Alarmclock with lots of different alarmtimes - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Themes and Apps

Hi!
I'm looking for a very specific type of alarm.
It might be easiest to just explain what it has to do
I want to try to get in shape, without going with crazy diets etc. Problem is, I don't always have that much commitment and I don't always follow through with schemes.
I'd like to have an alarmclock that reminds me on the following times:
-Getting up;
-Breakfast;
-Snack (about 11 AM);
-Lunch;
-Snack (about 15 PM);
-Dinner;
Also every other day for jogging and 1 in every 3 days to warn me to do my workout.
Yeah, I could just program the alarm over and over or just stop whining and get to it, but I think this will help me
So do you know an alarm that you can set for a lot of different times (preferably with differences each day?). I guess I'm looking for an alarmclock like the one the HD2 already has, only with more "slots".
Thanks so much
ps. I know it can be achieved with the agenda option, but I still prefer the alarmclock

Hi,
You could buy CradleAlarm (which I use) for about £4.50, can set heaps of alarms on it. You can also set different tones for each alarm too. It is available from Windows Marketplace.

why don't you just set an appointement in outlook, a series, which goes on day by day and reminds you every day at the same time?
thats how i remind myself at different things like football or so

Look for G-Alarm by ageye. They have a trial version.

Wait a minute. So your saying we should use something that already came on the phone for what it was intended for? Why I've... I've never heard of such a thing! Why that's... that's... GENIUS!
Seriously, I've often thought I've needed more then the three alarms that came on the phone and never once thought about using the calendar. I R an IDIOT!

No seriously...thanks for the suggestions I will look into them

freeware Klaxon supports multiple alarms as well

SPB Time is a real cool looking app that you can setup multiple alarms, count-down timers and stop-watch.
And its VERY touch friendly.

Countdown timer needed for HD2

Hi, I've always had Windows phones going right back to the very first XDA, apart from a break of about six months when I tried the HTC Hero. It was a great phone apart from the lack of mature apps for it, so I came back to Windows and now have an HD2. It's great, but I miss two simple things. The Hero used to have a very elegant countdown timer with rolling cylinders like a fruit machine. This was very finger-friendly, unlike the "Simple Timer", found elsewhere on this forum. The stopwatch was equally easy to use with the Hero screen.
Does anyone have these timers in Windows, or know how to get them?
P.S. The Simple Timer is fine as far as it goes, but difficult to set using the finger - I think it was written for a stylus-operated screen. If the boxes were bigger it would probably be OK, but I don't know how to make them bigger.
Any help with either issue would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks.
I`m using "SPB Time", its good for me and easy to use. Alarms, timers and countdown timers in one.

I'll +1 that, I was looking for something like you've described and SPB time has the cleanest and simplest interface that I've found (tried about 5 or 6 other ones first)

[Request] [App] work hours logs?

hi there well i work every night at 12am til whenever as a part time job while i continue my education during the day. well this company is known to mess up your hours. i know i can easily write them down in the notes or the calendar but i never know when my job is done so i gotta always write down something differet and i wanted to see if theres an app or if someone can create an app where its like a calandar type of app but with an 8th row after the Saturday (or sunday. whichever way they wanna end the week) that is like a total row that automatically adds up how many hours you work that week so you have quick and instant access to your hours in case you need to access them quickly. so is there an app like that or can someone pretty please make such an app? a widget doesnt have to be necessary but it could like make it sweeter

I just looked up "timesheet" in the market and myTimeSheet and Time Recording - Timesheet both look pretty good. I (obviously) can't vouch for either of them, but there were 22 results just for timesheet.
i use timeclock by spotlight six, it was a buck or two i think but its pretty slick and worth it, you can email full time logs in csv format, set up clients, set up locations, manual data and time edits
If you like i can write you up a quick one in the app inventor i'd love a reason to test it out more pm me if you would be intrested i can certainly talor it to your liking if you cant find one in the market to suit your needs.
I've been using Time Recording from the market for a month and I love it! It let me enter my pay rate per hour so I know how much I make before taxes and it calculates the hours per day, week, and month I work. Try it.

