XDAII and Tom Tom Navigator - General Topics

I have recently installed Tom Tom Navigator 3 on my XDAII but whenever the telephone software is switched on, i.e flight mode off, the thing crashes and needs re-booting very frequently and every time a call or text is received. I have updated the software for the XDAII and for Tom Tom but without success. The only way Tom Tom will work is with the flight mode on which means no calls. Has anybody else experienced this and found a solution.

I use an XDAII, TTN3 and a BT GPS daily without any issues. What GPS have you got and what SD Card?

Depends on what version of TTN3 you have. If you have a fully purchased one you will be able to download and install 3.07 which removes these kind of problems - 3.07 I believe specifically cures those issues.
If you have an....ahem...acquired....version of the program, you may experience problems. I also have a BT GPS but don't generally experience any probs apart from the old "showPOIequalslockups".
Cheers
Anthony

XDA2i-Tom Tom Bluetooth GPS-Plantronics Bluetooth earpiece

Hi Guys
I have an XDA2i as follows:
Rom - 1.10.00 WWE
Radio 1.00.00
Protocol 1337.39
Extrom 1.10.124 WWE
When I install the bluetooth earpiece it works fine until I install the Tom Tom software when the bluetooth GPS works great but I get an error when I try to conect to the earpiece (connection failed or something like that). If I uninstall the Tom Tom the earpiece works again. I've tried a different earpiece and I get the same error.
In otherwords I cant get the tom tom bluetooth GPS and the bluetooth earpiece working at the same time or even just when tom tom is installed and not running.
Anyone know where I am going wrong here?
A quick update for you all...
Tom Tom customer suport finally answered my query and suggested that I might have a port conflict....well the GPS receiver is port 6 but I don;t know what port the earpiece uses and dont know how to find out...perhaps someone could let me know.
Anyway, I had a blunder about and finally downloaded the latest Tom Tom GPS update which after a few resets (4 or 5) seems to have resolved the problem.
One other slight problem, well inconvenience is that when I install tom tom I get duplicate and occasionally triplicate short cuts in the programs menu......Its no biggy cos I jus delete them via file manager still it would be nice to know why this happens
Anyone know?

XDA2i, What Sat Nav to use

I have been trying without luck to get Tom Tom 3 BT to work on my XDA2i when using a BT headset.
As many of you will know this means frequenct lock ups and resets.
Tom Tom's latest response to me is as follows:
Dear Mr *****,
TomTom are only able to offer support to devices that are on our comatibility list.
The XDA IIi is not compatible with either TomTom Navigator 3 or 5.
I'm very sorry but we can not be of further assistance to you with this incompatible PDA.
With best regards,
The TomTom Customer Support Team
Nice one Tom Tom, perhaps this should have been mentioned when I bought the software huh?
So my question is this. What Sat Nav package works on the XDA2i. I have a BT GPS receiver and wish to use a BT headset when driving

I-Mate SP5 and GPS software

what is the best GPS software to run on i-mate SP5? Did any body has any commments on iGuidance software?
Thanks
I don't know about best but Tom Tom for me - no problems
Did you have to install an additional plug in for Tom Tom in order to have it running on i-mate SP5? I heared you have to switch your phone on and off every time you use it!!
No plugins and don't have to switch the phone on/off to use it, although i did have to install the 5.2 update, runs perfect mate.

Himalaya 3.5 - TT6 - BT

I've tried both Helmis and Ibashas 3.5 ROMS and they are brilliant, but I have one issue with both that I cannot solve.
How do I configure TT6 with BT GPS - I also use a BT headset.
Tried to follow the "old" TT5 manual for Universal and TT5 from this forum, but I cannot select outgoing port to 8.
I've tried outgoing port to 4 and program port 5 and it works ok.
Problem arises when I pair my BT headset also, if it is switched on, when I start TT there is no connection to the GPS, and consequently TT cannot find any satelittes.
Switch off the headset and restart TT and everything is fine again.
A few times it has happened that I get the BT pairing dialog box up after a while with TT started (headset on!) and has entered the passkey again.
So I wonder what settings I should use to be able to use both BT headset and TT6 with a BT antenna, anyone seen/solved this??????
I've tried 2 dif. BT headsets and 2 diff. GPS mice with both ROMS.
Best regards
/Henrik
Nobody experienced this or know how to solve it?
Waiting....
Ok, so nobody knows?
I will try on Buzznet then.

I read in tom tom website, tom tom 6 is not compatible with all device. For example in my case, I use O2 XDA II . Unfortunately tom tom 6 doesn't work with my device so I still use tom tom 5.21
Actually TT6 works exceptionally well with your device, which is the same as mine! - If it wasn't for this BT headset issue that is, it actually think it runs faster and smoother than it does on my JasJar!
But if you want to run it in landscape mode, you have to have either WM 2003 2. edition or even better WM5 in order to be able to use landscape (TT6 doesn't have that facility anymore).
And then you get the issue with the BT headset, which I reckon someone must know how to solve, even if it is a bit strange, nobody gives me any answers, not here and not on XDA-Developpers.
I would so much like to know if this is a known issue with this device and WM5, or if it is too trivial a question for anyone to bother to answer??????

Click to collapse
TomTom 6 works perfectly on my xda 2, you are obviously on about the backlight issue, which can be fixed easily
Ok, but can you use a BT headset also?????

RSAP (VW) and Tom Tom

Hi all
First post here so apologies if this has already been asked and answered...I haven't been able to find it.
I've just upgraded my O2 Orbit 1 for an O2 Orbit 2 to gain the remote sim access profile (rsap) that my VW Passat's hands-free system needs.
I also have Tom Tom Navigator on my Orbit 2.
Here's the question:
when my phone's paired with the car, I have no problems making or taking calls but when I switch on the Sat Nav, while the connection between the handset and the car doesn't appear to be lost, the phone signal is.
Anyone have any thoughts on this?
Thanks
John
Hi Guys,
I've got the same problem with my Artemis an the blutooth premium of my golf.
The pairing with the phone is lost when i switch on tomtom.
Did you find a solution ?
Same problem as Lolo and did not find any solution until now.
Use McGuider
As far as the problem comes from tomtom and not from the GPS usage, we can use other navigation software like McGuider. I have tested, and it works fine.
I asked tomtom about this problem but no matter the problem is within their software. They did not want to know anything about it because their sofware continues working (is the rsap who goes down).
