Adding additional Language support - Touch Pro, Fuze General

Just got my TP last week. ROM version is a WWE. I try putting a pmingliu.ttc into the font folder and unable to read traditional chinese characters in my contacts. Any fix? I would like to keep the WWE ROM because I don't need the CHT menus.
BTW, this is a great community of ppl working on various WM phone. And they say all the developers are going over to iPhone app store. Keep it up.
Peace.

KoreChiThai
Have recently tested the following cab package on WM6.1 devices, Diamonds & Pro's with help of forum members.
This cab installs font & regional settings to support Chinese, Korean & Thai.
Will also work on WM5 devices,
Input SIPs are also included.
Give it a go ! FontPDA KoreChiThai

Anyone also has a working Cab file for adding dutch language support?? Reading is no problem since its normal letters, but I'd like to keep my english rom with autocompletion for dutch.
Hope somebody has a solution for that!
Thanks

Thank you

Hi!
@jcasplinter:
This has been already covered, take a look at this thread/post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2786675&postcount=6
After that I suggest you take a look at this other one, if you want to "tweak" your predictive texting (T9):

BTW, next time try the search tool, you might get your questions answered much quicker than doing the "posting and waiting" routine...
Cheers!

Please let me know how to read korean/japanese in my HTC Diamond CDMA TELUS.
I dont want to flash my rom but would love to have some cab file that will allow me to use T7 English/Korean/Japanese
Thanks. My email is [email protected] and please let me know thanks again

The link for the FontPDA KoreChiThai is dead. Could someone please re-upload the files? Thank you!

Downloaded the FontPDA KoreChiThai.exe file and tried to install this on my Fuze on my storage card. But I keep on getting a error message that says this program is not a valid PocketPC application. Any clues as to why I am getting this error?

run it in windows... choose a folder to extract and all the cabs and instructions will be in that folder.
copy cabs to microsd and install as instructions say

I had trouble initially (on SD and w/out resets), but once installed directly on device with proper attention to resetting after each cab everything works like a charm! This program is so wonderful. Thank you! I have searched and searched and found nothing NOTHING that compares!
Briefly: We are a mixed ethnically European/Korean Christian family learning Korean and I use Pocket E-Sword regularly. Now I can enjoy the Korean bibles as well! Thank you so much!

This cab is nice but has some problems. If I set region to "English(USA)", all programs I installed have no problem to run, and some of programs cannot show chinese properly. If I set to "Chinese", a few programs failed to start. e.g. Microsoft Bing etc. I have CE-Star before, all programs work fine, but it requires to register after a few days. Can someone improve this cab???

Big 5 support
here is what i use on my TP...i can read Chinese (big5) with no prob, sms/opera....etc
just install (uhei00m-gray.cab), HTC Chinese Support

Hello Man
about the First
The jasjar arabizer will not work yet on himalaya , i'll be working on that but nothing to promise
about the Second
Man are you speaking about jasjar cabs or about the cabs that i posted ?
the link you provided is for a rar archive that is password protected
please download the cabs i posted and try them on your himalaya
you can find the at this link also:

hi amalkaedbey,
about the second,i am talking about the jasjar cabs, and the link is for extended rom of jasjar which contain the cabs.
The password is ce4arab
i have downloaded ur cabs but still not tested.
thanks for your reply
Hi amalkaedbey
I have installed the cabs as you mentiond and found the following:
1- English-Arabic-Dict.CAB des not work, and I was able to install another cab. I found.
2-The letters in arabic reading left also each letter is far than the other.
as: ش ك ر ا
if you where able to fix them pls. let me know.

