O2 asking for second copilot package back! - Touch Cruise General

Anyone else had a request from o2 to send the duplicate copilot package back? Just had mine !
Already used the second one!!
Do they have a recourse to charge me for it? They sent in error.

Some O2 sales ppl didn't realise that it comes preinstalled with CoPilot, so they where sending out extra packs with CoPilot.

Hi,
anybody there who want to sell, the second one? (duplicate copilot package)
(send to germany)
greetings
Harry

I've still got my second (unused) CoPiolot software they sent, also got a letter yesterday headed Opppss asking for it back , as far as Im aware I've paid for it because I was charged extra contract wise when upgrading to an Orbit 2 otherwise I would have had a higher discount on my tariff.
So if I send it back Im due a refund right?
Im thinking about holding it hostage until they force HTC to make proper video driver's, I cant believe the scrolling on the Orbit2 is worse than the original Orbit

Hi all,
I also got the Oops!!!! letter from O2 wanting the boxed version of Copilot back.
I have used the memory card from this box to get the copilot working as the one with the phone didn't work.
I am thinking of ringing them to ask for a reduced tariff as I think this was mis-sold. I was quoted £50 more for each of the packages because I wanted copilot, when it was included free.
Got to be worth a go.
Andrew.

I had to create a new card installation from the supplied disk as the original one was corrupt - not a very good start.
Yesterday I got a letter asking for the second CP7 software back, this went in the bin as I only ever received a single copy of the software with the device, and they never sent out a second copy to me - Mike

Good choice!!! You can also sell it to XDA Dev members. Me? I choose the package without the co-Pilot only to find one inside. They could'nt claim it back coz I paid for the whole year upfront. I did'nt received any claim notice though.

Hi All,
Just got of the phone to O2 (customer retentions) and got a new deal off them.
Original deal taken out 05/02/08.
24 month @ £40 with a £5 customer loyalty discount, phone free.
New package.
18 month @ £35 with a £5 customer loyalty discount, phone £49.99. Also one free month rental for all the hassle.
I used the argument (which is true) that when I ordered on 05/02/08 I was quoted 2 prices. I was specifically asked if I wanted the Orbit 2 with or without CoPilot s/w. All the prices with CoPilot were £50 more than without.
The O2 rep (Adrian) agreed with me that this was wrong, a throwback to the original Orbit which was available with CoPilot at £50 extra. He agreed to move me to the 18 month tariff with me paying £49.99 for the phone. I then asked if we could do anything about the phone charge and he agreed to a free month’s rental. So the phone has cost me £15.
I am sorry if this comes across as sexist but I was getting nowhere with this speaking to women, they didn’t understand my position. Eventually I got put through to retentions and got a man. Sorted.

I suspect the retentions team is a bit more clued up anyway. They have the power to fine tune packages rather than select from a bunch of options. They have to be on the ball a bit more for that to make sure they don't undersell. I've just ordered my O2O2 after having to wait until March 1st because of an 18 month upgrade cycle. I didn't want to wait 18 months again for an upgrade but then I didn't want the crappy packages they give you on a 12 contract. It told them that I was happy to have a 18 month contract, but I didn't want that to mean an 18 month handset upgrade cycle too (although being a "select" customer means I get to upgrade 3 months before end of contract)
The woman in sales just couldn't do anything but when they put me through to another woman in retention, she was great and sorted it all out. FWIW I got a 12 months contract, 1000texts, 600mins, web bolt-on, £40pm, handset free. Not amazing but online the same contract would be £40+£7.50 a month (for webbolt-on) and £50 for the handset - an extra £140 over the year.

