How do I lock the screen and keys? - Touch Cruise General

I really hoped I would be out of unlocking problems with my new Touch Cruise. But no! And I cannot find any usefull help. So I turn to this site for help.
Even when I soft-lock the Cruise and after that push the power button, it will automatically unlock by calls, received messages and agenda reminders.
Since I use the agenda very frequently, it unlocks and then drops the agenda item that he was reminding me of. Or it opens the agenda after an unnoticed received call, since the agenda button is at the left bottom of the screen and drops an upcoming item.
Recently I looked at my phone and it opened a picture by itself.
When I lock the device, I want it to stay locked until I tell it to unlock.
I found S2U2, but only 0.98 for WM5. Can anybody help me to solve this disturbing problem?
Okay, after I found out that S2U2 WM5 does work on WM6 and I found out how to unzip the rar files (I used 7-zip), I was able to install S2U2 on my Polaris. And it seems to work (at least with agenda items).

You can also try pocket secure, a very useful application
http://www.totalpocketpc.com/ps5web/index.html

is here any developer or someone who is able to create a programm that just unlocks the xda when i push the button. s2u2 is nice but it starts problems though.
(my music is disturbed by that as long as it is switched on)
my phone is allowed to make sounds, but not to unlock when i get a call or a reminder.
who ever solves this problem is supposed to be one of the greatest

if I have not understood badly, you can resolve your problem planning a device password.
(in my italian Touch Cruise: >Impostazioni>Blocca
in English I believe:
>Setting>lock
and set time to sleep and password.
When the device is locked if you receive a call you can only to answer and if you do not introduce your password you cannot do anything.
Try, I use so my Touch Cruise

nice idea , tough i think this is unhandy...
this is what i imagine:
the button on the top right corner at the orbit2 makes the screen light up and unlocks all buttons.
and sometimes (a phone call, a reminder) the screen lights up and unlocks the buttons too. i don't like that (starts other programms and so on). i just want the phone to "screen lights up and unlocks the buttons" when i push the button on the top right corner. (the phone is still allowed to make sounds ^^)
i bet you know what i mean. (s2u2 is ok, but not perfect.)
or how can i contact the people developping the software for the phone to ask them?
thank you
PS: yeah, i want what jan wants too ^^

Two little issues with locking and backlight

Hi Guys,
There are a couple of things I've not been able to get working in the way I'm used to on my Artemis, just wondered if anyone can help....
1) The require password when device is not used for x minutes, when set to 0 minutes on my Artemis, would only ask me for the password if it was coming out of standby... I'm trying to get the Polaris to behave in the same way. The gotcha with this is that having edited the settings on the Artemis, it doesn't behave like this anymore
What's actually happening is that when set at 0 minutes the device locks right away. I've now set it to 1 hour but now when coming out of standby I don't have to put the password in unless I leave it for an hour... Which is what it sounds like it should do, but not what I want, or what it WAS doing!
2) My backlight doesn't come on until I have fully unlocked the device... So I can't see the keypad or unlock button in daylight. My Artemis doesn't do this, the backlight comes straight on.
Any ideas are welcome
Thanks
LP
Wouldn't mind knowing about a reg tweak for the backlight/lock issue myself...
Screenlock? and backgrond light
I'v managed to get a screenlock function to work really nice. The Polaris is now always locked on start, exept for Answer/Reject soft and hardware buttons, plus that I can shut down the ringing with the volume button. Really nice.
The program that does it is Autolock. You find it att http://www.intelliott.com
The backlight problem was solved via a register hack found on this site.
At
\HKCU\ControlPanle\Backlight\LockLevel
Rename the folder to LockLevelX.
Does work even if the handset is soft resetted.
Thanks peta§,
That reg hack works pretty well
Any chance of a little more detail on the registry tweak. The backlight issue is really starting to annoy me.
Thanks
I followed the instruction in this link. It was quite easy:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=351709
peta§,do u know any registry tweak in order to disable key lock permanently?
Cheers Peta,
Worked a treat however, I don't understand why this was not done at the manufacturing stage unless it was purely an oversight.
Thanks
I agree MusicArtist, it should be activated in WM6 from the start. It's very interesting what can happen when you take your phone out of the pocket when a reminder calls for your attention, or a SMS or call is incoming and you by mistake presses some functions on the activated screen.
dene3erw, disabling key lock permanently? I don't follow. Do you mean the Autolock?
If so, ýou can find an icon in the Program folder, just to tap on it. It enables/disables the function.

Lol, my ear once accepted another incoming call from this girl that I was avoiding for ages... and I didn't even realise I was talking to her, thought it was my other mate.

