Outlook on Mobile - HTC Vox

hi guys, this seems to be some strange problem to me. I configured my office mail to Outlook on mobile. Now when i delete any message it gets deleted from the mail server as well. I thought that my VOX will maintain its own local copy and i can delete the mail to save some space on my cell. Can u tell me how to keep messages in a location that when i delete them the original message on server remains intact.
By the way same happens with my Gmail account too..
Thanks
Loku
PS: all cheers to Dr. G for his great work....

For gmail it goes like this on WM 6.1:
Go into gmail folder -> Menu -> Tools -> Options -> Account Settings -> Send/Recive Schedule -> Advanced Settings
There you have option to Keep deleted messages on server.
Don't know how to do it for outlook but it should be similar.

Hotmail

Is there a way to disable Hotmail within the Wizard / WM5.
I am angry at the fact it downloaded all my messages - without asking me. Now I want them gone and not to come back.
I do not want it ever to check my hotmail..... I do that on the web.
Anyone?
I think you can do that through...
Start > Settings > MSN Options > [Switch User] > *Yes*
Now next time you'd want to MSN / user Hotmail, you'll have to sign in again - this will also clear your current Hotmail e-mail on the device. (Hotmail should not even be an option under Menu > Switch Accounts anymore)
If you want to JUST disable Hotmail, and not MSN - no idea Haven't tried anything like that.
Would they not just come back though when I resign in?
yep - hence what I pointed out... don't sign into MSN
If you want to disable *just* Hotmail; no idea how to.
Personally I don't use MSN - most of the people I know are available through IRC, so I use PocketIRC
Well, I've told it not to download *new* ones and wiped my inbox into an archive...
Stupid GPRS charges...

WM and forced Outlook E-Mail?

Hey all,
I'm pretty satisfied with my Touch Pro and there is a small point Maybe someone here knows the answer...
I use activesync on the phone and Windows Mobile Device Center on my desktop, to sync everything except e-mail because I have a full email bundle with my telco so I poll mail on my phone as well as on my desktop, leaving email on the server. That way I'm always aware of email I receive.
Now, when I put an appointment in my calendar on my phone and I invite someone to that appointment, it wants to send that person an email. The problem is that it tries to do that via the Outlook E-Mail account which I don't have and the messages just stay in the Outlook E-Mail outbox forever.
I can't find any setting on my phone, to change the default account used to send these emails.
Does anyone here know how to get this working the way I want?
Grtz,
Patrick
Go to calendar -> tools -> options
Go to the appointments tab and select your desired account under 'Send meeting requests via'
Thanks, it turns out to be a very simply solution

Removing Messenger contacts from Contacts/All People Tab

Ok so I've been doing a lot of searching but can’t seem to find the answer.
When I set up Windows Live I accidently said yes to having my contacts list in my phone's contact list.
I didn't want this so I was going through the list manually and deleting them one by one. Little did I know I was also deleting them from my MSN My fault, I know, I'm an idiot! I have had the phone for about a month now and had it set so the MSN contacts were not in the contacts list. I flashed a new ROM and that was why I had to set it up again s I didn't realize that deleting these would have any effect on anything else.
So now I'm trying to remove the MSN contacts from the phone contacts but I can't seem to work out how. In the Windows Live "Options" I can see under #2 Sync options, there is an option to "Store Windows Live contacts in your mobile phones contact list" but I'm not able to select it to change the settings.
Anyone able to assist? I'm sure it's something simple that I’ve missed but I can't seem to work it out
Thanks in advance..
Delete your hotmail account from the phone. Go back and set up hotmail again and this time do not check "add my hotmail contacts to my adress book" option. It will not say it exactly like that but you will know what i am talking about. I had to hard reset mine to get rid of 100s of email adresses in my phone contact book. Little did i know
if you find that windows live mobile wont let you remove email contacts from your phone contacts list because the check box is greyed out, and you cant seem to delete your email account from your phone, go to windows live > menu > account options > switch windows live ID > Yes
now just re-setup with the same hotmail account details and dont check-the contacts sync boxes this time. Worked for me. so happy now.

Thanks man, I ended up working it out. I just cleared the Windows Live account and started over again. Something I should have realized to do before posting
Thanks for a tip, it helps me a lot
No need to re-install it again

Help..E650 > ActiveSync > Deleted Items > Lost

Hi all,
Looking for some help please...
My E650 is running Microsoft Exchange email through ActiveSync. That all works fine...
Problem is everytime it syncs my work emails it also clears all my Deleted Items from the text message folder.
Any ideas how to stop it?
Is there an official Exchange or ActiveSync group i could try for an answer?
nobody got any ideas?
to recap...when my handset syncs through Activesync (Exchange Mail) it deletes all my texts/mails from my 'deleted items' folder.
Not just all email folders but also SMS deleted too...

Can't find sent emails

Since upgrading to the 1.72 ROM on T- Mobile, emails that I send are not been stored in the sent items folder. This has happen in both my Hotmail & Outlook accounts.
Anyone else having this problem?
Inbox emails keep deleting and i cant find sent emails
someone please help.... my inbox emails just delete on their own and when i send an email i dont know where its being saved at ... someone please help...
In case you aren't using outlook, but a webmail client (imap4 or pop3, like GMail)
Go to inbox -> right softkey (menu) -> Tools (third from bottom) -> Manage folders
[V] Check checkbox send items
These will now sync with your emailclient
PS: Managing folders is not possible during send/receive, so you might want to disable / cancel this during config.
I couldnt find the tools tab in my email settings.....
