Hello everyone,
i am new to this forum and wanted to seek advice from some pro's. I just bought a ATT/Tilt/Kaiser and I am trying to install a cooked ROM but I read that you need to first do a CIC unlock? Is this true? Well i tried both and everytime no luck! I connect to my PC with usb cord and when i try to install my activsync disconnects on its own. Well due to disconnecting it never gets to complete the download process(installing cooked Rom). My question is: am I doing this wrong? Why is my activsync connection disconnecting on its own when i try to down load the cooked rom? I really appreciate any help i can get. Thank you everyone!

STOP!!!!
BEFORE YOU MESS UP YOUR PHONE ...go read the kaiser wiki and pay close attention to the rom upgrading section. Trust me it will do you great good and save you from alot of headaches.
Before you flash a rom you need to get a hardspl on your device. If you don't know what this is please don't do anything to your phone until you have done your homework, taken notes, memorized steps, and taken a 8 hour sleep (well maybe skip sleep).
and remember WIKI IS YOUR BEST FRIEND

Did you NOT read about JUMP-SPL ?
Try page 1 ( yes the very first page ) of the kaiser wiki.

Hello, and thanks for you advice. Yes i have actually read about the hardspl,i downloaded: kaiser-hardSPLv1, but the issue still remains. My activsync connection fails as the hardsplv1 tries to install. I am not sure why i am loosing connection. I have made sure the connection from my PC and tilt via usb cord are pluged in well. Do you know what i need to do now? Thanks Mel, also would you mind calling me or can I call you for assistance with this issue?

I recently had my i imate ppc repaired, as it wouldnt charge. Since then i havent been able to use the usb connection, I some how wiped out my wm 2003 rom and have been trying to reinstall it but cant seem to get any futher than the error 101 connection, I have sent the phone back to the repairer and he has said that its a sofware problem, at the moment there is no software on it, I only have the bootloader screen which says, Serial, or USB when the usb cable is connected.
Can anyone out there please let me know if there is anyway i can get the room back on this or ist it a brick.
if the boot loader screen says usb when plugged in, then you CAN flash a ROM, check the forum for whichever your device is

OK, i don't have a Himalaya or a 2003 device, but,
download the original ROM from whoever sold you the phone, flash that to get back to a working phone. no programme required, just dl and run it, then read everything in

i know what went wrong. The cpu usage during the install was 100% which seems to indicate a conflict between the install and what was loaded on my machine. Recovered my phone by reflashing after turing off 'allow connection via usb' in active sync...and reflashing with the default imate image. Then I installed wm6 with no issues.

if u have a front side usb connector and a back side (back of the pc) then use the front side. If u had used the front side then use the back side this can help and solve the problem !!! had the same problem but resolve it by doing that. So if u have used the back usb connectore of pc use the front side usb connectore of pc and vise-versa. Hoop that it helps just give it a shot !!!

Dude, I answered you on another thread. You have to read and learn this stuff. Go read the Wiki and read and learn the stickies in the top of the Wizard upgrading forum.

it's my first post hire in forum.
I tryed flash a new WM6 Image for HTC Wizard. It's not a first flash of my smartphone. Everytime wirks everything fine, but at this time hase my WinXP system reboot at flashing process. I has not see any bluescreen or like that.
Now is my smartphone at 31% of flashing. How can I resume a flashing or how can I flash the OS in to the phone?
The phone is not turned of. It's since the problem on.
Please give me a Tipp bovor the battary is off.

Make sure the device is powered off and then hold the camera button while powering on. This will bring you to bootloader mode. Connect your device via USB and then flash your carriers latest Rom. This will restore your Wizard to life.
Once you have a phone again and not a paperweight then make sure you do some reading before you try to upgrade again. There are alot of stickies that will teach you how to complete the upgrade process successfully and reading the Wiki helps too.

Hello to all,
I'm new on this forum and let me thank everyone !!!
I've an AT&T Tilt 8925.
First of all I tried both the ways suggested in the threads to install the hardSPL but I've always the same problem:
I've no problem to install on my device the JumpSPL1.56-KAIS.exe (or the 1.93) but when I launch the KaiserCustomRUU.exe I follow the instructions on my pc and after the program has detected my rom version (1.57) and
has started the installation of the HardSPL (at least it seems) the activesync connection disappears (it becames grey) and the RUU shows an "error" and suggests me how to restore my device leaving the battery etc. (but to restore everything it's enough a just soft reset)
Please can you help me???

No need to apologize. The one in which you got the hardspl files.
Okay, I'm gonna answer this because it's buried in the HardSPL thread & hard to find since it was answered once about a month ago by me. Diconnect your device, do NOT reset. Run thru the recovery or close out the HardSPL flash.(You are using Flash HardSPL w/ the RUU, right?) Reconnect your device & run the utility again.
If this doesn't work it's because I'm partially guessing. You've not provided nearly enough information. I need to know what SPL version your device currently has, also if you are running a firewall & which one, also if you use any McCafee products.

What ROM did you upgrade to? If it was to a WM6 ROM using the "new" upgrade method, you may have failed to hard SPL your device. What ever the cause, the solution (as ever) can be found on the wiki.
yes you are right i didnt HARDSPL my device befor updating with (ROM

If the device can get into bootloader, it should be possible to recover it In my previous post there was a link to the wiki page for recovering devices from bootloader. If you want any more info, I'll be happy to try and help...
thx for the quick reply but my problem now is if i connect the phone i can see the usb on the screen alright but the computer doesnt sync it and if i go ahead and update the rom i get error make sure the usb/cradle is connected properly i dont know what to do plssssssssss i need help to revive this phone thx in advance
