How do u deal with Time zones? I go o/s, change the time, all my appointments move. Or birthdays etc are from 4am-4am.
Or I want to book lunch. If I book 12pm, too bad cuz when I arrive there and change the time it'll be 7am! Clearly MSFT staff never fly o/s or cross a time zone, or else they'd fix this.

hi,
what do you mean "i change the time". do you change the home time or do you you use the visiting option (settings/ clocks and alarms/ time)?
It really makes no difference which I use. Either way there's a warning then all times change and my lunch is at 5.30pm etc.
Since some progs (spb traveler) makes appointments in destination time zones, I can't even pretend I'm in the same time zone all over the world.

I'll c if i can find anything and let u know.
Hmm even if I pretend I'm in the same time zone all over the world, if I have a flight from say US to Japan, I'd go backwards 1 day, can't even set the time!

Hi I was wondering if anyone knew of an app that basically makes entering new appointments easier/quicker. Not that it's that difficult or slow now. I just think it could be faster. Example:
Launch app and immediately it has a large text box asking for the Subject. Type subject hit next it then shows a large month view of the current month. Select day/date click next it then has a large box to type in or choose the time. Choose time click done. That's it.
The current way is not bad it's just sometimes it's hard to pinpoint the time dropdown and date dropdowns, I'll accidentally click the wrong dates or times a lot. And if I try to use my dpad on the Diamond forget about it. That dpad is horrible.
This of course would be for simple non elaborate appointments. Not recurring or custom ones. Most of the time I'm always trying to enter in a new appt before I forget and usually while I'm in the middle of something.
Thanks in advance for any info. It seems like this wouldn't be too hard to make. basically take all the info entered then inject it into the calendar as a new appt. No?
I use Pocket Informant, it works very good for me. When you tap the time box, a large set of numbers pop up and you just choose the nubers in order, and the date uses a calendar. Not completely finger-friendly, but it is much better than the default, and it's a great app to begin with.
Or, use ThumbCal.

Yeah, I'd like to not use a calendar replacement though. Just a lite little app that only runs when I bring it up then ends when finished.
Thread will be moved to Q&A
Hi!
I'm looking for a very specific type of alarm.
It might be easiest to just explain what it has to do
I want to try to get in shape, without going with crazy diets etc. Problem is, I don't always have that much commitment and I don't always follow through with schemes.
I'd like to have an alarmclock that reminds me on the following times:
-Getting up;
-Breakfast;
-Snack (about 11 AM);
-Lunch;
-Snack (about 15 PM);
-Dinner;
Also every other day for jogging and 1 in every 3 days to warn me to do my workout.
Yeah, I could just program the alarm over and over or just stop whining and get to it, but I think this will help me
So do you know an alarm that you can set for a lot of different times (preferably with differences each day?). I guess I'm looking for an alarmclock like the one the HD2 already has, only with more "slots".
Thanks so much
ps. I know it can be achieved with the agenda option, but I still prefer the alarmclock
Hi,
You could buy CradleAlarm (which I use) for about £4.50, can set heaps of alarms on it. You can also set different tones for each alarm too. It is available from Windows Marketplace.

why don't you just set an appointement in outlook, a series, which goes on day by day and reminds you every day at the same time?
thats how i remind myself at different things like football or so

Wait a minute. So your saying we should use something that already came on the phone for what it was intended for? Why I've... I've never heard of such a thing! Why that's... that's... GENIUS!
Seriously, I've often thought I've needed more then the three alarms that came on the phone and never once thought about using the calendar. I R an IDIOT!

No seriously...thanks for the suggestions I will look into them
freeware Klaxon supports multiple alarms as well
SPB Time is a real cool looking app that you can setup multiple alarms, count-down timers and stop-watch.
And its VERY touch friendly.
hi there well i work every night at 12am til whenever as a part time job while i continue my education during the day. well this company is known to mess up your hours. i know i can easily write them down in the notes or the calendar but i never know when my job is done so i gotta always write down something differet and i wanted to see if theres an app or if someone can create an app where its like a calandar type of app but with an 8th row after the Saturday (or sunday. whichever way they wanna end the week) that is like a total row that automatically adds up how many hours you work that week so you have quick and instant access to your hours in case you need to access them quickly. so is there an app like that or can someone pretty please make such an app? a widget doesnt have to be necessary but it could like make it sweeter

I just looked up "timesheet" in the market and myTimeSheet and Time Recording - Timesheet both look pretty good. I (obviously) can't vouch for either of them, but there were 22 results just for timesheet.
i use timeclock by spotlight six, it was a buck or two i think but its pretty slick and worth it, you can email full time logs in csv format, set up clients, set up locations, manual data and time edits
If you like i can write you up a quick one in the app inventor i'd love a reason to test it out more pm me if you would be intrested i can certainly talor it to your liking if you cant find one in the market to suit your needs.
I've been using Time Recording from the market for a month and I love it! It let me enter my pay rate per hour so I know how much I make before taxes and it calculates the hours per day, week, and month I work. Try it.

