Is there no way to do this? Often I want to select text from one email to copy into another, or want to significantly edit a forwarded email thread. I tap away an nothing comes up to allow me to select text - unlike with documents.
IGNORE - found it, but it is cranky

hi
I want to add a number from Call History to one of my existing contacts (i.e, add to home telephone of an existing contact)
However, when hold and tap number in Call History, it open a new contact instead of letting us choose an existing contact
Any program that can let us do that
My device is O2 XDA IIi
Thanks
Tuan
There isn't any way around this, though maybe there will be in WM2005 or through a third party program.
It's something that annoys me, too. The way round it is to get it up as a New contact, then copy the number and cancel saving the contact, go to the correct contact and add it that way.
Bit long winded, but other than writing it down by hand or remembering it I don't think there's any other way.
Cheers
Ant
Hey Guys..
Simple trick....
Tap and hold the number in the call history
Then select option "Send Text Message"
Then copy/cut that Number and paste in the contacts
Then cancel the message
I hope, this sounds OK
I use text messages very frequently, and miss the basic functionality of having the list of recent contacts that you have SMS'ed...du-uh, WinMo . I typically text my girlfriend a lot, and it takes me about 9 clicks / ~15-18 seconds to create a new message with her mobile number in the "To" field
Thankfully, I stumbled upon a workaround on the e-natives website, which works great if there is one particular contact you send text messages to frequently.
1. Install SmartToolKit and launch it
2. Goto Start > Control > Gadgets
3. Click on Add > Shortcut
4. Under "File", click on "..." and browse to \Windows\tmail.exe
5. Under "Parameters", type the following text:
-transport "SMS" -to "Name <Number>"
where "Name" is the name of the person in the contact list, and "Number" is that person's mobile number
6. Under "Title", type whatever you want to call this new shortcut
All done. Now go the homescreen, press the backspace key, and press the number corresponding to the shortcut you created. You'll have a new message to a contact in 2 clicks / ~4 seconds. EUREKA
thats awesome thanx!
thats the typical girlfriend shortcut lol
I can't figure out why when I open an email or SMS, the message opens at the bottom of the page so I need to scroll up to read. Also, when I open emails I am unable to use the D-pad to choose the email address at the top of the message or highlight the addresses or links within the email. I was able to do this until recently but it won't do it now. I can't think of anything I did to make it behave this way. Any help would be great!!
Hi, is it possible to adjust or modify the Pop up Menu Windows Size? I currently have total of 6 templates on Messaging/SMS, most of them are too long and each are containing information that I'm planning to send every day via SMS.
Lets say every template has 30 to 100 characters, and when I'm trying to "Insert template" on the "Compose" field on the SMS, I'm getting FC on the Messaging app, maybe the app can't handle the massive character count on my templates.
I have tried the Gesture Trace feature for the Templates, it's working but it's not that accurate, sometimes it would mess up the composition field that it would insert 2 or 3 templates with one gesture that i make.
Right now, the method that I'm using is using a Notepad app, that i would just edit it and - select all text - and copy, that does the job. I really can't use of its features to share or send it via SMS because of the nature that most of the time, i need to send those info via reply to an anonymous number (not saved on my contacts).
So is it possible to adjust the pop up menu window on the compose field so that when i choose "Insert Template" it would display all of my templates? I'm thinking that those long templates are the cause of the Messaging FC.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
I'm currently using Android NAND on HD2 (Gingerbread Hyperdroid CM7)
and by the way, leaving only 1 template gives me no FCs anymore... anyone?
Got what i wanted thru GoSMS, but would love to know if there is a workaround for the native SMS app. TIA!
I am attempting to moddify the stock SecMail.apk on my Sprint GS3 to allow an option only currently available from within a message. From the main email screen you have the option to select accounts (if you have more than one), compose messages, or refresh. Once a message is selected (checked) a new set of options is available....flag messages, delete messages, and a sub menu that allows you to move or mark as read/unread.
What I want to do is add the option to forward one or more selected messages from that that sub menu. I am having a difficult time tracking down the xml/smali that holds the code to this sub menu and its features. Can someone chime in and let me know if I am chasin a ghost or if this is actually doable? Any hints tricks or info to help this MOD would be great!
Thanks,
