Hi Guys,
For those of you that use GPRS on the jam you know that you have to click on the G logo next to your cellular reception bars and then chose connect. THe problem is I am in the USA and I put in my own gprs settings and it works fine but the default t-mobile UK settings is ALWAYS THERE, now i have two options to choose which gprs to connect, i removed it already in the connection settings and i removed it from the remove programs, yet it still shows up!! Please help! I need to kno how to get rid of it. THANKS! :? it's just too annoying to have to pick from two everytime
try to clean the dead registry by MemMaid or SKTools it may slove ur problem. if so u may need to wait untel xda-developers unlock ExtRom then u can delete TMobile settings cab file.
laterz 8)
Nope that didnt help at all, those just clean dead and invalid registry, i think i need a registry editor...
Ok i used a registry editor and searched for "t-mobile" then deleted the key and then it didnt show up, so fine, UNTIL I DID A soft reset! Then it's back!! what a nightmare...
lol
if that didnt help then it might be in the database :? or wait untel i do research, it may take 10mins 8)
be right back
I got it! I did a more thorough search and deleted ANYTHING that had to do with t-mobile and now ti's gone !!!!
thats cool m8 8) i'm happy for you
MAny people telling about problems with wiffi turn on:
- Not available by clicking on "g"
- not available to remap to hardwarebutton
- Not recognizing after pushing by commmanager
This comes up in several ROMs and I mentioned a soulution in many threads.
For some it works, for some not.
Just give it a try:
HKLM\Comm\TnetWln1\Parms\HTCPreloadStatus --> 1
HKLM\Comm\TnetWln1\Parms\HTCPreloadWifi --> 1
and check if WifiInit.ink is in \windows\startup folder.
Please tell me with which ROM it works and for which not.
Thank you.

This did the the trick for me running NottoSmart Vanilla. I had wifiinit.lnk in startup, it was the reg key values that did the trick for me.
I don't have any SPB programs installed, although I did try one out, but then uninstalled it, so maybe that is what "broke" itm since I know wireless was working when I installed the ROM. I currently have the following programs installed if that helps...
Voice Command 1.6
Pocket Mechanic
Sharkey Softkey Changer
JamDat Worms
Registry Wizard
Battery Status 1.3 beta
Live Search
TOtal Commander
CorePlayer
CoolCamera
Treo Picture dialer
SP TimeSync
PQzII Wizard
Phone Alarm with B&W Pure skin
Foxit PDF
Tascal CloseAll
THANKS!!! for figuring this out!
Just to be sure, are the correct values in HKLM\Comm\TnetWln1 key or in HKLM\Comm\TnetWln1\Params?

Sorry, sure it is Parm I edit in first Post.
Thanks
(I answerd this settings so often that I now wrote it wrong)
Sorry to all searching the wrong settings - now it is right in first post.
Here's the cab file for those who doesn't want to search registry. If there's no improvement, simply uninstall it to restore previous state.
HTCPreloadStatus doesn't stick?
In my current ROM HTCPreloadWiFi is already set to 1 and HTCPreloadStatus is set to 0. If I change HTCPreloadStatus to 1, exit the Registry editor, leave it for a while and soft reset it always reverts back to 0. I have verified the change is being made by exiting the Registry editor and then opening it again and checking and it does indeed say it's set to 1. However a soft-reset later and it's back to 0.....

Here is my experience. I was having intermittent inability to enable WiFi. Sometimes this was rectified with a soft reset, other times not. I checked the two keys and they were both set to zero.
I applied the changes and re-booted after waiting awhile. I noticed that the WiFi came on after reset without having to enable it. I am running mUn with the collected fixes from NotTooSmart.
I have since toggled and re-toggled and re-booted my Wizard and all seems well. However, HTCPreloadStatus is set to zero on mine regardless of whether the WiFi is on or not.
It is all working though.

Thanks for this and the pointer to the 10 button comm manager screen. After installing the new comm manager, doing the reg fix for that, and then applying this cab, it appears my Wifi starts up each time with no issues (in the minimal testing I've done over the last couple of hours).

Have you tried to softreset by switching off with 5sec Powerbutton? And the turn on again?

Hi there m8. I just couldnt install the new comm manager. I just upload it to my device and try it to install in the main memory but i just cant.
This is weird. :s
Any advice ???
Yep, that is weird. Went right onto mine with no issues, and I'm also running XPlore 1.1. Have you tried doing a soft reset and then loading it again? Maybe putting the cab directly on your phone and then running it from your phone?
Yes... that did it.

I realized I was having the same problem, came back and, VOILA, there is already a solution to the problem of the solution!
However, I seem to be a little dense today but I cannot figure out what 10 button comm manager screen was pointed to.
based on the screen shots from the following post and using google I found this post in the Hermes forum that seemed to have the file specified, but I wanted to check before I installed something ported from the trinity to the hermes on a wizard
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1207712
Also, this may be mild hijacking, but has anyone tried the other cabs in that post, specifically the sim manager and bluetooth file transfer?

Don´t mind but what about starting a new thread for the link and the problems with commmanager and the other programs.
Don´t be worry.

Uh, isn't the commmanager question directly related to the thread since it was proposed as a solution to not have the registry values persist?

The commanager was asked for by people using xplore and don´t like green commmanger.
It might be a soulution.
Everything what would help is wellcome. But the thread started to get bigger and bigger discussion several problems.
It was started to evaluate the function of the registrysettings.

Right, and it was determined that the registry settings work, but only temporarily, since they go back to 0 after a second soft reset. from what I understood, installing the different comm manager either allowed the settings to persist or made them irrelevant, which is why I thought a discussion of taht belonged in this thread. Am I completely wrong in the above assumption?