Yes I know, noob here. I've looked in all the threads I can find and on the marketplace but I just can't seem to find the app I want for running (like the Running Room).
Basic premise is an Analog Clock face where you could mark the time you want to take (ie, 45min, 30min, 25min, etc) on a run and then mark multiple spots where you want an action to take place. ie, run for 3 minutes then walk for 1 min, or run for 2 and walk 2, or 1/1 etc and have different notification sounds possible for each that would not interfear with your musicplayer (ie, you can hear it but it wouldn't crash it or close it etc).
I know this is probally the wrong spot but I am unable to post in the right spot as I am 'noob'. I'm really surprised the Running Room or Garmin don't have an app like this as this is how their running works, in stages with walk breaks in between. Not really looking for gps, pedemeter etc just the basics, clock face and the ability to mark diff color points with notification sounds and to set time spent running (or infinite, just set #/# interval).
Anybody know of an app like this or have the ability to code one, the last coding I did was c64 with visual basic so I'm......lacking.....lol
Thank you,
Steve (WarrGrinn/Deathstalker/Thor 911)
Anyone?, Bueller.....
Sigh, bumpity....
Have you looked into Endomondo?
Not sure it is can do everything you're looking for
Adidas makes a nice app... Thinks it's called adidas micoach. It's free. Maybe it will work for your needs..

Thank you, Yes I've looked and the Adidas one, havn't really gotten too deep into it, more just want a 'click and play' type app where there is just the options I need without alot of extra's or accounts etc. I love the 'minimal' apps that xda members have made (clock, text , etc.) and was hoping for something as simple. Ah well, few more posts and I can post in another forum I guess
Could you elaborate a bit more, describe some details?
What is the problem with the other running apps, they can't all require rocket science to use?
I'm always looking for ideas for new apps...
If there is nothing already there that fits that purpose, i might be willing to invest some hours .

Sorry it took so long for a response, kinda lazy here
I'm looking for a general 'clock' app, analog clock dial face with touch-points all around the dial, inner circle is seconds, outer circle is minutes. Ability to set a specific time for a run (ex, 45 min) and then divide that time into run/rest periods (ie, 5min run, then 1 min rest) along the dial and even have differing periods in the run (ie, after fourth run of 5 min a 3 min rest then 8 min run, etc).
Would like ability to set notification sounds (pick sound/s) for each 'event' along the run that inturrupt music/etc the phone is playing but not crash/stop it.
If it takes off advance stuff like compass/gps etc can be added but I'm just looking for a glorified stopwatch (analog style, like the old huge clocks that had tabs you could slide around for laps and times etc at the pool or gym) so I don't have to hog my mothers 'Garman' running sattelite watch, lol.
Hi all:
I've searched and searched, but can't find any soft suitable...
Here's the scenario:
I often travel between many timezones, many times a couple of times in one day, and also have meetings at the stops between flights, on their local time.
I would like to find a calendar app that will allow me to both enter and show an event that has a start in one timezone and end in another. All calendar apps I've tried let you either show your local, or the remote timezone. Now I'd like to look in the calendar, and see i.e. a flight starts at time X in timezone A, ends at time Y in timezone B, total time...
Surely something like this must exist, as I'm not the only high-volume traveller, but I can't find anything.
Can someone point me to some applicable soft?
It seems very strange to me that no one would be needing this functionality besides me. However so far I've identified no calendar app that can do this.
I've emailed the developers of Jorte, a calendar app that seems the slickest, but so far no response.
That sounds like a really great idea for an app that a dev needs to make. I'll be keeping my eye on this thread to see if you come up with one that works. But good luck!
+1
Sent from my Thunderbolt!
Today I've finally found a solution, the answer is: Pimlical Advanced Calendar.
You can set the event start in one timezone, the end in another, and it will show the event time in local time and the respective start and end times and timezones, as well as the duration: it's a godsend!
