I have have problems listed below with new build roms :-
- Missplaced effect to screen taps i.e. press htc home tab instead effects plugin below like calender pops up, or when using the on screen keyboard it enders the letter below the one i select.
- When doing a finger 'flick' or 'drag' scrolling in for example programs menu, when i begin it on a program icon, which on older builds would be ok, in newer builds, it will begin to scroll but the program will also be activated.
- Also when scrolling on file explorer, if i hold my figer on screen while scrolling up, the hold menu (one that pop's up when you select and hold on a file) will pop up. This while its actually scrolling.
Notes
-I do perform hard resets after every flash even just radio flashing.
-I have performed several realignment of the screen.
-Tried all possible radios compatible with the roms.
-Tried reflashing oem rom then back to wanted roms.
-Tried redoing Hardspl.
Solution
Using Kaisertweak here attached change TouchFlo Sensitivity to Normal.
yet again no help yet new 'best rom' threads still get replies 'sigh' well whatever.
i have 1.65.20.29 but haven't had any problems that u decribe.
you *HAVE* to use a compatible ROM. You can't just toss it against any WM6 or even WM6.1 ROM. If the ROM wasn't intended to be used with a 1.65 radio, you WILL HAVE PROBLEMS.
What ROM are you using?

I am using the radio's specified for the roms all the new builds = 1.65.xx.xx right? unless its hybrid, in on NoThrills build .19202 that only works with 1.65.xx.xx roms as well as every other .19202+ unless some hybrids e.g. dutty's, and all of them as long as i use that build of radio gives me above problems. I do know my stuff on radio - rom compatibility

For the screen issue, try and re-align your screen. Start/settings/system/screen/align screen.

I guess its an isolated problem must be my device then like how when i removed a screen protector i put on the device on the day i got it speed it up. But i dunno how to tell the carrier i installed a different rom from that you give by default and its the one that shows my device is faulty.

I have done screen re-alignment its a problem that occurs from time to time sometimes more frequent than other times.

I've tried posting in rom threads of this problem and got nothing except that knowone else seemed to have the problem? if these are new radio for new build would any new official releace builds have such radios? and if so could i have a hardware problem? would i need to replace my device? i have an MDA Vario III is it that the builds are originally ATT.

Have you tried flashing the stock rom that your phone came with, and then flashing dutty's...doing a hard reset...etc? I have seen that get rid of a lot of just really random/weird glitches, which it seems is what you have.

I dont have said problem with dutty's roms since they are hybrid and so allowing me to use any radio problem isn't with the rom its radio just newer builds only work with the problem radios if i try a different radio with the roms buit to work only with the problem radios apart from camera and sound issues i don't have any problems with them, (any problems i mentioned above) thats why i say my problems are because of the radio.

I'm not entirely sure what you just said, but even on the hybrid only one version is compatible wiht the new radios. That's why there are 2 versions of each rom that he made of the V2 Hybrid. One for the 1.65.xx.xx radios and one for all the other radios, a cube, non-cube, and lite version for each radio.

Well i used the version that worked with the old radios but changed to a different one because of other issues.
My point was the radio the radios + new build or even old build = the problems for me.

I even hard reset after flashing just a splash screen (yes i Hard Reset)

Yes 150% sure + Camera and sound worked fine, its not just with dutty's roms it's with all new builds iv tried NoThrills, TNT professional and vanilla, Hyperdragon and the newer PDAVIET ones.
i had a problem
my cell was making a static sound with the 1.65 radio and I am using dutty's v2 with no cube. I think it's not compatible with the rom, i went back to polaris 1.58.21.23. It's the best rom for me, although i still get calls in which the calling party can hear me while i cannot hear them (maybe every 2 out of 10 calls i receive).
Any Help from the senior members?

On the new 'official' rom with a 1.65.xx.xx radio which flashes both rom and radio and to work i would have already carried out a hardspl so the problems aren't down to me HELP! and for the record problem only there with 1.65.xx.xx radios yes i am sure i have carried out tests and i only have the problem with these radios so don't patronize me plz.

hi i was reading the black diamond thread and people were saying that they had problems with droped calls and that when they would get new sms their phone would crash was this ever fixed? in 3.0 or was it just the 1.0 and 2.0?

hey. those comments are in reference to Blackdiamond 3.1. I got dropped calls with the ROM all the time and I couldn't end my calls ever, so I flashed another ROM. But i came back to this one and this time i tried the 2.19 radio rom with it and for the past week everything has been working fine. No dropped calls or any other problems. So just flash the 2.19 radio rom after you flash BlackDiamond. Hope that helps.