That was mentioned by me.
To your question. My settings stay even after softreset. Do you change it and turn off device by powerbutton for 5seconds? For this ever works regarding to reghacks.
Didn´t wanted to stress you. Discussion is the way this forum lives!

Yes, thats the one. But for the wizard there is a reg key you have to remove or it breaks your Wifi. Please look at the XPlore thread for discussion on this (or as suggested, start a new thread specifically about the 10 button comm manager. It probably needs a seperate thread anyway).
Hi guys,
I know that Diamond users had similar problem but I cannot solve this issue the way provided on Diamond forum. Or I'm doing something wrong :]
Reason - I've just copied my contacts from sim to TP and in Contact TAB i've got everything doubled.
I've tried:
1. Modify registry (ShowSim = 0) - doesn't help - after soft reset this value is still 1 (is registry locked? I've tried CeRegEditor with unlock registry option first - no effect and with TotalCommander - the same)
2. Tried advanced config for Diamont - No Sim contact, soft reset - nothing.
3. Tried this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1959449&postcount=4 - doesn't help.
Any other ideas?
Regards
B.

TBH Make a backup of your contacts as they are now (even if they are doubled)using PIMBackup....and delete the contacts from the SIM card. Atleast you have a backup on file off the device??
I havent used SIM memory for MANY years now.
Hmmm I've tried everything many times (mentioned below) and resigned.
Then after 2-3hours I've installed Green Battery soft, then restart and... now it works like hell !
I mean that no sim details in contacts.
So I have no IDEA with action fix this problem - a little confused now :?
Regards
B.
Windows mobile will ALWAYS display your SIM contacts as well as contacts in the phone memory. There are plenty of third party apps out there that will stop this, or you can find the registry edit in the site somewhere.
Easiest way is to use something like Schaps 3, or that battery soft that you mention.
Can't understand why som many people insist on using SIM memory nowdays, when people hae multiple numbers, you end up with multiple contacts for the same people....
Well, each to their own i suppose.
My contacts were on SIM because I'vw switched from.....Nokia 6310i
Now I've fixed the problem manually (regedit) because AdvancedConfig tool doesn't help. Just funny thing that to save registry settings SHUT DOWN of device is required not soft reset.

Ah! One of the best handsets Nokia ever made. My Landlord has three, just in case one of them dies!
Great phones!
Although again, it came with Nokia PC Suite to sync to outlook, but it was a real PITA as it always puts the mobile numbers in the 'other' field in outlook so they don't get touched by activesync!
as for the soft reset thing, seems to work ok on mine. Change something in schaps 3, and soft reset when it tells me to and all seems to be well.
lol, well i guess that's why windows mobile is such fun huh??
whats registry setting did u change? AdvancedConfig isnt working for me either. I cant delete the sim contacts, cos its a temporary SIM. Ill have a blank SIM soon, but for now, I'd like to stop SIM contacts showing up.
Thanks
I just got it to work using AdvancedConfig. I said 'No' when it asked to soft reset. Then checked contacts and the SIM contacts are gone. No restart, no shut down, nothing. When i did this and said 'yes' to the soft reset, it didnt work. Odd
If you go into settings, Phone, Call options is there no longer a check box to not show SIM contacts as in WM6.0 phones?
You must change value
HKCU\ControlPanel\Phone\ShowSim from 1 to 0
and then (very important) do not soft reset because value will be restored to 1
you must shut down TP - this information was provided by someone here and it works
BTW
Even if you switch off ShowSim option, for the first 10-30sek after booting TP you will find doubled contacts but then the sim contacts are dissapearing

A hard reset is always the best option, but I´m sure someone could point you into another way
If you would have a back up program like spb backup for example, you would have simply restored a backup. You can delete the remaining registry values if remaining. May be it will work otherwise do a hard reset.

Thank you to you both! Hoped to not do a hard reset but i will try to do the backup.
try cleaning up with SKTools, maybe something's blocking your dialer for some reason.. even tho it should have anything to do with it
you should also use Advanced Config 3.3 to see if your Dialer Skin is enabled.
Hey all I have a problem dunno if this is the right place to post but could not really find anything closer.
First I have no access to a PC and I need a copy of the original registry for the t mobile wing. I've been playing aroud with the reg to get access to the Ext rom well I have deleted it and a reboot doesn't bring it back, don't want to try a hard reset because of that. also messed with the t mo data settings I deleted them actually I delete everything that has to do with t mo. and barely got the wifi working or I would'nt be here now!
hoping putting the settings back will return the ext romto normal or my regedits are done till I get a laptop. and dunno if i have to hard reset.
I will attach the reg settings and screenshots if anyone is interested I am able to load up to about 1meg on the ext rom then it gives either access denied or write protected. and it vanishes on reboot as far as i've read this is the closest to actually being able to alter the ext rom on a cid locked and original rom....without a pc, thanx in advance.
T Mobiile wing sim locked[ack] and cid locked.
"My dad always said, "Don't fix what ain't broke", So I broke it!
EDIT:
Ok after 3 hard resets (first 2 failed) it re-installed. Re-edited the reg with the autoload and profile to show the ext rom and it won't show it reg values are still what I changed them to. Any ideas, My phone is punishing me?
Ok did another hard reset and the ext rom is gone, didn't have to reset in first 3 secs to stop installs. can any1 explain to me how I erased a RAM Drive that isn't supposed to be changable without a PC and even better how to bring it back 4 my purposes I was close before I think it has to do with the virtual drive setup in the reg any1 can help with this?
