New Radio Rom v2.47.21

I've created (or cooked.. to make fooar happy.... ) a new Radio Rom its v2.47.21
This is for G3 only (I will make a G4 version in a few)
Please test this and let me know, I'm running this at the moment without problems, but it's only running for about 15 minutes

Have you ever seen a release note for any other ROM on here ? nope, so either you test it or you don't test it, but don't complain.....
There are enough other geeks to test this,myself included and yes this obviously came from the official swedish rom, and the 2.67.90 never worked, that was a test rom from another HTC device.
So, for the other fellow geeks
Please test it and report here, curious to hear about coverage and battery usage etc.

Ok but don't write that you have "created" but tell simply the truth that you have extract this rom from swedish rom.
So people can't test this rom more quietly.

Excuse me, but I've created this Radio ROM upgrade, as i've extracted the ROM for the swedish version, extracted the RADIO ROM, created a new ROM, added the ROM update utils and repacked it.
You don't "extract" a cake from milk,flower,pudding, you create it.
I can say I cooked the Radio ROM..happy now ?
Geezh...

After a few hours of usage, calls, sms, mms,gprs, this seems pretty stable, normal battery usage.

After one day, wifi always consume more energy than edge.
But really stable this rom !

I installed this rom yesterday... I had a problem but I do not know if it's related to this new radio rom...
I was using Tomtom5 with my bluetooth gps in my car... my girlfriend tried to call me but her call went directly to the voice mail...
There was full signal where I was... she was on the corner and she told me signal was perfect...
When I switched to the today screen, the "signal meter" got a exclamation mark... I closed tomtom and it was back to normal... this is the first time I have this problem

Here also problems. A lot of times when my girlfriend tries to call me it goes straight to voicemail as well. Also when I have good reception.
Ever since I upgraded from the shipped NLD version to the WWE (now the latest 220734_2207114_024721_QTEK_WWE) I have problems with calls not coming through now and then. A soft reset works for a while.

IF this is the same rom in your other full roms then its a fantastic radio rom, stable, normal battery usage.
Dont give jesterz a hard time, you extract and repackage a rom.

Telephone show 100% signal strength and all calls go directly to voicemail.

I got problems to get a connection with gprs... i downgraded again...

Big problem - cannot receive calls while phone is sleeping

I've tried Crossbow 1.7 rom and WWE rom. Both of them have the same issue, and as I understand other roms will have it too.
When phone is active (display is lit) it receives phone calls no problem. But if I leave it for 20-30 minutes, so it "falls asleep" (screen shuts off, but phone is in stand-by), no calls get through at all. There is no indication that phone is ringing, and there is no indication of a missed call OR voicemail. If I call voicemail, it tells me that I have _ new messages, but phone is clueless of it.
Phone is fully unlocked, including CID unlock (lockiwiz)
I've reflashed both times to 1.0 ROM (as explained in the tutorial here somewhere), then to T-Mobile 2.25 (or 2.26 don't remember), then to cooked ROM.
ROM version: 2.18.0.0 WWE
ROM date: 2/14/06
Radio version: 2.25.11
Protocol version 4.1.13.12
ExtROM version: faria V5.0
I'm with Cingular, it's an 8125.
Any input really appreciated, phone is pretty much useless as it it right now.

Try the 2.19 radio. My phone does the same thing with 2.25

Where can I find it?

Ok, i'm going to be kind (sort of) but how about you read the first post of the Crossbow Reloaded 1.7 thread (its in my sig at the bottom) and check out the Recomendations section and then tell us what you did wrong...
I try to be very clear on my rom releases about things. Too bad nobody reads stuff I write and are too busy just grabbing and flashing and then complaining that things don't work.

Is reading really necessary? lol I though all those funny characters were pretty pictures...

I'm definitely not complaining - I think it's amazing what you guys are doing. I was surprised that everything worked as great as it is. I always thought that it must be something very simple that causes this.. and although I did read your thread fully, there was another tutorial that explained the reflashing, and it recommended a different ROM =( So I was confused. But now I'm back to the source. Hehe.