[Q] Jogging/Running App Request

Yes I know, noob here. I've looked in all the threads I can find and on the marketplace but I just can't seem to find the app I want for running (like the Running Room).
Basic premise is an Analog Clock face where you could mark the time you want to take (ie, 45min, 30min, 25min, etc) on a run and then mark multiple spots where you want an action to take place. ie, run for 3 minutes then walk for 1 min, or run for 2 and walk 2, or 1/1 etc and have different notification sounds possible for each that would not interfear with your musicplayer (ie, you can hear it but it wouldn't crash it or close it etc).
I know this is probally the wrong spot but I am unable to post in the right spot as I am 'noob'. I'm really surprised the Running Room or Garmin don't have an app like this as this is how their running works, in stages with walk breaks in between. Not really looking for gps, pedemeter etc just the basics, clock face and the ability to mark diff color points with notification sounds and to set time spent running (or infinite, just set #/# interval).
Anybody know of an app like this or have the ability to code one, the last coding I did was c64 with visual basic so I'm......lacking.....lol
Thank you,
Steve (WarrGrinn/Deathstalker/Thor 911)
Anyone?, Bueller.....
Sigh, bumpity....
Have you looked into Endomondo?
Not sure it is can do everything you're looking for
Adidas makes a nice app... Thinks it's called adidas micoach. It's free. Maybe it will work for your needs..
Sent @ 04:20
Thank you, Yes I've looked and the Adidas one, havn't really gotten too deep into it, more just want a 'click and play' type app where there is just the options I need without alot of extra's or accounts etc. I love the 'minimal' apps that xda members have made (clock, text , etc.) and was hoping for something as simple. Ah well, few more posts and I can post in another forum I guess
Could you elaborate a bit more, describe some details?
What is the problem with the other running apps, they can't all require rocket science to use?
I'm always looking for ideas for new apps...
If there is nothing already there that fits that purpose, i might be willing to invest some hours .

Sorry it took so long for a response, kinda lazy here
I'm looking for a general 'clock' app, analog clock dial face with touch-points all around the dial, inner circle is seconds, outer circle is minutes. Ability to set a specific time for a run (ex, 45 min) and then divide that time into run/rest periods (ie, 5min run, then 1 min rest) along the dial and even have differing periods in the run (ie, after fourth run of 5 min a 3 min rest then 8 min run, etc).
Would like ability to set notification sounds (pick sound/s) for each 'event' along the run that inturrupt music/etc the phone is playing but not crash/stop it.
If it takes off advance stuff like compass/gps etc can be added but I'm just looking for a glorified stopwatch (analog style, like the old huge clocks that had tabs you could slide around for laps and times etc at the pool or gym) so I don't have to hog my mothers 'Garman' running sattelite watch, lol.

Gtd app with custom recurrences?

I'm looking for a free gtd app that will let me easily specify custom recurrences. For instance, after trying several apps I can only specify recurrences for every day, every week, every month, etc. I found doit.im that let's me specify every 2 days or 3 days or whatever number I enter but the app seems a tad clunky. Maybe I just need to get used to it. Anybody know
of a good one that has a widget and allows for recurring tasks that I can schedule for every other day and every three days etc?
I have Astrid, maybe it allows for that and i'm just not figuring it out. Thanks for suggestions.
Sent.
Ok, im a nincompoop. I figured out how to use Astrid to specify every other day tasks. Anybody know if there is a way to only show on the widget what is due today?
EDIT:: lmao! I spoke too soon again.I found the 'hide until' option in Astrid. Mods, feel free to close/delete this sorry excuse of a topic my sorry.

Alarm Clock Anyone?

Another epic fail for Microsoft - seems the surface RT OS does not have any alarm clock functions (unless it's very well hidden). Seems to me that this is such a basic function in an OS that I find it surprising that Win RT does not have it - (both Android and IOS have a multiplicity of alarms available). Any solutions?
The store is full of different Alarm Clocks, many of them for Free.

