Disabling the new sms-writing-mode - Touch Pro, Fuze General

Hi there
The new way to write sms is absolutely awful!
Is there any possibility to get the "old" way back? I don't like this kind of "messenger"-style!
EnzephaloN

You can disable threaded sms via Schaps' excellent 'Advanced Configuration Tool'.

Ah, thanx a lot!

Just done it buddy, REALLLLLY easy to do.
Easiest way..
PHM Registry Editor
Scroll down and download " Pocket PC 2002,2003 (ARM/PXA )
Copy the downloaded file ( .cab ) across to your device.
Once there install it then open it up and navigate too HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\OEM\
Create a new DWORD value with value name as SMSInboxThreadingDisabled and set it value data to 1.
Soft reset and its done
I did it 5 mins ago and it makes texting alot better !, seems to run smoother too. Only takes a minute to do too.

Help Switching between Input(SIP): Block Recognizer, keyboard, very slow!

I have successfully upgraded to WM6. But I find whenever I need to switch between input methods, it's very slow. It needs to take few seconds before the menu showed up. Any resolution to this? I'm using RapidCalc by Developerone, and it's very annoying when switching input is very slow. I often swap between Calculator and Fitaly.
Any replacement to RapidCalc software? I like the fact that RapidCalc features like a paper calculator.
Other than this, I think WM6 is great. Thanks to All.
give it a shoot , Get a registry editor ,
1. Export HKCR\CLSID (will save to a *.reg file)
2. Del or Rename HKCR\CLSID
3. Import the backup of HKCR\CLSID
Turn off your device about 15 sec and reset .
WOW! it worked!!! what went wrong before. How could this simple procedure works!! you got me curious Leies.
It would be nice if you could explain a little bit in more details what was happening.
but Thanks anyway. I'm such a happy camper.

I did work! What's the secret?
Just accidentally saw this thread which is also describing the problem I face for long.
For unknown reasons, it really works!! So now it proves that it's a registry problem.

Well I still can't see what's up with the registry though. it's only cutting and pasting procedure, it doesn't seem llike there is any other modifications done.
Sounds like it might be a permissions thing?
Generally an export doesn't maintain the permissions..
Were this normal windows, I'd definitely go with perms, so that's what I'd lean towards with this as well..

Great tip! You don't even need to reset your device, it works instantly!
Had to fiddle a little to export and import the key tough
Since I use TotalCommander for exploring and editting the registry. Found out that it is possible with TC but for now I think PHM Registry Editor is more user friendly when it comes to import/export functions
Even easier
Actually, I found that just by:
- renaming the CLSID to something else (say CLSIDbak)
- save the changes
- turn it off for 10 seconds
- rename it back to CLSID
- save the changes
- turn it off for 10 seconds
It should work fine. I didn't have a program for importing and this seems to do the job. Much faster to change now.
Thanks for the original tip.

And thank YOU for this tip which was easy enough for me to have a go! I can confirm that this easier method works!
Thank you very much.
For me, I just Export and then Import... no reboot...

Ran into this old post, though I'd give it a try, phone will no longer do anything past the screen that shows the RGD versions, looks like another hard reset.

This trick has worked wonders on my X7500.
So I went ahead and exported all of HKCR, HKCU and HKLM using Total Commander, imported them back and reset the device.
It now seems not exactly faster, but more responsive when starting programs switching tasks and updating the todayscreen plugins for instance. It doesn't impact on memory usage as far as I can judge.
I have no explanation for this. Maybe someone would like to confirm this and maybe enlighten me?

No Boot

You are correct... My System does not boot past the RGD screen. Any solution for this??
Works fine for my AT&T Tilt (WM 6.1). Used PHM Registry Editor. Instead of Export, I used "Backup". I then rename the CLSID key to CLSID-bkup. Then do the Restore. Soft reset. Performance is great now.
Don't use this. Seriously!

i have too hard reset my handset and reinstall everything after followed this first 3 steps. Should read page 2 of this thread before go ahead, stupit me~~~ i was thinking how windows can work without CLSID keys before press restart, but then i said to myself 'well, he proved it worked, just try'. And now i know it won't start without CLSID keys. so for this trick to work you don't turn off the device before change the name back to CLSID. and this is what you shoud do:
- renaming the CLSID to something else (say CLSIDbak)
- save the changes
- close the Reg Editor
- rename it back to CLSID
- save the changes
- turn it off for 10 seconds
and next time you started, the input menu shows very quick
what are you talking about?
he never mentions about restarting the device... just turn it of for 10" (not REALLY off, just steep)
...still don't get the logic behind this whole thing
Do I need to hard reset?
I have exported it and changed its name, but then I just couldn't import the original one. I turned OFF the phone, but it won't start now.
Do I have any other choice but to do a hard reset? Please help.
Thanks.
Oh thank you so so so so much, I exported Using Resco Registry to My Documents, deleted CLSID from HKCR and then imported it immediately back in. It worked immediately without rebooting.
I succeed using this method but i can't rename back my CLSID because the system has given a new CLSID... what i did :
- rename CLSID to CLSIDbak
- close/save regedit and turn off for 10seconds (sleep mode)
- open regedit and you'll find CLSID created by the system.. delete it!
- rename back CLSIDbak to CLSID
- save and turn off for 10secs
- done!
but i still wonder how Leies found this method.. very easy but working!! thanks so much!

