BOUNTY! HTC Touch Keyboard/Keypad .cab w/Norwegian - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Windows Mobile ROM De

Hi
There's a couple different HTC Touch keyboard/keypad .cabs floating about, but so far none with full support for my own language (Norwegian). I am a total newb when it comes to making cabs, but since there's already cabs out there with other linguas I can hardly believe it will be very difficult to make a cab with a few spesific languages.
So, here's deal. I will paypal this awesome bounty of 15$ aka "beer money" (not much but I'm unemployed, broke, my fiancé of 8 years and I just decided we'll go separate ways AND I'm horribly bored ) to the person who can make a .cab that installs the HTC Touch keyboard/keypad + English and Norwegian xt9 (additional languages might be an idea, but moderation please if you're really feeling like making a killer cab, size matters too) and so forth and makes it work on a Kaiser.
I will of course expect this .cab to be offered to the public through these forums.
You can find the dumped? files here that's needed (or so I believe).
www.mindovermadness.org/HTC_KeyBoard_DualOEM_multi.rar
Also, the .cab on Duttys FTP with the HTC Touch Keyboard that should be possible to break down for paths etc.
http://www.cinetsystems.com/xda/Kaiser Cab Collections/HTC Touch Keyboard + Keypad.cab
I hope someone will be so kind as to look into this and become my personal XDA hero. Also I am sorry if I somehow have misunderstood the concept of a bounty, offended anyone or offered a ridicilously low sum of money. I come from a land of ice and snow, my brain is numb and thats my excuse!
/Mac

I have tried to do fix that, I got a oem package with the norwegian files, even the scandinavian layout is in it.
But I have had no success, im no coder
But I upped the package, and if any guru will look into it, that would help alot

It must be pretty basic stuff, I figured I can make it work myself simply by some creative renaming and overwriting files on a previous install from one of the existing cabs, but its hardly viable when you flash your phone every week

Think I did it
I have managed to make an installable cab with english, danish, norwegian and swedish HTC Keyboard + Keypad layout, and with working xt9/t9 dictionaries. I have installed it on my own HTC Touch (P3450) and tested all four languages with success. When nordic languages are chosen, the keyboard (not keypad) have the nordic letters on them, so the bitmap files should be right as well.
OJ

Thank you If you want the bounty, pm me your paypal!

nice work, thx
one thing or two though
keypad dont display æøå but keyboard is workin perfectly
i dunno how to explain this correctly, but in textwriting æøå works (in keyboard) but when opening them ouside like in.ex programs folder, it show only english qwerty, any suggestions?
Many has been waiting for this, great work

I've discovered a number of bugs/glitches in this .cab, see the thread at
http://forum.smartmobil.no/viewtopic.php?f=79&t=9314&sid=20a938d71af92d67e43f1ac3be4242cb
Yet, should be "fixeable" I think.

if u install this over another version, it works better

tytn 2 with scandin keyboard
I havent found a solution to my problem.
Keyboard has ä (FN + L) and ö (FN + o).
I updated Rom to Schap's WM6 Pro 4.31 ROMs WWE and then ä and ö keys stopped working! help

Thanks a lot! I'm close to 100% on the keyboard issue.
Ok, this is what I've done:
Installed (in this order)
Scandanavian Keyboard.CAB
-Soft reset
Nordic Keypad Mapping.cab
-Soft reset
XDA_JCEspi2005_Norwegian_Input_Kaiser.cab
-Soft reset
Now the SIP keyboard layout are OK with æøå - working fine. I Had to install XDA_JCEspi2005_Norwegian_Input_Kaiser.cab to get my hardware keyboard right.
This issue remains: Word Completion is still in english. Any fix for that?
Also in Duttys newest ROM, the Touch Keyboard and Touch Keypad are without the Norwegian letters. Any cabs for this?
The Dr.

If you can go with the diamond keyboard try this

Try this: Change Curlang to 414 (414 Hex, 1044 Dec). Search up Curlang in youre register (should be in: HKLM/Hardware/Devicemap/Keybd), Soft Reset. DONE! Youre Keyboard is now supporting ÆØÅ and all the oter keys and so on, just as you were use to on Norwegian Shipped/Stok Roms.

Thanks to you both!
I'll try this as soon as I get my hands on my "test Kaiser" again!
I'll report back.

