New Radio Rom v2.47.21 - JAMin, XDA Neo, S200 Software Upgrading

I've created (or cooked.. to make fooar happy.... ) a new Radio Rom its v2.47.21
This is for G3 only (I will make a G4 version in a few)
Please test this and let me know, I'm running this at the moment without problems, but it's only running for about 15 minutes
G3
ftp://xda:[email protected]/RadioRom/Prophet_G3_RadioRom_v2.47.21.exe
Update:
G4 (please test this more, as my phone is G3)
ftp://xda:[email protected]/RadioRom/Prophet_G4_RadioRom_v2.47.21.exe

What's new with this version ....

It doesn't come with a release note Sorry
Just try it and report

Humm, sorry but without release notes, it's not a serious job.
I'm not so geeks to test.
Give some informations to validate and may-be i'll test.
I have read so many pb with Radio Rom 2.67.90 Radio version 02.47.11.
Have you extract this Radio Rom from "New rom for Swedish S200" ftp://xdaupload:[email protected]/Prophet/Prophet-roms/Rom 2.20.7.30 Swedish S200.zip http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=283028

Have you ever seen a release note for any other ROM on here ? nope, so either you test it or you don't test it, but don't complain.....
There are enough other geeks to test this, myself included and yes this obviously came from the official swedish rom, and the 2.67.90 never worked, that was a test rom from another HTC device.
So, for the other fellow geeks
Please test it and report here, curious to hear about coverage and battery usage etc.

Ok but don't write that you have "created" but tell simply the truth that you have extract this rom from swedish rom.
So people can't test this rom more quietly.
"but don't complain....." I don't complain, i take information.
Gook test for all other geeks with this rom.

Excuse me, but I've created this Radio ROM upgrade, as i've extracted the ROM for the swedish version, extracted the RADIO ROM, created a new ROM, added the ROM update utils and repacked it.
You don't "extract" a cake from milk, flower, pudding, you create it.
I can say I cooked the Radio ROM..happy now ?
Geezh...

I'll call you the "Paul Bocuse " of radio rom.
Let us stop the discussion and test this rom.

After a few hours of usage, calls, sms, mms, gprs, this seems pretty stable, normal battery usage.

After one day, wifi always consume more energy than edge.
But really stable this rom !

I installed this rom yesterday... I had a problem but I do not know if it's related to this new radio rom...
I was using Tomtom5 with my bluetooth gps in my car... my girlfriend tried to call me but her call went directly to the voice mail...
There was full signal where I was... she was on the corner and she told me signal was perfect...
When I switched to the today screen, the "signal meter" got a exclamation mark... I closed tomtom and it was back to normal... this is the first time I have this problem

voicemail..
Here also problems. A lot of times when my girlfriend tries to call me it goes straight to voicemail as well. Also when I have good reception.
Ever since I upgraded from the shipped NLD version to the WWE (now the latest 220734_2207114_024721_QTEK_WWE) I have problems with calls not coming through now and then. A soft reset works for a while.
Regards,
Dennis

IF this is the same rom in your other full roms then its a fantastic radio rom, stable, normal battery usage.
Dont give jesterz a hard time, you extract and repackage a rom.

No good!
Telephone show 100% signal strength and all calls go directly to voicemail.

I got problems to get a connection with gprs... i downgraded again...

I know how to ugrade my rom Thanks.
When you read the different topics about the different ROM's you will notice that not everyone is thinking the same about every ROM. So you really should try them yourself and decide wich you like the most.

Sad part is the most stable wm6 rom is in chinese so far. I know this wouldnt help you, but you should try each rom and see for yourself. Some of them look good in the beginning, then it starts crashing within a week. Give aku 3.3 a try or re-evaluate do you really need wm6 or aku3.3 (they are no official release for prophet) anyway good luck, hope you find what you are looking for.
I'am not a Geek but after use WM6 it's appear that he is more speed and more funnyier to us as WM5. So I prefer a rom with some bug but with more powerfull instead another bugless and more slowly. I Try the WM6 Rom WM6 PDA Mobiz. Yet no big problem

Radio roms: Which gives best signal and reception?

Hi I am running NBD v.8.3 wm6 on my mda and I am just hoping someone could tell me what the best possible combination is to create the strongest signal and create the best reception.
I have been using the T-Mobile 2.69.11 radio and was not entirely satisfied. It seemed quieter for some reason and some people could not hear me as well as with the standard T-Mobile 2.26.11 radio.
Right now I am using the Cingular 2.47.11 radio with the XDA Cingular WM6 Radio Fix2 and my signal seems a little stronger. Like when I would be sitting here at my computer, I would only have like 1 bar with the 2.69.11 radio but now I have 2 but that still isnt good enough for me.
Is there any other combination that I have missed or a better radio out there? If anyone has any ideas, please post and let me know.
hey i got the same problem.. i have the tmobile mda and i think reception sucks, i would lose reception while just sitting in my house and at work. so wat i did.. is i flashed my fone with the tmobile 2.26 offical rom and than i flashed it with the XM6r3 rom just cause it works great for me and than i flashed it with the T-Mobile-UK_2.19.11_Radinly ROM and so far it seems to be working great for me i'll have 1 or 2 bars at home but i havent lost reception yet... so give it a try and let me know how it goes..
The T-Mobile-UK_2.19.11_Radinly ROM is the best I've used. I'm even using it now with the latest official Cingular ROM for the 8125 (Wizard 100)
what about the2.47 Cingular one
I cannot find the radio ROM 2.47 anywhere, can you guys help me and as far as 2.19 T-mobile UK only how is the battery life on your phone ?