Argue your tits off with o2,
theyre not perfect by an means... and trust me i should know,
owning an orbit i contacted o2 shop in town to have confirmed whether 4gb card will work ok,
(SDHC) told yes, so brought online from non o2 supplier,
card didnt fit etc, but o2 liable as advised it would,
o2 promised to send 'free' 2gb card,
this arrived damaged,
rang complaints - card sent out, card didnt arrive
rang complaints again - card sent out - card didnt arrive
(turned out both cards were not actually posted at all) - blatently lied to !!!
rang again threatening legal action,
i was 12mths into an 18mth contract = by way of apologising
i now have Free upgrade to orbit 2
free spare battery
4gb sdhc card
and my package has been updated to include bolt-on 'free' for internet useage
theyre a bunch of half witted brain dead's
who dont know their backsides from their elbows
contract still remains 6mths to end,

O2 for rubbish service

My xdaii hard reset itself over a week ago, It now boots up to the o2 screen and freezes. I called o2insure as i pay a monthly premium they have had no stock for weeks, called o2 select services and after seven hours on the telephone they escalated my call to a supervisor. I was again informed that they had no stock and a loan phone (not an xda) would be sent to me last saturday, it did not arrive! called again today still out of stock, however my local store has stock and so does o2 sales as detailed on their website. When I spoke to the supervisor for the third time today and told her this i was informed that these are seperate companies!
O2 just seem to want to sell a product with several bugs and offer no support. I am totally fustrated, any comments please gents
I can only say that as a loyal Orange UK customer who left the fold just to get my XDA2, I'll be switching back to Orange just as soon as my minimum expensive O2 contract expires. O2 customer service (is there any?) seems designed around the "Make life hard and you'll sort out the whingers from the serious problems" theory. When you have a problem you need to be very, very patient to get anywhere, and be prepared to get passed from department to department to get the simplest answer.
Orange, by comparison, are just about perfect. I even felt slightly guilty about leaving them after 10 years of customer satisfaction, but they didn't have the XDA2 last November. No wonder Orange win customer satisfaction prizes. I honestly can't imagine O2 winning anything.
Darryl, I think you've been unlucky with your XDA2. Most of them seem to be fine. Mine certainly is very good indeed. It's O2 that sucks, not the hardware.
Well im now waiting for my third xdaII, Orange were right to wait until some of the bugs were fixed! Spoke to Orange today they cannot confirm as to when their version will be generally available
I couldn't agree more with the comments above. I would strongly advise people hold onto their cash and wait for Orange to release their version. I, too, was a loyal Orange customer for 8 years and only had a few problems Ialways pushing the envelope!). O2 cut me off while abroad last week after they had demanded a £100 deposit to allow international roaming. When I got back it was because I was over my £50 credit limit by £3!!! Ask to speak to a supervisor and you can't - the "procedure" is to have them call you back within 24 hours - do they? Of course not. Can't wait for my 12 months to be over!
Everyone have a look at my post in this section labelled "See what O2 can do for you" (yes, it was meant tongue in cheek!)
Daryll.....if your local store has stock and Select are going to offer a replacement rather than a repair, then what Select should do is forward your case to high level complaints who can then call the store to confirm they have stock and authorise them to take the XDA out of their stock.
Please note, it MUST be done that way. Normally what was said about the stores etc being a different part of the business is true so don't expect to walk into a store and get stuff swapped etc if it wasn't bought there normally!
- NB. This only applies if your are actually an O2 customer - and that isn't as daft as it sounds - if you are on O2 but get bills from Carphone Warehouse, Singlepoint (vodafone) etc. then this won't apply. It can only be done "in house"
I can speak with hand on heart when I say what I see day-to-day in the company does my head in, but there are quite a few us who do know what we're doing (just not enough of us).
All I can say to those of you who have had a problem here and there is write to head office (address on bottom of your bill - bath rd, slough) and tell them (polite letters tend to get read more!) and if you've had good service then do the same! It's the only way things get highlighted!! - We do the same!
Cheers

