RSAP (VW) and Tom Tom - Touch Cruise General

Hi all
First post here so apologies if this has already been asked and answered...I haven't been able to find it.
I've just upgraded my O2 Orbit 1 for an O2 Orbit 2 to gain the remote sim access profile (rsap) that my VW Passat's hands-free system needs.
I also have Tom Tom Navigator on my Orbit 2.
Here's the question:
when my phone's paired with the car, I have no problems making or taking calls but when I switch on the Sat Nav, while the connection between the handset and the car doesn't appear to be lost, the phone signal is.
Anyone have any thoughts on this?
Thanks
John

Hi Guys,
I've got the same problem with my Artemis an the blutooth premium of my golf.
The pairing with the phone is lost when i switch on tomtom.
Did you find a solution ?

Same problem as Lolo and did not find any solution until now.

Use McGuider
As far as the problem comes from tomtom and not from the GPS usage, we can use other navigation software like McGuider. I have tested, and it works fine.
I asked tomtom about this problem but no matter the problem is within their software. They did not want to know anything about it because their sofware continues working (is the rsap who goes down).

MDA2 and TomTom

Hi,
does anybody know, if the TomTom Navigator work on an MDA2. I've got my MDA2 since monday and i am not able to get TomTom Navigator (Version2 incl. the newest Updates) running. The installation-process works fine, but if I start the installed software, I get the lovely circling wheel in the middle of the screen...and that's all...hmmm...so, does anybody got a working installation of tomtom2 on an MDA2 or an XDA2 ???
Next question:
Does anybody have experiences with a Bluetooth-GPS-Mouse on a MDA2 (maybe this question is not very important, if the answer of the question above will be nefative ;-)
greets from frankfurt / germany
roberto
There's a thread on Bluetooth GPS and the XDA II/MDA II (http://xda-developers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3341)
in which there is an answer to both your questions.
Haven't seen anything new lately on either topic:
- Tom Tom with any kind of GPS
- Bluetooth GPS
I had the same problem, then I tried a different SD (128 instead of 256) card for map storage and it works. I remember TomTom having the same problems with Ipaq 5450’s until HP issued a fix.
I’ve just ordered a Bluetooth GPS.. Looks like I’ve got more problems ahead.

Please keep us informed, regardless if the Bluetooth GPS fails or not..
By the way: I read a review of the new Toshiba E800 PDA (which has a 480x640 screen  and beautiful indigo color (finally something else)) and the author mentioned testing the PDA with a Rikaline Bluetooth GPS receiver.
At first, he had difficulties connecting the Toshiba and the Rikaline, but managed to solve it by setting TomTom to 'Bluetooth Card' instead of 'COM6'.....
Might be worth a try :?:
Take care :!:
There is no 'Bluetooth Card' setting on Navigator 2.
I still can't get it to work.
Help!

 I guess it has to do with the Bluetooth Manager of the Toshiba then...
Nothing left but wait for Tom Tom updates and more MDA2 Bluetooth profiles
Somebody101, will you try something, install maps to main memory and see if that works, I know you can only install a portion but I would be interested to hear the results.

XDAII and Tom Tom Navigator

I have recently installed Tom Tom Navigator 3 on my XDAII but whenever the telephone software is switched on, i.e flight mode off, the thing crashes and needs re-booting very frequently and every time a call or text is received. I have updated the software for the XDAII and for Tom Tom but without success. The only way Tom Tom will work is with the flight mode on which means no calls. Has anybody else experienced this and found a solution.
I use an XDAII, TTN3 and a BT GPS daily without any issues. What GPS have you got and what SD Card?
Depends on what version of TTN3 you have. If you have a fully purchased one you will be able to download and install 3.07 which removes these kind of problems - 3.07 I believe specifically cures those issues.
If you have an....ahem...acquired....version of the program, you may experience problems. I also have a BT GPS but don't generally experience any probs apart from the old "showPOIequalslockups".
Cheers

Using XDA11i with Bluetooth Tom Tom and Bluetooth Headset

Hey everyone
I wonder if someone can help.
Having recently got my XDA11i and managed to pair my Sony Ericcson Bluetooth headset sucessfully. I thought i would go the whole nice yards and get myself sat navigation for the car.
Having now got the tom tom reciever and again sucessfully pairing it to my XDA11i using the tom tom set up wizard, my sony ericcson headset now refuses to connect to my xda.
can anybody help as I am really at a loss as to what I can try to solve this problem.
upgrade BT
Hi, you need to upgrade your BT version to build 3900.
It worked on my M2000
http://www.pdanieuws.nl/modules/mydownloads/singlefile.php?lid=37
Thanks for That
Thanks for the advice Rayman. i have downloaded the patch you suggest however i dont know how to install it on my xda. if you could pleaase help i would be most grateful
Surely it's a case of sticking it on your phone and then, on your phone, tapping on the cab file?
On this topic...
I've historically had problems with Tomtom running and getting a call, both on XDA2 and now XDA2i. Normally what happens is that the call bubble appears but none of the "buttons" on the bubble work, and then TT crashed.
HOWEVER
I was on my way home the other day and for a laugh I turned on TT to tell me the way to go . I got a call from my girlfriend and so I flipped the boom on my Motorola HS810 and waited for it to pair up, then answered the call. It worked, and better yet, when I hung up the call TT hadn't frozen! Made my night, but then I live a sad life
Cheers

I had this very same problem.
Downloading and installing the latest Tom Tom GPS update solved it.
Also, check that you dont have a port conflict (this is what Tom Tom told me to do).

