Does Dutty Tilt Rom Ever Leave Beta ?

I have the Beta2 Tilt specific Dutty rom. Is this the "final" version and Dutty is on to better things or is it just a sit and wait?

i would move on to another dutty rom alot of tilt users including myself use the non tilt specific ones anyway. check out his dual touch rom very sweet just make sure to change your radio

grab v3 "final" in a day or two, and use the x.x.11.31 radio then you should be all set.

Creating a Tilt Specific ROM became a non-issue when people started understanding that the only differences were the radio versions and possibly a keyboard layouts. The radio issue is a sticky which is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=349375

Newer does not mean always better. And unfortunately not every Radio works on AT&T devices.

Dutty is the heavyweight rom champ when it comes to the Kaiser. I personally was a little skeptical when it came to upgrading no ATT specific roms when it came to my tilt. Especially since I only used ATT roms on my 8525 that I had previously. However, the newer roms he's putting out (i.e DualTouch v2) soon to be v3 (cant wait!) is worth the switch.
As for radios:
I used .32 and it bleh, got dropped sound from the internal speaker when dialing or recieving calls sometimes, plus horrible battery life
I used .17 for a while, and it was ok on the battery life, also had an internal speaker dropout... although it was less frequent
I just switched to .31 and now my phone is a beast!!! lol
try it, you wont regret it...

Hey, I dont think dutty needs to make tilt specific roms as said in this quote he is the "HEAVYWEIGHT" when it comes to building roms..they all work, been using all duttys on my tilt and work super..
by the way how good is battery life and reception on 1.27.11.31, how many days do you get compared to 1.27.11.32 and hows reception...

MSM7200 vs. MSM7201

Okay, I've seen converstations here and there in unrelated threads. I thought to myself, why don't I start thread that might better explain the differences/benefits of either.
I myself have only enough information to speculate on anything. I won't input, just allow others to share what they know.
What do I know? I know I have a 2 month old AT&T Tilt, that was bought new from the local store. I noticed this evening, for the first time, that it is the MSM7201 processor.
Is this a bad thing? Should I attempt warranty switcharoo?

So did they remove anything in the 7201 versions to not be infringing on any patents in the USA? Like would there be any differences to the end user compared to the 7200? I have read no but I haven't really read what it takes out or changes to be compliant.

I believe its Qualcommm and Broadcomm's politics. Some of us are able to decipher technology and Business.

I think he meant "Technical" differences.
I havent looked yet, so I am curious as well. Does anyone have the info handy? If not ill find it and post it shortly

True, but The Engineer in me helps me translate minute detail in fab processes into objective data to understand how a phone should work and if it does.

It looks like Qualcomm infringed several Broadcomm's patents and several Qualcomm chips (including 7200) and devices using it were banned from being imported into U.S.
From what I have read it looks like the patents cover video compression algorithms. That may be the reason people are having problems with video using certain radio versions.

Mine was accurate in the original and in duttys. I have a 7201 and I have camera problems. I had mine replaced under warranty and got a 7201 back. Three of my friends have purchased Tilts in the last few weeks and they all have 7201. They've flashed theirs and all lost their ability to record video with anything but the stock ROM and NoThrils ROM. It doesn't seem to be any different aside from that although(call me crazy), mine feels faster. Not like it has drivers or anything. Just snappier.

I am just curious to why on NoThrills ROM works with the 7201 for recording video. I assume that you have already tried other ROM's based off the same build. I wonder if this has to do with the radio maybe and not just the ROM?

I have used may ROMs and a few different radios on few different ROMS. They don't record the video, only the audio on Duttys and every other I've tried except for NoThrils. I don't understand it. I've used a few different radios on this Nothrills ROM and it doesn't seem to effect the video. I'm thinking it's fairly simple like just one single file for the camera being different.

I haven't seen anyone in the latest Nothrills ROM thread complain about it and since the vast majority of people have a 7200, i would think that it does. I learned about a possible fix for my problem which was actually talking about a slightly different issue from the fallowing thread. They were having issue with pixelation in the video were I was just getting no video. Their solution worked for me as well.