I've tested BD 3.1 and I can say it is one of the best ROM's around.
But i had my issues with it.
I got my voice on calls scrambled bad, people barely could hear me.
I changed a lot of RADIOS and no hope.
2.19.11 is very good but the signal meter didn't work on me with BD 3.1.
Now I'm on 2.47.11 and I'm using TNT's ROM as it is the base for BD either.
PSo some search for radio ROMs here around.

hey. i think he meant that TNT is the ROM that BlackDiamond (BD) is based off of. try the 2.19.11 radio rom and if that doesn't fix the call problems (even though it should) then i would agree with the other reply and go with TNT's rom, it's a good ROM as well.

i've tested all the roms in this forum. i i always go back to black diamont is the most stable of all. by the way if you could post a link for radio 3.0.8 just to tested. i use radio 2.61.11 without drop calls/sms......

in general speaking, you must have double registered the number (the same number registered twice) that's the only way that no name is shown on screen if you have registered. Please check if you have double records on your contacts or may be you caller id service is not activated call your service provider to check it up
scrolling with touchflow
scrolling downwards: scroll (slip softly) your finger from button to top without taking up your finger
scroll upwards: scroll your finger from top to button without taking up your finger.
stop scrolling: just click (tap) with your finger in the middle of screen once.
also try to use the top of your nail instead of your finger that will do better contact with the screen (of course if your nail is not sharpened - otherwhise you'll scratch your screen)

Ok guys ive run across this alot people downloading roms with radios that are designed to go with them and having trouble playing back video recorded on the device. I for one am having this problem i bought a new tilt 4-28-08
everything working fine, flashed duttys rom on 4-29-08, now this problem has arose. Now this thread is no way saying anything bad about Duttys rom i have had a tilt before and wore the thing out flashing his roms, he does awsome work this thread is to raise the question, has some thing been changed on the newer divices I know for a fact its not the rom and radio combination. I don't remember but on my old tilt i believe it had a 2 something meg on my new one its a 3 meg regardless somethings fishy.
I can't tell you if there is a difference in camera hardware or not, but I bought my Tilt about two weeks ago. First ROM I've flashed is Laurentius' V3 ROM, and I have not had any issues. It comes packaged with a radio. So far this ROM is superb, no issues to report from me, and much better of course than the stock ROM.

What has video playback got to do with the number of megapixels in the camera? And suntzu is right, the camera in the Tytn II/Tilt has always been 3mp (well, technically speaking 2.8, but who's counting!)
ive flashed three different roms the htc and the att versions of duttys april 29 rom and alexes att rom and had the same issue on all three roms on duttys i shouldn't have to change the radio because that is whats packaged with the rom why would he say it compatiable if its not, come on this is dutty, i don't think its the radio rom combination. any way i started this thread to get people with the same problem to respond and see if there really is a problem. ive taken all logical steps to correct this, redownloaded roms, changed radios, reflashed still no solution

Did you try it on the stock rom to determine if you just have a bad tilt? If you've tried multiple roms/radio's, it does indeed start pointing at the hardware but doesn't necessarily mean anything has changed. From a business standpoint it would not make any sense to just change the camera and keep the same model number....they'd add a letter or change it up a bit to identify which firmware was needed.

yes the stock rom worked fine the camera works fine its the way it stores it to the phone i just tried 1.58.21.3, 1.58.25.14, radio and the camera would not work at all which is the problem with the rom and radio combos with duttys rom the camera works its just the video playback is crazy