Don't tuck your tail too far between your legs... As I've stated in another thread, I've just been in a "mood" today (my wife asked if this was my PMS week this morning... Ouch). Congrats on successfully installing it. I hope the no dial pad "feature" doesn't bite you as its a great rom if you don't hit that. If you do find you don't have a dialpad then try 1.7.1 (link also in my sig next to what rom I'm running).

Radio roms: Which gives best signal and reception?

Hi I am running NBD v.8.3 wm6 on my mda and I am just hoping someone could tell me what the best possible combination is to create the strongest signal and create the best reception.
I have been using the T-Mobile 2.69.11 radio and was not entirely satisfied. It seemed quieter for some reason and some people could not hear me as well as with the standard T-Mobile 2.26.11 radio.
Right now I am using the Cingular 2.47.11 radio with the XDA Cingular WM6 Radio Fix2 and my signal seems a little stronger. Like when I would be sitting here at my computer, I would only have like 1 bar with the 2.69.11 radio but now I have 2 but that still isnt good enough for me.
Is there any other combination that I have missed or a better radio out there? If anyone has any ideas, please post and let me know.

hey i got the same problem.. i have the tmobile mda and i think reception sucks, i would lose reception while just sitting in my house and at work. so wat i did.. is i flashed my fone with the tmobile 2.26 offical rom and than i flashed it with the XM6r3 rom just cause it works great for me and than i flashed it with the T-Mobile-UK_2.19.11_Radinly ROM and so far it seems to be working great for me i'll have 1 or 2 bars at home but i havent lost reception yet... so give it a try and let me know how it goes..

The T-Mobile-UK_2.19.11_Radinly ROM is the best I've used. I'm even using it now with the latest official Cingular ROM for the 8125 (Wizard 100)

what about the2.47 Cingular one
I cannot find the radio ROM 2.47 anywhere, can you guys help me and as far as 2.19 T-mobile UK only how is the battery life on your phone ?

I have the file saved on my windows laptop...if you can't locate it PM me and I'll upload to rapidshare or something like that for you to get it.
I think there is still a radio rom directory on the XDA ftp and it might be in there.

Is there any documentation, or just some user white papers, of what the difference between the diff. radio roms are? Does anyone even know, beyond the observation of which one gave their particular phone better reception? I'm curious just for the sake of knowledge
I'm running the 2.25.11 radio rom, on my Cingular 8125, and it works good, but lately I've missed/ignored a couple calls and my phone doesn't have the "missed call" icon on the top bar, my Phone program registers a missed call though.
I want to load up different radio roms and see which one works the best though, however I can't remember the instructions on doing that to my G4 CID-Locked phone. I've been looking around the forums and can't find it. Anyone point me in the right direction?
EDIT: I found the thread I was looking for. This thread talks about another radio rom and a utility to use on G4 phones, which can be found here.
Question for any knowledgeable people reading this. Can the G4 utility mentioned in the other thread I linked to, be used to load cooked roms too? Or is it safe to just load radio roms with it only?

I've tried them all and I've found the 2.61 radio rom to have the best signal.

I haven't seen any difference in battery drain, using power drain in batterystatus(latest build).

I like the cingular stock radio 2.25.11

For me 2.47.11 radio rom works best.....Goodyear Az AT&T

I loaded 2.61 and haven't seen any difference. I may play with the radio roms later. I loaded the bundle referenced earlier. I wonder how much difference a ROM can really make on radio reception though. Still, an interesting experiment.

I've loaded the ROM he recommends but don't see any differece of note. Although a marginal difference would be difficult to see without a more scientific method than mine.
My desk is located where I will get and lose the signal - mostly no signal at all. I still see the occassional signal capture but no more than usual. Again, not very scientific. Nonetheless, I'll use the 2.19 since it doesn't appear to have any less performance and somebody has some measurements to support the case for this ROM.
I am confused though, since signal level is a hardware measurement (electrical measurement) and not a software issue. Oh well.

I am the one who did the measurements starter of that topic and of course still using 2.19.11

2.19.11 - Best Radio ROM
Undoubtedly, 2.19.11 is the best radio ROM for reception. I was always alternating between 1 bar and no signal at my work with 2.15 and now with 2.19.11, I have atleast 2-3 bars at all times. I am on T-mobile network.
I had numerous missed calls before but since the last 2 days after changing to 2.19.11 I haven't had one.

