Just saw the following video:
http://www.engadget.com/2008/10/13/sony-ericsson-xperia-x1-unboxed-played-with-on-video/
unboxing of the X1.
Since I live in Canada, would it be wise to change my TP to an X1? Reason is that the TP has no 3G in Canada and Rogers has not mentioned anything about it but they are getting the 3G Touch Diamond soon.
I can live without the video output and less keys on the keyboard but the video resolution might be a problem with some apps
According to pdadb.net, the X1 has more RAM than the TP.
I don't feel like buying a AT&T Fuze and having to unlock it for Rogers.
Is HTC making an unlocked North American version of the HTC Touch Pro?
The X1 has less RAM than the TP.
Ram:
TP = 288MB
X1 = 384MB

the official release of the xperia has 256 MB of RAM, not 384 like most ppl thought
I'm not sold on that X1, the TP still seems to have the upper hand - the X1's 4 row keyboard is way inferior to the 5 row on the TP in terms of user friendliness...
Also to the OP, try and import a UK TP, you get 3G/HSDPA/HSUPA and it's unlockable online... might be better than getting a crippled version by way of the Fuze...

No GSensor, no sale.
I'm glad I got the TP before the X1 came out.
that keyboard really does look pants! the 5 row on the touch pro is awesome, couldn't go back now. isn't a keyboard the main reason you would choose the touch pro / x1 over a diamond / touch hd / omnia?
X1 doesn't have accelerometer...and did you see how slow the screen rotated when he slid out the keyboard?!
i think telus is bringing touch pro to canada, and I wouldn't be surprised if Rogers does the same. They're practically ATT's lil brother. Everything ATT does, Rogers does too, except to a farther extent such as making you sign a 3 yr contract
worst case scenario: get an unlocked ATT version of TP.
My boss is a mobile freak, and getsa new one every month, he had the diamond and changed for the diamond pro and now bought the xperia.
He gave me the touch pro and i have the diamond also. I think the touch pro is alot more fun, its a bit smaller but still got power enough.
And the system on the xperia is not that special compared to the touch flo 3d. I really like the touch flo 3d.
I would buy the Diamond pro.
It seems like it would be a lot easier to type on the X1's larger QWERTY keyboard as 4 rows lends to bigger keys than 5 rows.
Also, don't the 3in screen, the aluminum construction, and extra inclusion of more 3G bands of the X1 count for something?
I like the Touch Pro, and may get one since I'm on ATT, but the tiny screen is so last generation device imo. I'm pretty confident, that the Touch Pro will be the last flagship device from HTC with the tiny 2.8in screen.
the diamond are slow too when use the acele.....
i prefer acele.... of the omnia, but of course i prefer the diamond becouse anothers cheats
omnia arey ou nuts??? the worst pda ive ever seen and the returns on that handset are stupdendiously high, ive tested my tp against the office omnia and mine p***es all over it
Lets not forget the GFX accel. of the X1. Sappose to be way better than the touch pro. I hear video playback is real nice on the X1 and with the larger screen, it looks outstanding! The touch pro is a REAL nice device but I've gotta say, the construction of the X1 is very sweet. I would not make the 5th row that much of an advantage over the X1. I saw a review where someone said they were typing mad fast after just an hour with the X1 so thats all I care about. + 288 vs. 256... Not even enought to make a difference! BTW, Someone did install panels on a touch pro and it was a slide show!
Eyy guys
I think the Touch Pro is and will be better than the X1, HTC ain´t that stupid, they won´t make a phone for another brand that is better than their own when they are competing in the same class...
That´s why the X1 lacks number keys and many other keys and accelerometer.

Its the same way with Samsung and Dell LCDs. Samsung saves the better displays for its own brand and Dell gets slightly lower quality LCDs from Sammy.
I've about decided to hold out for the Touch HD and use it on AT&Ts Edge network here in the US like im doing with my Touch Pro now. I know it would be nice to have 3G when I travel, but having a 3.8 Inch screen is so much better for media and reading text. All depends on how soon I can get my grubby little hands on a Touch HD.
Man if they added a keyboard to the HD and made it a true 3G world phone, I'd be so happy.