Himalaya 3.5 - TT6 - BT

I've tried both Helmis and Ibashas 3.5 ROMS and they are brilliant, but I have one issue with both that I cannot solve.
How do I configure TT6 with BT GPS - I also use a BT headset.
Tried to follow the "old" TT5 manual for Universal and TT5 from this forum, but I cannot select outgoing port to 8.
I've tried outgoing port to 4 and program port 5 and it works ok.
Problem arises when I pair my BT headset also, if it is switched on, when I start TT there is no connection to the GPS, and consequently TT cannot find any satelittes.
Switch off the headset and restart TT and everything is fine again.
A few times it has happened that I get the BT pairing dialog box up after a while with TT started (headset on!) and has entered the passkey again.
So I wonder what settings I should use to be able to use both BT headset and TT6 with a BT antenna, anyone seen/solved this??????
I've tried 2 dif. BT headsets and 2 diff. GPS mice with both ROMS.
Best regards
/Henrik
Nobody experienced this or know how to solve it?
Waiting....
Ok, so nobody knows?
I will try on Buzznet then.

I read in tom tom website, tom tom 6 is not compatible with all device. For example in my case, I use O2 XDA II . Unfortunately tom tom 6 doesn't work with my device so I still use tom tom 5.21
Actually TT6 works exceptionally well with your device, which is the same as mine! - If it wasn't for this BT headset issue that is, it actually think it runs faster and smoother than it does on my JasJar!
But if you want to run it in landscape mode, you have to have either WM 2003 2. edition or even better WM5 in order to be able to use landscape (TT6 doesn't have that facility anymore).
And then you get the issue with the BT headset, which I reckon someone must know how to solve, even if it is a bit strange, nobody gives me any answers, not here and not on XDA-Developpers.
I would so much like to know if this is a known issue with this device and WM5, or if it is too trivial a question for anyone to bother to answer??????

TomTom 6 works perfectly on my xda 2, you are obviously on about the backlight issue, which can be fixed easily
Ok, but can you use a BT headset also?????

Since v1.60c my bluetooth second binding is distorted

Since v1.60c my bluetooth second binding/connection is distorted.
In the car, first my TomTom gps binds and connect perfect and then my carkit Parrot 3100 binds and connect perfect. But when i make a phonecall, the line is very distorted. Some buzz is on the line.
And if i change the sequence, by first binding the carkit, and after that trying to bind the TomTom gps. The gps will not bind at all.
The last version that worked correct was the version 1.60c
Somebody with the same experience?
PS. is it possible to extract the Bluetooth files from the v1.60c version and save on the latest versions?
Gps & Parrot Together With Wm2k5 : Bluetooth Incompatibility ??
Same happens to me.
I'm experiencing this problem since I upgraded from WM2003SE.
Every WM2K5 ROM I've tryied does the same.
If once gps and parrot both are binded, you go to bluetooth settings/devices/and you disable hands free service, wait for few seconds and enable it again, then the parrot should work with no trouble.
It's the only that works to me...I have to do it every time I get in my car.
If somebody has the solution I would apreciate.
FRANCESC
Yes, it works for me too. But it isn't a beautiful way to connect!
Somebody know what this could be?
hi
could the both of you with the parrot 3100 please tell me:
.) does it sync the phonebook with pda's contacts?
.) does it show the name of the incoming call?
.) does it show mobile providers net status (=strenght)
if not: have you tried www.jetwaremobile.com ? does it work with that "enhancement"?
thanks!
regards ize|man
I will try!
Thanks for this information, I'll try.

Not working for me!
I think that I'm suffering with the same problem. I used to use a Nokia CK-1W for hands free and a iBlue BT GPS with Tomtom6 on my Jasjam/Dopod/Hermes and had no problems whatsoever. I've just changed the car and have fitted a Parrot CK3100 (FW 1.6C) and I can no longer connect to hands free and the GPS at the same time.
If I bind to the GPS first everything is fine until I attempt to pair with the Parrot. Upon pairing synchronisation starts and then for some reason the bloody thing starts to make a call!!! The phone doesn't recognise that it's calling, it's just the kit doing it. Once paired and synched the GPS connection is killed.
If I bind to the Parrot first I have no bizarre calling issues but I am unable to locate the GPS device.
What the hell? Have I bought a turkey?
Anyone with a suggestion as to how to fix it?

so. none of these three questions is answered with YES? does it work out-of-the-box?
so if i get you right: there is no way to sync my contacts with the 3100?
thanks ize|man
I mean it's not solving my problem
Didn't solve mine either. In fact, it made it worse! I still have all the connection problems but in addition, the battery meter no longer shows on the Parrot. Uninstalling jetware returned the meter.