Personalizing your roms (B4 Flashing)

Iv'e started this thread after several PMs regarding this topic
Please feel free to post your tips on how to customize/personalize your roms before flashing.
Heres one to start from my inbox before i deleted it
garymeg said:
I have done a similar thing, by putting the "owner" info into the rom and changing the registry to remove the "owner info" control pannel applet then when they hard reset they get my welcome note same as you and also they can't disable/change owner details
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Do you think that you could explain to a n00b like me how you can edit the rom or whatever so that the owner details cannot be changed?
Thanks
Get a registry editor like resco regedit or something like, goto
HKLM\controlpanel\Owner
and add a new string value called
"Redirect" and leave the value blank
now delete the dword "group"
save and reset device
If you are cooking you have to search the registry for the dword "group=0" and change to String "redirect="
Now that I've been around for a little while I will try this now, but If I ever wanted to change the details (say i was to sell it or whatever, which I REALLY don't want to do) what do you do?
The best way is to reflash a standard Rom without your personal details in. if you only want to modify it reverse the registry settings with a reg editor note this must be done after a hard reset every time. best to reflash your custom rom again modifying the settings first.

SPB Pocket Plus 4 Smart scrolling enabled!

Hi all.
After the trick with zerolenght dll and exefiles(Biotouch) I have finally disabled TF (ugly and jumpy)scrolling. I want to use PocketPlus feature named SmartScrolling,but that wasn't in the list of options,so I can't enable it. Today I found a solution:
1. Make a backup of registry key HKLM>Software>OEM>TFLOSettings
2.make sure the backup file is created and delete this key
3.install/reinstall SPB Pocket Plus
4.import registry from backup
5.make sure,that the value EnableScroll is set to 0
6.softresetdevice
Now you should see the Smart Scrolling option in PocketPlus settings,just enable it and enjoy.
Btw,if something goes wrong,I am not responsible for any software damages using this. My is working good.
I'm using 3 separate registry editors on my "T-Mobile HTC Touch Pro2" so that i can access SPB Pocket Plus 4 Smart scrolling feature. I accessed the registry editors and I tried to delete TFLOSettings folder under HKLM>Software>OEM>TFLOSettings but every time i select the delete icon it comes up with an error saying either the access is denied or the key cannot be deleted. i dont know what to do in this situation PLEASE HELP!!!

Try to disable Manila first...
I'm not familiar with that program. since i've never heard of Manila i'm pretty sure i've never installed it to begin with.

Tethering registry hacks for the Sprint Touch Pro

Anyone figure out the new registry hacks on the Sprint Touch Pro that are needed (if any) for connecting with Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)?
Or is it the same as the Sprint Touch Diamond?
http://www.sprintusers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=175962&highlight=touch+pro+tether
This worked for me.
Works for me too, thanks!
Made a couple of cabs files that should make it easier
I made 2 cab files.
The first one contains the modifications to the Registry to get Internet Sharing
"internet-sharing-mod.cab"
The second on is to return the the registry to the default setting
"internet-sharing-original.cab"
Just copy the files to your Touch Pro and click the internet-sharing-mod.cab file to install.
Install to Device/main memory (don't know what happens if you choose storage card? never tried it, never will) then your done. You will be able to tether your device through Sprint with no problems.
internet-sharing-mod.cab:
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing]
"Extension"=""
"MaxCMCon"=dword:00000000
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing\Status]
"Enabled"=dword:00000000
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing\Settings]
"ForceCellConnection"="Sprint"
"MaxCMConnectRetries"=dword:00000000
internet-sharing-original.cab:
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing]
"Extension"="isext.dll"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing\Status]
"Enabled"=dword:00000000
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing\Settings]
"ForceCellConnection"="Phone as Modem"
"MaxCMConnectRetries"=dword:00000000
Very easy to do:

Thanks so much for the cab files. Seems to work great. I am so tired of different hotel servers blocking outgoing e-mails. My problem was solved in moments. Again, Thanks.

After installing the cab and soft-resetting my phone I somehow am lost as to why I don't see the option of "Network Connection" --> Phone as modem:
http://www.isyougeekedup.com/how-to-enable-internet-connection-sharing-on-sprint-htc-touch-pro/
Am I supposed to install or register edit something else? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
The Isyougeekedup site works
I have a touch pro flashed to Cricket and all I did was delete the forcecellconnection string value and wala... it works.., of course I pay for cricket web on my phone but its nice to be able to not pay for high speed internet at home too.
the .cab files worked like a charms. thanks
Looks like this trick is no-go any more. I just received a replacement Touch Pro after mine bricked. The new one I received won't allow me to change the "Phone as a modem" value to "Sprint." It acts like it's editing it, lets me save, but when I exit and return it's back to the original value.
I've tried the .cab, PHM Registry Editor, and Total Commander with the same results.
Ah well, I never actually used it on the old phone anyway.
Edit: Just tried fully deleting the "ForceCellConnection" field. When I replace it with a value of "Sprint" it still immediately sets it back to "Phone as a modem."

registry editor !!

hi everybody !
i have blackstone mobile , i need to edit registry for some application ..
could anyone tell me how to do that clearly plz ..
i'm using ' REGEDIT ' application ..
get total commander it got a nice regeditor
Yeah, TC will be easier to use. Go to \\Plugins\Registry, and then navigate to the registry entry like you would with file explorer. When you get to the key you want, click on it and a little applet will pop up where you can change the value. Change it, click 'ok' and then in most cases you need to soft reset to get the change to take place. That's all there is to it. HKLM stands for 'hard key local machine', HKCU is '... Current User,' and HKCR is '... classes root.'
Since you don't know what you're doing, be sure to do a full back up beforehand in case you do something dumb.
Have a look at this guide for noobies to registry http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4257844&postcount=30
guys thx so much all of u .. i did it
