Cab For Cingular mMode Internet Settings - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Windows Mobile ROM De

Hi,
I know there are cabs available for storing and reinstalling cingular MMS settings -- particularly useful - for those of us who are getting infected with frequent flash and reflashing - at least, it saves time from having to enter those settings all over again.
I am on the old ATT legacy plan that still uses mMode connections. I want to be able to save these settings in a cab or other format so that I can store it on my SD card and restore it whenever I flash and reflash my system.
How do you make such cabs?

Please search next time.

Moderator -- thanks very much. I searched using the "mMode" as search term (since the mMode settings are slightly different from the regular ATT settings).
Anyhow, I installed the cab but it didn't work. As indicated, those of us on ATT Legacy (old) plans do not use the MediaNet different settings, but instead use the mMode settings, which are outlined below. I will like to write these as cab file, and would appreciate any help necessary in doing so.
Internet Connection Settings for ATT Legacy (mMode) Plans
Tap Start.
Tap Settings.
Tap the Connections tab.
Tap the Connections icon.
Tap the Tasks tab.
Tap Edit my proxy server.
Verify settings:
Check "This network connects to the Internet."
Check "this network uses a proxy server to connect to the Internet".
Proxy Server: 10.250.250.54
Click Advanced.
Verify settings:
HTTP Server: 10.250.250.54 port: 8080
WAP Server: 10.250.250.54 port: 8080
Secure WAP Server: Blank port: 9203
Socks Server: 127.0.0.1 port: 1080
Type: Socks 4
Tap OK twice.
Tap the Advanced tab.
Tap Select Networks.
Choose "GPRS Connection" from the dropdown bar.
Note: If "GPRS Connection" doesn't appear as an option:
Tap New.
Input "GPRS connection".
Tap the Proxy settings tab.
Input "10.250.250.54" in the Proxy server field.
Tap Ok.
Tap Ok twice.

Problems with WM6 the real thing

I just updated to WM6 and everything is working fine except i cant connect to T-Mobile GPRS anymore, it will start to connect and then disconnect right away. Also my MMS and SMS messages arent sending, how can i fix this?
You have to remove a '0' from the IP Address of one of the servers - for example the IP address should be 192.56.12.34, but the settings make it 192.056.12.34. It it this extra '0' that breaks it. I can't remember exactly where this is but, Settings, Connections, Connections and then somewhere in My ISP I think
I am sure someone on here will correct me shortly.......
If the seaching on this Forum didn't suck so much you wouldn't have needed to post
Andy
yea but where to i go to change all that, i dont know much about this so please someone help.

Try This Had The Same Problem:
For GPRS:
Start-Settings-Connections tab-Connections
Click Add A New Modem Connection, Under Enter A Name For The Connection Put In T-Mobile GPRS. Then For Select A Modem Click Cellular Line (GPRS). Click Next Then For Access Point Name Put wap.voicestream.com, then next again and then finish. And Now It Should Work.
For MMS:
Tap Start again.
Tap Messaging.
Tap Menu.
Tap MMS Configuration.
Tap the Servers tab.
Tap New.
Enter T-Mobile MMS in the Server Name field.
Enter 216.155.165.50 in the Gateway field.
Enter 8080 in the Port number field.
Enter http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms in the Server address field.
Tap to select T-Mobile GPRS Or The Internet If T-Mobile GPRS Isnt For Selection from the Connect via drop down list.
Tap to select WAP 2.0 from the WAP Version dropdown.
Tap OK.
Scroll to PictureMessaging and tap Set As Default.
Tap OK.
MUST HAVE GPRS SET-UP FIRST IN ORDER TO DO THE MMS CONFIGURATION!

MMS after WM6 upgrade

Upgraded my c600 to WM6 using karhoe's excellent guide. I now have no MMS folder. Are SMS and MMS now combined in WM6 or do I need to download cabs to get it to work. I have received a MMS and can't down load it but not sure why. It appears in my SMS in box.
Any help appreciated
In EA ROM, the SMS and MMS are separated, did you upgrade your ROM ?
Yes followed your guide to the letter but now only have SMS and email after selecting messages from the menu. It doesn't mention MMS and I can't find anywhere to check MMS settings in connections or any other menu!!