Ouch!
If i'm not wrong, S2U2 can turn display off during a call. Great software!
I've tried two progs more: PhoneScreenLock and InesoftAddressBook.
Inesoft provide many features including display switch off during a call.
Phonescreenlock keep the display on showing info about the call, locking the screen.. but with long conversation you may frie your ear
Bye
KK
Any updates on this one please? I have the same problem with running gazillion apps on my Polaris with my ear in call as benjb did.
Tried PhoneScreenLock - did not work well for me because its buggy (the lock screen pretty often appears somewhere BELOW the in-call buttons or start menu and needs to be switched to via closing in-call screen, which obviously renders it useless).
The InesoftAddressBook is not an option either, cause I already have other address book app and would like to stick with it (BTW my current address book has "slide-to-pick-up-call" feature, which makes me afraid that it would conflict with S2U2).
Sadly the Polaris doesn't have motion or light sensor... It would make my life sooooo easier with ZuinigeRijder's TouchLockPro...
So any ideas on what else I could use please? Thanks!
two things...
1) Are you aware that after you answer/make a call but before you put the phone up to your ear you can press the power button (not press & hold, just press & release) which will turn off the display, but not disconnect your call (or, turn off your phone)? No stray on-screen button pushing this way! With the screen off the "end call/hang up" button still functions and when you press it the screen will come back on immediately. If you need to access your address book or make a note etc during a call, press & release the power button and it will turn the screen back on and not effect your call in any way. If your phone is set up like mine and it returns to the home screen each time the screen is turned on, then simply press the green phone button and the dialer comes back to the top.
2) If #1 doesn't do it for you and you need software to accomplish this, then search this forum for MissedCallReminder (just like that - no spaces). Besides having an option to "lock screen on connect" it has a very handy feature (the main feature actually, as the name indicates) of being able to set up repeat reminders for missed calls and missed sms messages. Very handy. It can be setup to run automatically at startup so you don't have to remember to start it up manually. It also automatically unlocks the screen when you end your call.
Turned out I had bookmarked the app, so here's a link:

Wakeup display just to show the time when pressing a button

Hi all,
Sorry for the cross-post, but I just realized that this is probably the best forum for my question..
I normally don't carry a watch, so I look at my TC to get the time. I would like this funtionality mapped to one of the hardware buttons:
Wakeup the display and show a big clock for a second or two, then turn off the display again. (Preferably, the device should still be locked throughout this.)
Is there any similar software?
Thank's in advance!
Edit/Delete Message
hi
i have an x7500 and i use the app called slide 2 unlock. that's the iphone program developed for ppcs. what happens is when i press the power button, the screen comes alive and the 2 most prominent features on the screen are the time (large display) and the slide to unlock the device. i then press the power button again or i leave it to power down on it's own. the same thing happens when a call comes through. i have a bt headset and the screen comes alive. but no app can be launched because the slide 2 unlock button will in fact lock the screen. the only way to unlock it is by unlocking it using the slider.
other's in the forum could have other apps as well. but so far that works for me.
just my 2 cents
Thank you very much, Robson!
Based on your description, I'll keep looking for something that will not interfere when a call comes. Thank's anyway, though!
Anyone else with any ideas?

You can disable the phone options in S2U2 if you want
Thank's, DocteurN! That's pretty close, except if set to 5secs it will turn off the phone after five all the time, not just when Ive pressed the power-button to get the time. Nearly there..
SPB Mobile Shell does this with its now screen. OR SPB Time can do it with its screensaver !
Both must haves anyway imho !
Dave
Thank you dmj1973! I'm trying with the SPB apps now.
The SPB apps are great but there is no keylock, as far as I can see..?
Basically, from sleep mode, I just want to push a button to see the today screen or at least the time for a second or two, without unlocking the device.
Which is exactly what I do with S2U2 - I press the power button, glance at the time, then hit it again... Perfect!

Help: Touch Pro answers calls in pocket!

Hi!
I have a major problem with Pro. Had it for week and already I have missed many calls. Well, technically I've answered them :-(
The problem is that when a call comes in, the touch screen activates and if the phone is in pocket, it will very likely answer the call. It has done this many times and it does it so fast that the vibrating alarm doesn't even vibrate once. So I have no idea that somebody is listening to me in my pocket!
No, the button lock, doesn't seem to help here. Try it. Even with button lock on, you can answer the incoming calls with touch screen.
So what to do? I am really lost with this. Do I need to power off the phone completely when I'm on the road and only power it on when it's on the table? Yes, that works... and yes, it would be ridiculous.
One solution could be that when an incoming call is coming, one would need to enable the touch screen by pressing one of the hardware keys. And the call could be answered with the hardware keys also. After all, they do not press down easily in the pocket. But there is no way to set the phone this way AFAIK.
So, please guys help! (Google didn't help although Diamond users must have the same problem.)
I have the same problem!!! Didn't figured out a way to solve it by my own. It's realy annoying, especially if you do not want to answer at all to the person that is calling.
please, did anyone find a solution to this issue?
someone tried this and seem to work.