New Builds TouchFlo & Touchscreen Responces Problems. [SOLVED!!!!!!!!!]

I have have problems listed below with new build roms :-
- Missplaced effect to screen taps i.e. press htc home tab instead effects plugin below like calender pops up, or when using the on screen keyboard it enders the letter below the one i select.
- When doing a finger 'flick' or 'drag' scrolling in for example programs menu, when i begin it on a program icon, which on older builds would be ok, in newer builds, it will begin to scroll but the program will also be activated.
- Also when scrolling on file explorer, if i hold my figer on screen while scrolling up, the hold menu (one that pop's up when you select and hold on a file) will pop up. This while its actually scrolling.
Notes
-I do perform hard resets after every flash even just radio flashing.
-I have performed several realignment of the screen.
-Tried all possible radios compatible with the roms.
-Tried reflashing oem rom then back to wanted roms.
-Tried redoing Hardspl.
Solution
Using Kaisertweak here attached change TouchFlo Sensitivity to Normal.

yet again no help yet new 'best rom' threads still get replies 'sigh' well whatever.

i have 1.65.20.29 but haven't had any problems that u decribe.

you *HAVE* to use a compatible ROM. You can't just toss it against any WM6 or even WM6.1 ROM. If the ROM wasn't intended to be used with a 1.65 radio, you WILL HAVE PROBLEMS.
What ROM are you using?

I am using the radio's specified for the roms all the new builds = 1.65.xx.xx right? unless its hybrid, in on NoThrills build .19202 that only works with 1.65.xx.xx roms as well as every other .19202+ unless some hybrids e.g. dutty's, and all of them as long as i use that build of radio gives me above problems. I do know my stuff on radio - rom compatibility

Sorry I don't know how after all these replies and nobody has stepped up to say I find it VERY hard to believe ANY of those problems would be caused by the radio. Enough Said.

For the screen issue, try and re-align your screen. Start/settings/system/screen/align screen.

I guess its an isolated problem must be my device then like how when i removed a screen protector i put on the device on the day i got it speed it up. But i dunno how to tell the carrier i installed a different rom from that you give by default and its the one that shows my device is faulty.

I have done screen re-alignment its a problem that occurs from time to time sometimes more frequent than other times.

I've tried posting in rom threads of this problem and got nothing except that knowone else seemed to have the problem? if these are new radio for new build would any new official releace builds have such radios? and if so could i have a hardware problem? would i need to replace my device? i have an MDA Vario III is it that the builds are originally ATT.

Have you tried flashing the stock rom that your phone came with, and then flashing dutty's...doing a hard reset...etc? I have seen that get rid of a lot of just really random/weird glitches, which it seems is what you have.

I dont have said problem with dutty's roms since they are hybrid and so allowing me to use any radio problem isn't with the rom its radio just newer builds only work with the problem radios if i try a different radio with the roms buit to work only with the problem radios apart from camera and sound issues i don't have any problems with them, (any problems i mentioned above) thats why i say my problems are because of the radio.

I'm not entirely sure what you just said, but even on the hybrid only one version is compatible wiht the new radios. That's why there are 2 versions of each rom that he made of the V2 Hybrid. One for the 1.65.xx.xx radios and one for all the other radios, a cube, non-cube, and lite version for each radio.

Start using more line brakes, ponctation, and such...

Did you HARD RESET after flashing ROM's?

Well i used the version that worked with the old radios but changed to a different one because of other issues.
My point was the radio the radios + new build or even old build = the problems for me.

I even hard reset after flashing just a splash screen (yes i Hard Reset)

Yes 150% sure + Camera and sound worked fine, its not just with dutty's roms it's with all new builds iv tried NoThrills, TNT professional and vanilla, Hyperdragon and the newer PDAVIET ones.

i had a problem
my cell was making a static sound with the 1.65 radio and I am using dutty's v2 with no cube. I think it's not compatible with the rom, i went back to polaris 1.58.21.23. It's the best rom for me, although i still get calls in which the calling party can hear me while i cannot hear them (maybe every 2 out of 10 calls i receive).
Any Help from the senior members?