I guess we'd be going back almost 2 decades to the brick phones
i like the idea of a keyboard...if only they could make it thinner.

Lol, I seriously don't get the people that want a keyboard on the Touch HD. Go buy a UMPC or an HTC Athena if you want a brick like that. The Touch HD would be freaking HUGE with a keyboard.

Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has had much experience trying to replace a TyTN II. I've been really please with it, but I don't really use the keyboard and would really love a VGA screen.
I've looked at the Eten X650 and X800 but the reviews are a bit mixed to say the least and I'm just not sure!
So has anyone made the switch from an HTC device to an Eten or i-mate etc successfully or any other similar phone? And found them to be useable?!?!
Any suggestions on a new model would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advanced,
Gadget.
You could look at the Touch Diamond. If you want a keyboard wait for the Touch Pro.
gadgetdude, similar situation here. Except I'm moving from a standard tytn to an I-mate 9502 and I need the keyboard. This is only day 2 in the switch for me, but I can say it's different. One big thing I miss is the lack of the great HTC apps like the home plugin, audio manager, and task manager. That hurts. Also, I gotta say, while the VGA is good for browsing and makes the fonts look great, it's kinda of a waste on a 2.8" screen.
This phone is a little quirky compared to the tytn, but it has some good points. I'll probably be using it until the X1 comes out. Good luck.
Now with all the VGA devices coming out, I would have thought someone would have converted the original HTC home to fit VGA. I know there is currently a version out there that works but it makes every so damn small. Imagine how the original HTC would look in VGA if it fit to the screen lke the QVGA version does.
More info...
Thanks dudes for all you're input.
Still not sure tho - the Touch Pro looks rather cool! And I guess it'll have proper VGA versions of the HTC software?!
Has anyone got any opinions on the 'joystick' control on the Eten X800 or X650 though? I'm still not convinced whether it'll be a real pain or not!
Cheers dudes!
Have you looked at the tosh g900?
This actually has the highest res screen on any windows mobile device (to my knowledge) at 800x480. Its gorgeous for browsing and looking at pictures/photo's etc. It can be a bit slow when rotating orientation but thats the only time.
The original firmware was VERY buggy and so it built up a reputation according to this - bear in mind though, it was brand new and early adoption should expect issues. This reputation is now unfounded imho. Since firmware 3.01 and above, its rock solid and I never have to reboot mine.
This is what I do on mine without any issues/crashes:
Today screen extra's -
HTC X-Button,
SPB Weather,
SPB Backup,
Rhinocode Launch Pro,
Corner-A PDA Status
Other apps installed and working -
Saman SMSDeliveryReceiptFix
Micromega MSS Converter
ZoomSMS
YouTube Player
OneNote (although, this wont pull notes FROM the PC but will push TOO the pc)
MS Voicecommand
Google Maps
Route66 (sadly, the only Satnav i've found to work correctly with its high res screen)
Oh something else this phone did first, afaik, was to have a USB hub in it! You wont believe how handy it is to plug in USB storage devices (right up to external 3.5" disks!) at work to move stuff around.
The fingerprint security/program launcher is excellent - wish more phones had it! I also use the phone constantly on 3g/hsdpa as a modem for my pc and browse the web loads. I've had to buy a 3000mamp battery which makes the phone a bit bulky but to be fair, i don't think there are many people who are as heavy users as me. I also have configured a mail2web push email and a couple of pop 3 accounts.
BUT I am getting rid for two reasons:
No built in GPS
camera is w*&k
I am waiting for the Samsung I900 Omnia which is released any day now here in England.
Samsung http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=samsung+i900&btnG=Google+Search&meta=
Tosh http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=tosh+g900&meta=
I had the eten M800 and the joystick was ok. It made it abit larger when in your pocket. Personally I like the joystick on the imate 8502. This joystick is the best I've used yet buty personally I like the 5-way pad over any joystick.
If screen resolution is a top priority, then take a look at Sony Xperia X1, it does have a physical keyboard but has a WVGA screen, thats 800 by 480. It's designed by HTC and marketed by Sony Ericsson, so best of both worlds.