Ordered my XDA 2 from the above.... 3 weeks ago
£119.99 and on o2 200
still hadn't arrived today, so I rang them.......
They had cancelled my order
and now want to charge me
£139.99 and 02 400..........
So on principle I went somewhere else...........
so hopefully within the week........!!!!
(sorry to start on a rant, I'm usually quite fun!)
Hi Loony
I think that OneStop have made a mistake on their O2 tarriffs ..
The XDA II Is now listed (as you said) at £139.99 with O2 400 - monthly charge £30 per month
However the O2 website states that O2 400 is £45 per month. £30 per month is the equivalent price for the old advert which was O2 200 ....
So I wonder what you do get for £139.99 ? O2 400 or O2 200 ....
Neither - its the current O2 Double Up promotion.
400 minutes, and 100 texts for the first 4 months, then it reverts back to 200 minutes and 50 texts thereafter, and if you'll forgive me saying, it says so quite clearly on the Onestop site.
As an Olive Branch (only joking mates), what I can say is that Onestop are going against the grain, in that I once ordered a 7250 from them, and waited two months, not through them, but delays in Nokia just actually launching it.
By the time it was in, the price had dropped.
But Onestop insisted the price chargeable was at the point of order.
So I would put this to them, and point out that if the price drops, Onestop can and DO insist that customers pay the price when ordered, as this is what rules. So they should not have cancelled your order for no reason at all, and they price you pay should be the price at your original order.
Having said all this, the extra 800 texts would amount to some £80 so you are still saving in the long run, never mind the voice calls - I think they have re-rationalised their handset prices since moving from Singlepoint (rubbish) to O2 themselves as the Service Provider. O2 being a far better SP than Singlepoint, but NOT subsidising the handsets to the same degree...

agreed... this is their current 'deal'
But the 'deal' I signed up for was £119.99 O2 200 +50 sms (@£25 month rental) + free year insurance, +free car hands free kit.... (pre mid march)
But due to a [email protected] up by them, I never got it, and they now refuse to honor that deal.... wanting me to pay for more expensive one instead
Told them to Stuff it (in principle) and have gone to another company at £139.99 on O2 200 +200 free net mins +50sms each month + insurance and car kit..!!!
Looking forward to playing with new toy (48 hours they quoted!!)
The Palm 3c is beginning to show its age..!!!
Fair comment mate - but two things...
Where was O2 200 50 SMS EVER £25 a month. No where I have ever seen, and trust me implicitly - this includes Onestop. This tariff has ALWAYS been £30 a month
Secondly, I appreciate your principals, but you have now cut your nose of to spite your face.
Becuase you are now paying the same amount for 200 mins and 100 texts, as you could have at Onestop for 400 mins for the first four months - or in simple terms, losing out on some whopping 800 free anytime, any network minutes. And that's a lot of money's worth...
But fair do matey.

..agreed.......
Just got the feeling they cancelled me on purpose just to make me re-apply for the new rate........
I made my bed etc...........
They don't call me Loony for nothing.
Yup the cheeky onestop bastids did that to me too. I had ordered it just before they changed the price and status said awaiting stock. 4 days later it had changed to cancelled!. I emailed them to say WTF, and they said they had emailed me 3 times asking for 2 proofs of ID as i'd had a phone less than 3 months form them before.
I didn't get this email, and they said as i hadn't replied within three days they cancel the order. I said you didn't really make much effort to contact me, they said what did you espect us to do. I replied well you have my email, mobile number home number home address!
3 days to reply to an email or they cancel your order, bollox if you ask me
I reckon its a case of offer went up lets screw people. I wont deal with them again, they are a bunch of 'coporate bankers'
it is a bit like cutting off your nose to spite your face, but its ****ing them up the arse too losing customers. I'd never recommend them now over the attitude and way they treated me.

