BT connection to Becker PNA Traffic Assist Z 200 - HTC Vox

Hello,
I have a Becker PNA Traffic Assist Z 200 that offers a BT hands free function.
With my Nokia 6300 and 5500 all works find but not with the S710.
The connection is established and the telephone book unsuccessful transmit to the Z200.
But if I call somewhere or get a call the caller can't here me. On the Z200 the quality is also really bad like crosstalk.
Is there any possibility to get the issue under control?
I tested it with the original HTC ROM, Dr. Martin Gonzo 6.1 and now I run the NEO ROM for Vox v0.9.
With all ROMs the same problem.

I do not think the MS BT stack allows this functionality. I have been using the JETWare extension to increase the feature set of the stack. It might allow what you are asking, they have a 30 day free trial so you can see if will work without purchasing.
If it works, send me a PM.

Thanks for the tip, only to clarify
- The connection are established successfully
- The phone book are successfully transfered to the Z200
Dialing are working as expected "only" the voice quality on my site is bad and my voice are not forwarded to the call partner.
I have also tested with JETware but still the same.
With other hands free units all works good, like the Parrot 3200 LS.

I have the same problem using the HTC S710 together with a Becker Z200. Quality of the peer voice is miserable. My voice is not audible to the peer.
Did you solve the problem?
Is this a Z200 problem or a HTC S710 problem?
Thanks for any information.
Tasos

I have to assume that it's a problem with the Becker. I have used my S710 with both a Garmin and a TomTom device without any issues. On both, the phone book is transferred and the voice quality on a call is fine.

To date I tried and failed with:
-- The original S710 (with and without the latest device software upgrade)
-- A T-Mobile MDA Vario III (here I had also issues with pairing)
-- An HTC Touch Diamond
In contrast I tried and succeeded achieving good quality connections to the Z200 with:
-- A Nokia 5300
-- A Blackberry
On the German pocketnavigation.de forum, posters claim successful pairing and good voice quality with some Sony/Ericsson and Motorola mobile phones.
I thought I let you know.

This issue is still present in Becker Z203 (and probably Z201, Z202, Z204)
My old WM2003SE bases smartphone worked fine, but with my WM6.5.3 smartphone, I only get distorted audio.
It seems that it is related to missing A2DP support in Z20x devices.

Bluetooth with Car (Toyota)

I've got a Bluetooth Car audio in my Toyota from Toyota. But I cannot establish a connection between my PDA (BA) and the car.
I Know there are not all bluetooth profiles installed on the BA.
I'm using WM2003 SE and the Widcomm Stack 1.0.3900.
How can I change/enhance the Bluetooth stack?
Is it working with WM5?

I've the same problems with Ford.
I 've already posted this problem in every forum I know - but hadn't got any answer yet.

@dieterpapa
I have a solution which is working for me since last night :!:
I reinstalled the MDA3 from scratch with the latest ROM version (from march this year) and applied the audio gateway patch. :!: :!: :!: Do not restore any Backup made before.
Now it is working :!::!::!:

Hi jekal,
thanks for the info. Which ROM version are you using ?
To my best knowledge I believe to have the latest version, too.
I did reinstall from scratch in April with the ROM mentioned below.
What's the difference to your version ?
What type of a Ford handsfree device are you using ?
Dieter
Hi dieterpapa
I'm using the same ROM version mentioned in your signature.
Did you apply the audio gateway patch?
Well I am using a Toyota Blutooth car kit, not a Ford.

Audio Gateway patch ?
What I still have to apply is: BA_OEM_AudioGW.CAB
Is this the correct patch ?
Dieter
PS: Jens seems quite German/Austrian/Swiss.....
Yup, it is german, but I think we should keep our english for the others.
My patch is called Version 1.33g. Latest file in Cab is from Jan 27th 2005.
If you have this applied I probably cannot be of any further help.

did try with ford - doesn`t work. Ford only supports a "handsfree" bluetooth profile - the BA only has "headset".
I`m still trying to get an information how to upgfrade the BA to "handsfree" BT profile.