and also not out until end of this year/early next year(?) .... continualy delayed product. By the time it comes out its going to be old. Compared to the G900 it offers very little extra and the G900 was out almost a year ago (and so has had all the bugs ironed out of it, something a brand new product will not be able to claim), specialy a Windows Mobile device.
you can also wait for the futur Toshiba G920 or G910

Sadly thats the case with a lot of phones. A great many smartphones out there have this issue. For example, my G900 has the Nvidia chipset in it but it aint used properly, and with an 800x480 screen, it would make a massive diference.
Why, oh why do they not give them drivers?
its not just phone company i remember the psp was like that as well...originally was a faster processor but they blocked it...off topic...anyways i seen a video of someone tapping into the graphic chip on the tytn ii maybe there is still hope...
Thanks for all the input on this.
In the end after much soul searching (well, phone searching, anyway!) I decided to go for the new Touch Diamond. Seems to fit what I'm after the most.
It's arriving tomorrow and I can't wait!!
Gadgetdude,
You have PM
WB
Checking in!
Just to share a thought. Looking back more than a year ago, I had to spend some good effort hunting for the TyTN 1 (Got the first available variant model Taiwan CHT9000). This year alot of decent phones came out, making decisions much harder to make. I guess it is good news...
The Raphael would be a dream keyboarded WM 6.1 micro SD device but since I currently own the HTC Diamond and Apple iPhone 3G. I have to double think before getting this. May be I will have the Diamond sold and get the Raphael.
The iPhone lacks AD2P Bluetooth which is a serious draw back. The battery is non swappable, no memory card (not really a big deal cos the itunes sync is much more reliable than Active Sync ).
Feel free to share your thoughts!
Wow, you really are a "PPC-Warrior" with all those devices :O.
drivers?
Shall we get the Raphael?
Mmm that depends of the performance of the gpu,
or presence of a graphic driver!
Does anybody has information about this issue?
Does it take SDHC or just regular microSD?
takes SDHC up to 32GB
I had a dream...
What about the famous HTC Dream. its been long roumered to be out before year ends. Would it be worth waiting for I wonder.
I have so been waiting for this device to hit the shelves. HTC should have had this thing available 2 weeks ago or at least made some noise about it. Imagine if people knew about this!!
Apple sold 1 million Iphones here in Australia in the first 3 days and you cant even type on the damn thing without having to constantly correct yourself if you have fingers bigger than what my 5 yr old has and the GPS cant speak directions, no messenger and list of draw backs goes on.
I'm just hanging for this thing to arrive.
Will the Raphael have the same diamond back as the ,uh, Diamond? I read somewhere that the diamond doesn't lay flat on the table. I also read somewhere that there will be an optional flat back. Any thoughts?
The T-mobile branded Raphael has a flat backcover...
I can't really think of any reason not to buy a Raphael. This looks like the perfect device for current standards. And I don't think it has any serious flaw, which kept me from buying other devices (like the video issue on Tytn II for example).
The Raphael looks indeed quite great to me, but I like the screen size of the Xperia. Would there be a reason not to go for the Xperia?
The only thing that's putting me off is the screen size. 2.8 inches really isn't very big, especially when you're used to the Universal and its wonderful 3.7 inch VGA screen.
The xperia 3 inch screen isn't much bigger than the touch pro, plus I prefer the touch pro styling. I also wonder if the xperia's WVGA screen will cause software compatability problems?

1. maybe software problems with that screen solution
2. no video out
3. probably no (or not a lot) support by the chefs and professionals in this community for that hardware...

