does anyone know if this is normal after I flashed my tilt with AT&T Test ROM, the first boot screen changed to "For Test Only, Not For Sale...." but when I flashed the device back to an earlier HTC ROM, the Test Only screen is still there.

Problems
I noticed that you started two threads for issues that are clearly covered in the Sticky with GWENI.
Both problems can be resolved fairly quickly with a trip down to the ONLY STICKY in this subforum.

Both the downgrade issue and the keyboard issues have been discussed many times.

I guess I was more looking to find the root cause...which I think I found....it's ROM specific, then I flashed the tilt to the Test rom, the splash screen came up, when I flashed it back to original ROM, it didn't go away but when I flashed it with TNT rom, it changed to the TNT splash screen.
like I said in my earlier post about the other issuewith the keyboard, I tried the fix but it didn't work and I couldn't find the answer (didn't know that it could be ROM specific that the keyboard fix works with some roms it doesn't with others)...not sure why you are you yelling by using caps, i would recommend not replying at all instead of being angry.
The root cause is, not all ROMs contain splash screens. Therefore, the last splash screen you flashed is left on your device.
If you have additional questions, please post them in the ROM splash screen flashing thread. This thread is redundant and is now closed.

I've flashed L26 and now dutty rom, but even after flashing dutty, my phone displays the L26 startup image. Any idea how to remove it?
I had the same deal. I wanted the deathstar start up. So I flashed that on mine. works perfect.
Look up how to flash a splash screen. you should not of created a thread for this man. THis is elementary. Please search next time.

Ok, apologies if it's basic stuff, I just was under the impression there were 2 areas to flash, radio, and OS, and that by flashing those I'd get a splash screen, I didn't know that a rom could be flashed leaving the original intact.
Thanks for the info.
you can make your own too
I have a picture of my daughter on mine

Splash Screen located in the WIKI
I downloaded the unlocker, did exactly as what it said, and after I flashed w/ the patched radio I cannot enter the system!
The screen is dark after the AT&T 3g animation, and no response.
But I can use the original AT&T rom to flash it back.
Anyone know a solution?

I did exactly as what it told and I have tried several times.
Go to that thread and ask there....okay ? you will get a better response there.
Ok here goes. Be nice, I'm new...
I have a Stellar in front of me (or Kaiser, TyTynII etc) which has managed to get itself into Boot Loader. I'm usually pretty good at getting these out of it but this one has me stumped, and I'm hoping someone may be able to give me some suggestions, or confirm my suspicions that it is kaput.
It's in Serial mode at the moment, showing
KAIS130
SPL-1.82.0000
CPLD-8
on the top of the screen.
So I plugged it into the computer and it nicely popped into USB mode which then let me flash it, using the file: RUU_Kaiser_O2_UK_1.82.206.1_radio_sign_22.45.88.07_1.27.12.32_Ship
This appeared to take, started the process, splash screen loaded, windows mobile loaded OK and for all intents and purposes was back at the factory reset (which is what I wanted). HOWEVER.....when I performed a soft reset it went back into Boot Loader and I'm now back at square one.
Any ideas? I can't install any homebrew ROMs on this, it HAS to be the standard ROM for reasons I'm not at liberty to post here (don't worry nothing illegal is going on, suffice to say, I shouldn't really be here!)
I have at least 2 others that are doing similar as well and would like to get these fixed also. All help/comments gratefully received and I apologise again if this is covered somewhere else.
It seems you have not done any SPL hard flashing yet.
Did you really read the Flashing for Noob sticky ? It's there .. first you need to do hard SPL, SIM/CID Unlock, then only you can change your ROM to anything.
Please go back and re-read.
Sorry. Will this do anything bad to the device, only I've never done anything like that before, I've just run the ROM flash file. I've never had to do anything like you suggested before. It needs to be put back to factory as it is going to get allocated to someone - which means I then have to install a clone over the top of this.....sorry if I'm being thick. I did read the document you suggested but that resulted in me getting more confused.
If this is not the right place for me to be, please feel free to close this thread and I'll keep looking elsewhere. Cheers.
Hi,
First of all: what do you want to do? Read this to clarify your intention
Take your time, read through the WIKI first.
After that, if you still want to flash, go to the Noob sticky.
If you don't have the passion, I'd suggest just use the phone as from factory. Reading the Wiki still will give you insight and many good tips/tricks without flashing.
Edit to addI apologize.
After re-reading again, it seems that what you're trying to do is reviving the dead Kaiser. From the SPL version, it's not yet 6.1. You can check out here to see any other official ROM matches, which what you currently use seemed to be correct.
Mod, please merge this with Kaiser stuck at Bootloader thread ..
Good luck.
Edit 2
It seems that when you did a soft reset (by pushing at the small hole using stylus?), the other two buttons (camera + power) are still pressed (or due to hardware, kept being pressed), thus resulting in boot loader displayed again?
Well that's why I couldn't work out why I couldn't get the ROM to stay.....this has never happened before! So yes, I am trying to revive a seemingly busted Kaiser. The customer handed it to me in Boot Loader mode. Usually running the RUU fixes this and we can then go about rebuilding it. However in this case it really doesn't want the factory ROM but I need it to! I can quite easily get it into USB mode and flash it by running the .exe file on my desktop - but then that's about all I can do. I can't give it back to the customer as the next time he performs a soft reset or switches it off, it'll be back in Boot Loader...ARGH!
Oh, and apology accepted!
And another thing, I just tried running the exe file again and got as far as the screen alignment and the poxy thing just locked....cue soft reset and back to Boot Loader. Me not happy.
Edit: A quick check of the Hardware and all the buttons appear to be OK - nothing looks like it's stuck down
If you want to take the looooong road, perhaps you can do flashing Hard SPL, unlock SIM/CID and then flashing any other ROM/Radio. Once you get a stable working device, you can flash back the OEM using this method
I'm not sure if this custom RUU can help: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=334890
I haven't tried that, so it's just an idea for now.

