Blackberry Connect on Raphael? - Touch Pro, Fuze General

The Raphael might very well be the successor of my ancient Wizard.
But I need Blackberry Connect to run on it. Does anyone has experience (yet) with BBC (and what version?) on Raphael??

If you'd searched "Blackberry connect on Raphael" I believe I have a post with that title.
In TF3D, I go to AT&T Tab... click Messaging... There's a link called "Get Blackberry Connect"... I click it, and it brings me to a nonexistent site:
www.htc.com/us/mobile/connect/P4600
So it will be available, but only via a site that isn't up yet because it hasn't been released.
And that's all I know.

Need Verizon "Wireless Sync" CAB from xv6700

Hey All,
Doing some hacking here...
My company only supports Verizon phones connecting to out Intellisync environment for access to our Exchange environment. Well I'm a Cingular user and don't want to switch. I've gotten a co-worker to grab the Verizon Wireless Sync software from the Verizon web page (rebranded Intellisync product) for me but it's only the WM2003 version. This version does actually work well, but I'm looking for WM5 perfection!
For all their WM5 phones the web site says "included in your phone" so what I was hoping for is that some nice soul with either a Samsung i830 (I know wrong forum) or a xv6700 (Apache) might be able to extract out the Wireless Sync CAB file and post it or shoot me a link or PM.
If not does anybody know where to get the latest WM5 version of Verizon's Wireless Sync product or maybe the Intellisync counterpart?
Any help appreciated - there's got to be more than one way to skin a corporate email system.
Thanks,
-JMS
You can find it here...
I posted the cab installer in the following thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=43555
It will give you what you need - and is the full client, not the cripled one VZW offers. Use it on my 8125 and other WM5 devices...even those that talk to the VZW wireless sync server.
If you have the VZW client installed you should uninstall before installing this one.
Regards - John
Wow, once again the folks on this board are awesome.
Thanks so much, I'll give it a whirl, I really appreciate the help!
-JMS
Hey chybinj,
That worked beautifully, much smaller and better designed for WM5 than that older sync client I had.
Thanks again for your quick help.
-JMS
My pleasure...glad to help - I know my head hurt from all the whacks on my desk casued by previous versions.
If I get a newer version I will repost...may get an upgrade our server in a few weeks.
Regards - John

Where is BB Connect

I cant count the number of times I have read the new release about HTC supporting BB Connect on the S710...but i just got mine and no sign...
Tried the BB Connect that works on my Dash but not luck...PIN Pending.
RD
Whenever I hit "register now" it just goes to the homescreen really wanna get this working....
Same problem
Ciao.
I'm from Italy and I have same problem. No way to get BB Connect work on my HTC S710.
I can't find the PIN to activate it. Infact when I install the BB the phone try to connect but don'f find the PIN and stop the connection (as you told back in home page!!).
I tried to contact HTC customer service and they told me that HTC and RIM maybe will support BB Connect just with Carriers (i.e. TIM or VODAFONE in ITaly, ORANGE in France and UK, etc..). But why a lot of peaple can use BB connect with the carriers they wont and me no???? As you can see, also DOPOD ASIA support BBconnect in HTC devices!! So let's try together to find a way !!!
I really believe in this.
Thank you to everybody.
Davide.
I am guessing we are all using the BB Connect client from the s620... I think we need a new client for the S710
We will likely have to wait, just like last time
until it gets released by Dopod. They seem to get the BB Connect clients out first, and I have never seen a BB Connect client that wasn't model specific, so it will have to be a Vox variant to work on the Vox most likely. Start sniffing and asking around on Dopod boards, at least then they will know we are looking....
There will be a BBC client for the vox. This will be bbc v4, watch this space (or the ftp )

I am dying for BB Connect too, if it's 4.0 that would be awesome!!! I will ditch my dash when that comes out...
Not yet but I will do soon.
There is a full WM6 version waiting in the wings, lets hope it appears soon.
Here you are
It works great in HTC S710 spanish. Good luck.