Looking back at the collection of ROMS I've accumulated since I got my phone about a month ago, I don't see any cooked WM6 roms Which means of the several I've tested ever since this issue came up, none were WM6.
The only WM6 ROMs I did test this issue on were original AT&T Roms:
RUU_Kaiser_CINGULAR_WWE_1.57 - Originaly Shipped AT&T ROM.exe
found somewhere in the forums. The camera still produced junk for output.
Then I tried out the more recent:
RUU_Kaiser_CINGULAR_WWE_1.62.502.0_radio_sign_22.45.88.07_1.27.14.09R2_Ship.exe
which works just fine and was probably modified to support whatever changes they made in the MSM7201.

is there any different between 7200 and 7201

New Builds TouchFlo & Touchscreen Responces Problems. [SOLVED!!!!!!!!!]

I have have problems listed below with new build roms :-
- Missplaced effect to screen taps i.e. press htc home tab instead effects plugin below like calender pops up, or when using the on screen keyboard it enders the letter below the one i select.
- When doing a finger 'flick' or 'drag' scrolling in for example programs menu, when i begin it on a program icon, which on older builds would be ok, in newer builds, it will begin to scroll but the program will also be activated.
- Also when scrolling on file explorer, if i hold my figer on screen while scrolling up, the hold menu (one that pop's up when you select and hold on a file) will pop up. This while its actually scrolling.
Notes
-I do perform hard resets after every flash even just radio flashing.
-I have performed several realignment of the screen.
-Tried all possible radios compatible with the roms.
-Tried reflashing oem rom then back to wanted roms.
-Tried redoing Hardspl.
Solution
Using Kaisertweak here attached change TouchFlo Sensitivity to Normal.

i have 1.65.20.29 but haven't had any problems that u decribe.

you *HAVE* to use a compatible ROM. You can't just toss it against any WM6 or even WM6.1 ROM. If the ROM wasn't intended to be used with a 1.65 radio, you WILL HAVE PROBLEMS.

I am using the radio's specified for the roms all the new builds = 1.65.xx.xx right? unless its hybrid, in on NoThrills build .19202 that only works with 1.65.xx.xx roms as well as every other .19202+ unless some hybrids e.g. dutty's, and all of them as long as i use that build of radio gives me above problems. I do know my stuff on radio - rom compatibility

Sorry I don't know how after all these replies and nobody has stepped up to say I find it VERY hard to believe ANY of those problems would be caused by the radio. Enough Said.

For the screen issue, try and re-align your screen. Start/settings/system/screen/align screen.

I guess its an isolated problem must be my device then like how when i removed a screen protector i put on the device on the day i got it speed it up. But i dunno how to tell the carrier i installed a different rom from that you give by default and its the one that shows my device is faulty.

I have done screen re-alignment its a problem that occurs from time to time sometimes more frequent than other times.

I've tried posting in rom threads of this problem and got nothing except that knowone else seemed to have the problem? if these are new radio for new build would any new official releace builds have such radios? and if so could i have a hardware problem? would i need to replace my device? i have an MDA Vario III is it that the builds are originally ATT.

Have you tried flashing the stock rom that your phone came with, and then flashing dutty's...doing a hard reset...etc? I have seen that get rid of a lot of just really random/weird glitches, which it seems is what you have.

I dont have said problem with dutty's roms since they are hybrid and so allowing me to use any radio problem isn't with the rom its radio just newer builds only work with the problem radios if i try a different radio with the roms buit to work only with the problem radios apart from camera and sound issues i don't have any problems with them, (any problems i mentioned above) thats why i say my problems are because of the radio.

I'm not entirely sure what you just said, but even on the hybrid only one version is compatible wiht the new radios. That's why there are 2 versions of each rom that he made of the V2 Hybrid. One for the 1.65.xx.xx radios and one for all the other radios, a cube, non-cube, and lite version for each radio.

Well i used the version that worked with the old radios but changed to a different one because of other issues.
My point was the radio the radios + new build or even old build = the problems for me.

I even hard reset after flashing just a splash screen (yes i Hard Reset)

Yes 150% sure + Camera and sound worked fine, its not just with dutty's roms it's with all new builds iv tried NoThrills, TNT professional and vanilla, Hyperdragon and the newer PDAVIET ones.

i had a problem
my cell was making a static sound with the 1.65 radio and I am using dutty's v2 with no cube. I think it's not compatible with the rom, i went back to polaris 1.58.21.23. It's the best rom for me, although i still get calls in which the calling party can hear me while i cannot hear them (maybe every 2 out of 10 calls i receive).
Any Help from the senior members?

