Wondering if anyone is aware of a plugin that will display the phone number and carrier info on the Today screen?
you can try HudsonMobile Phone Dashboard, but it can do alot more than showing carrier...although its not free

This issue is concerning the G1 phone.
I recently downloaded an app named, Visual VoiceMail. Its supposed to be somekind of interactive list of all the voicemail I recieve, where I can interact and organize by hand on touch screen compared to calling my voicemail and deleting or saving any of my messages by touchtone.
In order for this app to work I must fill out a free registration form that includes my telephone number.
My issue is, Im not sure if they want the telephone number of my phone (I assume they do) or my voicemail telephone number. Neither phone numbers worked.
I cant figure out why either of these numbers wont work for the registration. Every time I enter in a number and try to sumbit I recieve a notice that says, "!! Registration Failed, Unable to determine this devices phone number."
I went to settings, about phone, my phone number. There was no number listed under 'my phone number' and i dont know why that is.
If anyone has any information on how i can make this app work, or how to fix the status of 'my phone number' so it does have an actual phone number (at this moment there isnt an option to edit 'my phone number') it would be greatly appreciated. thank you.
I am having problems with the way I store phones and the caller id correctly identifying it.
If for example the phone number is 99887788, that is the way I store it. But when the call comes in, it comes with a plus sign and three digit prefix, for example +12399887788.
So, I HAVE to store the number with the prefix to get the caller ID to work, which I don't want. I had this problem with a VERY VERY old phone once, but never with the new ones. I have a friend who has an older version HTC and he doesn't have that problem.
Would you please help me fix this?
No idea what would be causing it, but as a suggested work around until you do solve it, store the number as you want it but then store the number as caller id shows it in another phone number area (Mobile2?).
Hi Guys, i am all new to android and everything and i am liking the change so far only one problem i have is that i cant find the caller id section on my phone that let you show your id to contact only but other number is comes up private, it was very useful for me when i am working and i have to call a random number but i dont want them to have my phone number.

there are varoius apps u can use... or u can just type #31# before the phone number this has the same effect ( some service providers charge you for this service i don't know how much but it isn't alot) for example #31#8179834598 and they will see private on their phone
okay you said various apps, can you recommend any?? as i more interested in apps, like with the wm6.5 in was built into the rom as standard.
Hi folks,
I am trying to figure out the best way to store numbers in the phone app.
I usually store the number as 01234567890 with the leading zero so that I can call the number from anywhere in the country.
The network operator sometimes sends the caller ID as +11234567890 which is the international format. Windows phone fails to match this with the contact in my phonebook. I want it to match only the last ten digits of the number. My old dumbphone was doing this straight out of the box.
Am I missing something or does the Windows Phone 7 phone app just not support this?
Best Regards,
Gowtham
If you're in the US (I assume so, since you have country code of 1) then you might as well just store the number with the leading 1 (or +1 if it's really needed, but it shouldn't be). I have some number stored without the area code, some with area code but no country code, and some with both, and it seems to work out. A leading 0 is probably confusing the phone though.
I am based out of India at the moment. It is standard procedure to put in a 0 to call mobile phones located in a different state in our country.
After a soft reset and sync, my phone seems to function properly for now.
I'll post updates if I discover anything else.
So I have a HW2 Sport with 4G, a bit annoyed that EE don't offer a SIM for the watch with the same number as my phone but neither do any of the other networks in the UK. I have most of my workarounds working, WhatsApp works over the cellular and I use Pulse for the SMS. So I can now pretty much go for a run and have normal coms if needed.
What I am missing is the ability to hide the the number of my watch sim, I don't want anyone to see it.
The watch seems to have "Displayed Phone Number" option, although doesn't seem to do anything.
But also there doesn't seem to be any "Caller ID" type options you'd find in a mobile phone.
Any suggestions?