I have read the keyboard is awful. Unless they improve it before releasing, which is highly unlikely because that would change the design, I wouldn't buy it, afterall the main reason for me to choose Pro instead of Diamond is the keyboard, which is considered excellent by some people who had a chance to use it.
thanks, your arguments make enough sense to reconsider my liking. I wish the Diamond Pro would have a 3' screen ;-)
I heard that X-Peria is going to be released only in oct end , so thats quite some time whereas Raphael is scheduled to be launched on aug 5th i guess.
I am eying on the Raphael.

A good reason not to go the X1 is the wonderful Xda-developers forum
Another is that it's a bit delay
Personally the perfect phone for me would be a Diamond with micro-sd card support and a 3.5" screen with VGA but I sold my prophet and I can't no longer wait for the perfect phone. So, the best for now is the Raphael...
P.S. - Samsung Omnia is also a no go for me cause it doesn't have a stylus...
Actually the omnia has a stylus which looks like lipsick lol, there's nowhere on the handset to store it thought.. picture below.

Sunlight readable?
I am pretty sure I want to get the Touch Pro over the Xperia X1 apart from one thing. The reviews of the Xperia say it's screen is readable under direct sunlight. People I know with the Diamond say it is not.
I've spent the last year with the Tosh G900. It also has the 800x480 like the Xperia but it can't be seen outside. I was thinking that all these small screen high res phones were unreadable in sunlight. Maybe there is a problem with transflective displays at this pixel density?
The Touch Pro has a lot of advantages over the X1, 5 rows of keys, TV out and 640x480 screen (this is better I now know after living with the 800x480 for year and finding loads of apps that wont work). But I like to use TomTom while cycling so sunlight readable would be quite a bonus...
This phone so nearly does everything that I've been waiting so many years for, apart from decent camera with optical zoom and OLED screen. Guess I'll have to wait a few more years before I'm completely happy!
actually the diamond is the first pda/phone i have that the light sensor really works, if there is too much sun he will increase the display light, for me it is quite readable ( better than x7500 for example )
Anyone done a comparison? That Xperia looks like it could be fabulous.
there is a bit here

featurewise anyway
To my knowledge the Xperia isn't even out yet.
Also to US customers I hear that The Xperia isn't coming to AT&T, just to T-Mobile. I bet you could unlock it, but I think the 3G frequencies of AT&T and T-Mobs USA are different.
So if you have AT&T the Choice is clear...

Of course the main reason to get a Touch Pro is the keyboard, otherwise you'd be getting the smaller, sexier Diamond. So for a majority of TP buyers, keyboard = important.
First thing I thought when I saw the X1 was "ugh what a nasty uncomfortable looking keyboard". Most hands-on comparisons I've read pretty much confirm it.
So, the main reason to get a bulkier slider device is the keyboard, and it's keyboard is a failure. Of course, not everyone will be so fussy about the keyboard, but for me it knocked the X1 clean out of the race.
The Raphaels keboard is far better, and the Raphaels TF3D/Manila destroys Panels (although the fish were kinda cool ).

BTW, for anyone who doesn't know Russian,
"Дисплей:" means display.
Also, the Raphael has 288MB of RAM (32 of which are because of the chipset, which means the X1 may have it as well.)
Regarding the panels interface, I bet that will be ripped to other WinMo devices before you know it!!
Also I was thinking, is it really a proper interface or is just a bunch of background applications presented in that "panel" form, for example like the "expose" thing you get on a mac?
If so someone could create an app for all winmo device that "exposes" running apps into a panel view, you then tap the one you want to go to and it maximises/brings it to front...
amirite?

It's an Expose like task manager, but you can also have preset "Desktops".
The closest to getting tasks displayed as images ATM would be Roozbehs 3DAltTab.