Same here.........
and I KNOW they were lying, as I had kept ALL my emails scince early march...........
Yes even the spam.!!!
I have said this before but its worth repeating, O2 has no customer service, the whole system is set up in favour of O2, O2 comes first, last and any point in between. A bunch of faceless bastards that wouldnt piss on you if you were on fire. Their online service is a joke, great prices but anything go wrong and the best you can hope for is a solicitors/debt agency letter telling you to pay up or go to court.
Let me be absolutely, and abundantly clear...
Anyone and their pet goldfish can tell you two simple things...
1)Onestop Customer Service is the pits.
2)Singlepoint customer service is the pits.
The world and his oyster however, can also tell you that this never stopped thousands of people taking out a new handset with onestop, and at that time, with sh*tty singlepoine as the <lack of>service provider.
Why? Cos they weren't bothered about Customer Service (if they were, they were mad or disillusional), and they weren't even really too bothered about the tariffs even.
The reason they did it (at least I hope this is why so many sensible people took such a course of action), is because they were generally after the latest handsets at the very cheapest possible accumulative price.
And this, and this alone, was the ONLY thing onestop had to their credit.
So in short, if you want that nice new handset at what is usually the cheapest possible way of ever owning it, then you go to onestop. But you NEVER EVER expect it to be plain sailing getting it,or an easy time, or stress free - cos Onestop are just not capable of that.
At the end of the day though, you need to go into it with your eyes open, and be realistic.
You don't EVER order from Onestop on the basis of service. The ONLY consideration is price.
And if service plays too much of a part for you, then you don't go to onestop.
This post is not to complain at anyone - far from. Just to remind all and sundry that you pays your money, you takes your choice.
And if you don't like the choice, then you don't pays your money to onestop folks, because service is a none starter with them.

not to rub salt into the wound but onestop honored its £199.99 price for me. Still had to wait a whopping 4 weeks delievery though!

I ordered a XDA 2 from them on the 18 of march, at £119 on o2 200.
After many phone calls asking why they had taken my money ages ago, but still no phone, it did arrive, 3 weeks later.
There is a single dead pixel on the screen. So i phoned up a couple of times to let them know I wanted it replaced, and as I was heading over to Crewe - I would personally deliver it to swap it.
This was accepted and I drove over. When I arrived I dealt with the most arrogant tw*t I've ever come across. He took the phone and said he would check if they were in stock (I had asked them to keep one, as I would definately be coming that day).
He then came back saying they dont seem the phone as faulty and thats the end of it. I can prove beyond doubt, that he did not even take the phone from the box.
This leads me to suggest they just didnt have any in stock. He was rude arrogant, and a total wa**er basically.
Any ideas what I can do before I talk to trading standards or possibly lawyers?
My advice - quickly find (or 'create' ) another fault with it - pulling the power half way through a ROM upgrade might be a good one.
Why?
Because one dead pixel is perfectly within spec.
I'm looking for the specific page in the manual that mentions acceptance levels, and what colours they are etc. As soon as I find it, I'll mention it here.
But one dead pixel is acceptable, so start thinking about Plan B.
Mmm - can't find it now in the manual, but it went into detail as to what colours were touching each other, what dead pixel specs were, etc etc.
I wonder if I was reading it from the website or something.
Nevertheless, one dead pixel is within acceptable limits.
so basically.... theres a dead pixel (that i can clearly see), but it isnt faulty? doesnt seem fair but hey
hmm.
well plan b, is go on O2 Insure Gold (which correct me if im wrong, is virtually the same as Orange Care), and a month later ask for a replacement.

Only if you do what I told you already, and create another fault.
Otherwise, you aren't quite getting it mate.
As much as i would see it as a fault too, one dead pixel is NOT accepted as a fault.
So all the insurance in the world ain't gonna help, of you are only using THIS as the fault.
You need to 'find' another fault (and I suggested a great one) - though I accept no responsibility however.
And if you do that, then insurance wouldn't even be needed.
Its the same with TFT-LCD monitors, there can be a certain percentage of dead pixels and its acceptable. Its still acceptable if its dead smack bang in the middle of the screen as long as it isn't over the stated number.
Thats no good to the user that has to stare at it all day.
Another fault is great, but be careful, as if they find you've made the fault, you'll be liable. Better fault would be to say that the screen keeps fading intermittently or something. Then if the test it, you can say well it was intermittent!
Careful with the insurance tho, don't you have to pay the first £50?
With OSPS, if the fault is within 28 days, then they have to replace with a new one. After that time, the unit is sent back for repair

