Problem with headset socket --- HELP NEED - JAMin, XDA Neo, S200 Software Upgrading

Hello guys !
I have a problem with my Spv m600 . Problem is about headset socket. Sometime after I disconnect earphones plug (not all the time - strange) there is no switch to pda speaker. When I plug-in earphones, - sound is in there. After a while of struggling it switch back . I don’t now what to do . I try deferent’s rom but the problem still exists. Strange thing with it is that not always plugin earphones do this sound crash.
When I bought this pda I didn’t have this problem Is this possible that changing of Radio IPL SPL could cause it ?
IPL : 2.20.0001
SPL: 2.64.4PDA
GSM: 02.30.21
OS: 7.0.0.7
About Radio rom I don’t know how to check but it was changed on 100% .

It's a hardware problem.
Try reinserting the headset a few times when you unplug it...

Yes I do this every time.
When I ride a bike and listen music and after a while unplug headphones ... sound is still swith to headset ---> perhaps I wont to make a call and boooom (frustration) .
Now I take the head phones in pda and out and it's ok . if its hardware problem I need to get in to this socket and look closer what is going on ?

The issue is caused by the fact that the headphone socket ages, and the spring back of the switch used to detect the headphone insertion is weaker and tends not to work, so the headphones are detected as being in when they're not...

Thanks for Your feedback .... could I somehow replace it ? (socket)

I'd guess so, although it may need soldering...

Hi. I have the same problem and have tried to repair the internals of the socket but still no joy. Anyone any recommendation of where to purchase a replacement / experience of fitting ? Thanks

i use a pin
i take a pin to reactivate the speaker - so bad - a good phone and so bad interface - is there anybody to change the interface or have an manual to fix it ?

MDA2 Carkit is silent after upgrading ROM

Hi,
I've got a problem with my carkit (O2 XDA-Carkit) after I upgrade to the new ROM-Version of T-Mobile (1.60).
With the old Rom-Version, the carkit works as a loadspeaker for all kind of sound. The voice-instructions from tomtom for example, came out of the carkit-speaker loud and clearly. Each kind of sound, the device made, came out of the speaker of the carkit.
Now, after upgrading to the new ROM, only the telephone works with the speaker of the carkit. With Incoming or outgoing calls I can use the carkit as usual...the speaker works and the mikro works also. But every other sound (e.g. tomtom voice-instructions) came direktly out of the speaker of the mda2 in a poor quality.
Some hints, how I could use my carkit again as a speaker for all kind of sound without goinig back to the old ROM ?
Any other kind of hints...maybe to use a bluetooth headset therefor (so that all kind of sound came out of the headset....not only telephone...I've got a Plantronics Headset...but also only the telephone works)
thx for help
best regards
rob.
Yep.......I have the same problem here.......don't know why they changed settings on the handsfree profile here.
Another thing you will find out is that the charging is very slow on the XDA carkit with the XDA II. If you run TomTom, Yeti and a bright screen the xda II will not charge, but drain!!
It has something to do with the wiring of the interface, but unless someone will come up with a solution I will go for a new carkit or a BT solution. (It's a bloody shame though it doesn't work properly with the XDA carkit! )
Hi,
the charging-problem is also a mess.
I think, the problem is only the GPS-driver from tomtom. In my tests, only when the GPS-driver is loaded, the battery-power goes down. With stopping the GPS-driver, the battery will charge again, but only, if the battery-power is more than about 75 - 80%.
If the battery is less than 75%, it will not charge at all, even if, there is no App runnung and the screen is off.
You said, you will go for a new carkit or bluetooth-solution. Do you know a carkit or bluetooth-solution, wich offers the feature, that all sounds (tomtom instuctions...etc.) came out of a loadspeaker or thru a headset (without connecting the wired headphone ;-)
As far as I know, at the moment all devices works only with the telephone-funktion....
best regards
rob.
Same here,
i have build my own carkit, and have put ground to pin 19,
sound was normally going though the connector to my car stereo
now it doenst anymore
I am sure this isnt a hardware thing it is software
could be the settings on the handsfree profile. on the xda2...
this is very very frustrating. just being finished with my carkit and now i cant use it anymore
also you cant set the phone to speakermode anymore..