If you are still having problems with the bootloader check out my sticky.
If you need help with the flashing process check out mskip's sticky.
Only create a new thread for new issues that have not been discussed before.
Good luck

OK, I too skim read (I read a lotta threads ).

Hi everyone,
So I updated the stock SPL back to my phone while having a CDMA rom on my device. Looks not like a problem at all, but appearantly it is when your phone is not a CDMA rom After that the phone won't boot anymore.
Since then I am not able to update my device to ANY rom, not even the stock rom. The updater keeps giving me the famous 262 error and hangs at 0% of the update. XDA-user orfeo_b has messaged me a while ago that he had a task29 program for windows 7 to format my phone. But he didn't respond to my message. So my question is: is there anybody who has this program for my phone? and if not, is there any other possibility to empty/format my phone?
Why did you create two threads in the same forum? (THREAD LINK)
You not want to post HERE, did you even bother to do any searching in HERE
You do know the FUZE is GSM, correct?

sorry, a second after saving I realised that my topic was a question so I posted the topic again accidentally.. I searched the whole forum for weeks but didn't find any solution. As I said, I accidentally flashed a CDMA rom to my GSM phone.
User benjamminzIS started the thread HERE
Perhaps give that a once or twice over and see if it works for you. Be sure to leave some feed back if it does!
Additionally, I must confess that I skimmed your post because you posted twice and didn't think anything of it after the fact. So I apologize if I came off slightly rude. Was not my intent!
There's a pretty good chance your phone is dead now. Flashing the stock spl after bricking your phone with a cdma rom is probably the worst thing you could have done. What were you thinking? With the stock spl, you can't flash task 29, or anything, for that matter. I guess you can try flashing hard spl, but you have to keep in mind that this 'stock spl' is not in fact the real stock spl (it's a patched stock spl that is capable of over-writing the hard spl). I'm not sure if it can be over-written with hard spl; I guess you'll find out. If you had read any of the posts on reverting to stock for warranty purposes, you would have seen that the absolute last step is flashing the 'stock spl', because once you do that, the device is locked.
Now, if you also flashed a cdma 'stock spl', then you can definitely throw the phone away.
Ok before I get skewered by the tenured members of this esteemed site, I just wanted to say that I did my research as many of you suggested, and I feel like I've read every thread about the following topic to no avail, my phone is in the same state, I digress;
Like many on here before me, I have been handed the "white screen of death" on my HTC Inspire 4G. Some call it a soft brick, even though that's a frowned upon term. Either way, I have it and I'd really like to get rid of it. I can access my Hboot no problem, my phone is S-OFF, so that's not an issue. I tried running an RUU on here to update the image, but when it rebooted, the HTC white screen of death reappeared. Tried running the PD98IMG.ZIP image and reflashing a custom pre-rooted stock rom, didn't work.
Threads I've tried:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1286832
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1390677
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1396229
These were the three that ware most similar to the problem I had I felt like, yet neither had the solution I was looking for. Clearly, the phone isn't bricked since I can get into the HBoot, but besides that, I'm stuck. For all I know, I'm a complete idiot and missing a vital step, but I'm almost at my wits end and I really just need my smartphone back. Any assistance, regardless of how condescending it may be, will be received with immense gratification if it indeed helps my problem. Thank you, and please help me .
And little more info, please. Can you get into recovery from hboot? If so, is it a stock or custom recovery? What version of hboot are you running?
This thread will probably be moved to Q&A. Stick with it and we will try to help.

Can you get into recovery? If not, follow the Ace Think Tank guide on post #7 starting on the bottom of page 9, the section "S-OFF no recovery," to get a recovery back; then use that recovery to flash a ROM. If so, just flash a ROM from recovery.