I'll go ahead and try flashing that ROM to see whether it affects the camera on my new tilt too.
I think it's already been confirmed, but I'll confirm it as well:
The older Stock AT&T ROM I downloaded from somewhere off this forum (file name RUU_Kaiser_CINGULAR_WWE_1.57 - Originaly Shipped AT&T ROM.exe) did not work in terms of fixing the video camera issue. On top of that, it listed my processor as 7200.
I flashed with the newer:
RUU_Kaiser_CINGULAR_WWE_1.62.502.0_radio_sign_22.45.88.07_1.27.14.09R2_Ship.exe
And the video camera works flawlessly as the day I got my tilt (which was about a month ago).
Seems a slight change in the phones has occurred to cause this issue in most of the cooked ROMS being put out right now. Hopefully someone will be able to pinpoint exactly what it is....
For now all we have to go on is the models with the 7201 processor. Anyone that mentions they have a newer tilt and has now problems, please double check the processor to make sure it lists 7201 and not 7200. That way we know whether or not checking the processor is a reliable method of predicting whether there will be a problem or not...

I tried Laurentius' V3 ROM just now. I still get the issue, although, when I go to the video album the thumbnail isn't the usual sold green image for the video. It's got big red dots patterned across it. Also, watching the video, I can discern some bright objects amongst the garbled colorful pixels. That's about it. This rom seemed considerably slower than Dutty's latest one. I guess I'll sacrifice the video camera until someone figures this issue out

same here im flashing back to duttys its perfect except that one issue you said you have the 7201 processor right
Hi Guys, took the plunge and installed the HTC wm6.1 update on my 3month old UK Orange Branded Tytn.
TBH it was ok before - but i just wanted to see if it would be any quicker and fancied the threaded SMS as i used it on my n95 and it was easier to keep track of conversations. First problem was it would not run HardSPL and i got the white screen problem that i cured by following these instructions..

I have been now able to install the new rom okay, BUT it is as slow as hell (I thought the orange firmware was bad lol) seems to be ok then it just jams - sometimes for a good few seconds. bit of a pain. The keyboard Touch screen and any buttons dont do anything, sometimes for up to 30s, then it all catches up with all the buttons iv pressed during the freeze ect being actioned, a nightmare.
I tried one of Duttys ROMS (Must say im very impressed with his work!!!) BUT Same problem as before the thing just freezes for a few seconds (doesnt crash - just freezes) its a pain trying to browse or send tst messages.
Have I done anything wrong in the upgrade, or is it "Orange care time"?

I just ran the JumpSPL program then ran the rom exe file(S) The thing is fine, just as slow as hell - having to resort to my old n95 now ;-(
I didnt do a hard reset after i updated the rom, just activsync`d it and set it up
do a hard reset it should improve your rom spead. Some times when you flash a new rom and don't do hard reset files of the old rom are still on device and cause conflicts with the new rom that is why a hard reset is almost highly recommended after a rom flash.
Don't forget to back up your contacts,messages,documents on device as a hard reset will erase everything except spl, os, rom, radio.

I'm on Orange (UK) and mine is much faster than the stock ROM now.
Do you have any other software running on it ? SPB Mobile Shell sometimes slows things down ...

Tried doing a hard reset as suggested and im not running any other apps. Iv reflashed a couple of times today and both are still causing the same symptoms - touch screen suddenly not as responsive then the tytn freezes completely for a few secs, then its fine for a while.

I think the clue is in the title "...test'.
Dutty dropped off the scene for a couple of weeks due to work pressure and came back to play with the new 'official' ROM's.
The test ROM, is just that !! it's for testing. I would never suggest anyone with a posting score of less than 100 attempt to put TEST ROM's on their Tytn II ... There's already been some issues with Radio's that won't allow downgrading etc.
The test ROM has reports showing issues of a similar nature to those you mention.
I would suggest you re-install a more 'mainstream' ROM at this stage and wait for the test ROM to become stable.
I've had no problems with Dutty's Official WM6.1 5.2.19209 Rom or Polaris Radio 1.64.08.21 Radio, although I may upgrade to the 1.65.16.25 Radio in the next couple of days.
As a rule of thumb, problematic radios exhibit poor signal strength, sound issues and problems with GPS. The issues you mention are often associated with the OS rom, in this case the Duttys_Ruu_Signed_5.2.19585_1_65_16_25_test rom.
Even if changing just the OS Rom, it might be worth downloading, and installing them seperately again - Remebering to Hard Reset after each install.
Backup all your contacts etc. to your SD card with PIM Backup 2.8 before you do anything and remember to remove the SD card before you begin.
[*NOTE: I've based my posting number on a direct relatinship with 1. How long they've been active on the forums and 2. That this length of time would equate to having read most of the posts and be able to navigate round the forum - it is not meant to be an insult to new members I'm not a 100 poster and wouldn't try a test rom either *]
I've flashed my Orange Tytn2 and a friends without issue using the 'official' 6.1 rom that was posted on Modaco.
I didn't hard reset afterwards and both units are working fine. Maybe try flashing your device on a different pc?