Does anybody know how to change this back?
I found that the registry points to a certain file in your windows directory: HandsFree_Dll.dll
(I found this here: HKLM\Services\Handsfree)
Can someone with the old 1.03 ROM please upload this file so i can try if this solves the problem...
TIA,
Max
Akira, Max :
I am building my own car kit, and have no success.
I do not obtain audio out with or without grounding pin 19.
I'm running Rom 1.60.00WWE.
Did you solve your problem ??
I must correct my last update.
I obtain audio when in phone mode, but not during playing waves or TomTom directions. Even Ring Tones do not go out trough the bottom connector.
So is it a software problem ?
Can it be corrected ?

Another XDA 2 dead

Hi
I have installed XDAIIs version of Win2005 on my XDAII and it worked ok for few days untill I tried to configure bluetooth for GPS usage. Then my speaker and mic went dead and do not work any more. I can still use phone via stereo headset or bluetooth, but internal speaker and mic stay dead even after I had installed correct version od win 2005.
I used to have:
R 1.08.00
G 1337.18
D 1.66 00WWE and now I have:
R 1.18.00
G 1337.38
D 3.00a.64LOC
Please can anyone help me to restore the mic & speaker on my Himalaya.

I have tried to downgrade again from my SD card but somehow it still can not get back to my previous system. It changes back R to 1.08.00 and
G 1337.18 but D remains as 3.00a.64LOC. As a consequence it does not boot up as win2003. I amy need another OS file for win 2003 but in all the references I can only see new NK nad radio files.

Hi Boril
You may have the valid point and I will have to check it, but if the port was damaged would it still worked with bluetooth. My ringer does not work now either under wired hands-free, but it works under bluetooth. Any further suggestions would be welcome. Thanks for your help Boril.

Speaker And Mic Problem after Upgrading to WM6

Hi all, i have a problem after upgrade my SPV C600 from WM5 to WM6.
after finish the upgrading, i could play my windows media player and could make a phone call without any problem.
after a while after i plug in my earpice to listen music, it went good as well.
after plug it off (earpiece not attached), when i play windows media player, i cant hear anything and i try to make a phone call also the same, no sounds came out from speaker and from loudspeaker as well. but when i plug in the earpice everything goes smoothly, meaning that i can listen music and communicate with others when make a phone call.
before that i tried to ensure whether i face the software or hardware problem by setting the ringtone (start->setting->sound). but the sound could come out from the speaker.
after that i guess that the speaker (hardware) has no problem.
as to play windows media player and setting ringtone are using the same speaker.
can anyone tell me whats happening with my phone?
i believe that it is software related problem.
thanks in advance
my advise is to reboot your phone at me this works...

i have tried to reboot and hard reset as well
but i can only listen music and make a phone call when i use my earpice
Please state which ROM you are using, we recommend Andot's PEE
I too have this exact problem any solution other than hard reset - dont need the pain of downloading resinstalling all my stuff - especially if its going to happen again.

Tornado mic and speaker for phone not working
It rings and plays sounds but it appears that the hardware microswitch that sets it to wired-headset mode is stuck. I cannot set it back. Also: it switched into this mode when I rebooted (soft). I did not add or remove a 2.5mm jack. Is there a registry setting to override the microswitch sensor and keep it out of headset mode?
Hi, this is my first post and hope helpfull everybody, possibly i was the same problem over ALL ROM (wm6 & wm6.1), searching for any solution (my specific trouble was that if i wanna listen music over any player: ( a.k.a windows media, pocket player, etc), i dont had a normal sound from the speaker, the sound was distorsioned, low... horrible, the only solution was insert the plug from the headset and out , but, power off the phone and... again, sucks really ), i return to a Wm5 Rom (imate) and solve the problem, but, tired for the slow performance of WM5, search for other rom, sacrify the music listen ( but i have a good mp3 player...), and, the same problem.
I found in the web (no remember the page) that the SRS plug-in anytimes cause troubles with the sound output, i try to install any ROM WITHOUT this complement, the ROM from Rickywatt Tornado Neo/shadow no have this plugin, install and ...Eureka, no more the issue, follow my instint, i install the SRS plug in, reboot and... the fuc%$& problem, hard reset and the phone witout the problem... conclusion, the SRS was the monster.
You can try this "method", most of rom carry or include from the "kitchen" this SRS dll, but installing the rom from Rickywatt (fast, clean... beautiful, only without the spanish lang, but, nothing is perfect...), can solve the issue, for me ,cors, i dont know for you (my phone is a HTC sda).
For the mic, really i dont have idea , any bad registry, entry, etc :-(, i never have this issue, good luck...
Greetings from colombia (sorry for my poor English)

