hi
You need to break the rom image down.
When you run the upgrade, it will extract files to your temporary location, browse to this folder and you will find the romupgrade utility as well as the nk.nbf and ms.nbf. Replace the ms.nbf with the extended rom version that you wish to use in this temp directory and then continue the flash process.
If you are unable to find the temp location that the files textract too, then simply flash the original rom, then reboot the device, enter back into bootloader and flash only the extended rom that you wish to use.

help pls how can i go back to small storage after upgrading

hello
i have a big storage after i burn the rom without the extended
is there is a way to return to the original extended
does if i install new rom on it it will be back to the smaller extended ??
please help me
40 people view my messege and not even 1 reply -((
thanks for all the good people here that want to help me
Come on. Your posting isn't 24 hours old.....
You can install the programs of the extended ROM manually or you have to reflash your device again with the ROM without the BigStorage hack.
As much as i know, there is no other solution....
Stefan
If you do a "normal" update, i.e. start an "official", unmodified ROM-update program that also includes an Extended ROM, you will get this Extended ROM installed as well.
The question is - why do you want an Extended ROM ?
Do you want to sell/give away your device ?
Otherwise you can install the .CAB files that usually are in the Extended ROM also by copying them from the PC via ActiveSync to your device. They are probably available on the FTP Server here (did not check it though).

Adding a single oem (remotetracker) to a stock rom

Hello,
Is it possibly to add one or 2 cabs to stock kaiser rom? My plan is to add remotetracker to my rom and leave the rest as is (including the spl if possible). This way I am always protected by remotetracker and sending back my device to htc for repairs (if that would be necessary) won't give trouble
Thanks in advance, peterrus

Blure question as if you cook this in you have a custom rom even using the stock so warranty is broken if you send it in for repairs. Other than that its just to make a package out of the cab isnt it?
Well, maybe HTC doesn't notice the device doesn't run a original ROM. Well I can make an OEM package, but I want to include it in the stock ROM. When I use a kitchen I get all kinds of stripped baseroms, which is something I rather not want.

You are kidding right? What do you exactly want here? Do you want it to be like if someone stole youre phone and perform a hard reset that the program is automaticly installed and you can trace it? Or just want to have the program installed if YOU hard reset? Or.. Just have the program installed..
wut
What I really want to know is: Can I add one or 2 files to a stock rom, repack it, and flash it.

Yes in diffrent set of ways, you can use package tools on the given cab to make a package to brew in or use XML whit a config operator and have the cab in ROM. There are other ways aswell, it depends on the ROM you are using and the prefered way you want todo this. Idk wich one I would recomend for you.. By making a package you can end up having trouble whit the cab, seting up operator you need to dig in a bit to learn. Read up on packages and search on config_operator setups and you will get there
Thanks, will do.

[ROM] Official HTC Upgrade - Windows Mobile 6.5

HTC Snap:
ROM: 2.03.405.2
Radio: 3.47.25.29
Windows Mobile Standard (Build 5.2.21854)
http://rapidshare.com/files/2919947...igned_MAPLE_61.36t.25.29H_3.47.25.29_Ship.exe
Have fun!
For those stuck in Tricolour boot loader:
Original post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4872255&postcount=78
Solution is as folllows
1. Downloaded rom from above (or other source if dont have a serial number to DL from HTC - although the serial number is a good check for the correct rom)
2. Run RUU_Captain_S_HTC_WWE_2.03.405.2_Radio_Signed_MAPL E_61.36t.25.29H_3.47.25.29_Ship.exe
3. Select Next so that package extracts
4. Select Start | Run | and type %TEMP%, and hit enter to open temp folder
5. Sort explorer by Date so that newest date at top
6. Locate the newest folder (eg just created), should be something like pftXXXX.tmp
7. Double click to open
8. Rename RUU_signed.NBH to MAPLIMG.nbh
9. Copy to a FAT32 microsd
10. Insert SD into handset and power on (remove battery an reinsert if required).
11. Screen will initially display tri-colour, then change to grey screen with loading
12. Screen will then show progress as initial components flashed
13. Phone will reboot at about 10% - DONT PANIC - Let phone boot to Tri-Colour, then into grey screen
14. Leave for a few minutes, loader will confirm initial components flashed ok, then continue to flash OS image
15. Once complete (progress bar reaches 100% and displays complete (or something similar)
16. Remove battery
17. Remove MicroSD
18. Reinstall battery, and power on phone
19. WM6.5 initial setup will begin, and phone should be all happy now!!
20. Ensure you rename or delete MAPLIMG.nbh from SD before reinstalling into phone.
21. Flash HardSPL!!!!!
22. Flash custom rom of your choice (ookba's look pretty good to me!!!).
Will this work on any European Snap? Downloading it now...
would this work with my x1
bad file
tried several times to use this..stops at 21% each time. downloaded a couple times thinking it might have been a bad file..in any case. doesn't work. fortunatley was able to flash stock image after
Whether it can provide the parameters of ROM production orders and related software.
Intentionally ask. Thanks.
I know it says "Maple", but does it work on the Ozone (Cedar)?

sorry I don't undestand. you download the ROM and it doesn't work?
Is this the official HTC Snap ROM upgrade for certain? No Hard-SPL needed?
And which country is this for?
Same here on a MAPL100. 23% and freezes.