Bluetooth & Toyota Prius
I have an XDA 2 (UK - marketed by O2) & have (after 5 months) discovered that Toyota admit to having a problem with bluetooth connectivity for "some models" (three newer phones belonging to garage employees also failed to bond when I took it back after trying to create a bond for a week& these were not PDA phones!).
They tell me that if the bluetooth version I have has two specific files, it SHOULD be possible to connect - the files are HFPv1 M3 Profile & OPP v 1.1 The problem I have is finding out whether I have these files - I have an e-mail in to O2 at the moment & will be happy to let you know what they come up with - from Toyota's guarded reaction the XDA is clearly a "problem" model & what I do not know is what happens if I prove I DO have these files & still can't make a bond!
Toyota say they can't supply a list of compatible phones because "it would soon become obsolete" but technically minded folks might like to know that they say you need Bluetooth 1.1, Hands Free Profile 1.0 & Object Push 1.1
As I could grow old waiting for O2 to get back to me I'm afraid I gave up - if you want the PDA function of the Xda2 & a phone which will bond with the Toyota system, the Orange SPV M600 bonded instantly & seems to work well even near my home where the signal is pretty poor!

Having a similar problem with a US 2006 Acura TL and a Cingular 3125. The phonoe pairs, but only has limited features. Call waiting drops the call and routes the waiting call to voice mail. Most annoying.
I understand that the Cingular ROM build I have *should* be able to support the HFP, but it was not included in the build for some reason.
Looking for a way to push address book, handle call waiting correctly, display battery life and signal strength on car dash display. As far as I can tell, HFP should handle some or all of those.
Any thoughts??

I'm considering purchasing either a 3125 or 8525, but I am very concerned about losing the ability to accept a second call via my Acura TL handsfree system. Almost all of my calling takes place in my car, and this feature is critical to me. Does anyone know if the released Cingular 8525 works with the TL?

S710 (vox) bluetooth carkit probs

I received my shiny new S710 today (replacing my imate sp5) i am having terrible problems with bluetooth and my car kit (Parrot Ck3100 with latest sortware) The phone connects and syncs ok but disconnects after a few mins and refuses to connect again.
I have an old motorola h605 headset that shows similar problems of not connecting or dropping the connection.
The Ck3100 kit has worked faultlessly with my imate sp5 for the last year.
Has anyone else had any problems with headsets or car kits?!
I have done a hard reset on the S710 and have nothing installed, and also disconnected the power to the CK3100 for 1/2 an hour before attempting to re setup the pairing

Nokia CK7W
On a similar note, while my Vodafone V1415 works with my Nokia CK7W, I cannot end a call by pressing the button. Last number redial (two presses) and Hold or something like it (press and hold) are OK. To be fair, the CK7W is a little dated, but has proven to be fine with both Blue Angel and Hermes.
On the plus side the audio is good, without any echo for the remote caller.
Nokia CK-7W and S710
As with the Qtek 9100, the S710 seems not to operate soomthly with the NOKIA carkit CK-7w. I have to turn volume up to 100% and the sound from the speaker is still rather quite. The person i am calling is complaining that the line is not perfect. So for me it is back to the standard corded earpiece.
So any tips using the CK-7W and vox succesfully together are welcome!
@mcroonen
It's strange that I don't have the same experience as you. What version is your software? Compare with mine in my signature. I'm afraid I can't offer any suggestions, it seems to be pot luck! Maybe we find some variations in the radio stacks that will sort this out.
further to this i managed to borrow a e650 (vox) from work and it worked 100% with my car kit and tomtom and laptop!
I spoke to htc who said they had tested with the parrot ck3100 and said it worked 100%, as my phone was struggling to be detected by several devices and also struggling to detect other things that they recomended getting it replaced.
Spoke to handtech who said they would replace asap

Had the same problem. Qtek8310 was working fine, S710 not. After a reset of the Parrot also the S710 is working fine.

Unfortenately deleting the settings introduces echo and noise (voice sounds like robot). I think S710 and Nokis Ck-7w are not made for eachother.
I will try using the Parrot 3100 as on alternative BT solution..

Hi,
You should visit http://www.parrot.com/uk/support/downloads
and get the latest software for your Parrot. You will need a bluetooth enabled laptop or to get your bluetooth enabled PC near your car!
Flash your parrot, then connect choosing a windows CE device. It will fully sync your phonebook too.
I use the Orange E650 and connect to my Holux GPS receiver and Parrot 3100 at the same time with no problems at all.

