I ordered today TC from UK and completely forgot about it until payment has been executed. What kind of electricity do you guys in UK use? Continental Europe uses 220 V / 50 Hz. What kind of power adapter is included with TC? Is it auto switch? In worst case - will I be able to buy a "spare" HTC Touch or TytnII adapter and use it with my TC?
Thanks for your help

UK as the same as continental, also you can charge it from a USB port.
Also, all electronic devices work with multiple voltages, viz - http://www.htc.com/product/03-product_htctouch_cruise.htm
Voltage range/frequency: 100 ~ 240V AC,
50/60Hz
DC output: 5V and 1A

Don't worry, we use 240v, but due to eu law our supply has to be +/- 10% of 230v inline with the rest of Europe. That is what the "CE" stands for on all electrical goods. with regard to the Hz cycle, to my knowledge, all countries in the world are between 50-60 Hz. The Uk is 50 the US is 60. This is the cycle that the electricity is generated on. It is the most efficient cycle. All you need is an adapter.......I hope this helps.................
Kind Regards,
Will
Thank you both for a quick reply. You saved my day. Also, I completely forgot about possibility of charging via USB. I really don't know where did it come to my mind that UK uses the same power as USA. Thank god I'm saved now. ;-)

Hi! I just received a fully functional HTC Himalaya, but unfortunately it didn't came with a Travel Charger included.
So I would want to make one, because they are hard to find, and on ebay the shipment takes a very long time.
I have searched the forum (and on googgle) but i cannot find the power supply specifications for the charger.
If you have one, please take a photo or type the specs, like this :
INPUT : 100-240V ~ 150 mAH 50-60 Hz
OUTPUT : 4.9V 700mAH (copied from a Sony Ericsson charger, LOL )
Thanks in advance!
Since this is the Himalaya forum, nobody has a Himalaya ?!?
Weird...
Really? Nodoby with a Himalaya ?!?!?!?!
58 replies and no response. WTF ?!?
Ok, found this image, but can't read the specs (too small)
5V 2000mAH ? CLICK HERE!
5volts is the only spc that matters
amps are not pushed into a device it's drawn by the device
according to owns law amp=volts/resistance
no device will draw more then it was max made to
so you can get a 5volts 1000000MAmp supply and it would make no difference
there is a lower amp level before it begin to charge but being that you can get
manual chargers with a swing it should be soo low it irrelevant
about the 5volts then that's in general seen as 5volts +-20%
Thanks for your reply.
I know that the ampers ar not so important, but i would like to know the standard value for a genuine HTC charger.
From what i see in the picture, it is a 5V 1280mAH.
That means that if i try to use a 5V 650mAH charger (that i currently have) the charging will be done 2 times slower.
So instead of 2 hours 30 minutes (for example) the phone will pe fully charged in 5 hours (quite a lot of time, in my perspective).
What do you think?
I think the charger that comes with the xda2 is overpowered vs. now much power the device will take in think thats the general deal with all wall chargers
usb will only provide 500mA
could take a look on my old charger apart that it's in the back of the cupboard so have to go passed tons of cables fans chargers and the likes so not right now
I want to buy a phone from USA and i was wondering if it will be a problem when i`ll charge it in Europe
The problem i`m thinking about is Europe`s 220V electricity socket vs the US 120V
Just using a European charger for that phone should be enough, right?

the charguer of the majory of the devices are compatibles... you should to look at the specifications...
in US the electricity its running at 60 hz..in the rest at 50 hz...
in the charguer may stay written 50-60 hz accepted
and the voltage in theory all the charguers acept since 100v to 240v
no problem
and the most important thing... ensure you that the intensity (A) its the same in the output...
Hey Guys!!
I live in India, and was thinking of getting the Sensation. Play.com has it for pre-order. But before I could get it, there's this question :
In India, the electricity is 220 volts AC. So, will the charger work on this voltage ? If not, is there any other way to work around it ?
Thanks !!
maxx
You can propably buy an MicroUSB-charger outputting 1A from India if needed?
I ordered my Nexus from USA to Finland, they have 110V and we have the same 220V as you, all I needed to do is I got a plug that converted the USA plug to Finnish one.
You might also want to take a look on Nokia AC-8 charger, it is quite high quality with great output.