tbh i dont think you really got the gist of my post, i WAS saying i had problems with the STOCK ROM, and that i had also tried duttys rom (I was very impressed with it), If you read my posting i think you will realise i simply commented it was showing they SAME symptoms on my phone. My problem was NOT with duttys rom (btw i DID notice the word test in its name before i loaded it, but thanks for pointing that out), I was having problems with the flashing process in general.

The test ROM, is just that !! it's for testing. I would never suggest anyone with a posting score of less than 100 attempt to put TEST ROM's on their Tytn II ... There's already been some issues with Radio's that won't allow downgrading etc.
The test ROM has reports showing issues of a similar nature to those you mention.
I would suggest you re-install a more 'mainstream' ROM at this stage and wait for the test ROM to become stable.
I've had no problems with Dutty's Official WM6.1 5.2.19209 Rom or Polaris Radio 1.64.08.21 Radio, although I may upgrade to the 1.65.16.25 Radio in the next couple of days.
As a rule of thumb, problematic radios exhibit poor signal strength, sound issues and problems with GPS. The issues you mention are often associated with the OS rom, in this case the Duttys_Ruu_Signed_5.2.19585_1_65_16_25_test rom.
Even if changing just the OS Rom, it might be worth downloading, and installing them seperately again - Remebering to Hard Reset after each install.
Backup all your contacts etc. to your SD card with PIM Backup 2.8 before you do anything and remember to remove the SD card before you begin.

What are the symptoms ?
Have you added any other Software (i.e. programs or cabs) ?
Has the device got slower over time ?
What challenges are you having with problems with the flashing process ?
Are you using a screen protector as this reduces the touch sensitivity ?
Im not running any other programs or screen protector, the thing is fine for a minute or so then starts to slow down and reaches the point where nothing will happen and it locks up (for what feels like ages) prob about 30-43secs but its enough to cause grief if ur trying to send a txt with it or browse. Then it comes back to life and is fine again for a while, also getting a few error msgs saying that CProg has problems - (on all the 6.1 roms iv tried).
i have tried several roms (inc stock roms) and although i have read postings in modoco about the new 6.1 rom making the machine unresponsive this takes the biscuit, i thought my old n95 was bugridden when i first got it ;-(
There's a thread over at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=393062 that tells of a similar tale, it might be worth a read.
Some of the issues are with the ROM and poor touch sensitivity making the unit appear to slow down.
If you have nothing to lose, overwrite your ROM's with the ones in my signature, they're on the forum and I know they're quick, and I'm on Orange, so its a good benchmark.
If you are still experiencing similar problems, then I would suggest you update the phone with the original stuff and tell Orange Care that they have a duff handset and you want it replacing.

I'm having a small issue with my VarioII. it seems that no matter what ROM i put on my device, the Small G doesn't want to display, instead there is a small cross with two opposite arrows just above it.
Now i know this is just cosmetic as i do have a connection, however it is really bugging me.
I was originally running Dutty's 1st April with no problems, i then tried all the later versions of Dutty's Rom and L23 Diamond V5 all with te same problem.
I have tried all the Roms with a variety of different radios as well.
The really annoying thing is that i have now gone back to April 01 Dutty's and am finding the problem with this one no as well.
I know i'm not the only one with this issue, so would like to get some heads together on this as it seems to be a problem no matter what Rom is loaded on.
Any Ideas

I remember reading in some post that it was dependant on what SIM card you had?? This missing icon annoys me - I've always had the same SIM card and it worked fine before but since Diamond ROM's have been out the icon has been missing. This is the same for all the ROM's.

