Tmail.exe not opening??

Hi encountered this problem in WM6 Roms i dont know whats causing this and if there is any remedy besides hard reset which is a bummer. . .
i dont know the time frame but all of a sudden the messaging or tmail.exe application in my wizard does not want to open all of a sudden. it doesnt even have the wait indicator. . .
is there a solution to this? or anyone encountered this and might know the reason? im using xplore 1.1 by the way. great rom but i really wanna fix that problem. also note that i also expirienced this in most beutiful, muns, and faria.
hope someone can help me to find out why this is happening to avoid it or to have a fix.

first of all thanks for the great ROM man! Great Work.
i think that problem is a random thing. . i have cleared the storage and deleted the temp files manually and restored the backup i produced from SPB backup (it doesnt work the first time i tried it but since i will not take no for an answer!) it worked!
i keep my wizard shut for the whole day could this also be an added factor? ah well at least my wizard is ok again!
anichillus when can we expect an updated version? wondering what new tricks are waiting for us hehe.

My messaging app won't open on my Wizard either, just started a few hours ago. I'm running stock WM5.
I'd rather not hard reset, as I don't have backup software yet (I just got the phone a week ago)... did you ever figure out what the problem was? What temp files or registry settings can I check?

did you try to restart the phone? maybe some program just got stock?
I specifically deleted the Temp Folder for email attachment. . although i fixed mine i dont really have an idea on what went wrong. . . sorry i cannot directly help you.

Fortunately, I got things sorted out. Resetting wasn't solving anything, but I figured out that removing my memory card would fix the issue.
I have Outlook set to save attachments to the memory card. It looks like a file got corrupt or something, and was locking the program up. I deleted the folders from the card where attachments were stored, and things are working well again.
(This was after two hard resets and restores from Spb backup... gonna have to buy that program)

Read the forum a lot. there are a lot of tricks here to let you enjoy the full capacity of your phone. . . when well read try Windows Mobile 6 just need to read the instructions first.

I had this problem too on my HTC Touch ELFIN WM 6.0. The folder on SD card used for storing attachments got corrupted. Deleting the folder solved the problem. Removing the storage card would solve it too. This is because tmail.exe checks for storage card and because it doesnt find one it creates a new folder called "Storage Card" in the phone memory and uses that to store attachments. If you then put in your SD card that would become "Storage Card 2". Of course this means that all your shortcuts to stuff on SD card will be broken.

The ROM has 63.XXmb FREE storage and 31.XXmb free RAM with SD.
EDIT: Free RAM went down to 29.x with SD with this build... not sure why, yet.
To flash it you MUST have a HardSPL'ed Herald or Wing and a microSD card. Just place the HERAIMG.nbh into the SD card's root directory. Do NOT rename it to anything else. Then hold the camera button down while you turn on the device and then press the volume down slider when it asks you to. Wait until it says it's done. I haven't tried to run any activesync other than to an exchange server so tell me if that isn't working.

The only thing UPXed are some files in the CommManager. I might UPX some more to gain even more space, but I have to be careful so that I don't break anything.

It will show up as CE OS 5.2.19199 (Build 19209.1.0.2)
This is, presumably, because the XIP is from 5.2.19199 and the SYS folder if from 19209.1.0.2. Unless that IS the build for that OS version. I thought it wasn't, though...
EDIT: The zcink edition lacks x-button/taskmanager but adds internet sharing. (As well as a little extra free space.)
EDIT2: Thanks to shep211 for finding this for people who are having problems formatting this with their SD cards.

Without SD it does gain a little bit of extra memory. Not really much.

How about removing the HTC x-button, not necessary in a Clean ROM I think.
Ok, ok, I don't like that app anyway, BatteryStatus or pBar are good or better alternatives.

I prefer the x button. I'll remove it and I might upload after that. I will not include BatteryStatus or pBar on this release. That will be something you can add yourself in the kitchen.
BTW, I used an older version of Arcsoft in order to save space, but it still works with MMS just fine. Also, it's set to Tmobile's network, I forgot to include the Network Wizard.