i will first answer nb 2
if u noticed there are 2 cabs for arabic : arabic reader.cab and arabizer .cab the first will install arabic fonts and character support the second will enable right to left character display (that is arabizing)
Enabling right to left is made by a program that should run on startup if u installed the arabizer.cab ; but sometimes it gives an error message "failed to initialize" : no big deal just go to start->programs->imaginet-> enable arabizer now
then enjoy arabizer
by the way this arabizer will not work on BlueAngel (imate pda2k) devices yet
one more thing :
something that happened with a friend of mine , do not disable arabizer from control panel
if you try to disable arabizer from the control panel you will not be able to let it be automatically enable unless you copy the shortcut "enable arabizer now.lnk" from "\windows\start menu\programs\imaginet\" to
"\windows\startUp\"
about nb 1
since arabizer is not working all imaginet program like dictionarry stop to work
i would please like to know if this solved your problem
i would love if u can tell me what is ur device and what version of magneto are you working on
thamk you
to mjamalm
i did download the rar archive the password worked but another error appeared saying that the archive is corrupt

WM6 Crossbow English Edition with Simplified Chinese viewing. 30MB RAM free!

I have been using a WM6 Crossbow English Edition ROM (cooked by me) with Simplified Chinese (and Traditional Chinese and Japanese) viewing capabilities for over a month now. It's rock solid and stable. The best part is that after the flash, it still has 30MB RAM free!
This rom is a plain vanilla ROM with wince.nls replaced. New font sunfon.ac3 added. Everything is original either directly from Microsoft ROM or HTC addon. Maybe that's why it is rock solid and just works.
I generally use English and want a ROM that is minimally changed to enable occasional viewing of Chinese web sites.
I upload the rom and the kitchen I used to cook this rom. I hope any update you made can be shared here as well. Any suggestions (I am sure there will be plenty) are more than welcome.
. Download Windows Mobile Crossbow English Edition ROM with Simplified Chinese (and Traditional Chinese and Japanese) viewing capabilities from mobiletux.com
Note that I also included G4 SoftSPL Flash any ROM to CID locked G4 in the zip file so the phone warranty should be intact. You could certainly use your usual way of flashing the rom.
. Download Kitchen used to cook above rom from mobiletux.com
Note that this kitchen is a slight modificiation from theloon's "Official 318 WM6 kitchen". I claim no credit for any of the programs in the package. Quote from the thread: In the end I'm sure we all wanted WM6 but we wanted a stable version that didn't crash, lock up, and just plain ol' worked!
Also I don't know how to create a package that will replace WinCE.nls and add the font file and registry info. So the wince.nls was replaced with the new one, sunfont.ac3 and registry info were added via HTC Button 1.5. So please include HTC Button 1.5 when cooking your own rom. The original wince.nls was in the zip file at root for the reference as well (but not used).
No input method was included yet, because I haven't found a way to include the preferrably the original input method from a WM6 pro Chinese ROM.
How to create your own ROM: all you have to do is just run Start-V1.2.bat and follow the on-screen instructions.
Some screenshots for what the settings are when creating your own ROM.
I also included the original PDF instruction created by FARIA for description.

Cool, thanks. Is it possible to use penpower for Chinese input or I still need CE-star?
Part of the reasons to post this is that I don't know how to include a default input method. I am hoping to get a default Simplified Chinese input method from a rom instead of CE-Star.

Thank you. So, No Chinese input, just view, right? Simple Chinese?
No input yet. You could view Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and Japanese.
I'll wait for a cab...
Tempting... but loving the speed of the latest ROMs...
Be sure to tell us if they make one based on the 19xx roms or create a cab...
Still no cab eh?
Anybody know if the wince.nls file can be replaced via a cab?
Just to reconfirm, the only changes made to the kitchen is the wince.nls, addition of the font and some registry settings? If someone can upload just the necessary files, maybe I can create a cab and see if it works. I'm currently using Loon's V8.1 kitchen and kinda lazy to dl an older kitchen just to get three files...
Has anybody had the chance to see if the font is compatible with all programs? The last time I used a font viewing cab, it changed the "/" to a "$" in Total Commander...

Arabic Language Files or ROM anyone???