I have downloaded, the bb connect and notice that it is meant for the windows 5 platform. Although it works on the dash, i dunno whether it will work on the vox as the vox is wm 6. This is my observation from having the hermes where if the hermes is flasg to wm6 the BB connect 4 meant for WM5 doesnot work unless there is some ehex editing on the device to make it look like WM6. Any useH anybody git it to connect on the vox yet.
i am also about to rush out and buy the Vox and just want to confirm this detail before doing so, any body tried it yet?
Just got the stuff, its a dopod C500 and i can safely say that it is working and receiving email. Thank you and apology for doubting the earlier post. All i can say is yippee
I read the XML in the cab, and it says this will work for all WM 5.x versions
This applies to Windows Mobile 5 and Windows Mobile 6 (internal version is 5.2). So, I know this works on my Vox(Win Mobile 6), as I am downloading emails just fine with it now, but does it work on the Dash/S620, etc as well? If it does, what versions does it work on? Just Windows Mobile 6, or also Windows Mobile 5? It should work on both. Now the next question, does it work on other devices like the Samsung BlackJack(Windows Mobile 5)? This would make this the closest we have seen to a universal Blackberry Connect client! One can hope, right?
work fine also in italy by tim
is the best many thanks tp DAVIDE......
It doesn't work on Samsung i600. There is an error when installing.
I may soond noob for this one ... but

Looking For Free IM App For WM6/SmartPhone, and free SSH app

Hi. I'm running a T-Mobile Dash with Windows Mobile 6, and I'm looking for a free IM client that can connect to AIM, at least. I know Windows Live gives me Pocket MSNIM, but only a tiny minority of my friends use that. The on-board Oz Instant Messenger refuses to work with AT&T, and I just get error messages, so I'm kind of at a stand-still right now.
The other thing I'm looking for is a lower priority, I'm trying to find an SSH client for my SmartPhone too. PocketPuTTY, I've heard of, but I can't seem to find it. Again, I'm cheap, so I'm hoping for something free.
There's one catch to all this: I'm running a Mac, so EXE installers are no-go. CABs and SFX (Self-Extracting ZIPs) are usable, but anything more complex isn't going to work.
Thanks for all the help!

Welcome to XDA-Dev
Rule of thumb: follow my articles - I've published full Bibles and roundups on almost all aspects of handheld computing. Your question is answered in the Smartphone General forum, at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=323654
Let me know if you need help in extracing the CAB file of any EXE installers - I'll upload it for you.
Oohh, useful!
Well, thank you. Your article was thorough, and (in the end) informative. I was aware of Mundu, IM+ and Imov messengers, and I was hoping someone had an alternative to them that was free. Your article eventually lead me to the Basic version of Imov, but the problem is that it's one of those set-up EXEs that I can't seem to crack. I've managed to find a download of Imov Basic 1.22, and I'd be willing to provide it for you.
Thank you for the offer, and all the help.

Have you tried Palringo yet?
Fring is a free IM app too(Just released a new version today that supports AIM). Palringo is pretty good too.

Since I don't see it mentioned, you may be able to use PocketPuTTY,
http://www.pocketputty.net/ ,
for a SSH application. It works for me. The file that you download while named PocketPuTTY.exe is a Windows Mobile binary. Just copy it to your phone and run it. Hope it works for you.
So regarding IM clients Do they all use webgateways provided by the Makers. Are there any that directly connect to the AIM, Yahoo!, and MSN Servers?
Not that I walk around wearing a tinfoil hat. but I just like to know where my data is being sent.
Octro Chat uses one. But I can't find any info as to if mundu uses one. If they all use it I will get over it but I was just curious is anyone knew.
pocket putty doesnt run on smartphones just ppc. i am also looking for a free shh client for smartphone (wm standard)

Dial-up Networking Via Bluetooth Under WM5 AKU3 / WM6: WORKING at last!! A MUST!!!

