtabs. I've modded one and kept the other one as is. Trust me, it's more than sufficient for your needs.

I was referring to the part where he refuses to use the shift key. It's a pet peeve of mine. To me, it's a sign of respect to talk properly and write properly.
goodintentions - I was thanking adampdx but appreciate your input as well. I read his reply and his link provided and at first glance it seemed helpful. With that said, I also appreciate you letting me know the stock VS GT is pretty good and perhaps I will leave it as is when I get it. People make it out to be like this thing is so unsable out of the box, which apparently isnt the case. I just want to be able to get to the market and download a few apps I like using on my droid pro phone, thats all. Additionally I will use capitals and try watching the run on sentences. I was just excited to post and get involved.

I think your whole thing is condescending, including that rant you posted in the General section about the "wooters". If you wanted to be helpful you could do a write up and review about the stock ROM and make suggestions of what to do to make it better. This singling out of a group of people is rude and dangerous. You create an environment that is hostile and discourages fresh ideas. There are always kinder words to use and gentler ways to guide people.

Not to mention there be members who may not use English as a primary language and therefore may not be familiar with all of its intricacies. Respect begets respect. You get more when you offer more.
Well, here is my thought on why people are giving it such bad reviews.
(1) They compared it to the ipad right out of the box. Yes, the stock UI isn't the greatest thing, but it's usable. And after the update, it should work just fine.
(2) People were expecting an ipad when they bought this device. This is why I've been repeating over and over that this ain't no ipad.
(3) People have money coming out of their ears, so they want the bests and greatests. The slightest disadvantage and they will make it sound like the tablet exploded or something.
(4) Which brings me to my next point. People like to exaggerate.
I've always been a simple person. I like to work with what I have. I also hate Apple products with a passion. I only own one Apple product. I got my ipod (30 gig one) as a gift years ago. I've been thinking for a while to look for something that is light weight so I could drag it along for work and other activities. My laptop seems like it weighs a ton some time. That said, after I've done the appropriate moddings and installed the apps I wanted, the viewsonic gtab seems like a dream come true for me. It works incredibly fast. I didn't buy this thing to watch videos and listen to music. I have my tv and ipod for that. That said, I really think viewsonic is sitting on top of a goldmine with this device. I don't know why they haven't done more to publicize it.

Oh, please, I can tell the difference between a non-engrish speaker and someone who's just lazy. I'm a non-native english speaker. In another thread, I mentioned that I was born in a house with a dirt floor and grew up with a 4 inch black and white tv. I wasn't kidding.

Well, I apologize if what I said offended some people. But what I stated was a fact. Because of all the exaggerated reviews of how god-aweful the stock UI and screen are, average people get the wrong idea. They feel that they have to mod the device the moment they get their hands on it.
All I'm suggesting people do is give the updated stock rom a chance. Give it a few days before they decide to take the plunge. There's really no prettier way to say it.

Ah, all of this being said, I do think this whole thing is funny and a giant waste of time. I've also been noticing that the forums seem sluggish, and I'm getting strange messages from the server from time to time about not being able to load forum pages. I think all of our babble is bogging down the servers. And with the impending onslaught of wooters, we should probably knock it off.