LOL, nice jimmy
At this moment I got a TyTN II (Kaiser) in my pocket. Is the Touch Pro (Raphael) the continuator or is there coming a TyTN III?
The current price here in the Netherlands between the TyTN II and the Touch Pro is very small. Should the Omni the next generation TyTN -> TyTN III?
My decision is like follows:
I buy a Touch Pro if HTC manages to increase the 3G reception to a normal level before Xperia X1 is on sale. I'd prefer the Touch Pro mainly because of the better keyboard, but reception is even more important for me. Without reception a phone is a worthless piece of plastic.
If HTC fails on the Touch Pro and the Xperia X1 shows an acceptable reception, then I'll be still happy and buy the X1. I will tell myself that the more HW Keys, more LEDs and bigger screen (resolution) was worth it.
But if both fail I have to stick with my TyTN until the next generation is announced. (...and I really want a new toy! (NOW!))

The Touch Pro (Raphael) is the successor to TyTN II (Kaiser), so you could say that it is the "TyTN III". Nobody knows whether HTC will make a TyTN III later of course, but in that case it would be the successor to the Raphael, so such a naming scheme makes little sense.
I really had a hard time deciding between the Xperia and the Touch Pro, but i finally decided to get the Touch pro because
- the mainstream screen resolution: more likely that most apps will work with it
- a little smaller in size
- keyboard with arrows (i use them a lot)
- no release date for Xperia yet (alltough i think that would change fast now), and my tytn was dying
- TV out
- TF3D looks really slick
- A lot more support for the Touch Pro on this forum
The only advantage of the Xperia over the touch pro were the metal finish (alltough im very pleased with the looks of the Touch pro, it looks better in real life then on photo, and my gf thinks it's a very sexy phone) and the bigger screen.

true, it does... but... how long will we in the modifications community leave the X1 alone? not long, me thinks. The X1 will have TF3D/Manilla available within the first few weeks of its release, which will run in one of the 9 panels (lets see the iphone do that!), and then the only shortfall will of course be the keyboard and tv-out, which you can't upgrade. but the X1 is a much sexier phone... >sigh< well KRAP! I guess I'll just have to buy one of each
ouch Pro vs. Xperia

The keyboard is one of the features, (agree, the Toch Pro seem to have the better one) but the overall use should make the decission. The complete UMTS band and all 4 GMS break the choice. Travelling with the Touch Pro will be difficult without the bandwith. Will see when both US Versions will be available.
Will X1 be supported by XDA-Developers?
A question for senior members/moderators: Since the X1 will be manufactured by HTC, will it be supported here on xda-developers.com in the forum and wiki area? If it were, that may sway some decisions in its favor. (truthfully, i'm having a hard time deciding)
Thanks in advance...
I was going back and forth on both devices but finally decided to take Touch Pro for some reasons:
- "real" HTC devices has a very big community
- Touch Pro has a light sensor
- Touch Pro has a g-sensor
- it is as small as an Magician
- it is going to be released soon (SE actually has not)

Just to bring up some friendly chat about the new TouchPro2 and Diamond 2.
Which one do you like more and why? Touch Pro 2, it is a great replacement for the aging Kaiser/Tilt
Do you think AT&T will carry it?
yes
If so, When?
Problably around June.
Do you think your carrier will change the casing style of it?
Knowing AT&T, more than likely.
Which do you think they will call it? Touch Pro 2? Fuze 2? Tilt 2? ***?
For AT&T more than likely Fuze 2
What do you like about it?
The screen and all features not on the Tilt.
What do you not like about it?
They did not upgrade the processor....
Would you trade your Tilt for one?
As soon as it is out...
How do you think it stacks up to the iPhone?
Not counting software wise (as there is no comparing since they are too different,) I love it much more than the iPhone. Especially when I put android on it.
How about against the G1/Android?
First thing I will do is find an Android Build for it.