Think a little app is required that blocks off touch screen as incoming call arrives.
Same problem on the Diamond :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=414731
I have tested the technique exposed by Carloshdez with CSDEVCTRL 3.28 and it works on the TP:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2590105&postcount=188
I Followed his configuration, but entered "0" at the top for "Lock if Idle for Sec"
When the phone rings, CSDEVCTRL deactivate the screen but keep the hard keys activated.
Very complicated solutions it seems... I do not like to replace the dialler for instance. Hmmm.
Any solution where it would be possible to "open" the touch screen before doing anything to the call. I mean, it needs to behave so that
- the screen activates and you can see who is calling
- the touch screen is inactivate so that you do not accidentally answer it
- you can "open" the touch screen to
* answer
* hang-up
* mute
* i.e. all things that are now possible
This is because the hardware buttons do not give you all options, like mute and send text.
Hate to say, but iPhone style (or should I rather say Androind style) "slide to unlock" might be it as it's not that probably thing to happen in pocket. Are there such programs? And what do they do otherwise (that I probably do not want )?
With the solution I exposed, the screen is turned on but locked when a call comes in.
When you hangup with the hard key, everything (including mute, etc) is unlocked so you can use your TP as you were before.
Or you can use S2U2. With it, you have a "Slide to unlock" and "Slide to answer" Iphone's style button.
What happens if the other party was the one to end the call (you did not end the call by pressing the end key), will it still unlock the screen or what?

You didn't get the mute part... I frequently want to mute the ringing WITHOUT answering or hanging up the call. Excellent feature BTW! Usually just to walk away from the current situation to quiet place to answer the call. Yes, I know I can do that with turning the phone upside down also, but there is also the text message option that I'm learning to use also.
I guess I need to try S2U2 then.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=422871
try this over S2U2!
Hm... turning my phone around before I can answer a call seems to me a little silly.
A simpel application would be more usefull.

If the other party ends the call, the phone unlock. Actually it is only lock during "ringing"

I agree! Seems like an excellent idea, but the turning part seems complicated (risc dropping the phone, use 2 hands...?). I rather have something that can be done just by thumb of one hand.
(No, haven't had the possibility to try either one yet.)
The whole sensor thing is turning into a carnival, hopefully some real useful apps will be made using it.

I would apreciate a application that locks the phones touch screen while it rings and unlocks it after you answer (so that you can use it during the call).
Can't make this application, i'm not that smart, but maybe someone els can?
LE: I think this thread should be made "Sticky" until we find a solution, because we have here a real issue!!!
I am going to attempt to DEV an app like that, but I am sure one of the Senior's could dev this much quicker
I know it sounds like a silly solution and I agree that this is a serious design bug but a simple way to avoid this problem is to keep the phone in its pouch....

And that is how I've also answered and ended a call before I've slid the phone out of the pouch since the pouch is quite tight and activates the screen...
Need some other option on screen, like S2U, to 'unlock' the normal phone app' touch options first.

It IS in his Pouch, and both in my pocket, but it answers itself the calls!!!!
The app should use the side bottons to MUTE the call.

Screen- and Button lock

I tryed the sensor lock and I was at first impressed with it but as soon as I had to soft reset the Pro, Sensorlock starting to vibrate alot!
I couldn't unlock the phone at all, not even enter my pin. The only way I could get in to my phone was by putting in the USB cabel, and uninstall the sensorlock. So I won't try that again. Stylus lock looks neat but having to remove the stylus from the phone just to be able to answer a call aint what I'm looking for.
I'm hoping that someone here can rip out the locking function from the Kaiser and make it useable on the Pro. That program was really good and simple.
hope someone can help me find what I want.
you should read the readme or use the search engine in this forum. i guess some devices are just not compatible at this time with the vibrate function. wating for 0.3, it should be fixed.

Yeah I had the same problem!
My touch pro was spaaacing. He was vibrating the whole time....
So the uninstall was very quick with this one
oh seems 0.3.1 is out, bug is gone for me.
for your information ahorn I did use the search function and I did read the readme file..
But sensorlock wasn't my question... I was mearly wondering if someone could make the screen/button lock from kaiser to work in the Raphael... since I had problems with the other.
I had SensorLock installed since yesterday and had no problem at all. In fact I am liking it over another product. Maybe you need change your settings.
My only qualms is that it does not have a unique gesture.
I still got problems with sensorlock, so I'm not gonna use that.
I would like a more simple locking program like the one on Kaiser. Easy and fully functional.
Phone Lock
Sensor Lock would be great for me if I shouldn’t have to rotate the phone like a weird maniac pretending a magician or something - looks extremely funny when it doesn’t unlock and you’re in a meeting with business partners. Like I’m really desperate to impress the party this way …
Would be lovely if instead of rotating the thing we could use a sequence combination of pressing hard buttons. Like “Power, + Back” toggling “Lock Everything”, though this diminishes its name “SensorLock”, I would be gratefully thankful if this option would be kindly implemented by the developer.
i use vjdevice lock and remaped it to the left soft key, works great, one touch screen lock and power off. Big thanks to Vjay555 for this one.
http://www.vijay555.com/?Releases:VJDeviceLock
Security lock from the Tornado smartphone is another good one. I hope someone will be able to rip it off for the TouchPro.
If you are looking to disable the on-screen answer keys only, the answerkeys disabler works perfectly for me...