I have come to the conclusion why Arabizer is not working on many of the newly updated ROMS. It has to do with the Arabic Language not being installed in the roms.
ATT Rom does not have it, HTC newest ROM either. I have looked everywhere for the language packs including google. I gave up so what I am asking is..
does anyone have the language files. I know L2 must be using them in his ROMs as Arabizer is working
The only programs I found costs money.... so if anyone has the latest Arabic Language ROM or the files needed they would be highly appreciated for my next build
i don't know anything about this, but you could try here. i found some threads about ppc there, so...
i am looking into the arabizer cabs, however im short on time. If anyone finds a good solution or has an OEM package that we can cook in, i would be more than willing to incorporate this into my roms!
Basically, there are three Arabizer programs.
1. IMAGiNet.
2. MOBiDiv (latest version of IMAGiNet and usually don't work with the v6.1 ROMs).
3. InforMobility (mostly works, but in my opinion it is not as good as IMAGiNet).
All the above 3 programs are paid software. They do have 30 days trial. If one owns iMate devices than I believe IMAGiNet comes free with hardware. And, if one owns the O2 devices than I believe that InforMobility come free with the device. This is basically included in the AR ROMs.
The PROBLEM with v6.1 ROMs:
Most of the time with all the latest cooked ROMs by almost all the chefs, the software keyboard doesn't work. One cannot select the Arabic or any other keyboards. So the Arabizer might work but the keyboard does't. This includes many keyboards, including Rosco, TouchPal and so forth.
See here!
In conclusion, I can upload the IMAGiNet Arabizer for testing purposes, which has the 30 days trial.
KOR!
Problem is that I can too download the Arabizer but it won't install on any WM6.1 device.... It needs the Arabic language files in the ROM in order to work properly.
hi there, attached below is the cab file i found in the dump rom of my kaiser.
hope this help.
look for file called FJE.V6 it should work
Hi,
I am NOT endorsing to use pirated software in anyway, but to say that all 3 software are paid software is a bit overstated.
I have researched this Arabizer problem thouroughly and posted a summary on a different forum (in Arabic). What King of Rapture has mentioned is correct bu needs some clarification.
1) Official Arabizer that came with the device is from Informobility called Fe Jebi Ein and the most recent version is 6.1. So far, this version works fine on most (if not ALL) ROMs based on WM 6.1 (I am running it now on HyperDragon).
2) During the i-mate era (when HTC devices were sold under the i-mate brand), Arabizer was provided by a company called ImagiNet. They have so many versions such as 339, and 342 to name a few. Up to Windows 6.0, these versions have been working fine.
3) ImagiNet was then bought by Mobidiv which released new versions such as 407 and 411. ROMs from Dutty and Leo support 407 (411 installs the Arabic interface by default and therefore it is not recommended to test with it initially) on WM 6.1 although the compatibility was not full. Problems have more surfaced with WM 6.1 ROMs ported from Diamond. Contacts do not show anymore and clicking on the Multilangual Support icon does nothing.
HTC has been using different Arabizers from different companies. For example, the Arabizer on the Kaiser was JFE 6.1 but on the Cruise was from Mobidiv. People have been able to port the Arabizer from the Cruise and install it on the Kaiser because they like it more.
I am willing to answer any question regarding the Arabizer. Please let me know exactly what you are looking for.

Version 6.1 is much better because it supports the external Keyboard on the Kaiser.
BTW, forgot to mention that the latest official Middle East ROM from HTC does NOT have the Arabizer. Looks like HTC does not care much anymore about releasing an Arabized ROM and leaves it up to the user to install his/her preferred Arabizer.