+1
In addition, all HTC wall chargers I have seen, their input voltage is from 100-240. Meaning that it'll work on any voltage.
Thanks for the answers both of you
I've just bought this tablet from Amazon.de to be shipped to me in the UK - it's likely to come with a Euro style power adapter, so I need to buy a UK equivalent.
Can someone tell me what the specs of the adapter are?
I'm guessing 5v @ either 1 or 2 amps...?
Thanks!

The charger is quite special I think.
Attached is a picture of mine. (Euro.)
5v @ 2A or 15v @ 1.2A (Yes it has two ratings?)

I have no idea when it runns what though, or even what pins it applies it to. It may be some odd propriatary system...
Edit:
It seems to be related to USB 3.0 and some extra pin.
Normal USB 2.0 plugs will activate the 5v charge, while a USB 3.0 plug with some fiddly shorting or something can activate 15v.
More power through a thin wire
Edit2:
It's the same adapter as for the Prime apparantly.
Ok, cheers.
I guess I'll buy a travel adapter instead - I can use the original psu then, instead of trying to find a replacement straightaway.

Hello
I've just bought 4 of the quick chargers for in the car.
They are the Incipio car chargers.
They were not cheap but I can't find any in the UK.
I have bought 4. I'm thinking that some of you UK note 4 users/lovers will want one of these, considering how they are just not available over here in the UK at all yet!
Let me know if you are interested. £30 including postage.
£30 for a car charger seems a tad steep......
A tad steep indeed
They are costing me that much. I did think that myself but then I thought I'd buy 4 and spread the shipping cost to bring the price down.
Actually I've just checked and Incipio have charged me 132.96 US dollars.
So I think that works out at about 20 each. I'll sell them for £25 Inc postage within the UK. If I don't sell them then I'll just get a mains adapter for car adapters so that I can use them in the house.
Arrived and working great. I'm looking for £25 each plus postage - basically cost price (give or take). UK requests only
I'm trying to convince the seller to allow me to be a UK distro but we'll see on that one!
At 25 quid a pop i can't see you distributing too many of them.....
Agreed. I bought the 4 just to have one myself in the car, use one with a mains adapter as a substitute fast charger at work, sell the other two at cost price (see earlier post). I'm hoping that the price will come down. The thing is that the tech is different. These use 5v and 9v output. It is this which is the fast charge element.
I have tested the charger. With sat navigation on it charges at 55 to 65% an hour. With the screen off this goes up to 85% an hour.
These figures are achieved when the Note 4 is at 30% battery.

How much for one if I collected mate? I'm working in London all week this week. Cheers.
At £20 I lose money and at £25 I make a little. I'm not interested in making money so £22 if you're collecting. I'm at a conference in Moorgate today but can meet after. PM me.
PM sent.
Can't get a rise out of you on PM. Do you want my money!? Either way, let me know so I'm not awaiting a reply and I'll look elsewhere. Cheers!
Received on Monday. Many thanks mate. Notice an immediate improvement in charge time over my old Proporta 2amp bog standard charger.
Do you still have any up for sale?
Yes there is one left. Still sealed in the box. Email me marcyspark at gmail dot com
Incipio car chargers i dont find that good at all because they are picky with what devices uou are charging. If you use any adapters to charge other devices the charge rate drops considerably
It's charging my HTC ONE M8 just fine at 8v (probably actually 9v but accounting for loss through the pass through multimeter) steady with current varying from 2.0-0.5a largely depending on how full the battery is. Seems QC2.0 will alter the current at stages. <=80%ish it pulls a higher current. >80%ish it starts decreasing to almost 0.1a at times. Not sure why exactly but what I can say is QC2.0 is noticeably faster then a bog standard 2a charger. Like, really noticeable. I'm impressed.
still hunting a QC 2.0 car charger