AT&T Fuze Warranty Replacement

Anyone here got his/her Fuze replaced under warranty (not insurance) from AT&T? I'd like to know the procedure as I bought it at AT&T online store not the local one. Can I still go to a local store and ask for repair/replacement?
It's been more than 30 days and I have tried probably most of the options available. The issue is that it freezes up frequently and it mostly happens while I am using Outlook over WiFi. Either loading a message (frequently) or doing a send/receive (sometimes).
I tried removing the SD card just to make sure that it's not the card or SD driver issue, but that didn't help much. The WiFi is also spotty at best, taking more than a minute to connect when I am just couple of feet away from the router and also disconnects frequently.
I have tried several different ROMs as well, so I guess the last option is to try a different phone. My other thread with the issues is here.
TIA.
Stores don't handle warranty claims, you have to go through the telephone support or take it to a Device Support Center. If you try to go to the store, they'll just call up the warranty line and hand you the phone, so don't waste your time with a trip to the store.

What build date did you get and does it get hot when you use data like watching Cingular Video or similar?
Mine gets so hot it burned my finger and want to try to get one that doesn't have this issue(a newer build??), but not sure if they fixed it or if they all have this issue.
I work for AT&T in tech support and warrranty exchange.
After 30 days, you have to do Exchange by mail or at a device service center.
Thanks guys, I'll contact AT&T. I was hoping I don't have to send it back as I already put on an InvisibleShield screen protector. I am sure the protector will not be usable once I remove it from the device and I may have to order another one, but that's probably OK.
Another question, do I have to send it in before or I can ship it after receiving the replacement?

