hi to all.its been quite a while that i have gone to search methods of upgrading prophet but since i a a newbie, i a overwhelmed with great post of doing this and doing that to upgrading..now i am a bit confuse on where to start.. i have downloaded much of the upgrading tools like awizard, shelltool, etc..but i do not know on how to begin...
i have a dopod 818, a G4.. with IPL & SPL 2.15.0001 GSM 02.17.0001 and OS 2.15.13.24....my problem is on how to change the language to english because it is in chinese.. i have tried backing up the ROMs through SDcard but it does go through..next thing i thought maybe its CID lock.because i have read that it will not backup if it is CID lock...correct me if i am wrong?
i have read also of shelltool of which you could upgrade your ROM without touching IPL and SPL stuff but if my dopod is cid lock, would it not be brick?
i am trying to do this hopefully by myself..but please help me on where to start..i just want my dopod in english..
thanks and sorry.... I am a newbie..

The reconstruction process can be done only for the OS part...
You can't extract the radio or SPL from the device, you need a shipped ROM to get this two parts.
Read this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=335568 to get more info, but as for i know, no Orange shipped ROM is out, so you can't get the original SPL.
Cheers.
Hi,
I read the wiki and lot of thread again and again, but i never find answer to my question.
Is it possible to dump the original SPL from a french SFR V1615 (kaiser) ?
Or can i download it frm wda or another forum ?
I want it for the waranty. I read the thread for ATT and HTC, but i haven't got the original SPL with the original Splash screen :/
A friend got the V1615 and i can dump his SPL if is it possible
hard to believe that u didn't find anything.. don't know how u r searching. there is a whole tutorial on this and

did you read my reply??? didn't i suggest you read the forum beyond the first page?? didn't i say look up bengalih???
stop the habit of spoon feeding now and it will save you alot of flaming later:
if you had done what i said you would have found this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=396235
which has a link to this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=335568
which has instructions on how to extract spl from any rom (although it tells you how to get it from a htc or att rom you can use same process of spl extracting for any rom).
read, read, read, and than search, search, search.
i'm not very good in english, but this thread explain the return to te original spl (if i understand everything). but i haven't got the original SPL! And no SFR rom got the spl (i try to extract the *.nbh, and never got the file)
I want to "download" the spl from another v1615 ( a friend got one)
Sorry again, but i didn't see the method in the thread :/
I see the reverting back and the SPL extracting when the spl is in a rom.
Thanks you all genius for bringing so much fun to the world.
Back to the topic. I've one TyTN II with original HTC CHT 6.0 ROM with it. I want to change it to the original HTC WWE 6.1. Without using HardSPL, is it possible to work it out in the following way?
1. Extract the SPL in the original WWE ROM
2. Use SSPL-KAIS to flash the SPL into Kaiser
3. Flash the ROM
Referring to sirsycho's guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=335568, it said the ROM should be flashed first for reverting back progress, but without putting HardSPL in it, how to get it done? Or should the progress be
1. Apply HardSPL
2. Flash
3. Write the original SPL back using SSPL-KAIS
Thanks very much for your guidance

Actually I found this note from speedbird http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=397550
In fact I should follow up the post.. sorry for opening a new post...
Anyway just want to ask if it is possible to revert back to the original HTC SPL after the flashing progress (or as the final step)?
or is HardSPL the must during the whole procedure?
Thanks
hardspl is for mostly flashing cooked roms. if u r upgrading a official rom by htc to another official rom by htc (for same device) u don't need hardspl.
but it is good to have.
please give me unlock method for herald (htc p4350).

Well if you'd follow the steps online, it should work just fine. Many others have done it before. I can't find a guide for you, I've got some real work to do, but I'm sure you'll find a guide within minutes of searching.