Swedish hardware keyboard error

I was wondering if anyone can help me with my Swedish hardware keyboard mapping? I downloaded the cooked wm6rom but my keybord doesnt work right on the fn +key. The layout on the orginal swedish keyboard is in this link on page 50 http://www.htc.com/support/pdf/htcty...Manual_web.pdf I want to map my keys as it shows on the link, how shall I do that?
Hi there, I wonder if you've managed to find out what the hex key for swedish is?
I found the list of all languages at: http://www.microsoft.com/globaldev/reference/winxp/xp-lcid.mspx
... and inserted "1053" for swedish, but this didn't help, my hardware keyboard is still messed up. Anyone got another hint?
I beleave i can make a CAB to let you use sweden dictionary and keyboard map correctly...
I'l do when i have some time and post here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1673274&postcount=2

jcespi2005, that would be most kind of you. Many thanks in advance!
Edit: jcespi2005 - I tried with the norwegian keyboard instead, and that did the job! Thank you very much anyhoo.

I have tested it and it does not work, it makes the CurLang value in the registry to 1053, and even though that is Swedish it does not work. My Swedish Tytn II arrived with that value set to 1044 - norwegian bokmål. When setting it to that value it works. So the keyboard does not work, but the dictionary seems to be Swedish and is working So just a small adjustement and it will be fine

hello jcespi2005! can you help with similar problem on keyboard layout. i flashed docomo ht-01a to english rom but keyboard layout is messed up. your help will be much appreciated. thank you in advance.

Would really appreciate this!!

Solution! German Keyboard / "Umlaute" (Fn+Space) working with english 6.1 !!!

Solution! German Keyboard / "Umlaute" (Fn+Space) working with english 6.1 !!!
Ok guys and girls,
the title may sound like i know what I'm doing, but I'm a noob to all of this after all. Still I managed to get the "Umlaut"-function (Fn + Space) working on an english 6.1 ROM. The ROM running my German TYTN II is L26_KaiserDiamond_V9.
Ok, so here's what I did:
1. set Keyboard layout to "German" in AdvancedConfig
2. changed value of registry key HKLM\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\KEYBD\CurLang from 409 to 407
3. installed XDA_JCEspi2005_German_Input_Kaiser.cab (see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=345426)
4. copied the file "sym.0409.txt" (located in DEVICE \Windows), renamed the copy to "sym.0407.txt"
et voilá!
I guess step 4 is what did the trick... even though I still can't believe that the solution was this simple. Someone else give it a try... maybe on a different ROM. Would be cool if this was the definitive solution.
greetings,
cartonneexpress
Yes but it is also important to disable XT9 with KaiserTweak or AdvancedConfig. Otherwise the Fn + Space dose not work for me.

works perfect for me, too

Oh i searched a little while for it but i did not found any useful.
For the hardware keyboard have you tried to change the value of registry key HKLM/HARDWARE/DEVICEMAP/KEYBD/CurLang from 409 to 407
And then HKCU/MUI/CurLang 409 changed to 407 (Hexadecimal).
Then softreset and after that install XDA_JCEspi2005_German_Input_Kaiser.cab
And then softreset again.
In some roms i could not find one of the registry keys but then it was enough to change the other.

then give this one a try. As many different KB layouts as you could wish for, including national characters (although only 2 at a time, switch-able by a key next to R-ALt). @ the mo, I'm using Polish and Norwegian.
NO, I'm not affiliate, just a happy user.
Ah yes, it's NOT free, but at 9.99 PLN (or 2.99 €) anyone can afford it.
And YES, it IS skinnable.

What else can I do than reading and searching ?

Still no solution to change hardware keyboard mapping to azerty for WM 6.5?

Aloha!
Looking through a lot of threads for quite some time but cannot find a hack to switch the hardware keyboard mapping from qwerty to azerty.
The WM 6.1 method doens't seem to work for WM6.5...any ideas?
Thanks a whole lot!!
You tried this?:

Thanks, but that is the WM 6.1 method I think.
There is no such key in my "WM 6.5 by MEDKIT" rom installation.
If I create it and fill in the value still same qwerty mapping.
All help welcome!