Guys and gals, sorry for not re-editing the entire article so that I can incorporate the update into the main body of the article. Hope it’ll be still be understandable.
UPDATE (10/02/2007): there is an even better, easier-to-install and, what is more, even MS Smartphone (Windows Mobile Standard)-compatible hack. Just download the CAB file linked from THIS post (I’ve also mirrored it HERE, just to be on the safe side, should you not want to register at XDA-Dev to access the download), install it (by simply clicking it on your handheld), power down your device (if it’s a Pocket PC – in order to make sure the Registry changes are all flushed) and restart it.
This hack will add full BT DUN to both platforms. I’ve thoroughly tested it on both my WM6 HTC Universal (a Pocket PC) and WM6 HTC s710 / Vox (a Smartphone) and found it excellent. Note that the traditional, BT PAN-based Internet Sharing will still work alongside with the added BT DUN (tested on both devices).
Note that it has a minor annoyance. After you terminate the connection, you will still be unable to access the Net on the Pocket PC or Smartphone that you used as a modem (also see THIS and THIS for similar bug reports). The solution to this is pretty simple: instead of (lengthy and/or awkward) soft resetting your handheld, just make sure you tap either the data connection icon in Comm Manager (this seem to be sufficient with Smartphones) or, as with, it seems, with Pocket PC’s (like the Universal), just dis- and, then, re-enable the phone connection itself (or, alternatively, en-, and, then, re-disable Flight mode). This all makes this small bug easy to live with.
Finally, Smartphone users: remember NOT to long-press the Red dial button to lock your device – it’ll also terminate the call. Instead, use the standard lock menu accessible via the Power button.
There is also a tutorial on making USB connection work with Modem Link HERE, should it be messed up. Also, the entire thread might be worth giving a read, should you still have problems.
Thanks for FX Belloir for pointing out this hack!
(end of update, the now-outdated original article follows. This means you’ll want to prefer the new hack explained above, NOT the old one I still keep for historical purposes only. It's only the first sections, which explain what this is all about, are worth reading for casual users.)
Anyone having read my article New dial-up networking model of the WM5 AKU3 – a must if you use your WM phones as modems knows WM5 AKU3 (and, of course, WM6) has dramatically changed the way dial-up networking is handled – not necessarily in the good direction. (Please DO read the article if you don’t have a clue what I’m referring to and you have ever wanted to use your Windows Mobile handheld as a cellular modem!)
Microsoft, so far, haven’t really done anything to the problem, except for publishing an article (also discussed for example HERE). Therefore, hackers needed to concentrate their forces on solving the problem. After the first failed attempts (for example mine, as is explained in the first-linked article), at last, some excellent XDA-Developers folks have managed to enable this feature with a comparatively easy-to-do hack. I’ve developed the hack further, making it compatible with several handheld models and ROM versions (the previous version available at XDA-Developers doesn’t support the Universal, Wizard and, probably, several other models because it doesn’t do any forced Registry import – it might only be compatible with the P3600.)
The hack makes it possible to use most WM5 AKU3 / WM6 devices in the traditional (pre-WM5 AKU3) DUN dial-up method, in addition to the new, in WM5 AKU3 introduced Internet Sharing.
This means you can use BOTH technologies and can have the advantages of BOTH approaches. With the “traditional” DUN dial-up, you still have the freedom of NOT having to manually start / reconnect Internet Sharing AND the ability to use clients not supporting the BT Personal Area Network (PAN) profile required by the new Internet Sharing. And, as Internet Sharing is still supported, you can still have a real internet sharing approach, making it possible to use the Internet on both the Windows Mobile device acting as a modem and the client that connects to it (and can still have the other goodies Internet Sharing also offers: for example, the accessibility of the phone even with an ongoing Internet session.)
Again, it’s almost impossible to emphasize how important, how revolutional this hack is! If you’ve EVER tried to use your WM5 AKU3 / WM6 Windows Mobile phone as a modem you know Internet Sharing can be a REAL pain in the back, particularly if the client you’d like to use it from doesn’t support BT PAN.
Installation
Import THIS registry import file (via, say, the brand new, EXCELLENT desktop-side Registry editor of SOTI’s Pocket Controller 6) and copy the contents of THIS file to the \Windows directory of your Windows Mobile device. Soft reset your device and voliá: after this, clients discovering the Bluetooth services your device provides will also see it offering the DUN service (in addition to the PAN one) as can also be seen in HERE.
After this, everything will work just great – as in the pre-AKU3 days. Follow for example THIS tutorial on using DUN modems if you don’t know how it’s done.
Problems
It’s incompatible with some HTC Wizard ROM versions, namely, the official AKU 3.3 T-Mobile ROM – see THIS. It, however, has no problems with mfrazzz's XDA Mobile 6 Release 2a Full at all.
It seems it’s incompatible with WM6 MS Smartphones (Windows Mobile Standard). I’ve tested this on my HTC Vox (S710).
Compatibility
In my tests, it worked just great on my HTC Universal and HTC Wizard. A lot of people have reported other success stories; for example, with the AKU3 HTC Trinity (P3600).
Verdict
Again and again: if you EVER plan to use your handheld as a modem, this hack is a MUST!
UPDATE (11/02/2007): There's a version specifically meant for the T-Mo Dash is at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=340762 .
Note that if you have a MS Smartphone (as opposed to a Pocket PC), it MUST be application unlocked for the hack to work. See for example See for example http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?blog=3&p=2004&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1 for more links on application unlocking. Note that app unlocking is absolutely legal.