I agree, BS or pBar should not be preinstalled on a clean ROM.
About NetCF I'm not so sure but I will see how many apps run straight away or not.
Network Wizard might be important for some, i don't need it as I have all my customizations and settings in a CAB file.
UC readiness is obliged, especially for a clean ROM otherwise every hard reset is more than a torture here.

What do you mean? In your own ROM? Just strip the ROM of a LOT of unecessary stuff and flash it, along with a shrunk down ExtROM through an SD card.

Unfortunately without Internet Sharing I'm dead in the water. I had to flash back to another rom. There does not exsist a cab file for Internet Sharing -- at least not one that works.
T-Mobile is my only ISP.
It can do without X-Button also.

Follow the reply I gave you already. Get to know every file in your ROM, what it does and what you need to have. Remove, optimize, etc.
The ExtROM was shrunk using WinImage after I removed all files from it using a ExtROM editor from xda.
I'm not home right now, so I can't give you too many details. (My tools aren't here with me.)

Nice to see I'm the only one who needs Internet Sharing baked in. I would be really great if someone came up with a cab file that works but apparently its not possible.

Reflashing Phone - what are your essentials?

Just curious what peoples essentials are on this unit?
I have been having problems with my handset for some time now, and the memory card *appears* to be corrupt.
So doing a back up of all call logs, messages etc, and going to hard reset.
I will then attempt to update it to 6.1 *wasnt working before*
My Requirements?
Internet
Sat Nav
Games
Clean Theme (like a nice subtle black)
Alarm
Back Up Utility
So What would you guys recomend for the above and what cool features/tweaks can I do with this phone?

excuse my ignorance, but i see WWE is just the same as an HTC rom with the latest software, is this correct, no other changes?
Secondly, I currently run an 02 ROM, would i notice many differences and how would i go about getting my internet settings (Currently there is an application that retrieves these for me)

i would say 2 apps i couldnt do without are no longer hosted on here but are g-alarm and g-profile found at www.ageye.de
Also if you want to 'risk' flash (read this) 3LIT3 as i was running the o2 6.1 rom since release till about a month ago and although it is better than the 6.0 rom it is much faster the 3LIT3 rom is superior to the official releases that have been made. Also on the settings front i was afraid of this and made sure i had them before i flashed but then they are installed automatically in customisation (with either officail or 3LIT3).
Sat nav i am guessing that you are using copilot in which case there is a releated piece on how to do this when you download the o2 rom from their site.
Back-up utility i would say either spb backup - but i have heard of problems going over from 6 -> 6.1 roms with using backup software so i say sync up before and copy any import docs that you have on their before you go to flash.

Well i managed to flash the unit with some interesting measures.
Long story short, I couldn't get into boot loader (Still can't) but when i ran 02 6.1 rom RUU it took it to the bootloader (just vista wouldn't work) so after some hunting i found a driver which worked, well sort of lol.
And then it worked, well for the 02 6.1 release any way.
Tried Co-pilot still having issues,
Tried memory card files, still problems - i think my memory card is knackered and some of copilot is configured there so will explain why this is failing!
Co-pilot was on the rom, presume that if it did load i would have to re-register but think i might opt for tomtom now, was never a fan of copilot.
Other than that i ran PPCPim backup which works really well for calls logs, messages etc. had no critical documents on there but did forget to back up my pictures - oh well no real loss!
Is there a way to format an SD from the device its self?

I have got to say i am NOT impressed with 6.1 from 02 its so slow! my ringtone doesn't even play properly.
Edit jesus this is rubbish, i mean seriuosly really buggy have i done something wrong because they couldnt have put this out as RTM surely?! please some one tell me i am wrong.
My ringtone stutters for goodness sake, i clicked data connection and the connection tab is now overlaying everything and won't go away!?

Hi there, Do a Hard Reset and start over again installing your PIM backup, GPS, any other things you normally use. Your GPS setup files are on the SD card in '2577' folder. Unless you have the CD media do not format your SD card, you will lose your GPS setup files.

The problem is I cannot transfer anything else to the memory card, I cannot install apps to the memory card.
Sometimes it looks like they have transferred but when i open storage card up on the device it's just the normal settings and nothing that I have transferred.
This is limiting me hugely, I cannot put mp3's, mp4's on my phone, I
cannot install games, I am left with just the basics.
Im going to buy an 4GB card today and see if that resolves things

Ah, finally a newer build ROM
So what's new with this ROM?

