Very Slow Boot up and what's a good Backup Software? - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario ROM Development

Hi,
I have a problem, when i have to enter the simcode. Bevor i could do this, I have to wait about 5 minutes until the display reacts. After i'm able to enter the simcode, i have to wait about 5 minutes again to see the home screen. after that, everything is normal.
I have the newest TNT Rom on my phone.
What could be the Problem?
Is there a good backup software, which can backup my Programms, which i have installed, messages, contacts... best would be, if it backups every day automatically. I would pay something, if there isn't something for free!
Thanks!

Sprite backup

check it out
http://www.spritesoftware.com/comparison-sprite-spb-page1

i say, flash a new rom... also gives you something new to try
anyways, PIM backup, or SPB Backup - i use both and can't fault em

Its corruption of Extended_Rom or if you are using any Sdcard or MiniSd,it needs formatting.
Backup your data with either of the above applications and either try out a Hard Reset otherwise reflash the rom.

i have tested the backup softwares and i think, i'll buy the sprite backup software.
and i've tested a lot of roms... i tested the snn versions, the simple version, cooked own roms, but now, i used my phone for tasks and so on and not only for testing new roms, which are faster, so i thought, somebody would know something to fix the problem so i don't have to install everything again.
but... tooo late^^ i did a hard-reset
and thanks for the help!

Deleting personal info in WM 2003

Hi Guys,
I need some help with my magician. I am going to sell it and therefore want to get my personal data out. I had already performed a hard reset, however all my data got restored by accident through activesync. I am looking for a way without having to hard reset and the hassle of installing all the apps again.
Any help would be great.
Generally you can rename the pim.vol file in your root directory, eg pim.crap, then delete pim.crap, then soft reset.
I think!
V
I tried looking for the file pim.vol but it wasn't in my root folder. The "see all files" option was turned on. Also a search on the device yielded no results.
I googled a bit and found out that pim.vol is used in WM5? My version is WM 2003 so do you or anyone else know where to find the pim file and how it's named?
Good point, I wasn't thinking with my 2003 head.

I can't recall an easy way on 2003 now, it's been a long time. If you have access to SKTools etc, you can delete the PIM databases I guess.
For contacts can't you select all and delete?
Frankly, in my current state of amnesia, I would use Sprite Backup or similar, backup my device, hard reset, then do a selective restore of everything EXCEPT Pim data. That'll revert you to a fresh, configured system with no PIM stuff.
Apologies for my BSE.

Sorry, noob question.

If I flash Hard-SPL, will I lose everything else on the phone, like do I have to reconfigure/reinstall everything I currently have on it? I read both of the Hard-SPL threads and instructions, it mentioned something about being the same as a hard reset, this is the part I'm still confused about. I want Hard-SPL only to try other radios, not ROMs.
Thanks.
Yes, you will lose everything on your device except for your internal storage (4GB) side of things. So be sure to save all your contacts/calender info. using either your pc (MS Outlook) or backup program.
Thanks again, band27. Now things are cleared up!

I think I will wait for the next official ROM update or when something else goes wrong before doing the Hard-SPL, because right now I've a lot of programs and tweaks installed, the radio thing I can wait a bit.
you can use SPB Backup or Sprite Backup to create a full backup of your device. since radio is not considered as data, you would be able to restore that backup afterwards with all tweaks and apps and pim

Thanks for the suggestions, that's a good idea actually, even if I don't flash Hard-SPL.

Fuze randomly reinstalling Windows Mobile?

Alright, after updating to RRE V8 RC1, I've been having instability with my Windows Mobile OS. The phone would randomly crash for no apparent reason. When I would restart the phone, I would get the Windows Mobile Install prompt. I resorted to reverting back to RRE V2.1 which was the ROMs previous version I was operating on before performing the update. Sometimes after turning the phone off, I would get an error message complaining about my settings being corrupt. I have flashed to various versions of RRE and other Windows Mobile ROMs. Please, can anyone help? I don't believe the ROM is at fault. It sounds more like an issue with my internal storage. Any way I could possibly remedy the situation? The phone is only 2 months old .

I can't seem to access my phone to fetch my PIM Backup data either. >_<
You need to flash the stock 6.1 ROM first, then flash the WM6.5 ROM you want (RRE v8 or any other one).
I've had this problem with a CDMA Diamond and my Fuze. It doesn't happen every time, but when it does, the only way to fix it is by installing the stock ROM first.

Backup Custom ROM?

Is it possible to do a full backup on a custom ROM with the Sprint HTC Arrive? I know I can backup my stock ROM just fine, but all the backup software say it won't work on custom ROMS, so I wanted to know if there is a way to backup a custom ROM in case I want to try a different ROM and if I don't like it go back, flash the first custom ROM, and restore everything the way I had it before. I understand I cannot restore between different ROMS.
If backup is not possible, what is the best way to go between Stock to Custom, then between different custom ROMS without reloading every bit of data?
Hmmm, I think You have to try Cab Sender: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1248799 and use B - option (B-ackup). May be works on customROM.

??????????
You can try and write here about that.
I saw the maybe, but I don't want to try it and have it mess something up with my phone and have to hard reset or anything. I have used the software before its the same one I used to backup my phone when I was on stock ROM.
Try this...
This backs up ENTIRE rom ... Give it a try... Worked for me but mileage may vary ... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1379571

to be sure, take all!
Enable compression.
Backup everything.
Then move outside the phone.

then to restore just select this zip right? i will back up in usb
To restore, you can choose each, which partition you want to restore. Be careful with efs: these are device specific Data (Imei and other), do NOT (!!!) restore them on a different device, even if it is excactly the same model... restore efs only on the device where it came from... something like passeport for the individual device.. I have NEVER(!) restored efs partitition, if this is not nessesary, and that is very seldomly the case: I always backup this partition, but i never restore it! Be carefull and think before you do any action! ;-)
