Backup Custom ROM? - HTC 7 Pro

Is it possible to do a full backup on a custom ROM with the Sprint HTC Arrive? I know I can backup my stock ROM just fine, but all the backup software say it won't work on custom ROMS, so I wanted to know if there is a way to backup a custom ROM in case I want to try a different ROM and if I don't like it go back, flash the first custom ROM, and restore everything the way I had it before. I understand I cannot restore between different ROMS.
If backup is not possible, what is the best way to go between Stock to Custom, then between different custom ROMS without reloading every bit of data?

Hmmm, I think You have to try Cab Sender: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1248799 and use B - option (B-ackup). May be works on customROM.

Would this work on the DFT Custom ROM?

You can try and write here about that.

I saw the maybe, but I don't want to try it and have it mess something up with my phone and have to hard reset or anything. I have used the software before its the same one I used to backup my phone when I was on stock ROM.

Try this...
This backs up ENTIRE rom ... Give it a try... Worked for me but mileage may vary ... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1379571

can i use this method with a omnia w that have a original stock rom (7740) and after load this rom on other omnia w ??

Sorry, noob question.

If I flash Hard-SPL, will I lose everything else on the phone, like do I have to reconfigure/reinstall everything I currently have on it? I read both of the Hard-SPL threads and instructions, it mentioned something about being the same as a hard reset, this is the part I'm still confused about. I want Hard-SPL only to try other radios, not ROMs.
Thanks.
Yes, you will lose everything on your device except for your internal storage (4GB) side of things. So be sure to save all your contacts/calender info. using either your pc (MS Outlook) or backup program.
Thanks again, band27. Now things are cleared up!

I think I will wait for the next official ROM update or when something else goes wrong before doing the Hard-SPL, because right now I've a lot of programs and tweaks installed, the radio thing I can wait a bit.
you can use SPB Backup or Sprite Backup to create a full backup of your device. since radio is not considered as data, you would be able to restore that backup afterwards with all tweaks and apps and pim

Thanks for the suggestions, that's a good idea actually, even if I don't flash Hard-SPL.

ROM Manager for Android now supports EVO

i just got an update that it now supports the evo.. but when i click on download roms i get a msg that says "there are no ROMs available for your phone yet! ask your favorite developers to get listed on ROM Manager for free!" dont know the process for making that happen but apparently this programs been around for a while and ppl have used it with other custom roms.. just sharing the info cause if the devs got on board this can make things nice and easy!
also, if you click on "Reboot into Recovery" it takes you right to ClockworkMod Recovery v1.8.1.7 without the need of a pc or button combinations... AWESOME!!!
About ROM Manager:

sorry but it seems there already another thread regarding ROM Manager

okay so i found the info for developers ROMs to get listed in ROM Manager.. just click here
Some screenshots of what is possible... screenshots taken on N1 and Droid.
Full ROM lists in app, OTA update, customizers, backups, etc, all through a nice Android UI. You basically never have to actually go into recovery It's been around for 3-4 months now, and is a must have app for any rooted phone!

[Q] [q] please help me

Fellas, can I please get some help
I have been trying to install the 4.0.4 on my rooted and unlocked boot loader on my samsung galaxy nexus. Mainly because I want to see if the volume and signal are better. I have clockwork Mod Touch installed version 5.8.0.2 and also downloaded the tool kit by:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1400871
My drivers on my CPU correctly but I keep on getting this and it wont install anything. Ii did not want to install a new ROM but after so many errors I backed up my Stock 4.0.2 just to make sure and tried to load Gummy and that gave the same error. (I dont want the Gummy ROM) I just want the 4.0.4 here is a screen shot of the error message it is showing me. Guys, Thanks for your help in advance.

For one, it looks like the file isn't signed. Toggle signature verification off if you have the option (I don't know if CWM has the option, I don't use it).
There's something else that is going wrong, but I'm not quite sure what. Try reflashing the recovery. If that doesn't help, backup the SD card, format it, and try again.
So do u think I should delete clockwork mod apps and delete files from SD card then reinstall?

I got it now folks....thanks I now have a huge signal boost difference.

[Q] Flashing Packages in Recovery

I know how to install a custom Rom but for some reason last night whenever I tried to flash a new rom, I kept getting an error in recovery saying something like this
" E:/ "filename" could not find " or something like that
Then it said Installation aborted.
This happened every time whether it was a rom or a tweak package. Its not my SD card because I tried two different ones. Is it my phone or the clockwork recovery?
Go to www.4ext.net download, install (choose the touch version from within the app) and report.

If you can't then you may need to find a different way to flashing a new recovery to see if that works. The hack kit has the option to only flash a recovery.
You could also flash a ruu as last option.

Wait. Are you s-off or not?

SuperOneClick and MTKDroidTool
Hi,
1) Root your device using SuperOneClick (You will need Windows) (You will find many sites about it)
2) Search and use MTKDroidTool. It`s the only tool I find that can backup and restore these roms. Rom Manager, Titan backup, CWM doesn`t work on these phones.
