New SMS to a Frequently Used Contact - HTC Vox

I use text messages very frequently, and miss the basic functionality of having the list of recent contacts that you have SMS'ed...du-uh, WinMo . I typically text my girlfriend a lot, and it takes me about 9 clicks / ~15-18 seconds to create a new message with her mobile number in the "To" field
Thankfully, I stumbled upon a workaround on the e-natives website, which works great if there is one particular contact you send text messages to frequently.
1. Install SmartToolKit and launch it
2. Goto Start > Control > Gadgets
3. Click on Add > Shortcut
4. Under "File", click on "..." and browse to \Windows\tmail.exe
5. Under "Parameters", type the following text:
-transport "SMS" -to "Name <Number>"
where "Name" is the name of the person in the contact list, and "Number" is that person's mobile number
6. Under "Title", type whatever you want to call this new shortcut
All done. Now go the homescreen, press the backspace key, and press the number corresponding to the shortcut you created. You'll have a new message to a contact in 2 clicks / ~4 seconds. EUREKA

thats awesome thanx!
thats the typical girlfriend shortcut lol

Adding number from Call History to existing Contacts

hi
I want to add a number from Call History to one of my existing contacts (i.e, add to home telephone of an existing contact)
However, when hold and tap number in Call History, it open a new contact instead of letting us choose an existing contact
Any program that can let us do that
My device is O2 XDA IIi
Thanks
Tuan
There isn't any way around this, though maybe there will be in WM2005 or through a third party program.
It's something that annoys me, too. The way round it is to get it up as a New contact, then copy the number and cancel saving the contact, go to the correct contact and add it that way.
Bit long winded, but other than writing it down by hand or remembering it I don't think there's any other way.
Cheers
Ant
Hey Guys..
Simple trick....
Tap and hold the number in the call history
Then select option "Send Text Message"
Then copy/cut that Number and paste in the contacts
Then cancel the message
I hope, this sounds OK

How to add a new (unknown) number to an existing contact

Hi all, when I receive a phone call from an unknown number, I can open the
context menu for this call in my call history and create a new contact with this
new number. But is it possible to add this new number to an already
stored contact, like it is possible with Symbian devices?
Greetings and TIA, Matthias
Select "Send text message" from context menu then copy the number at "To:" box. Open new contact then paste the number from clipboard.
no "out of the box" solution, without clipboard?
since i was using the SEP900, it was very easy for me to that, but now i have to do it like the mentioned way.
i couldn't find a dirct way to do it.
too bad, but thx anyway!

Windows Mobile 6.1 Threaded Sms Question

In Windows Mobile 6.1 the sms was now threaded.
Which is good but i have some question
how to display the received time in the sms.cos for now it only show date.
thx
I have the same question.... Maybe show something like 2/13/08 5:32 PM next to each message in the thread would be excellent
I would also like to know how to delete an specific message from a thread. I tried click/hold, but only displays select all. There's no delete option for just one message.. only the complete thread.
Same thing here.. Can't delete specific sms.. the only thing that i can do is to delete the entire thread of sms.. =(

Click to collapse
While viewing the thread, use your D-pad (arrows) to select the desired message to delete, it will turn blue, then you can delete/forward/etc.. to that SMS, this is also the ONLY way you can forward a message.
what about searching all your texts? you used to be able to type in anything and search for any text with that word in it. it was so helpful and i dont think u can do it anymore any one know?
thanks for the information, kasush!
i have another question. when in inbox, the choices at the bottom are "delete" and "menu". would it be possible to replace "delete" with "new"?
Is there any way of removing the "threaded SMS" altogether
(i.e. go back to the traditional viewing options??
i did this on the universal but im sure it will work on all devices
Remove Threaded SMS & Return To Traditional SMS
Open a registry editor and navigate to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\
add a folder "OEM" (without the quote marks)
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\OEM\
add a dword value "SMSInboxThreadingDisabled" (without the quote marks)
and set it to 1
ta-da! you now have traditional SMS
using Mode sms for disabling threaded msg is much easy go here

SMS Folders
I'm unable to create SMS folders in WM 6.1. Option is disabled. It was very easy with Windows Mobile 6
Can´t ENABLE threaded view
I just got an Acer DX900 with WM6.1 pro and I noticed the sms inbox is shown in the old non-threaded view.
I´d like to use the threaded view I had before in my previous HTC phone.
I´ve checked and the registry key (SMSInboxThreadingDisabled) is not present so I don´t understand why the messages are not shown in threaded view.
Any ideas???
how to change number of SMS (is thread view) displaying on one site (default 12) to other number?
SMS for configuring MMS
Hi all,
my provider (t-mobile germany) have a service to automaticly configure internet and mms on windows handys.
he sends a sms, which I have to "install". This worked on my old windows versions. but in the new one, with threaded sms, the question to install the configuration, don't apear.
Do anyone know, how to install this configuration sms?
greetings from germany.
Harry
The easiest way to change your sms from threaded to the original (classic) individual messages is to go your system settings (start menu, settings, system tab). There should be an icon for text messaging, in there you can switch between classic and threaded.

People Tab - Add SMS Link?

Hey guys,
I was wondering if its possible to add a sms button next to the little phone button below a contact in the "Peoples" Tab in TF3D...???
It would be great not to tap the contact and have the Microsoft contact window popup and then do "send text message"...
When you add a contact to that page, you can select the "Send a text..." from the contact's lists instead of their cell/work/home #. It will then take you to the SMS composer when you tap the line under their picture.
Unfortunately, you can't have more than 1 of any contact in there, so you can't have one for calling and one for texting. Hopefully someone will find a way to extend the functionality a bit more... maybe the next TF3D revision?

Asus email app - select text?

Is there no way to do this? Often I want to select text from one email to copy into another, or want to significantly edit a forwarded email thread. I tap away an nothing comes up to allow me to select text - unlike with documents.
IGNORE - found it, but it is cranky