This rom is a good , move quickly, at least the drivers are super good joystick, but it is a rom usual, has nothing spectacular.
In my opinion too few programs preinstalled and too little available memory.
A bug: can not set the ring tones on the card!

This rom is great so far. It works great with the bluetooth keyboard which is a huge plus.. Fast boot time. Thanks.

cotulla sez it wont work on tornado..

Rom works great, excellent stability and the joystick works much better now, still not perfect but much easier to work with, definitely worth flashing.

Yes, I can confirm that it does not work by running the cab file. I installed and tested a 4gb.

is there any way to change the system font size? its just too large and some things are even cut off, an example would be in the clear storage screen you cant even read what to type in. it would be a great rom if the sizes were like the ones in Eval's clean rom

Thanks for a great release... just updated my SP5m from NiTroGen to this and I must say the speed is better and faster. So is the slick new interface.
I am yet to test the Wifi.
I noticed that the interface color scheme is different in few sections.. like Start>Settings>Phone>Call Forwarding etc. These screens still have the blue feel.
I am sure this cook will mature further and add niftty apps like moble config, key configurator etc.

Ok, I make this simple and straight to the point, but first a little bit of explanation way i need the following help.
I made a personal stable rom a few months ago, and then i installed Manilla then i got the restart issue. (My Wing keeps restarting if the storage card is in.) And i wanted a very stable ROM for me to use, so i decided to make a better ROM, instead of flashing the same ROM i used before. Well, the rest is pretty explanatory, because everyone Flasher, knows that it is through trial and error that we make a stable ROM, i am almost getting my Stable ROM again. But i need a bit of help that i couldn't fix alone.
(Especial for Tribu, if you read this. Which I know you kind of will if you have the time) 1. I need a HTC Task manager, but i am using build 28232 and as you know ,if you have seen that build, it doesn't have the HTC Task Manager in the up right corner, because the clock is located there, so i would like to HTC Task manager to be Bottom corner like Tribu, did in his SD ROM.
2.My Comm Manager is currently 10 button Comm Manager by Tao a.k.a kaiser Comm Manager (10 Buttons), the letter become extremely small for some reason after a few Soft Reset which i have to do just to make sure if it is working alright. Unfortunately I cannot give you the software I used because I was told not to redistribute the software. But I cannot stop you from unpackaging my ROM and looking through the software that I used
If you search the terms "Task Manager" (without the quotes) I am sure that you'll also find what I used.
I also recommend using build 23545 or higher as it uses a different dll setup than the previous builds. Thus being more stable
Now you can also change the font of your ROMs, for instance, download fonts that you want to use and then rename them to the fonts that I have in THIS cab file.

I tried build 23545,(Since I really like your work) while building 28232 ROM, yes it's stable, but I assumed that the latest Builds would be catergorized by the ascending number, so I thought 28232 which was the highest build in the Ervius Kitchen would be the most Stable, obivously, latest isn't always the best. Nevertheless, I really am limited with my Wing, because I to rearrange my Phone stuff, so everytime i flash a new ROM, i rearrange which have gotten anoyying by now. I on the edge of getting this one to suit me, but if i get any problems that can only be solved by Re-Flashing i will work on 23545.
Also, where can I find fonts for my Wing?

Well, you can search Google.com for fonts.
But for the latest builds, you can search HERE for the latest build files.
You can use version 0.9 of Ivan's kitchen to unpackage a ROM too.

Ok, ill download Ivan kitchen and check out ur ROM, also, I installed ur Font but my Comm Manager is still messed up, i suppose it is the Comm Manager itself. Perhaps i can see if Tao have a fix for this.

I used to have the same problem with the storage card. I found that if you pop out the storage card until the 1st splash screen goes away, then put it back in while the phone is still booting, it's loads as normal. Wait to long and apps on the card won't load correctly and the icons won't show up.

Yeah, i figured that too =D, but I would rather sacrifice manilla than having to pop in and out my Storage card ={ I mean, Wing should have A LOT of storage and program memory.... We shouldn't have to deal lack of memory from the wing.