Not a single one works because they must be running in the foreground and active - so when the tablet sleeps they become "deactivated" - this is apparently a fault of the OS. You can see this by reading some of the reviews.

I am sure it will get addressed. With App stores the need to bundle os apps is not needed anymore.

Could you use the calendar to set an alarm? That's kinda what I would have expected to use.

Unless the Calendar is running in the foreground (active) I do not think so. I am noticing that when the Surface sleeps, or when you switch from certain running apps to another, the first process shuts down - it's not 100% true but mostly so. Kind of defeats the purpose of having alarm or wake up functions of the app setting the alarm always has to be actively running.
I've tried 3 or 4 alarms in the store, they all work sporadically at best. To get the best results, I set the tablet not to sleep when the lid is closed or after X minutes while on power and left it plugged in and turned on all night.
The calendar seems to wait until the next time you turn the device on to update and show notifications.
I gave up having an alarm on the Surface, it seemed a bit too unreliable to me.
You could try using Windows scheduled tasks; that's what I did for an alarm on my PC the few times I needed one. No idea if Scheduled Tasks will do Connected Standby, though. In fact, I'd guess that they won't.

Right, connected tasks will not work - I cannot believe that Microsoft still can't come to grips with background apps - even Apple allows these to run. I mean you cannot even stream music with the screen off except with the poorly designed internal music app. Alarms (or the lack of thereof) have plagued MS since the early days of WinCE - it's no wonder that MS has failed big time in the mobile sector. Whoever at Microsoft thinks Win RT is a multitasking OS is nuts.
Well, end of rant - do you suppose there's a workaround on the horizon?

windows RT is multitasking just in the Microsoft way. The act of app suspension and app killing takes the burden of open apps away from the user into the OS managed space (even iOS does this), however you should be looking at the display being off as suspend, I can understand them not letting apps other than their own preventing the system from suspending, otherwise anyone could write an app that is going to give you horrible battery life on your surface that never sleeps.

Not sure that i buy this - I can set an alarm on my Iphone 4S and then let the screen go off (sleep) - in the morning it will wake me up and of course, battery life is fantastic. Same goes for Android. On Win RT how bad would the battery life be if MS had a simple alarm clock running in the bkgnd - I mean I'm not asking to run Halo while it'as sleeping!

That was more in regards to third party music apps. With the alarm clock though if you take notice they will both be first party apps.
i assume that anyone needing or owning a tablet alreay own a smart phone, why the heck that ppl moan about things like alarms, and camera and etc. these features increase price. i wud happily purchase a cheaper surface with no camera, alarm, radio, gps, and so on, cos thats what my smartphone is for. the tablet is for proper work and entertainment. but hey opinions differ

The alarm wouldn't increase price of the tablet at all, and it's such a basic feature that there's really no excuse for MS not having it.

I don't understand these posts where people tell you how to use your device from a practical sense. I know people who use alarms on tablets so why should you tell us it shouldn't be a feature. Personally my daughter uses her android tablet all the time as an alarm clock next to her bed, while her phone is in the other room charging at night. I also would use the alarm on a Surface as I don't always keep every device I own at arms reach.
Saw the same argument about not having GPS on the Surface -I can see people wanting a GPS on a bigger screen like a tablet. So let's not judge everybody's use . : .
Calendar reminders/notifications for sure work when the device is in sleep mode.
I often hear my Surface at night in the room next door, or from my back-pack when traveling. It even allows you to "snooze". If it is very convenient as an alarm clock I do not know. It is kind of a hassle to set-up I guess.
MS in general does know how to do it of course, the native alarm app on the Windows Phones (7 and 8) works flawless and has been my best mate in the past years when traveling. It has only let me down once, but that was because the battery of the phone ran flat during the night.....
I was not aware of the "problem" of the Alarm Clock apps in the suspend state. It kinda defeats the purpose of the app if it does not run when the Surface and its owner are sleep mode...

I'm more referring to the fact that it is a windows tablet, and this isn't a complaint that people have had with previous versions of windows, even on tablets. It is a use case that Microsoft have probably never even thought about.
