Live Messenger and HSDPA - General Topics

I am running Windows Live Messenger 10.6.34.0800 and have problems connecting when using HSDPA. The first time I try to sign in I get the error message "There's a connectivity problem. Make sure you're in an area with good reception and try again".
I have to click on retry to successfully sign in. Also, I need to click on retry straight away. If I wait a few seconds it still wont work. Does anyone have an idea why it takes two tries to sign in to Messenger? No problems with WiFi or Bluetooth connection, just HSDPA. Im running the HTC Polaris and I have a PAYG 3 UK sim card.
Thanks!

CROSSBOW GPRS issue

The GPRS is alway connectioning. It seems like every time I have to use something that uses the internet the connection bubble shows. I thought my phone was always connected on the internet. I still do not has MMS working. Have input the the server info but it always displays error synorizing when I click send/receive.
Which cell provider do you have? With T-Mobile and my G4 running Faria's latest I only stay connected to an Edge link when I am using it. Otherwise it disconnects until I need it again.
As for the MMS, I could help you with the settings if you have T-Mobile. I was able to get mine sending and receiving fine. I still have that small picture size issue, though.

I have the same issue! But my just connects with GPRS and turns on the display that is off. Realy annoying..I use Comviq in sweden.

Please help wi Pro B4 I return it.

Hi folks,
Please can someone help.
I got my new Pro on Friday and it really is a nice phone. I am on T-Mobile UK and subscribe to web n walk plus.
Like others in the forum the signal strengh is [email protected] wi T-Mobile yet put sim in any other phone and it's fine.
OK, my problem. The phone configured itself to T-Mobile and setup picture message and gprs/3g settings. I can browse net on phone via pocket IE or Opera.
Now if I try to sign in via Windows Live to get my email or configure Activesync to our companies mail server I get the G and flashing arrow but then the program I'm trying to use says it cant find an internet connection.
Switch on WiFi and go through that and it's fine. Take sim out and put it in my cooked Trinity P3600 running Diamond 3.1 on win mobile 6.1 and everything works. I've tried my sim in a T-Mobile branded Diamond and it works.
I've tried various locations, one being 6 feet away from the cell to no avail. Tried my work sim in it (also T-Mobile) and same happens so what can I do to get it to work.
Connection setup as T-Mobile Internet. Cellular Line (gpgs, 3G), general.t-mobile.uk, username T-mobile password one2oneuser.
Can anyone help.
Thanks.
John
I had the exact same problem. The Auto-Config wizard thing has changed slightly and now seems to set up the connection with the usage of a proxy server.
You need to uncheck this and all will be well. Don't return that sucker just yet!

Thanks mate,
I have unticked the box but will need to wait for T-Mobile signal to come back before I can test it. Why is this phone soooo poor with T-Mobile. I get 3 bars on my Trinity at home.

Hrm, I have noticed a slight drop in reception compared to my Kaiser but it's not that bad where I am. I am in London though so I guess coverage is pretty good. Also, I have noticed GPS reception is a little off too compared to the Kaiser. I'm thinking as some more ROMs start appearing with new Radios we will see some improvements. It depends if you are willing to wait or not. The device itself is great, there's no doubting that. Give it time. I am sure things will get better.
Ok, unticking allows work email to work but I cant get Windows Live to work.
Looking at the settings on my old Trinity it has the proxy set.
Thanks,
John
That's weird.
It's all working perfectly here, on T-Mo too (UK).

"wait 15 seconds error messege"

i installed a new sim and it wont let me send a message it tells me that i have to wait 15 seconds
i tried the sim on another phone and it works fine
i tried a different sim on the the phone and it works fine
i gave it a reset both hard and soft and still no luck
please help
ok another question that might solve my problem
when i click on connecion wizard i only get two networks for my country and this is a new mobile company
how do i add networks?
It should autodetect what provider you are using from your sim. The 15 second error message comes from when the phone is starting up. If your having trouble detecting your network you might wanna try a different radio.
i tried but still no luck
and there is no help on the internet anywhere
Check the website of your provider, send them an e-mail or call them.
(My crystal ball doesn't show me your country and provider )

whatsapp problem

this app worked on my previous android phone
can anyone help ?
Haven't ran into this issue with my reinstall . It did not however send my phone the text I hit send and it acted like it was sending but went past it saying it was verified and let me in the program.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA App
anyone else ?
No problems with whatsapp whatsoever. Been using it a LOT.
Only problem with Whatsapp for me is that most contact photos do not show, despite being 'linked'. May try to reinstall if I get annoyed enough.
No issues here. I rely on it heavily. Runs just as flawlessly as it did on my iPhone.
I would suggest just trying it from a different location... Sometimes getting in range of a new tower fixes little data issues like that for me. Or try it on Wifi. Or if you were on Wifi, try it on data network... I think you get the idea
Only issue I have with Whatsapp is sometimes it like refuses to refresh whether the contact is online or not and shows them as "Last seen......" and won't push texts through when I know for a fact the person is online. Annoying, as I will send a text expecting it to go through only to look at my phone half an hour later wondering why the person hasn't texted back only to discover a single check by my message

Not being able to use WhatsApp is no fun, so if you are having trouble connecting, keep reading. To start, there are many reasons why you may not be able to connect to WhatsApp, so we have listed a few of the most common reasons.
The most common reason why you cannot connect to WhatsApp is because your phone is not connected to the internet.
To ensure you have a working internet connection, check the following:
You have a data plan on your carrier's network or a Wi-Fi connection with internet access.
Make sure the signal strength for Wi-Fi or data network is good and that the phone is connected to the network.
Open a webpage in your phone browser to see if it loads. If it loads, your phone is connected to the internet!
Reboot your phone.
If you cannot connect to the internet through your Wi-Fi network, try connecting to a different Wi-Fi network or connecting over your phone's data network.
If you can open webpages and run other applications that connect to the internet on your phone, but WhatsApp will still not connect, try deleting and reinstalling WhatsApp. Learn how to reinstall WhatsApp on: Android | BlackBerry | iPhone | Nokia
If you can connect to other applications on your data network, but not WhatsApp, it could be that your mobile provider has configured your wireless access points to block certain chat applications.
Try this if WhatsApp still will not work on data only:
Contact your mobile provider and ask them about different access point settings to run chat apps.
They will guide you through a process in which you will manually configure your data network and web settings.
-------------------------------
Thats what I did and it worked, also try the last step of changing your access point !
Finally!!!!
Check your access point ie APN
I was facing same issues when I checked access point it was different from what I normally use. I changed it and it works fine now

[Q] Nexus 5 wont get 3g internet but will 2g internet

Hey there,
I have a nexus 5 for about an month now. Just got the OTA to 4.4.3.
Everything seemed to be working perfect. But now i have a mobile network problem.
I can connect to 3G network. It says i'm connected but when i try to load a webpage for ex. google.com.
Nothing happens. It trys to load it but after 1 minute it says no internet connection. I can even send whatsapp messages when connected to 3G.
This all changes when i change to 2G everything works then but is really slow, but thats normal with 2G.
I cant try to connect to 4G because it is not available in my region.
Could someone please help me?
EDIT: There was a problem with the celluar tower nearby. I got it fixed now!