Any tips on telling your carrier my device has a problem only noticeable through the use of custom roms and radios.

Which Hardspl have people used from looking around it seems they are two which is the more common one? only post if you are using 1.65.xx.xx radio with no problems .. thats probably everyone else using the radio ( Yes desperation is setting in)

On the new 'official' rom with a 1.65.xx.xx radio which flashes both rom and radio and to work i would have already carried out a hardspl so the problems aren't down to me HELP! and for the record problem only there with 1.65.xx.xx radios yes i am sure i have carried out tests and i only have the problem with these radios so don't patronize me plz.

Missing GPRS Icon

I'm having a small issue with my VarioII. it seems that no matter what ROM i put on my device, the Small G doesn't want to display, instead there is a small cross with two opposite arrows just above it.
Now i know this is just cosmetic as i do have a connection, however it is really bugging me.
I was originally running Dutty's 1st April with no problems, i then tried all the later versions of Dutty's Rom and L23 Diamond V5 all with te same problem.
I have tried all the Roms with a variety of different radios as well.
The really annoying thing is that i have now gone back to April 01 Dutty's and am finding the problem with this one no as well.
I know i'm not the only one with this issue, so would like to get some heads together on this as it seems to be a problem no matter what Rom is loaded on.
Any Ideas

I remember reading in some post that it was dependant on what SIM card you had?? This missing icon annoys me - I've always had the same SIM card and it worked fine before but since Diamond ROM's have been out the icon has been missing. This is the same for all the ROM's.

I had this issue also on non-diamond roms.

I have this problem only with Dutty's and L26's New Roms

Had the same problem with Dutty's Hybrid v2 ROM.
No solution found yet..

I am not sure but I think some rooms come with 3g disabled
make sure that 3g is enabled in commanger

Its not only about 3G, but also G and E

Well it's good to know that there are some others out there with this problem,
Just to clarify, it is happening with non diamond ROMS aswell. Dutty's 1st april Rom, (pretty sure this is not a Diamond Rom).
What really 'Grinds my Gears' is that it has started to happen on Roms which i previosly hadn't had a problem with. This leads me to assume that it's not a sim card issue.

It is caused by the 2 lines data hack.
So when every you go to data. 2 Icons will pop up. One is the data other is the phone.
When i'm on MSN + Radio (using G at the same time) I can get calls and sms without disconnecting.

and i also had this problem when i was using Dutty's ROM (19700,Radio1.65)
But this problem was wiped out since i've changed to another ROM (19400,Radio 1.27)
So, this problem can be concluded to be a Radio issue.

No i disagree upon that. It is not the radio issue. Only the "G" icon is suffering. There is nothing wrong with the "E" icon. Means that whenever we are entering in to area with Edge Coverage,it show "E". Hope somebody will come with a solution to this problem.

well... i forgetted...
The point is, when i've changed another ROM (19400,R 1.27), the problem gone.
Mine Kaiser was under EDGE coverage... and the E icon sometime got the damn problem...
Sorry to my hasty conclusion. And now, I'd like to say that the problem may have some connection with both Radio and WM 6.1 Core. But not absolutely is a Radio or a WM6.1 Core issue.
U can try another ROM (with different core version) or different Radio separately.

This is common bugs of cooked roms,Mostly I did experience with duttys and L26 Roms.Not related with radio.Try to take out battery some second after install a new Rom..I hope this help...

the same issue and with hypperdragon III wwe 6.1
when the phone is in 3g mode the icon of 3g is there.
only in the gsm mode the icon is missing

i have this problem on all L26 and Hyperdragon III,i think is the diamond rom bugs,i never have gprs icon on all this rom no matter what radio i use.

i agree with u my friend !isn't matter of radio,it's build's issue(diamond)

I disagree.. ...I've had the same problem with the Hybrid v2 ROM by Dutty.
This is not a Diamond port.

it's very annoyed this missing icon

I think that the answer can only be given by a true ROM Cooker. Since they know what changes during the process.