Which ROM to use to achieve compatibility with mercedes bluetooth SAP

Hallo experts,
I am a newbie to this forum and a greenhorn concerning programming. But I bought the HTC Kaiser in order to get it running with my Mercedes Bluetooth SAP V2 Cradle (Article number Mercedes Benz: A204 820 0535). Unfortunately, the cradle does not work with the Kaiser. Do you know any solution (another ROM? for example) that may change the situation?
Thank you all very much for your appreciated help!

Don't have a Merc....One day maybe. Had similar problems as you with a Parrot bluetooth car kit though.
Found that Dutty 29 Apr, and Laurentius' latest roms work completely with it though. Other roms may work too (don't want to tread on anybody's toes).
Some of the older cooked roms would either not route the audio properly, would only work for one call then stop routing, etc.
The latest rom I have tried is PDAViet'. Very fast in some aspects, Very slow at others. The Parrot car kit has real problems working with this rom.
Basically, try a Dutty (latest), or the latest Laurentius and I reckon everything will be fine.
Thank you very much Blartiartfast for you rapid and competent reply!
So I will try to change the Rom to the one's you mentioned and will report the result
Have a good time m8

i've had problems with both a hermes and kaiser connecting up to the mercs bluetooth.
What i found i had to do was to get both the merc and the kaiser to search and connect to each other at exactly the same time. I found that if you made the merc search for the phone it wouldn't auth, and vice versa. But oddly making both connect at the same time worked.
Hope this helps.

Problems always persist with HTC Kaiser and MB bluetooth SAP
As stated in the replies to my question (Thanks to all of those who answered), I tried the last Dutty ROM and the last Laurentius ROM - but in no way I have been able to establish an adequate bluetooth SAP connection between my Kaiser and the mercedes benz bluetooth sap v2 cradle (I provide the original art. no A204 820 0535 in order to be more precise about the item I use).
Does anybody have a step by step "cooking receipt" how I could establish the communication? I suppose that the MB bluetooth sap device uses A2DP, but nobody could confirm until now...
The Kaiser recognizes the MB bluetooth sap device on a regular basis as "UHI-SN3483" and sometimes as "MB-Phone". The MB device recognizes the Kaiser as "Pocket_PC" with the Laurentius ROM and as "TYTN II" with the Dutty ROM. Note that the "Remote SIM Access" was enabled in both ROM's.
I tried also to modify the registry entry
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\Sys\COD from decimal 5898764 (Smartphone) to decimal 5374476. But no connection at all.
I didn't use JETware because I do not want an HFP but a SAP connection.
Another point I could not deal with is that the Dutty ROM features in Settings an item named "Bluetooth SIM Access". What does it is for and how to set it? pointing on it does not result in another effect than display in the header where was located Settings the term "BT Remote SIM Acce"
Sorry I have been that long, but I really need to get into this bluetooth SAP connection with my Kaiser
Thank you all

With every ROM that I have used before this one - it has been a rather hit and miss endeavor to link my Parrott bluetooth in my car with my phone. I USUALLY have to tell the PArrott that I want to link with a phone and step through things.
With the DEATH V3.5 ROM installed I got in my car and was in a hurry and thought I would sync them later.
After I started the car the phone indicated that the PARROTT wanted to connect and establish a connection - I indicated that it should be allowed - I was then asked for a key code on my phone- I looked at the PARROTT display device and had a 4 digit code there - keyed that into my phone and it paired easily.
Go figure...
Bill
I work for Mercedes and I paired my Kaiser 10s of times. I am guessing you are in the UK because we don't use the sim access cradles. I don't see why our technology would be better than yours. The cradle we sell that works is 6-7-87-5878 But I doubt it will work there.
I was trying to use a Nokia 616 car kit with T mobile sim in the UK, but T mobile does not support Sim acccess profile with their sims. I am about to try an o2 sim which hopefully will.
If the NB uses sim access profile and the provider does not support that use of its sim, then the Nokia will not even allow fallback to bluetooth car profile.
I hope you proble is not being caused by the above but thought you should be aware in case!