Mine gets a bit warm too when I have been browsing for few minutes (15+) or when it's downloading lot of emails. But it's never too hot to touch. Main issue is freezing while loading an email in Outlook and I am forced to reset.
I received the replacement Fuze on Friday and have been trying it for last 2 days with the stock ROM with only few apps (like CorePlayer, Resco Explorer etc) from the microSD card. It has the same problem and I had to reset it at least 6 times already.
What does it mean? I thought it'd be pretty unlikely for 2 phones exhibiting the same issues, no? Could it be the card?
Thanks.
i replaced my first fuze... just make sure to flash it back to factory rom and radio and if u have security unlocked your fuze... DO NOT and i mean DO NOT forget to PM olipro on how to security re-lock your phone. other than that it was a smooth transaction for me... i paid for next day shipping, got it the next morning.. same afternoon mailed my old phone back and that was it.
You said you tried several different roms... well that eliminates the software. And it is happening across 2 different phones...
So it could only be 2 things:
Problem with all Fuze phones
OR
Problem with something you are doing/using
I usually don't have to reset my FUZE often... nor have I heard of others having a big problem. So the problem has to be something on your end.
What programs are you installing? Remove your microSD card... maybe Email and/or Browser cache is being saved on the microSD card and causing a bottleneck = freezing.
Yes, since the new phone has everything stock and just a few apps, I'm quite sure it's not the software or else the forums would have been flooded with such complaints. Only thing common in these phones was the card. This A-Data microSD seems to be fine too when I connect it to my PC, but who knows.
I have installed a new ROM (Da_G clean ROM) on my first phone and every app (Spb Mobile Shell, CorePlayer, TorchButton, pcShutXP, Resco Explorer, Skyfire, Adv Confg) I want and running it for last couple of hours without the card. So far so good. I have opned at least 10 HTML emails in Gmail, Outlook & Hotmail without a crash. If it goes fine for a day, I guess we'll have an answer.
Only thing I am missing with this ROM is the HTC gesture in Outlook, Explorer etc. I tried the Da_G version of HTC gesture but it doesn't work. Thanks.
at&t thoughts & general warranty policy...
general policy:
w/in 30 days- store will handle returns- you get a brand new fuze.
after 30 days- tech support/warranty exchange for new or (more likely) refurbished units. I have recieved many refurbished units in the past with no problems. After 3 warranty /exchages, at&t generally offers you a different phone all together.
Make sure you return your device to them as it was originally sent to you. I found this out after returning a Nokia N-75 (att edition) with the non-branded Nokia update.... they don't like it very much and you get charged $200+. This means, PM Olipro if you have paid for security unlocking, reflash stock ROM, and I have to admit, I would try my best to have the stock SPL on there too....
Thanks friends. Sorry, I forgot to mention that I never got it security unlocked. So, I just need put the stock SPL back but now I am wondering what's the point in returning the old one as the new one is no better. It hung once today and I didn't even use it that much. So I'll return the new one and wait for 6.5 release to see if that improves anything for me.
i ordered mine online, it was freezing and such, i took it into the store before the 30 day mark and they exchanged it.
I think I should have done that too. Instead, I was trying different ROMs and software and finally when I contacted AT&T, 30 days were over. For me even the new one wasn't any better (probably they sent a refurb), so I returned it yesterday and kept the old one.
There's not much you can do about general bugginess in the phone - this is a characteristic of pretty much all smartphones. When I had the 8525 I must have exchanged it 5-6 times until I finally learned my lesson. From what I have heard Palm OS has the same problem. Even when I did a one-month trial of an iPhone I had to soft reset a lot. It's a bit like Windows 3.1 or 95/98 - it just has to be reset every so often or else it crashes. I have heard that blackberries (at least non-Storm blackberries) are better but I have never had one.
What really sucks about AT&T warranty service is that they don't ship internationally (as I just discovered). So, the ungrateful f$#%!s have taken my $39.99 a month for the last four months without my using a single minute, but they won't ship my replacement phone to me here in Israel. So much for an "international warranty."
If you are curious, my screen died, but that's the subject of another thread
I've got a small crack across the top right hand corner of my screen. I called today to make a warranty claim and she said that was physical damanage and they dont cover it. Which didnt make sense to me as I pay the 5 dollars a month for insurance on it and they said they would cover physical damage. That's niether here nor there though.
So I explained the screen cracked and she said she would talk to a warranty guy he said Nope wont cover it so she sent me to the insurance department saying I would have to pay 50 dollars for a replacement as part of the stipulations of the insurance I have. Okay kind of making sense.. 50 dollars I can handle not a big deal. The insurance lady then tells me that I have to pay 125 dollars for the phone. WHAT!? I was just told it would cost 50 dollars AND when I signed up I was told it would be 50 dollars. This didnt make any sense to me. She said 85-90 percent of their high end phones only cost 50 dollars to replace with the insurance but the fuze costs 125 dollars cause its a VERY high end phone. Grrrr I was specifically told it would be 50 by the people at the ATT store. Now granted they may not have known any better but if an employee promises you something I think the company should suck it up and stick to that deal.
SO I now have a fine working phone with a crack on the screen. They're telling me that it comes with a a year warranty which apparently doesnt cover anything and with the extra 5 dollars a month I pay for insurance ($65.00 a year tax inc) I still have to fork out a ton of cash.
Has anyone else experienced this with ATT? Any advice? I told them to hold on with the claim as I wasnt about to have them bill me an additional 125 dollars.
Thanks

Which didnt make sense to me as I pay the 5 dollars a month for insurance on it and they said they would cover physical damage. That's niether here nor there though.

Hi Aaron,
My friend is an expert at dealing with customer support and their bull$hit. From him, I have learned that you should just keep telling them what you were promised, regardless of what the "contract" may be. Tell them that their integrity rides on the matter of it, etc and if they don't fold ask for a manager or someone else that can actually help you out and give you waht you were promised. just don't give up and be persistent with them without getting upset or angry (try not to) and just complain until they give in. If you've been with them for a while, just tell them that you've given them sooo much money and you're a loyal customer, etc. Good luck!
double post, sorry, okay to delete

[Q] Anyone got a Omnia 7 from T-Mobile yet ?