If you have bluetooth on your device, then I believe it will work on your device! If you are trying to configure the bluetooth {"DUN"} dial-up configuration setup on your Motorola Q9c, then it will never work. Just install the bluetooth Dun.cab on your Motorola Q9c to the MAIN MEMORY! (NOT IN THE WINDOWS FOLDER)! Soft reset your device. Next turn the bluetooth on, pair the two devices, now the Motorola Q9c is ready to be use as a "modem" for bluetooth {"DUN"} dial-up. Nothing else is to be done to the Motorola Q9c. The bluetooth {"DUN"} dial-up configuration setup should already be on the other device (PDA, Laptop, ect...) that you paired with the Motorola Q9c............! The directions that I'm giving you are for the bluetooth Dun.cab in my thread only............!
VZW Moto Q not working
Okay so I tried the .cab file and stupid me forgot to back up my device before hand. Yeah now I don't have any working Bluetooth.
2 questions.
1) Could someone please provide me with the files from a WM5 AKU3 phone?
ATCIUI.exe
ATCIUI.lnk
atcmdint.dll
bthatci.dll
2) If I can't get these files from someone will a Master Reset get my device back to normal or will it leave the broken files still in place.
This worked great on my Treo 750 w/ATT used it on my TomTom 920. THanks!
Anyone got luck using this on a HTC S730?

Your quest is similar to one I have. I have a T-Mobile Dash with HTC-S620 WM6.1 Smartphone ROM and EDGE data that I want to access the internet from a SE TM506 with HSDPA 3G data. There is no clientside BT PAN on the S620 and no way to BT DUN to the TM506. I have clientside serial port on the S620 to the TM506 but no app to take advantage.
So far quest was futile.

Help for WM6 GSM dial-up internet connection
Hello,
can anyone help me?.
I would access internet with my cell phone (Samsung SGH i780 os WM6) without having any kind of fast data connections with my provider, like gprs edge or hsdpa.
In other word I would connect to the service with a dial-up gsm connection at 9600bps, but WM6 seems to haven't capability to connect to internet this way.
I found here: http://www.modaco.com/content/smartp.../#entry1048254 some related like informations, think to understand that this post tells about to connect a BT device like gps, trough BT connection of a WM6 cell phone, via DUN to internet; someone think this could also be useful for me? If so how?
Please forgive me my english I hope it could have be understandable.
Tankyou.

It says US and UK on the Live Mesh blog. I am however having trouble at the point where it's trying to add the device, possibly because I'm on GPRS at the moment and it might be timing out, I guess.
SQL CE error
When I try to install I get this error message....
"Live Mesh was unable to find a suitable version of SQL CE on this device. Unable to install Live Mesh."
I've tried to install SQL, i downloaded it from microsoft directly, and its listed as "SQLServerCompact 3.5 Core" under Remove Programs....
Any ideas??? I really want to use this....
Yes, it's only for US and UK
I installed the mesh cab, and using an "US" account (a french one, but with my country changed to US ) it WORKS ! And works well. I have now a "cabstore" synced with my own server, live mesh and my TyTN II.
Great service !
Got it last night, works great with my XV6800.

I've got this exact same problem. I posted over on the Microsoft Mesh forum and am waiting for a conclusive answer. It's been passed over to the Mobile Dev team apparently.
http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en/LiveMesh/thread/8e80d590-9c88-4522-bdab-3d23bea718c0
I wonder if it's got anything to do with cooked roms? I'm running CRC WM 6.1 v13.0 on my Hermes.
--Update--
Apparently there is an issue with cooked ROMs as they don't all include SQL. Installing SQL seperately will not help unless you use a version lower the 3.5 but even that has not been proven yet.
I'm going to try and find an older version of SQL and give it a bash.

Limited Users, anyone else got the same problem?
cheeers Tom
I use mesh for a back up right now and it works great for my home computers. Some things that bugged me are:
No remote desktop.
It will only sync your remote directories to the main memory. I tried to sync my work folder and it didn't place it in the storage card.
It launches external applications to view the mesh folders (Pocket IE) and the file explorer to view local folders.
All in all, a nice first attempt. Build in remote desktop and I would PAY for a service like this!
@Networkguy: it's still the first beta... keep waiting
Unfortunately i can't find a today plugin. This is sad. Anyone has an idea?