It does works for MBZ. I am using it without any issue
Htc touch diamond and Mercedes SAP kit
i have a mercedes sap v2 car kit, i have the same problem being not able to pair with windows mobile based phones, the car can see the phone but phone cannot recieve the password confirm and so connection fails.
i tried many roms, added the SAP settings, and yesterday had the chance to try the new HTC touch DIAMOND on car, but same results.
i think that solving this problem is just a software issue, first in windows profiles, or as addition from Phone manufacturers (as HTC) ,because the car kit is already fixed to car and cannot be modified to use other profile.
but i still have hope that the professionals in this forum can help to solve this problem, before any of Microsoft or HTC. Please share any information to help
Thank you
Mercedes Benz makes five BlueTooth adapters that have five proprietary firmware that each adapts to a different type of phone. For example, a Vorizon CDMA BT adapter will not work with Sprint CDMA phone and vice versa. So in essence, if you have a AT&T service, and use a Motorola Phone, MBZ provides a specific BT adapter, that would be close to impossible to pair with an HTC device.
I would suggest going to an authorized Mercedes Benz parts department at their dealership and request to try all 5 adapters b4 you commit to buying one.
Only In the new 2008 and 2009 C-Class MBZ cars the BT adapter is universal and built in. In earlier models and other models (2008's), the BT adapters would need to be purchased independently; a 2X4 device that installs in the center glove box that works as a link between the media port of the car ( Hands Free) and the phone.
My 2 cents....
try the neon radio rom
i tried it in one of my friends car
if it did not work (change your car to fit your phone )

voip not through loud speaker possible?

did anyone succeeded using voip through the normal phone speakr? (the ear speaker, not the music/loud speaker), preferably with the integrated wm6 voip?
if so, what is your rom type and version?
what is the size and date of your \windows\rtcdll.dll?
thanks.
not sure if any non real phone apps got access to that speaker
if it is possible then i believe that programs have to be written to use it
and skype being developd as a pda program rather then a pdaphone program
prob use the only speaker normal pda's got
i could be wrong though
maybe you can get it ot use a bluetooth headset with less hassel
HEllo,
I discovered yesterday the issue with the speaker and went through many forum but did not find any positive answer on how to get the sound directed to the good speaker.when using SIP.
I even did not understood if it is a problem of the touch cruise only or a general issue ...
Is the issue solvable - So I can still hope - or is there any hardware limitation
This issue means that using SIP with the Touch cruise is not possible except if we agree to have everyone in the room listening to the phone call ...
So if you have any positive information/solution ... Thank you
Franck
Search for a sip client agenet mobile or something. It's not exactly the name, but I can't dind it again. But this one is the only one that works at least on some of the smartphones with the earspeaker. And they want to add more supported devices in the future.
Generally it's a general problem, not a TC problem. The telcos just don't want a proper SIP integration in WM or they even deactivate it completely. It's a kind of squeeze to Microsoft. But MS won't disrespect them because they all like money.
Thank you for the answer.
I found Agephone mobile. Is it the one you were thinking about ?
I just tried it but no success, sound still come out through the rear speaker ...
Franck
Yeah, that's it. I've tried it right now as well but no luck. It's quite useless, as long as the ear speaker is not working. But it's not their blame. On the Trinity it's working allegedly.
Maybe we can them them a log. For some models they fix it.
phone speaker
it must work cause it works for me.
Hello papasieg,
Does it really work for you ? with the sound coming from the normal sound speaker and not the rear one ?
Take care that a trick exist with some SIP softphone which reduces the level on the rear sound speaker, giving the impression that it comes from the normal sound speaker but is is not the case ...
I am going to have another look at agephone
I had a discussion with eyepmedia (they produce eyepcommunicator). They answered:
Regarding our SIP softphone - eyeP Communicator for Windows Mobile – we have not yet made any certifications (nor tests) with the HTC Touch series. Until last year, previous HTC devices (HTC TyTN, 9100, etc) exposed a hardware bug which did not allow to handle the back and phone speakers correctly. But we hope this issue has been sorted out by HTC on new devices.
For information, we intend to make a new certification versus an HTC Touch Cruise before the end of the year. If your project has shorter timelines, then I suggest organizing a conf call to a date/time which works fine with you.
Franck
New test with Age phone
I made a new test with Agephone Version 2.63 (2008.08.28) and did not managed to have it working properly (I tried several configuration for the audio device).
So if someone has a working configuration ...
Sincerely,
Franck

Nokia CK-7W with Diamond, it works!