OK mate; from experience, here are the rules of thumb:
1) Better install the Arabizer immediately after a Hard reset. If you try to install one and it fails, it is better to HR again and try another one.
2) The one posted earlier will NOT work on your ROM; you can verify that; this is in fact what we are trying to solve.
3) The other Arabizer FJE 6.1 will install on your ROM.
Steps to get FJE 6.1:
1)) Goto samery.4shared.com
2) password is "ce4arab" without quotes
3) In the left pane, goto to Kaiser > Arabizer
4) In the right pane, download March_11_fje_1_of_2_arabic.zip
That's all what you need for the Arabizer; file 2 of 2 is just additional applications.
All credit goes to the Genius people at ce4arab.
Edit: I am leaving work now and will be offline for few hours; will touch base with you later; you can experiment with both Arabizers.

German customatization of Opentouch Roms

Hello there,
anyone tried to change WM6.1 to german or another language?
Actually, I work with the "OpenTouch"-roms. Many thanks for this. These are amazing roms!
I'm able to translate the Manila2D plugin. I attached this file. This file imports a translated 0409.mui. This works great!
When I import *.0407.mui-Files I'm not able to run the Phone Dialog, the contacts Dialog or the SMS-Dialog. This also happens when I rename the Manila2d.0409.mui into Manila2D.0407.mui. After that I change through registry the language to 0407.
The import of this Files are also attached. I try also every not existing 0407 file, which is there as 0409, to 0407.
I have the same issue => I cannot run phone,- contacts and SMS-dialog.
Can anyone help me?
P.S.: OpenTouch 7.3.1 works great without modifications!
pls help me
I try to extract the *.mui files from WM6.1 and I copy these to windowsfolder the next reboot the system is rebooting again and again.
Could anyone help me?
The German rom is : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=420008
The Open Touch Version is : 7.3.1
THANKS!

You can not recook herald roms since they are protected.
There are no rgu files include so the rom will not work when you try to recook them.
If you want a german version, please pm me and as time allows I can cook one for the german folks,
hi,
i would be very pleased, too!! the new open touch rom is great, but in a german version it would be gorgeous.

Since ttran is on his deserved holiday, this strategy should work as well to generate a largely german (or other) ot7.x phone (Manilla2D):
download the german file in the manilla 2D language thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=432965
Copy all the unzipped files to the windows folder (this will overwrite the english language in 409 with the 407 information without needing to change the registry). Works nicely for me.
tested?
Hi,
does anyone already tested this strategy? I have no time at the moment to test and in case of brick take some hours to restore everything.

[SOLUTION] Update:New JBlend from HD Mini (WM6.5.X issue fixed) How to install JBlend

I couldn't find this anywhere so I assume no one has posted something like this before.
I flashed my HD2 to Miri's v1.2 ROM and found out I didn't have JBlend anymore. Since I could't find any other JVM that could run Opera Mini as good as JBlend (at least visually) I tried to use the package that came with ROM 1.48 and make a CAB. Unfortunately it didn't install. I removed all the files from my CAB and left the registry parts in it and it installed. I did try to apply the registry changes by importing the reg files but there seemed to a problem and all the 3 registry editors I used said "import finished" and nothing was imported. The CAB however does the job.
So for anyone trying to have the JBlend version that came with the HD2 without flashing another ROM, try this:
1. Unzip all the files in the .zip file to \Windows
AND
2. Install the attached CAB (on the device)
To get the shortcut in start menu, create a shortcut called "JBlend.lnk" pointing to "\Windows\JBlend_AMS.exe" and place it in "\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Tools"
(or wherever you want, only, the nice .png icon won't show if it's not in Tools)
Update (March 31st, 2010)
I replaced the files with the ones from the JBlend version that comes with the HD Mini (Photon). Now there's no problem with screen alignment in 6.5.X ROMs anymore.
Thanks a lot!
This solved my problem!

you guys can try out this too!
is working on my Miri's ROM.
It creates an icon for Opera Mini, making it work like an app.
however, it is buggy sometimes. When u change the input to full screen edit, you cannot press OK or Cancel after typing. This is the only major issue i faced so far.

make sure you copy all the files from the .zip file to your \Windows folder and then install the cab, soft reset and now you should be able to run JBlend_AMS.exe from the windows folder.