The flash does not work on MY MAPL100. The flash freezes and then walks you through recovery, which fails.
I was able to flash back to the 1.17.531.6.

Looks like it's designed for a European SNAP S521 (MAPL110). If the ROM doesn't see that CID, it will fail. To install it on a different Maple device, you need HardSPL or a Goldcard from QMAT.
wm 6.5
can someone post this another way i could download it instead of rapidshare my computer wont let me download from rapidshare

the specifics of where, what and why all the errors were a bit frustrating
but, alas...some clarity

More than that, it looks like it's still not an official release. Hence, why we don't see it on HTC's website yet. I managed to cook from it and testing now. Core feels snappy and solid so far. Flashed the new radio and will be testing reception as well.

Can't downgrade the rom

Hi!
I recently installed the wm6.5 cotulla's rom for 64mb devices in my htc magician. But after give it a try, I want to downgrade to the original rom. But, when I try to downgrade to this rom "OS 1.12.03 / ExtROM 1.12.159 / Radio 1.12" (The last official ROM in spanish) I cant do this because it says: Error of ID of country.
Someone knows how to fix that?

Must replace ROMUpgradeUt.exe to MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe
This same problem
I have got this same problem. *.exe file was replaced.
don't worry worry i'll help you.
but before we start, can you still go to the boatloader.? if you do then here we go.
extract the files inside your spanish rom.
it its the original rom, you should have these files:
check link: h--p://pdamobiz.com/forum/uploads/image2/CEZFF_1.gif
then, open or run "RomUpdateUT.exe"
don't press next yet.!
download these file h--p://files.pdamobiz.com/ROMs/XDA/Magician/MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe and save it on where you extracted your original rom, it should look like this:
check link: h--p://pdamobiz.com/forum/uploads/image2/5EFAZ_2.gif
now open and run MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe
now you can press the next button and follow the instruction properly.
h--p://pdamobiz.com/forum/uploads/image2/E7661_u02.jpg
h--p://pdamobiz.com/forum/uploads/image2/52E61_u03.jpg

h--p://pdamobiz.com/forum/uploads/image2/Z47E6_u05.jp
h--p://pdamobiz.com/forum/uploads/image2/84D35_u08.jpg
by the way make sure that you're battery has enough charge, and also check your rom if its not corrupted.
credits to:
ruchonburi of pdamobiz.com
i've done this when i tried Cotulla's latest rom, and it prove to me that downgrading was easy as long as you have the original rom.
i hope it helps.

[Q] help! wi-fi doesn't work on haseeb wm6.5!

after i flashed my rom([htc wizard]cingular8125) to haseeb wm6.5 the wi-fi doesn't work anymore(in the comm manager you cannot turn on the switch for wi-fi). which one is wrong? can someone give me a direct link for a good rom? or somthng that can bring back it's WLAN connection. thanks in advance!..
Just a guess ...
/windows/wifiinit.exe ... copy a link to /windows/startup?
Search haseeb's thread to see if anyone complained about wifi, and what suggestions were made.
whew thanks!
i think i'll just reflash it with ham3r's rom. i hope this will do better..
downloading.....
If that also gives you problems, please let us know. Someone else is reporting wifi problems with Ham3r's 6.1 ROM, but it works well for me.
freaked out!
i just finished downloading one of your threads, both the radio and the rom in ham3r's wm6.1.
but..
when i unzip the file (HTC_Wizard_61_21042_WWE_H3r5_b)?
it requires me to enter the password for encypted file nk.nbf..
what should i do?
am new to upgrading roms.. the only thing i'm familiar with is flashing
cotulla's work on my magician.
pls help.. thanks!!
Ham3r is the password
Sent from my Full Android on Vogue using XDA App
finally,i already unzipped (HTC_Wizard_61_21042_WWE_H3r5_b)..
[thanks for the pass]
last questions before flashing...
*do i have to rename the nk.nbf(os) and nk.nbf(radio) before running RUU?
*i already have the RUU(rom update utility) and already unzipped.
should i just paste both .nbf files in the folder before running RUU.exe?
*how am i going to use both .nbf files to flash my rom?
*do i need to downgrade first to its original rom before flashing ham3r's wm6.1 from haseeb's wm6.5?
i have everything in place.. just teach me how the installation works..
thanks..
dont need to rename, just put one in RUU folder, flash it, put the other in RUU folder, flash it too. Really, this information is in the stick threads named something like "read first" or "how to flash"
thanks!!!
thank you very much i finally flashed my wizard with ease with your help..
i flashed it first with its original rom so errors can prevent..
then flashed it with ham3r's rom..
cross fingers!!,, then here you go..
everything works good..
boot time fast..
signal strong..
wi-fi switch not greyed out..
pre-installed programs and apps ( thumbs up!)
thanks!