I think there is still a radio rom directory on the XDA ftp and it might be in there.
I found it and I others as well 2.19/2.21/2.25/2.40/2.47/2.69

Hi guys!
Is there any documentation, or just some user white papers, of what the difference between the diff. radio roms are? Does anyone even know, beyond the observation of which one gave their particular phone better reception? I'm curious just for the sake of knowledge
I'm running the 2.25.11 radio rom, on my Cingular 8125, and it works good, but lately I've missed/ignored a couple calls and my phone doesn't have the "missed call" icon on the top bar, my Phone program registers a missed call though.
I want to load up different radio roms and see which one works the best though, however I can't remember the instructions on doing that to my G4 CID-Locked phone. I've been looking around the forums and can't find it. Anyone point me in the right direction?
EDIT: I found the thread I was looking for. This thread talks about another radio rom and a utility to use on G4 phones, which can be found here.
Question for any knowledgeable people reading this. Can the G4 utility mentioned in the other thread I linked to, be used to load cooked roms too? Or is it safe to just load radio roms with it only?
I've tried them all and I've found the 2.61 radio rom to have the best signal.

I like the cingular stock radio 2.25.11
For me 2.47.11 radio rom works best.....Goodyear Az AT&T
I loaded 2.61 and haven't seen any difference. I may play with the radio roms later. I loaded the bundle referenced earlier. I wonder how much difference a ROM can really make on radio reception though. Still, an interesting experiment.
Yo all! Take a look here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=306296
Thanks Wizeman! A good thread. He did is homework, it appears.
I've loaded the ROM he recommends but don't see any differece of note. Although a marginal difference would be difficult to see without a more scientific method than mine.
My desk is located where I will get and lose the signal - mostly no signal at all. I still see the occassional signal capture but no more than usual. Again, not very scientific. Nonetheless, I'll use the 2.19 since it doesn't appear to have any less performance and somebody has some measurements to support the case for this ROM.
I am confused though, since signal level is a hardware measurement (electrical measurement) and not a software issue. Oh well.
I am the one who did the measurements starter of that topic and of course still using 2.19.11
Oops ... didn't look, just read the post! I'm sure it was good for a chuckle though.
2.19.11 - Best Radio ROM
Undoubtedly, 2.19.11 is the best radio ROM for reception. I was always alternating between 1 bar and no signal at my work with 2.15 and now with 2.19.11, I have atleast 2-3 bars at all times. I am on T-mobile network.
I had numerous missed calls before but since the last 2 days after changing to 2.19.11 I haven't had one.

Black Diamond Question

hi i was reading the black diamond thread and people were saying that they had problems with droped calls and that when they would get new sms their phone would crash was this ever fixed? in 3.0 or was it just the 1.0 and 2.0?
answer
hey. those comments are in reference to Blackdiamond 3.1. I got dropped calls with the ROM all the time and I couldn't end my calls ever, so I flashed another ROM. But i came back to this one and this time i tried the 2.19 radio rom with it and for the past week everything has been working fine. No dropped calls or any other problems. So just flash the 2.19 radio rom after you flash BlackDiamond. Hope that helps.

where can i get the 2.19 radio rom?
BD3.1
I've tested BD 3.1 and I can say it is one of the best ROM's around.
But i had my issues with it.
I got my voice on calls scrambled bad, people barely could hear me.
I changed a lot of RADIOS and no hope.
2.19.11 is very good but the signal meter didn't work on me with BD 3.1.
Now I'm on 2.47.11 and I'm using TNT's ROM as it is the base for BD either.
PSo some search for radio ROMs here around.

hey. i think he meant that TNT is the ROM that BlackDiamond (BD) is based off of. try the 2.19.11 radio rom and if that doesn't fix the call problems (even though it should) then i would agree with the other reply and go with TNT's rom, it's a good ROM as well.

in general speaking, you must have double registered the number (the same number registered twice) that's the only way that no name is shown on screen if you have registered. Please check if you have double records on your contacts or may be you caller id service is not activated call your service provider to check it up
scrolling with touchflow
scrolling downwards: scroll (slip softly) your finger from button to top without taking up your finger
scroll upwards: scroll your finger from top to button without taking up your finger.
stop scrolling: just click (tap) with your finger in the middle of screen once.
also try to use the top of your nail instead of your finger that will do better contact with the screen (of course if your nail is not sharpened - otherwhise you'll scratch your screen)
just once
i just flashed my rom all over again after a system hangup..
i just lowered the volume, and it crashed..
but other than tha..no problems...so..just try it..

Calling all Orange users - What Radio?