That's not controlled by software. Try plugging and unplugging a headset several times, twisting it around to clean the contacts. It should clean and close contact for built in speaker to work again. Think of a circuit. If its closed, you have built in speaker. If it opens and you have a headset pluged in, then audio flows thru the headset. It won't go back to speaker until that circuit is closed again. Its mecanical, not software, so you can't do anything with registry.

the same for me
well
the only fix i got was to disasemble and remove the swithch leaving its contacts as exposed as possible, the soldered a wire between 2 of the 3 connectors, hey presto all working, headset hole then filled with glue from glue gun
very rough but it worked....
as an after thought though see if youve updated your radio software, stranger things have happened if youve been into flashing with 3rd party roms

Keep the speaker on while headset is connected

Hello,
I would like the polaris to ring on the speaker even if the headset is connected.
I prefer using the headset to talk but if it remains connected the phone doesn't ring when an incoming call arrives, or it rings into the headset...
Is there a way to separate the ring and the windows application speaker ?
On all cell phone it is a basic feature. On a previous sony-ericsson, it even manages differents profiles when the headset was or not connected.
Regards,
Arthu'
dont recall ever seen a htc phone supporting it
on the otherhand i've seen plenty of issues with the old connector getting
stuck blocking any non headset speaker sounds untill the user got he connector fixed :S

Witch ROM have you on your Polaris (French) ?
I've installed the latest rom from Bepe (see my signature for info) and I haven't this problem. Unfortunately I haven't tested this situation with my original French ROM.
I remember to have the exact same problem with my P3600 by the past. Never know how to fix it.

It's french ROM effectivly :
ROM : 1.25.406.1 FRE 12/12/07
RAD : 1.58.21.23
PRO : 25.65.30.04H
I have read yesterday night the long post on the MP3 volume level in headset and seen that you have flashed your ROM.
I don't want to do that. Maybe the solution is in one of those configuration files. Unfortunately, I have also understood that we can't count on HTC to solve such issue. They have put all their cleverness into the production and the marketing, so, now, they are lacking of for the maintainance.
I wonder if they use their product... in this case, they couldn't ignore that it is really perfectible. I'm looking for a telephone, plus PDA functionnality, not a PDA plus telephon functionnality. And the Cruise is more in the second category, so I'm some little desappointed with the device. We will see if I keep it only for PDA and GPS...

Strange Bluetooth issue

Hi you all, I have a non common bluetooth problem. My S6 is running Xtrestolite with android 6.0. My phone can connect BT to my cars, my earset and my soundbar to play music and it work well even on my earset. BUT, nothing for voice call, the call connect and silence for everyone. There is no voice at all, but BT is connected, and all infos on my cars radio like timer, mute and others work well ( okay mute cannot be more muted ). So I tried 1/8 headset for music it works, did not try yet one with a mic, but I'll do it ASAP. I tried to reprogram with odin default OS, with factory settings, and that way force all components to be re-write ( Bootloader, Radio , etc ), issue still present !!! Try to clean micro usb connector, nothing !! Try to clean audio jack, but wasn't really sure if it was well cleaned.
Do anybody here have an idea of what I could try, test or do to eliminates possibilities ??
I am thinking that maybe some corosion could be in the audiojack, somewhere and let the phone think that there is an audio jack connected, and then sent the voice to it...but how it could be tested before to try to open the phone to clean it properly and risk to damaged the LCD ???
Thank a lot for all of your advices