Which one do you like more and why?
TP2 BECAUSE THE PHYSYCAL KEYBOARD
Do you think TELCEL will carry it?
YES
If so, When?
ENDS OF 09 AND VEEERY EXPENSIVE
Do you think your carrier will change the casing style of it?
NO
Which do you think they will call it? Touch Pro 2? Fuze 2? Tilt 2? ***?
TOUCH PRO 2
What do you like about it?
AS UNIVERSAL HAPPY OWNER I LIKE A NICE SCREEN AND A KEYBOARD
What do you not like about it?
SAME PROCESSOR, NO EVOLUTION HERE
Would you trade your UNIVERSAL for one?
NO WAY!! 1ST. NOONE WOULD GO FOR THIS TRADE 2ND. I´LL NEVER GET RID OF MY BELOVED UNI, TO THIS DATE THERE IS NO BETTER DEVICE!
How do you think it stacks up to the iPhone?
LET´S NOT COMPARE TO iphone PLEASE, WE HAVE ENOUGH OF COMPARATIVES...
How about against the G1/Android?
CAN´T BE COMPARED, IT´S ANOTHER OS THAT IS VERY NEW YET
Which one do you like more and why?
I like the Touch Pro 2 More, b/c of the keyboard, and added features. However, if the TP2 turns out to be a brick, then the Diamond 2 may slide back into the picture.
Do you think "AT&T" will carry it?
Yes, they will. (And no they won't carry the Diamond 2)
If so, When?
Considering the Touch Pro was annoucned in May and it took AT&T until Nov. to actually release the Fuze (7 months), I would say we would likely be waiting until September 09 for the AT&T to release it.
Do you think your carrier will change the casing style of it?
I hope so! The Touch Pro 2 looks goofy!
Which do you think they will call it? Touch Pro 2? Fuze 2? Tilt 2? ***?
AT&T **** (I haven't ever seen them call a phone the xyz 2)
What do you like about it?
The keyboard and big screen.
What do you not like about it?
The bulkiness and lack of style.
Would you trade your HTC Touch Cruise for one?
Begrudginly, yes. Although if I were to upgrade for an X1...then no.
How do you think it stacks up to the iPhone?
The iPhone has a great UI and is a joy to use, but it sucks as far as features...I NEED features.
How about against the G1/Android?
Same as above.
This is gonna be fun
Which one do you like more and why?
touch pro 2, cause it has a bigger screen, and a keyboard
Do you think T-mobile will carry it?
Yep
If so, When?
like June or something
Do you think your carrier will change the casing style of it?
umm probably not
Which do you think they will call it? Touch Pro 2? Fuze 2? Tilt 2? ***?
touch pro 2, but I have some people say wing 2, but I like touch pro 2 better
What do you like about it?
Nice sharp big screen, better speakers and all the new features along with a nicer keybaord
What do you not like about it?
528 MHz processor, like seriously I dont mind the ram that much but there are 1 GHz processors coming soon.... so umm yeah lol that would crush 528 MHz
Would you trade your Tilt for one?
umm, seriously???? of coarse
How do you think it stacks up to the iPhone?
I think its better cause it has a sharper screen, faster processor clock, (even though it could be a little bit faster lol) and more ram and also I think the screen is bigger too and it has a full qwerty keyboard and it looks nicer to me
How about against the G1/Android?
Better, cause it has more ram and a way better keyboard and it tilts and it has a bigger sharper touch screen and also people will probably port android to it so you can run either os u want but I will stick with wm and my bro has a G1 and his keybaord isnt that easy to type on for me, well at least compared to a tilt the keys feel stiff, and also the curve part of it is really anoying when texting, oh, and almost forgot, u cant prot wm to a g I am pretty sure about that plus the G1 requires a data plan and I doubt this will, but I dont know if other android phones will require one too, the emplyes at the store said that the G1 actually needs a data plan cause of the os but oh well
I didn't buy the Touch Pro because of the scrawny little 2.8" display. I've posted in several places how displeased I am with all the 2.8" displays HTC has been using.
One of the best things about the I-Phone is that most of the front of the device is a beautiful screen. HTC started out right with the HTC Blue Angel with a 3.5" screen. I don't know why it's taken them so long to get back on track.
The HTC Touch Pro 2 is somewhat promising. I like the large screen. A great QWERTY keyboard. I don't even mind WM6.1 because it's fast and stable (at least when cooked by the excellent chefs here).
I must admit that I'm not a fan of the Touch Flo rubbish. It's cute but it doesn't really doesn't add to the performance of the device. I think WM6.5 is even worse.
Wouldn't it be neat if one could flash the phone to use either WM or Android? Then the user could choose his operating system. I guess the biggest problem is the differing hardware buttons.
Since the Kaiser, HTC has not put multiple 3G radios in its devices. This is a big mistake and if HTC continues this course, I won't buy their equipment anymore. HTC should have an unlocked version of the Touch Pro II with that can handle the 850, 1700, 1900, and 2100 frequencies so that U.S. and European customers can use the devices on the networks of their choice.
Instead, HTC uses makes some neat stuff like the HD and Touch Pro with only 900, and 2100 3G frequencies. This is an alarming trend. I'll write another post on this later.
Also, the device has no flash. I'd rather have the flash than the conferencing feature.
In summary, I want to be able to: 1) connect to most 3G networks in the US and Europe; 2) have a big beautiful display that streams video with no problem; 3) a camera that actually works with a flash; and 4) have it now.
From HTCPedia:
http://htcpedia.com/news/rumor-alert-new-image-of-htc-leo-slider-phone.html
We have a new image that may show that the HTC Leo could turn out to be a slider phone instead of the popular rumor floating around about the return of the clamshell design.