HELP
I Hit this problem but have now solved it....
In WM6 (Perfect English Rom and Vanilla ROM's) MMS is now integrated with the Text messages and giving it the correct settings to get it working isn't that obvious, the MMS connection settings are buried under the menus.
You need to firstly set your GRPS settings according to your mobile network.
Start > Settings > Connections > GPRS
then you have to set your network's MMS settings..
Start > Messenging > Text Messages > New > MMS > Menu > Options > Message Options > Menu >MMSC Settings > Menu > New
If you need your GPRS and MMS settings then contact your operator or have a search of this site's forums, or look in this thread I use o2 in the UK and this is what I have...

Hi.
I am an absolute newbie for a WM Device. I just got my HTC s710 two days ago.
Can anyone help me with a step-by-step setting for Vodafone Live settings ?
I use the network wizard but the settings don't work. Not been able to find anything on Google either.
I open IE n can only browse the default favourites. Cannot download anything either.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks
I had a problem here in Germay to, but after my first try Vodafone sent me a text message. I don't know if this works for you, but maybe it will. Go to settings-> connetions->GPRS->Vodafone Internet and change Acces Point to event.vodafone.(what ever india has, here it's de) Then try again!
the connection setup wizard does work for vodafone in India.
try that.
It configures everything.
EDIT:
sorry i didn't notice that you have already tried that.

Hi!
I'm using Hutch-WAP for data-usage on my Vox, since Vodafone Live settings dont seem to work on this smartphone.
You might have got the Hutch GPRS and WAP settings in Connection Settings after running the network wizard.
Just check, Hutch-WAP settings should be:
Connects to: WAP Network
Access Point: portalnmms
Rest settings are default.
Then, in Phone Settings>Connections,Select Proxy and edit the Hutch-WAP Proxy.
Connects from: WAP network
Connects to: The Internet
Proxy(name : port): 10.10.1.100:9401
Type: HTTP
In Connections>Menu>Advanced,
Select:
Internet Connection: Hutch-WAP
Work Connection: Automatic
WAP connection: Hutch-WAP
Secure WAP: Auto.
Then in Internet Explorer, Menu>Tools>Options>Connections:
Check Automatically detect settings.
Select Network: The Internet
These settings work fine for me, you can try and let me know.

i really dont understand why Vodafone Live wont work on a WM device.... works like a charm on Symbian S60 n UIQ .... and the best part is Vodafone Live is free !!!
@phreaker18,
yes, even I don't understand why it doesnt work fine with out of the box settings, and till someone comes out with the correct answer, we have to use workarounds.
It does work great with Symbian, i checked my SIM in a NOKIA, and Vodafone Live worked without modifying any settings.
And Vodafone Live is NOT FREE, its just that it doesnt have any rental, but you are charged for data transfer.

Touch Pro ROM on a little known network

I've been plying with ROMs on my ATT Fuze for a while and feel pretty good about it. My future sister-in-law just got her husband a Touch Pro but they use ACS (Alaska Comunication Services). Now when I load a ROM on my phone and when I put my SIM in for the first time it asks to setup the carrier and ATT is the first on the list so I never have worried about this step. What if ACS is not on the very short list of carriers, what will in need to know when I select other, what is it going to ask me?
Thanks.
*bump*
I am also on a smaller carrier.... Einstein Wireless (aka Einstein PCS)... May carrier also isn;t on the list.. text messaging and calling works.. but not internet or picture messaging ... Any suggestions?
P.S. Below is the list of settings I used on my Tilt to get them to work..
Under settings, coto Connections...
Name for connection : EinsteinPCS Internet
access poin name : apn (case sensitive)
Usename : (leave blank)
password: (leave blank)
domain : (leave blank)
...under advanced
User Servier assigned IP address
click ok..
under proxy settings check: this network connects to the internet
check this network uses a proxy server to connect to the internet
proxy server should be :192.168.254.251
click advanced
http: 192.168.254.251:8080
wap: 192.168.254.251:9201
secure wap: 192.168.254.251:9201
socks (blank)
For MMS... go into MMS Options... goto servers.. set these settings :
Server Name : Einstein Wireless MMS
Gateway : 192.168.254.251
Port # : 9201
Server Address : httP//www.einsteinmms.com\+1(your 10 digit # here)
Connect via : EinsteinPCS Internet
Seriously guys? Just phone the carrier and ask for the settings - they'll either tell you, or send them as a network message (or both). The auto-config just makes life easier the the majority of people, its not essential.