I had this issue also on non-diamond roms.
I have this problem only with Dutty's and L26's New Roms
Had the same problem with Dutty's Hybrid v2 ROM.
No solution found yet..
I am not sure but I think some rooms come with 3g disabled
make sure that 3g is enabled in commanger

Its not only about 3G, but also G and E
Well it's good to know that there are some others out there with this problem,
Just to clarify, it is happening with non diamond ROMS aswell. Dutty's 1st april Rom, (pretty sure this is not a Diamond Rom).
What really 'Grinds my Gears' is that it has started to happen on Roms which i previosly hadn't had a problem with. This leads me to assume that it's not a sim card issue.

It is caused by the 2 lines data hack.
So when every you go to data. 2 Icons will pop up. One is the data other is the phone.
When i'm on MSN + Radio (using G at the same time) I can get calls and sms without disconnecting.

and i also had this problem when i was using Dutty's ROM (19700,Radio1.65)
But this problem was wiped out since i've changed to another ROM (19400,Radio 1.27)
So, this problem can be concluded to be a Radio issue.

No i disagree upon that. It is not the radio issue. Only the "G" icon is suffering. There is nothing wrong with the "E" icon. Means that whenever we are entering in to area with Edge Coverage,it show "E". Hope somebody will come with a solution to this problem.

well... i forgetted...
The point is, when i've changed another ROM (19400,R 1.27), the problem gone.
Mine Kaiser was under EDGE coverage... and the E icon sometime got the damn problem...
Sorry to my hasty conclusion. And now, I'd like to say that the problem may have some connection with both Radio and WM 6.1 Core. But not absolutely is a Radio or a WM6.1 Core issue.
U can try another ROM (with different core version) or different Radio separately.
This is common bugs of cooked roms,Mostly I did experience with duttys and L26 Roms.Not related with radio.Try to take out battery some second after install a new Rom..I hope this help...
the same issue and with hypperdragon III wwe 6.1
when the phone is in 3g mode the icon of 3g is there.
only in the gsm mode the icon is missing
i have this problem on all L26 and Hyperdragon III,i think is the diamond rom bugs,i never have gprs icon on all this rom no matter what radio i use.

This is not a Diamond port.

I think that the answer can only be given by a true ROM Cooker. Since they know what changes during the process.

I'm currently using Dutty's April 29 release and I'm trying to try the latest Diamond builds available but I'm having a problem: whenever I install a diamond ROM build after the splash screen I would get some random dots scattered on the screen. I've tried using L26 V8 lite release and Dutty's Diamond release. I thought it was something to do with the radio so I flashed a couple of radio and it didn't solved it. Tried changing SPL from 3.28 -> 3.07 (as I'm using a vodafone brand kaiser) same thing. I reverted back to April 29 build and it's fine. It seems to me it's a refresh issue since it's VGA -> QVGA, I get thte random dots whenever I do anything. Any thoughts? or is it normal for a diamond ROM build?

Please don't start new threads for problems you're experiencing with roms that already have existing threads. This question will get answered much sooner if you post in those threads.

I'm talking about diamond ROM builds in general and not a specific ROM, so I started a new thread. I've been following the latest diamond rom builds and so far I haven't seen any post with regards to this problem.

The way things roll around here:
Perform the following steps, in this order:
read
search
Post in a relevant thread (either of the diamond roms, or both for that matter)
then as an absolute last resort...start a new thread.
I have not see any white spots on my device, but i dont' really watch it that closely when it is flashing. I flashed both roms.

The problem has to do with a memory leak somewhere. I have noticed this problem on several builds myself. It probably is nothing you did, but instead a hardware issue. No meaning you need to fix your phone but instead have to see what programs are doing it and when. I noticed the biggest problem in my file explorer when I had this issue.
Best bet is try another ROM it might fix your problem.

This is the answer that I've been looking for. If that's the case, anyone using v1615 Kaiser and not having problems with the new diamond rom builds?
sounds more like stuck pixels, apply gental pressure to the screen and see if they disappear

hahaha no it's not like that. It looks like that, but everytime you do something, clicking on start, running a program, going from portrait to landscape mode, etc., it's different random dots. It's like when the screen redraws some random pixels are being left behind.
yea this happens sometimes when HTC home loads after im in the explorer and various other programs