This rumor comes hot off the presses, direct from a PM sent to me through our forum, from HTCPedia member Football. Though the member hasn't posted anything on our forum, they have sent over some specs on the HTC Leo that match what we've heard through the rumor mill.
The photo, however; is in stark contrast to the images we've seen showing the Leo as a clamshell phone. Since we have no other information matching this claim, we can't prove this true or false, so you'll have to be the judge on this one. Below is the message I received from our member:
Hello,
I have got HTC Leo real photo:
That will be nice if you post that at news page

I hope those are really the specs because if so its gonna be one hell of a phone.
Please please give us a CDMA version on Sprint!
It sounds awesome if the specs are correct...hopefully we don't have to wait until 2010 or 2011
Even if true, it will be Q4 2010 until its out on at&t in the US.
Just add a hardware keyboard and it´s the ultimate upgrade!
If necessary I can wait till 1st Q 2010 to grab one, even without American continent 3G
Add the Touch Pro 2 keyboard pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaase!
I have a strong feeling it will not have any keyboard though and I would still get it. On my HTC Advantage, SPB 4.1 soft keyboard fills the screen and has me hardly carrying my hardware keyboard.
it rumored to be some kinda slider which is possible if u look at the dimensions. wish we can more renderings of it or possibly a pic
Display 4,3" 480*800 capacitance touch-screen

in theory WM6.5 has support for capacitive screens. if the actual benefits of capacitive screens are used (multi touch) remain to be seen.
but that is one dam sexy device. basically a HTC version of the TG01 though.
A Slider Phone?? Please no, I hate slider phones (that includes hardware keyboard). Such things aren't necessary nowadays, especially with that 4.3" Screen, putting a good/spacious touch-screen keyboard should be no problem.

I also verily agree with this.
Guys,
Anything bigger than a 3.8" screen and I'm not getting it. This is ridiculous, how big do they want cellphones to be?
Why are we going BACKWARDS with technology? I feel like it's back to the old days of those prehistoric club-phones with a red led screen. It's also already apparent that when resistive screens get too big (TouchHD), the digitizer does not work at equal capacity across the screen.
Cheers.
yea 4.3 is kinda big and its said to have winmo 7 so it wont b out 4 a while but that screen would be great 4 a lot of business things since htcs phone usually are aimed at the ppl in suits

har har.
what way does it slide? what kind of keyboard does it have?
from what i googled its a typical slider (not if its left or right).67 thick so its quite big but really powerful. i would imagine its a full qwerty (5 rows at least) and pretty spacious

Hmm... Maybe there will be no more gap (or a very small one) between the screen and edges of the device. Then this monster screen could easily fit into the HD as well
