Cant connect to gps

My XDAII wont connect to GPS. I have tomtom5 installed on my xdaII and have tried a BT GPS receiver and a wired one. It will ask you the device type unpon installation and then the port number.
no i dea which port to use and have tried then all anyway. I get a message no device connected. I cannot keep my BT device connect when i pair it either. Tried this on a XDAIIs aswell and exactly same prob.
Please help!!

i would try unchecking "recieve all beam files" in connections
to release com1
and try once more

Turn off beams releases com 1 for the wired gps. I think wired gps is the way to go if you need it for incar use only, I see far too many problems with bluetooth and if you have no sense of direction like me it is very annoying when the bluetooth decides to start acting stupid.

flashed new dutty rom on my tilt now for some reason i cant connect with activesync... when i plug in usb from pc phone charges but otherwise pc ignores it im using activesync 4.5

Have you tried rebooting your computeR?

yeah also tried soft reset on tilt

do u have any other system you can check with...maybe there is another app on your computer blocking it from syncing...the best way to tell if its the comptuer or the device is if u have another system running Activesync u can test on

tried on more then one pc....think its a windows mobile 2006 problem because mda and wing work fine

just try to reflash the rom...

UnCheck the USB to Pc enhance connection

cant reflash no usb connection to pc.... unchecked already still no difference ill uncheck and try a soft reset afterwards

flash from SDcard...

Hard reset may solve.. Try it..

Try using a different USB port.

ive tried soft rest hard reset 8 different usb ports 3 pc's no luck yet any other ideas

Did you find a fix?

Did you enable all comunication types (beam?) after i flashed Duttys rom i can't copy a file with usb and also send a file with bluetooth dosen't work. After enabling Beam in Comm Manager it works...

Thanks for the reply Pepe, all are enabled but still no luck.
It's strange, never had a problem till now.

Change the cable
Have you tried using a different USB sync cable? I've heard of that solving this type of problem. Having said that, if it is anything to do with your USB connection, the phone would sync via Bluetooth.

Hi Andrew, Yes I have, I have even tried it on three different PC's.
But the plot thickens, I now realise that I can't delete or copy files to either the PDA or the MC, I get the message "Access is Denied" so it looks like my problem might be something else?

Did you try turning off "advanced network functionality"?
I have a problem connecting via ActiveSync when advanced networking is enabled, so I turn it off every time I flash.
Settings... USB to PC... uncheck "Enable advanced network functionality"

Problem syncing with HTC Desktop Cradle

Hi,
Just bought the official cradle from HTC, plugged it into my PC, but it generally won't sync at all, or when it does it loses the connection again after a few minutes.
Most of the time, once connected, activesync will do nothing at all for about a minute, and then comes up with a dialog saying unable to connect
Also, the light around the touch sensitive button still illuminates to show that it's charging. So there's definitely a connection.
Any clues?

Can anyone help? I've added a bit more info which might help to diagnose.

I also got the original HTC desktop cradle and it works like a charm for me.
But what you could try is
Start -> Settings -> Tab Connections -> USB to PC and uncheck "Enable advanced network functionality".
This normally solves USB connection problems.

Hi DeepThought, have you got an answer for "Windows Mobile Device Center" sync with HTC Pro? I have got vista x64 and it won't sync with MS Outlook

Hi!
It just doesn't want to sync with outlook or it does not want to connect at all? If it doesn't want to connect at all: have you tried changing the setting above?

It connects & I could explore except that when I select device setup or sync, there when it triggers the error!

You could try to delete the WMDC Partnership when your TP is not connected and than reconnecting your phone. It should as you for a new partnership then and also give you the possibility so sync it with outlook.

Can't connect my pda to my pc??

Hi.
Im having trouble connecting my Solaris to my pc. Im running active sync 4.5 in xp on my pc and WM 6.0 (SWE). I can manage to connect my phone and pc with bluetooth (works pretty decent) but not with cable? This is a big problem since im in deperate need of a new rom. The phone is charging with cable and thats the only thing it does :S
Ive ran activesync troubleshooter with the result "Couldnt find a USB connection"
I did the thing that they suggested here without any result :S

have you tried other wire?
I had the same, and just by accident change the wire - and it starts works

Or you could try to reinstall ActiveSync.
But first try with other USB cable.

Try this
start -> settings -> connections -> usb to pc -> the disable advanced network functionality

Activesync problem

Hi.
When i connect my touch pro to my laptop my touch pro thinks he is charging. I tried another laptop/cabel/ROM but it doens't matter.
I can't get a connection with my phone.
Any idea's?

Don't you get asked, what to do, when you connect the TP to your laptop?
Maybe it connects as Harddisk? Do you get a removable device in your laptops file explorer after connecting?
Check settings of your TP in connections - USB to PC.

No, i don't get asked and the settings are good.
It's strange, because it is suddenly.

I had this problem last week and it turned out to be the cable I was using....but I guess you already tried that. How many cables you try? Maybe get another one and try it...

Well, i tried 3 different cables. The only thing i changed is the cable in my car. last week i was i Italy and by car charger has gone dead. And i buyed another one. that's all..

Anyone?...

Hard-reset, new ROM, new Radio... nothing helps

Reinstall activesync.
Try another laptop/computer.
Otherwise I don't know.

my phone sometimes just charges without activesync but that's only when i have wifi on 0.o if i turn wifi off then the phone syncs.

No luck... tried everything.

Well,I have similar issue with AS.
It starts suddenly and now I am unable to connect.
When I have enabled "Faster data synchronization",then the green icon keeps rotating for a while,but ends with an errormessage. When I uncheck it,AS absolutely doesn't see TP,no attempt.
My cable is working,because I am synchronizing also a HTC Hurricane(SDA2) without any problems.
I have also tried another PC,no luck,same symptoms.
Mass Storage and Internet sharing is working also perfectly.
Mainly I tought,that the IP connection is firewalled,but when it doesn't work also on another PC,that was working before,I have no more ideas.