Order mine online last Monday, and not had anything from them so far. :-(
Have you tried phoning or emailing them?
I'm waiting on mine too. No exact delivery date given but told it should be within 2 weeks which means they haven't got a clue.
I did read a comment on wmpoweruser that they had to send the 1st shipment back due to quality issues as something was faulty on them. Don't know If it's true but could be the reason for the delay.
I also want to know if the Omnia 7 from T-mobile is locked?
I would have thought so but I thought you could always ask tmobile to unlock it for you.
Or easier still buy from a reseller online and it comes unlocked and it's cheaper, the only downside is 1gb against 3gb and not as fast speed but you can either pay 5 pounds a month to upgrade or chance your luck buy ringing them and ask to have the full speed unlocked. Say it's an android phone as that worked for some people.
Thanks chaps, I will give them a call on Monday and see what they say.
I was told by them that there were QC issues and the first shipment was returend to suppliers.

What does this mean?
Sorry, I was in a rush earlier.
I meant If you buy the phone from a reseller it will be much cheaper but it will have a 1GB data allowance against 3GB when purchased direct. And you will get not get the full high speed internet, you will be throttled down.
You can phone them up and try your luck and they might remove the speed limit, If not you pay £5 a month to upgrade to the full speed and 3GB.
But compare the prices and It's not worth buying direct and resellers are normally unlocked with no branding.
Plus don't forget Quidco or Topcashback etc for extra money back, about £30 on average.
Phoned them again today, and they said they "might" get some in Friday :-( but they said that about today too.
Turns out the QC issue they had with the phones was with the packaging...
Oye. When they mentioned the Friday delivery they told 'but they still need to go through QC first' implying they don't expect them to ship tomorrow.
Well hopefully it should be sorted soon as a lot of people want that phone (inc me)
Bad news according to the buymobilephones twitter account. Says tmobile have informed them It will take up to 2 weeks before stock arrive
It's getting to a stage where the windows phone stock is as rare as kinect stock.

Sounds like real bad news for us who want one
Got a message from T-mobile, "my phone is in stock" , i need to call back to make payment.
Odd, I already payed online I thought. However I rang anyway.
Now, out of stock !!!!!!!!!!! I was not happy.
They only had a small number of units and I took too long to ring back.
I've now told them to send the next one they get, and take payment.
nope, got mine from orange in london cos i knew they had them. I was with t mobile but they said they had software issues and wouldnt be releasing the phone until it was sorted or something so being the impatient guy that i am i went to Orange (london)
T-Mobile do *not* have stock of the Omnia7. Three have had stock since Tuesday and Orange got stock today.
If you've ordered already, best cancel and go for Orange on next day delivery. You can still piggyback the T-Mobile signal, and you get free picture messaging too
Just tried T-Mobile again and they have no idea when the 'packaging' issue will be resolved. Wouldn't be surprised if Everything Everywhere is deliberately letting Orange get the initial sales for some reason.
Regardless, I couldn't get them to do an 18 month contract below £40, even though Buymobiles.net are doing it at 18 month £30.
I got bored and ordered from Orange - If you ring them and push, they will do the handset free on 18 month Panther 40 for £35 per month using a credit on your bill. You also get the standard orange benefit of being able to upgrade after 15 months.
The reason I did it is I'm very impatient and sick of waiting !
Mickey
Nice one Micky. Ordered mine online. Paid £99 with £27.50/month. Should save about £80 over the usual price, so happy with that
'Packagin issue'? That has to be the most idiotic reason to not offer a product at launch. Especially when it's the only winpho7 handset they offer.
thats wierd!
my omnia 7 came 2 days ago from tmobile?!!

