I am using Dr Gonzo's 6.1 ROM on my HTC Vox. I installed emoze client on my hand set (which is a freeware of course), However I faced a very irritating problem after which I uninstalled it, though it was very useful:
If there is signal, but for some reason, GPRS connectivity was not there, emoze will hang my handset! And of course, there is no way for me to know it. Mind it , I am from India and there is nothing called QOS in mobile services in India
Can any one has any idea?

I have the server stuff set up (as far as I know) correctly. I have synced on a schedule just fine, but I want it to sync "when new items arrive". The option is there, but O2 can't help supply the device SMS address.
I've tried [myphonenumber]@o2.co.uk but it didn't work. This is probably an O2 specific problem, but O2 customer services couldn't help.
Any advice greatly appreciated
i have SBS2003 at work and we never got this to work
we just the the phone to sync ever 5 mins over gprs and we have never had a problem.
Wait for Exchange 2003 Service Pack 2 due out later this year. That will do push-mail like Blackberry does.
yea O2 don't do do that.
WIN offer that service. They call it Textmail: www.winplc.com/products/textmail.aspx
Bit costly though. You pay for an SMS for every email poll. Much better to wait for Exchange SP2 as that will poll via gprs - like Blackberry.
Hi there
I am unable to sign in to my pocket MSN messenger
When I click sign in, it creates a GPRS connection and comes up signing in, it stays on this for about 3-5 mins and then I get the error
"Logon to MSN Messenger service failed because the service is not responding, please try again later"
Any ideas?
Thanks
Tim
I have the same problem with my Blueangel. A good answer would be great.
I think I've had this message when the GPRS connection has failed or is unavailable. Can you connect to the internet or do anything else using GRPS?

I had this problem, it was cured when I upgraded my ROM, but since I've upgraded to the latest AKU 2.3 ROM it has returned. I don't know what the solution is, perhaps reinstalling Messenger would do the job, but how you go about that I'm not too sure??
yes can on internet

where at on internet?? I've searched the MSN site and there's no installation file ont here as far as I can see, the only file is an upgrade fro WM2002 or WM2003.
I've searched on here for the problem and loads of people seem to have the same issue, yet there no one offers any sort of a solution. Anyone any ideas?
I realized that MSN live mobile beta is still having connnection problem which is normal, however, does this also affect the ORIGINAL msn messenger? I am always getting the Service is not responding error which severely interfere with my communication with my clients. Any clue?
Ok so I flashed to WM6.1 got everything finally going and decided to get my email setup. Got my yahoo mail account and my gmail account started then tryed to sync and keep getting this message:
Dialed: isp.cingular
Cannot connect for an unknown reason.....
I think i need to manually set something up, possibly "My ISP" in settings. Can someone please inform me. I searched, but couldn't find a thing on 6.1 and AT&T.
Thanks

Here are the settings you should use.
trying to locate the ATT proxy manager.....anyone have it close by?
It sounds like the same problem I had.
You need to change the advance server settings on the individual accounts to use medianet. You can find the setting in onhthe Outgoing mail server page when you are checking the setting on the email accounts.

changed settings and rebooting as we speak.
now I get this message
Cannot connect with current connection settings
tried to remove and restore proxy settings with no luck
having the same issue, any more ideas out there?
I had this problem also.. this is why I went back to 6.0
ok so with WIFI connected I am able to sync my email. when I set the connection to Media Net, Work, and The Internet I get the error sync message. I have removed and restored proxy.
anything else?
I think there could be a larger problem. My Internet stopped working late Tuesday (Feb 5, 2008) afternoon. A quick perusal of the Kaiser and Kaiser upgrading etc. forums in looking for a solution to my problem suggests others may be experiencing the same thing.
Can only get online using PIE
I cant use AT&T internet on certain apps?
Opera Mini works but not PIE?
Internet stopped working on my Tilt at around 8pm PST today. Seems to be working fine now though.
Similar problem here
Running Dutty 6.1 Beta. 2 yahoo accounts, 1 gmail - tried auto and manual IMAP configuration. None can connect using MediaNet. However, both Internet and Outlook push from exchange server work fine.
Turn on Wifi, then Yahoo/Gmail work. Connect through USB ActiveSync, then Yahoo/Gmail work. Very strange...
Hey guys, its not an upgrade issue, its a network issue, here's some more info over here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=366104
ok so with everything set to connect via Media Net I get not connection, still get the error.....WELL.....this morning I work up and the phone had sync'd?
What the heck? So i am guessing the connection is set correct, maybe I just have a stubborn phone? I will test and try things out today
I had the same problem Post 2 and 4 fixed my problem.