Yepp that works fine on 6.5 roms. I used it to switch Joshs 6.5 rom from qwerty to qwertz.
Weird! I tried both:
XDA_JCEspi2005_French_Input_Kaiser.cab and XDA_JCEspi2005_Dutch_Input_Kaiser.cab but my hardware keyboard mapping didn't change at all.
My ROM is MedKit's WM 6.5 rom...
This same method did work on my previous roms though (WM 6.1 and below).
What 6.5 ROM do you people (who succesfully switched hardware keyboard mapping) use?
Maybe I'm going to try another ROM or so.
Thanks a lot for the replies btw!
I used in on medkits and joshs.

The 2 reg keys? Wich ones?
I only know of the CurLang change but in the medkit rom I even had to add a Curlang variable if I wanted to change it.
And which of those 2 ROMs do you prefer? Haven't tried the one from Josh yet but maybe I should.
Vielen dank!
HKCU\MUI\CurLang
HKLM\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\KEYBD\CurLang
It seems to be important to enter decimal values. NOT hex values.
After changing those two keys, softresetting and installing the cab resulting in another softreset I get my qwertz keyboard layout.
And you should really try Joshs rom. Build 21193 is so muich faster than previous ones

Just tried Joshs 21193 and it is indeed very fast.
But since I noticed there's even an 21198 by Anryl I'm flashing again to check that rom's speed. Once I start installing my crap I won't feel like flashing another rom for a few weeks so better make sure to try to have the best rom now.
21198 also is quite fast so sticking to that one. Changed the to reg values which I could find in this rom as opposed to the medit rom I tried yesterday and changing them did fix my hardware keyboard to azerty.
Thanks again for the info and have a nice day!!

Sliding Input as Keyboard (SlideIT, Swype, ShapeWriter)

Hello,
I am looking for a replacement of the build in sw keyboard for my HD2. I liked the idea of sliding over the keyboards.
I found different sliding keyboards - the funny thing is that every company writes something about "patents" and unique
I tried already SlideIT and ShapeWriter, because both are available for testing. But it seems that swype is not available. I suppose it should just be bundled with pdas (e.g. omnia 2)
Now my questions:
- Are there other solutions available?
- How are the chances to have Swype on the HD2?
- I have stability problems with SlideIT on my HD2
(e.g. the screen area for SlideIT are not correctly drawn, and keeps
destroyd...)
Is there someone running SlideIT on the HD2 without problems?
Any other notes are welcome...
Best regards,
stefan

At the moment this is the only thing stopping me making a purchase.
Many Thanks "

on NON-WWE ROMs you have to move the swype folder from your locale program files folder to /Program Files/
Thanks, it works now. Good to know!
All though i didn't find it as useful as i hoped.

It is quiet difficult for the first time users!
I need more practice!
SlideIT
I purchased the slide it keyboard. I fell in love with it from the start. It is working without problems on my HD2. I have noticed the same problem, mentioned earlier, about the landscape typing. It works, but it doesnt look right.
It has increased my text speed at least 50%! It doesn't play well with entering usernames and passwords, however. I find myself changing back to touch input for this.
is there any way to get GERMAN DICTIONARY for swype? because i've only spanisch and english
Swype is pretty interesting... I find myself giggling inside a little every time I *swype* a long word.
Yeah, Swype is pretty good from initial impressions. I've tried slide-it, shapewriter and I find swype's keyboard to be laid out the best (in terms of straight typing and not swiping).
Amazing
I tried SlideIT. It's ok, but I don't like the design and it does not support landscape. That's a deal breaker.
Swipe is my favorite: good design, fast. Unfortunately it's only in Spanish and English....
I am not satisfied with ShapeWriter. It did not recognise most of the words and is only avalaible in Qwerty.
I have WWE 1.43
Why doesn't it work for me?
Its installed in root/Program Files/
I can go to settings > personal > input and its there, but whenever i choose it, it automatically goes back to the default htc keyboard.
You can modify the input with SK Tools or a cab named SIPChange.
Installed th .CAB file that already puts the program in root\program files, but it does not work om my HD2. The only thing I see after enabling Swype, is a black square that fills up the left half of the screen. I'm using Dutch ROM 1.43. Any ideas/suggestions how to get it to work?
regards, Kuzibri
OK, after downloading the .CAB file from different sources, I got it working. First impression: Not much difference with SlideIT, but can be judged only when there is a Dutch dict for Swype. Anyone?
Now I have this error message with SlideIT:
(3)missing lang data!!!
What can I do? Impossible to uninstall/install the cab.