On the new 'official' rom with a 1.65.xx.xx radio which flashes both rom and radio and to work i would have already carried out a hardspl so the problems aren't down to me HELP! and for the record problem only there with 1.65.xx.xx radios yes i am sure i have carried out tests and i only have the problem with these radios so don't patronize me plz.

Tilt Video Capture issue

Hey guys, I am relatively new to this, but I am running Ruu_Signed_Duttys_WM6.1_5.2.19700_Hybrid V2_1_65.14.06[CubeV2] on my ATT Tilt. The rom is great, but after flashing i can no longer view videos that i record from my phone. The sound plays but no picture. I have tried to search for a solution and the only one that comes close is to flash a different radio, but this is not changing anything

You probably have a qualcomm 7201 in your tilt. The newer tilts have them instead of the the older 7200 chipset. The problem you're running into is very similar to the thread below and the fix is the same. You'll find that the cameras in some ROMs will work for you and some will not. You can use this fix to fix your camera now or you can use the ROM in my signature or Nothrills latest ROM. Both of which have compatible cameras. Good Luck!!!!

Missing GPRS Icon

Guys,
I'm having a small issue with my VarioII. it seems that no matter what ROM i put on my device, the Small G doesn't want to display, instead there is a small cross with two opposite arrows just above it.
Now i know this is just cosmetic as i do have a connection, however it is really bugging me.
I was originally running Dutty's 1st April with no problems, i then tried all the later versions of Dutty's Rom and L23 Diamond V5 all with te same problem.
I have tried all the Roms with a variety of different radios as well.
The really annoying thing is that i have now gone back to April 01 Dutty's and am finding the problem with this one no as well.
I know i'm not the only one with this issue, so would like to get some heads together on this as it seems to be a problem no matter what Rom is loaded on.
Any Ideas

I'm pretty sure it's a problem with the Diamond ROM. Bugs the hell out of me.
Anyone with any pointers where to start looking. I'm not after a hand out, just a starting point would be nice

I remember reading in some post that it was dependant on what SIM card you had?? This missing icon annoys me - I've always had the same SIM card and it worked fine before but since Diamond ROM's have been out the icon has been missing. This is the same for all the ROM's.

I had this issue also on non-diamond roms.

I have this problem only with Dutty's and L26's New Roms

Had the same problem with Dutty's Hybrid v2 ROM.
No solution found yet..

I am not sure but I think some rooms come with 3g disabled
make sure that 3g is enabled in commanger

Its not only about 3G, but also G and E

Well it's good to know that there are some others out there with this problem,
Just to clarify, it is happening with non diamond ROMS aswell. Dutty's 1st april Rom, (pretty sure this is not a Diamond Rom).
What really 'Grinds my Gears' is that it has started to happen on Roms which i previosly hadn't had a problem with. This leads me to assume that it's not a sim card issue.

It is caused by the 2 lines data hack.
So when every you go to data. 2 Icons will pop up. One is the data other is the phone.
When i'm on MSN + Radio (using G at the same time) I can get calls and sms without disconnecting.

and i also had this problem when i was using Dutty's ROM (19700,Radio1.65)
But this problem was wiped out since i've changed to another ROM (19400,Radio 1.27)
So, this problem can be concluded to be a Radio issue.

No i disagree upon that. It is not the radio issue. Only the "G" icon is suffering. There is nothing wrong with the "E" icon. Means that whenever we are entering in to area with Edge Coverage,it show "E". Hope somebody will come with a solution to this problem.

well... i forgetted...
The point is, when i've changed another ROM (19400,R 1.27), the problem gone.
Mine Kaiser was under EDGE coverage... and the E icon sometime got the damn problem...
Sorry to my hasty conclusion. And now, I'd like to say that the problem may have some connection with both Radio and WM 6.1 Core. But not absolutely is a Radio or a WM6.1 Core issue.
U can try another ROM (with different core version) or different Radio separately.

This is common bugs of cooked roms,Mostly I did experience with duttys and L26 Roms.Not related with radio.Try to take out battery some second after install a new Rom..I hope this help...

the same issue and with hypperdragon III wwe 6.1
when the phone is in 3g mode the icon of 3g is there.
only in the gsm mode the icon is missing

i have this problem on all L26 and Hyperdragon III,i think is the diamond rom bugs,i never have gprs icon on all this rom no matter what radio i use.

I disagree.. ...I've had the same problem with the Hybrid v2 ROM by Dutty.
This is not a Diamond port.

I think that the answer can only be given by a true ROM Cooker. Since they know what changes during the process.