I can't believe I missed that setting! That was it! It was default to "The Internet".

Thanks for this post, dragonacc, you just saved my butt after I installed a new ROM!!
I had the same issue moving to Dutty's DualTouch v4, so it has nothing to do with 6.1 vs 6.0. It was the "by default" setting. Turns out that streaming media and Pocket Outlook were trying to use the "My ISP" setting rather than MediaNet. Fixing the default fixed it for them, too.
hi,
i am having an issue on my TytnII where i cannot get my email to download from Yahoo.
in pocket outlook, almost mediately when i click send/receive i get 'error syncronising' in bottom left hand corner then a bubble appears with 'cannot connect : cannot connect with current connection settings....'.
any idea whats causing this?
i can get web access no problems and all other comms seem to work fine. Just can't get email to work.
any help appreciated!
p.s. my phone is a UK O2 Stellar (unlocked) and i'mm on t-mobile, dunno if that makes any difference. Standard 02 ROM i think.
if you're positive that your out and inports are set correctly
and ssl and the likes are set correctly
then maybe your cellphone network may be blocking those ports
in which case you can try the same using wifi bluetooth or usb to performe
the same operations
using Wifi i can get a bit further so there is definately and issue with my email contacting the mail server via GSM.
But i think there are also issues with my setting so i will try that first, when i get it working solid through wifi i will try to sort the GSM issues.
thanks,
i have it working fine over wifi now but still having same issue with GSM.
any idea how to resolve? change ports?
i had email working fine on my old phone (hermes) using same SIM and email address.
hi,
i am still experiencing the problem listed in the initial post.
I can connect to internet and browse websites, can access mail on yahoo website, MMS and SMS both work fine but still get 'error syncronising' and 'cannot connect : cannot connect with current connection settings....' when i try to use pocket outlook to download my POP mail.
it works fine when usig WiFi so must be an issue to do with the setting that pocket outlook uses for connecting to web but i cannot see where i can change this.
any help appreciated.
all the experts on this forum who know WM inside out and noone has even a suggestion to help with this problem?
sorry if it is too simple for you, but quite simply, i don't know how to fix it!
Hmmm,
I would say you answered your own question! It just looks like your GSM network provider is blocking this ports since your email settings seem to be correct (otherwise it would not have worked via Wi-Fi either!), so, you will have a hard time finding a solution.
However, here a not-so-convenient workaround:
If you can access other (non-YAHOO) pop-email accounts, try to forward all incoming YAHOO email to that email account, then set also your outgoing messages regarding to the functioning pop email account but as reply email use the YAHOO.
Try to contact your GSM network provider's technical stuff to verify your settings / ports. If they can asure you that this ports are not blocked, well, then there is only 1 other party to contact: YAHOO themself!
If you are a paid YAHOO SUBSCRIBER and you upgraded to the pop email account at YAHOO, they might be able to walk you through. If you use only YAHOO's free email: the free service does not work with pop email clients - only via their webmail.
hi,
thanks for the suggestions.
i am fairly convinced it is nothing to do with Yahoo as i can access when using wifi so that rules them out (no?) it also confirms the pop settings etc are correct as i can send and received mail with no problems.
using GSM I can access the rest of the web and i have previously used the same sim in another WM device to access email with no problems so forbidding a change to t-mobiles policy at exactly the same time as i switched phones i think it leaves only the phone as the possible cause.
i have tried t-mobiles technical helpdesk who are still to get back to me after 3 days... i am not holding my breath.
i think it may be something to do with it being an O2 phone/ROM and that it may be trying to connect using their settings when using email? does that sound reasonable?
i will flash a new ROM in the new year when i get new satnav software to replace the dodgy copy of TomTom on the device when it was delivered. hopefully that will solve it.
Thanks for your help.