Hi Peeps, wondered if any of you Orange (UK) users had changed their Radio version and if so;
1) which one?
2) How does it rate (reception etc)
thanks for the feedback!
French One
Well... i just flashed HTC original ROM and then flashed the french rom 1.27.12.17.... dunno exactly how good it is... but till now seems to work fine.... though seems the original Orange UK rom has better camera performance But dunno try the French one or the US one just before the french listed in the radio page.

Incidentally I use 1.27.12.17. I briefly tried 1.27.12.32, but went back to .12.17 as I found that it was giving me slightly better battery life.

1.) Test them yourself
2.) Test it yourself.
Radio's / area differ from everybody. Just try out each one and see which one gives you the best result. That is the best way to tell.
Now if you would have said...everybody in London using Orange then that would have been different but just to simply say a whole country whill give you various reults dependent on region, etc. (I understand England is not that big)
There is already a radio sticky related to this post I suggest next to time to follow up there first instead of creating a new thread!
Hi,
Since I unlocked my Kaiser, I upgraded to .32, and it works just fine. I downloaded it from a thread on this site, where all radios are. Don't have the link handy right now, unfortunately.
Cheers.
Hi,
Just go to the radios thread ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=349375 ), there you'll find all the information you need plus some more Knowledge about radios, gps, camera...
cheers
I'm using Dutty's 6.1 rom 20/2/8 ver, unlocked as well (Originally locked to Orange).
I upgraded the radio to 1.64.08.21 and no problems - been running for over a week so far. I would even go as far to say that the bluetooth volume has improved in my car with this version.
Go for it - it's worth it!

Can i please have some assistance with a radio please?

Hi everyone. Excellent place here. VERY helpful, and the information flows like wine!
I bought a at&t tilt, i have sim unlocked it, and installed about 4 different roms. I have ended up going back to 1.56.405.5 (radio 1.27.12.11) standar HTC rom version. I like it the best.
However, i am having a hard time figuring out info about the radio. The battery life doesnt seem to be the greatest. And my wifi signal strength is shockingly bad, or so it seems anyway.
Am i able to use a better radio with this rom? Can someone recommend something that will will work without any problems, but will be an actual improvement radio?
I've read the wiki, and have tried searching, but like a lot of other people, it almost overload of info. I would really appreciate it, im going out of town, and having this thing run at bettter performance would really make me happy.
I appreciate any recommendations!
ive been using the niki radio in my signature (downloadable in the wiki) in eastern us and have had no problems. letting everyone know where you are would help in recommending a radio
There are a whole bunch of radios, and there is no clear cut winner. As long as your radio is compatible with your rom, then you gotta test out of all the radios compatible with your rom, which one works the best.

to be honest dude radio performances vary by region; something that works great for me here in mclean, va USA probably might not work great for you. It really is just a lot of experimenting with different radios until you find one that gives you good reception and battery life. I believe that the stock htc rom is wm 6 so any wm6 radio will be compatible with the rom; just need to try, try, and try again to see what works best for you.
If you live around metro dc try the radio in my sig... but wait thats a windows mobile 6.1 radio so don't

My cellular reception is actually really nice! my main issue, is this: i live in a condo, and last night, i went out on my balcony. i was about 15 feet diagonally away from my linksys wrt54GL router, and i wasnt getting ANY wifi. the only thing seperating my phone and router was the wall.
gps signal seems great, with Garmin. Google maps however, i cant get to find a satellite to save my life!
So what everyone is saying is that noone really knows. Im in Miami using T-Mobile and i just installed HardSPL and it worked like a charm. Now i want to install a new rom and theres a bit too much info for me to untagle at this point. So far i gather that some rom's come with different and changable radio versions built in while others work with only 1 version. Now im curious.... how does one install and change these radio settings?
can i just download one and install it?
is there any thread or some sort of complied radio proformances by region? how do these radio versions differ by regional location? i have so many questions....

seems like everyone has got a radio question today but here is my answer to help u:
u need to flash a radio like u flash a rom. when u download a radio it has the customruu.exe w/ it. key is to remember one thing: wm6 roms work w/ wm6 radios and wm6.1 roms work w/ wm6.1 radio only. most roms will work with different radios unless the chef specifically has it matched to one radio only.
for more info plz read kaiser wiki.
p.s. while flashing radio ur phone has to be sync w/ pc
>> I have ended up going back to 1.56.405.5 (radio 1.27.12.11) standar HTC rom version. I like it the best
radios 1.27.xx.xx are the only that will be compatible with WM6.0 ROM. Newer 1.5x.xx.xx and 1.6x.xx.xx radios will cause the following issue:
You are going to lose multimedia sound completely: no ringtones, etc, etc.
In call sound will be likely still functional, but I don't belive that this is something you are looking forward to anyway.
I cannot recommend you the best radio for you ROM, but some would say that : 1.27.12.32 is the one.
I hope it helps.
I'm using dutty's rom WM6.1 WWE Rom. I havent changed the Radio yet. I've been using the ROM for about 2 months now and everything was working fine. But recently my phone won't ring. I can still make and receive calls though. Could the problem be because I haven't changed the Radio?