Well, this is not really a question or problem. But just a headsup that the Diamond works just fine with my Nokia CK-7W.
However it would also be nice to hear from you guys (and girls) as well, since I can't imagine I'm the only one with succes!
You might wonder "Why the hell do you post this?!". Well, that's simple because when I wanted to find out whether that Nokia carkit would work together with the Diamond I coulnd't find anything.
And since my experiences with Nokia carkits and HTC phones weren't all that good (read: BAD, lots of echo and weird connection problems) I was pretty anxious to give this a try.
After testing it on another CK-7W, which was already built in a car, I figured it worked perfectly so I took the plunge and got one for my car.
(Before you ask, why no parrot or other brand? I was able to get my hands on this one really cheap.)
The only problem I got was the first time I wanted to pair the device. Every time after entering the 4 digit passcode I got a message saying the passcode was incorrect. Instantly, not even trying to connect. After leaving it all alone for 10-15 minutes and I tried to connect again it suddenly worked without any problems. And it's still working with no issues at all.
ROM I use:
SWIFTBL WWE DIAMOND ROM V7.5
OS Version: CE 5.2.20755 (Build 20755 AKU 1.4.0)
Base ROM Version: 1.93.405.1 UK WWE
So.. more succes stories here? Or problems?
Hi
I have the same setup, Nokia CK-7W in my volvo s60 connected to my MDA Compact IV running swiftbldade 7.5.
It all works perfect.
I even have MS Voice command setup with it and it annonuces incoming callers and messages perfectly and voice dialling works perfect as well.
Call quality is very good as well.
Shaks
Hey - I've got my CK-7W working fine too, except I'd like to also enable wireless stereo... but the option doesn't seem to exist... I bought the CK-7W off a friend, and he was able to use wireless stereo, but I cn't - has anyone else had any success...?
Relly something I want for using TomTom, etc...
Hi i have CK-7W car kit and I am having problems getting my Diamond to pair can you please advise how you guys paired your ones?
Can't say anything more than I just used the normal way to pair, go to bluetooth settings, search for device and select the carkit + enter correct passcode.
I did however have some problems in the beginning. It would find the carkit but after entering the passcode it said pairing failed.
But when I tried later again it went without a problem, and it paired everytime without a problem ever since.
I dont think the ck-7w supports stereo audio. There are however apps that can route the audio over the carkit. BTAudio is one called if I remember correctly. That way you can have the tomtom over the carkit, but quality isn't that good really.
And some say that using that audio routing also gives 'problems' sometimes, as in it sometimes seems like there is audio (e.g. the car radio is muted) but you don't hear anything for a few secs. So that can be quite annoying.
hmmm??? My diamond wont even pick up the car kit during the search!
I had some problems pairing in the first place...
Don't try to search for the car-kit using the phone, just have your Diamond on BT visible to others, and the car-kit will try to connect automatically... I think you might need to hold the button on the car-kit down for like 10 seconds for it to search, but definately let the kit find the phone, not the other way around...
I fitted one of these to my brother in law's car the other day. Tested it with my diamond, but i expected it to be cross compatible.
Bit offtopic, but what's the advantage compared with a just as pricy parrot system?
Hi Y'all,
I am using my Diamond with the nokia CK-7W and it works fine as well. Paired up without much fuss....

Eh.. none? I find the quality better compared to my old ck3300 parrot carkit. However, this one doesnt have a small lcd display or something. Not that I missed the lcd screen though, but sure was a nice feature.
Best thing about the parrot was that it's possible to put a new firmware on it. Could make them a little bit more 'future-proof'.
Nokia CK-7W with HTC Touch Diamond2, VITO VoiceDialer
Pairing the device was easy. In coming calls are working. Push on the carkit button and I can answer the call.
The problem that I have is that I can't do a voice call. If I push on the carkit button nothing happens. I would have expected that the VoiceDialer app would be started and I could make a voice call. The VoiceDialer app works without bluetooth.
Has anyone an idea how I get voice dialing working?
Remark:
With my pervious cell phone Motorola L6 was this possible. Pushed on the carkitt button, wait on the beep, say the name, when recognized it repeats the name and the number was dialed by the phone.