Early Upgrade? (o2 UK)

Hi Forum,
I just smashed my HD2 by dropping it on a concrete floor when getting out of my car. Dumbass. I was wondering, I am 15 or 16 months into a 24 month contract with o2 in the UK (via CarphoneWarehouse), do you think that they would allow me to get an early upgrade? I was thinking about bartering with them and trying to get what is essentially an 18 month contract, but locked into 24 months to make up the 6ish months I have left on my remaining contract.
Has anyone ever haggled with them, to any success? I have got insurance through my bank as part of a Current Account Plus but as I've claimed on it before it'll cost me £50 excess and it took several months to get my phone back.
I'm paying nearly £40 per month, so I'm not a 'penny-punter' but appreciate I'm not on the world's largest contract either.
Maybe if I took o2's own mobile phone insurance too, this could help sweeten the deal for them. I don't know. I'm really at a loss without a working phone and although my phone does work, it's really difficult to see through the almost shattered screen.
Kind regards.

Sorry I'm a little off topic here...
1. You guys in the UK can get insurance if you break your phone through the bank?!
2. Penny punter? lol what does that mean
I'm sure you can work something out with them. In Canada (which has a greedy telecom industry) stuff like that always happens and it's not the end of the world. In my experience it's more who will serve you than company policy. Don't sweat it too much.
Yeah, because I got what's called a Current Account Plus. I pay my bank £5 a month and I get a £300 interest free overdraft (which I am in a lot!), free mobile phone insurance which usually costs around £12-£24 a month and various other bits and pieces I'm not bothered about.
Also, a penny-punter is a term used in the betting industry. I work in a betting shop. It's someone that comes in a bets pennies per race (50p, 25p etc.) rather than pounds. You have to treat them the same as you would someone that was whacking £10,000 on a quadriplegic donkey. In short: a cheapskate.
Gonna give o2 a call when they wake up at 8am this morning and see what can be done. I'll post my results. I sincerely hope that they're feeling generous.
Update: o2 and Carphone Warehouse stonewalled me. Basically said that I should have taken *their* phone insurance (for £24 a month!) and now I'm stuck with a broken phone and eight months left on my contract.
O2 did say I could lower my contract to £26ish per month, however. Then, once I had been on my new tariff for a month I could buy out my contract at the new price. But that's still around £180.
I have about £150 for rainy days, and it is indeed looking very gloomy, so I think I am going to put that towards a phone that'll keep me going until January and then get something new, shiny and soon-to-be-obsolete-in-another-six-months-time handset.
I'm really sorry to hear that. Sounds like that place is playing with the rules...
Would you be interested in a blackberry pearl flip? I know it s blasphemy talking about a BB here but I'm willing to send it free of charge (i would ask you to pay shipping though). I will check for it when I get home.

I really appreciate the offer. It's much more generous than I was ever anticipating, but I am going to decline. Sorry to sound ungrateful but I am really needing a phone with a large display and gaming capabilities, because I work evenings and Sundays. My phone is the only source of relieving boredom.
Again, I really do appreciate the offer though! Thank you.
No worries! Good luck on your search.

It's swings and roundabouts.
With a bank account policy the premium is normally lower, but the excess can be higher and it's often not new for old.
With my O2 insurance it's £10 a month, £28 excess for any claim and I get a new phone the next working day.
I looked at the benefits from the £5 a month account Barclays are offering and other than the insurance for mobiles none of the benefits were of any use to me so I declined and stuck with my O2 insurance.
If I knew o2's was a tenner I would have gotten it myself. I'm sure they quoted 24 quid per month though which is why I declined. That is extortionate.

Blimey £24 I'd refuse to pay too!
http://www.o2.co.uk/support/generalhelp/howdoi/insurance
For basic phones it's £7.50 a month, high end phones it's £10 a month and iPhones it's £10 or £15 depending on model.
Excess is £25 or from £50 for iPhones.
I was getting confused between claims, the £28 and next day delivery was through CPW with my HD.
HD2 was £25 and I think a week or 10 days, and I had to hand over the damaged handset to the courier.
Once I get my new phone, I'm going to call O2 and see if they'll hook me up. As the phone will be 'third party' though, I'll probably just stick with what I have and then get it when I get a new contract in Jan/Feb.
