How Skyfire Beta is being sent out - General Topics

Here is my email to Skyfire
Dear Skyfire,
I've noticed that the sign up form for the private beta has changed numerous times since the first unveiling of Skyfire. I signed up using the original form that just asked for a name, email, and phone number and was wondering if it was necessary for me to sign up again using the new form that asks for more information? I am really looking forward to testing out Skyfire and helping to perfect what looks like the best mobile browser period, so a clarification on this would be awesome.

Scott,
No worries about the form changing on the website as all the sign ups will be processed in first signed-up, first invited regardless of data entered on the website. Obviously, since our private beta initially supports Windows Mobile phones in the US, those people will be able to download first. Soon we will verify the beta sign ups with an SMS message that includes a link that when clicked it verifies the phone type for us. Windows mobile phone users will be invited to download and others will be notified later when we support their phone.
The response has been tremendous and we will be inviting as many Windows Mobile beta sign ups to download as quickly as we can support.

I signed up for it on Jan. 28 still nothing yet.. when did you sign up?

Got my confirmation email Jan. 28 at 10:24 AM PST. Still haven't received anything yet.

I got my confirmation at 1/29/2008 7:16:29 A.M. Eastern Standard Time. I guess you all are going to be invited before me.

I signed up and got my confirmation on Feb 3. Just received my invite on May 12. It's possible they are also rolling out the beta based on region (area code)??? But they are indeed still sending out invites. Be patient.

its a very screwy and annoying method .. imo if the beta is ready than everyone should be able to download and test ... extremely frustrated

It seems to take forever to get it. I signed up when it was first announced, and I just got it a couple of weeks ago.

Signed up early Feb from Canada. Got my invite last week. Its ok. Takes forever for pages to render properly. Good to use as a sometimes browser. Problem is that they didn't include support to download anything. Not even a picture.

It seems that Microsoft it still distributing activation codes.
I registered yesterday evening after seen posts on this site and the web site told me no more seats available...
... but don't be fooled. I got my got in my email tonight.

Me too. I doubt we'll see it.
I submitted a request to MS Deepfish site Thursday, was told none available, but got an e-mail with link and activation code Friday. Maybe requests are granted at random...or they just like me for some reason.

Droidshirts.com question (SOLVED)

Has anyone order shirts from droidshirts.com? I placed an order Feb 26 and today Mar 09 the order still says: processing. The website has no information on how to get customer service (it only says: "Design by WootRoot"). I've sent WootRoot a private message and an email through this forum and I haven't get any answer back.
Does anyone has any info on this website? Thanks.
I was considering buying a cyanogen shirt from them, but they all say 3XL, maybe they are out of stock of the size you ordered.

Got this email response yesterday to an order related question
"We are catching up on orders right now from when we wher hit with a snow storm, we should be producing a new batch of hoodies/shirts shortly in all sizes. Keep an eye out."
I'd say hang in there and give em a chance to catch up - maybe try resending an email

When I ordered there were 5 shirts on stuck (according to website). I have already send 2 emails and one PM to WootRoot andim still waiting for some response.

Just a quick Q - how long did people have to wait before getting a response from Asus r.e the keyboard addon? (this is via the [email protected] email)
I'd like not to miss out on the keyboard, but also don't want to spam them with mail re-sends.

When did you email please?
Let's see...emailed them 14th April, 16:26, got a reply back on the 15th 15:22 - ok, misremembered how long it took for them to reply, then.
Less than 24 hours for me
Took about a day and a half for me. I got the reply around 16:30 UK time.
I got my reply within a few minutes, however their responses are manual and constrained by working hours. I also emailed them within 10 mins of the offer being available, so they may be a bit busy at the moment (they have to auto generate an invoice and create a manual order etc as they normally don't sell direct to customers).
Check your spam folder just in case though.

I never got one, though I read in another thread that if you write and request confirmation, they will give it to you.

Gadget Shieldz SP delayed shipment - How to track?

Hello everybody,
I myself placed an order on GS's website on May 22nd and received a shipping confirmation mail on May 25th. This mail also states that the ETA should be about 14-18 business days, and in some cases it might take additional business days due to delays in customs clearance.
It's ok for me, and i've been waiting for over a full month since then. On June 14 and June 24 I sent them queries mail about delayed shipment and asked as if they can check the package for me. Those recieving addresses I sent to are [email protected]; [email protected] and [email protected]
But I've not recieved any info from them. Nothing at all!
I'm in Vietnam, GS's base is in India. I know that customers from certain countries have to wait longer due to customs clearance or something else.
However it's 34 days til now (26 business days) and I've not recieved any info about my package nor any reply mail from GS. I even don't know those email addresses above are inactive or not.
So, anyone here can give me some advices to contact GS or to solve my case?

As far as I am aware, they don't have tracking numbers as they offer free shipping. You could try contacting them on their Indian mail ID [email protected] and see if they respond. Just make sure to include your order number.

I've already done sending emails to their Indian mailbox as you stated but received nothing yet.
It's very annoying since that company always keeps silence to every of my contact.
So what can i do now?

I'm not familiar with online shopping enough to distinguish those method. But i am sure that I did not link my Paypal account to this transaction.
I entered my visa info directly to their website's shopping cart, and i thought they processed my order there.

They send in letter mode.
I think difficult to get track letter.
As a last resort, you can file a charge back with your bank. This will at least get your money back if you can't get a response from the company or your order.

Well imho tracking has no business to do with customer caring and responding to queries mails. My problem is i've not received anything including reply mails

I think it'll be a little hard since I do not have any documents aside from the invoice they sent to my mailbox. Moreover, i cannot prove that I've not received the package.
However, on July 6th (after nearly 1,5 months of waiting) they finally reply my queries saying that they'll resend me another package, and ask if my Shipping address still valid or not. That's quite good, and I'm hoping it will reach the "final destination" this time
Will add further information on this case soon.

Question Status for Everyone who Ordered/Received their device

I am not complaining in this post, I just wanted to see how everyone else was doing in getting their phone.
I ordered my phone on PDA Plaza.
I pre-ordered well before the Release Date (Jan 18.)
On the Product Page, it says "Ships within 10-15 business days after purchase". It has now passed 15 days.
I contacted support and waiting a response.
It has been almost a Month since i pre-ordered, and not a single email from PDA Plaza to update me on anything, even if its delayed.
I am starting to think perhaps a Refund is in order, and maybe look somewhere else.
If you've received your device, where are you Located? where did you Order from?

seems like Chinese New Year right now no one will be shipping until next week earliest vopmart says orders will be processed On the 10th I think. I'm getting tired of trying to obtain this phone thinking I might just keep my mate x2 collectors edition since gms and push notifications fully work anyway

I just want to ask how's everyone's order doing? I have placed an order on PDA plaza last January 28 and have yet to receive a tracking number for the order. I am in contact with customer service via email but they just keep promising that they expect to receive and ship the order after every week with different reasons; i.e. Chipset Shortages, Ukraine-Russian war (really?). At this point im beginning to tire in waiting and getting more anxious that i may have been scammed.

So, it is now almost 28 business days and no news. PDAPlaza mentioned that they should get it by tomorrow and will ship the same day, I don't think so. Placed order cancellation request.
I ordered mine (magic vs ) from alibaba and got it in 5 days.
