Hello everyone,
First let me say what a great forums this is, thanks to those who created it and the people here keeping it active.
I been having a problem connecting to my wi-fi at work. Several people who have mac laptops and iphones are able to find the wi-fi and connect right away in my office.
On my ATT Tilt it doesnt locate it. I enter the network id and when the device finds the signal it asks for a network key
Would anyone know why it isn't getting a network key or where can I find the network key to the wi-fi device?
Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

The network detected is a security enabled network and you have to ask the network administrator for the key

Ok Let me Rephrase.
I'm having trouble connecting to Wifi hot spots, it brings me a Message telling me to Please Verify your Network Settings.
How can I verify my network settings?
I tried everything on the Manual, yet I cannot connect to any internet.
Settings/6 Connections/8 Wlan Settings /1 Wifi
hot spots will not connect for me.
The hotspot : menu/edit has these settings:
Network type: Internet
Auth: Open
No encryption
Key is auto
It tries to connect, but gives me that Above Message that I need to verify my settings.
Can somebody Explain or if its already been explained ANYWHERE, Redirect me to that Thread and Site.
Thanks.
Ok do i take this as the people of the forum are Rudely Ignoring me ?

The trouble seems to be with the Wifi Connecting.
It searches and finds hotspots.
Tries to connect and fails and returns a message saying change network settings or something.
It has never connected to wifi....
My Wifi on my samsung has not work at all in the month or two I have had it, I've read everywhere
About these problems but most of them dictate the problem only at home or router issues, I have
family in my house with iphones that connect just fine to our secure wifi network but as expected
mine does not, nor does it connect anywhere. I have already tried to the wifi power saving mode
*#0011# everyone replies thank god it work, but not for me and now im getting a hardware id missing
when i plug my phone into my computer, any suggestions anyone?
Much appreciated!
At work we installed a new WiFi router a few months back. The connection is open and no one needs a password to connect to it. But many who bought android phones recently arent able to connect to it. I have a OnePlus One with android 4.4.4 which doesnt connect to the WiFi. My colleagues own Xiaomi, Motorola phones which they bought recently, which also doesnt connect to the internet.
The phones detect the WiFi signal, says the network is saved but fails to connect to it no matter what. The temporary solution is to make our laptop into a WiFi router and use it but this is seriously annoying. The router is from HP and I dont know the exam model number for it at the moment
I will be grateful if someone can find any solution for this problem. Also, I am a novice when it comes to gadgets so, if your suggestion is to manually set up my WiFi settings please do so with clear instructions or a video of some sort. However I will be happy if this problem gets solved in a straightforward manner.
Please help!

No need to configure wifi on your device IMO.
Sounds like an issue with the wifi router.
To check an fix the internet settings of the wifi router, you will need the adminstrative access/console/password for the router.
Then you can check that all new devices afre allowed to connect. On some routers you can restrict the access to a list of known devices or by enabling a MAC address filtering.
If you find such options on the HP wifi router, disable it and restart the wifi.
And make sure that the SSID of the wifi network is visible (= not hidden). Some Android devices have issue connecting to hidden networks.
Thread closed. Thank you.
This isn't really a problem with my S6, but I wasn't sure where else to ask so hope someone can help!
My work and university both have open wifi networks that I can use to access the internet with my phone. Whenever I connect to an open network I use a VPN for security (TorGuard) but for some reason I can't connect the VPN to either networks. It works fine when I'm on 4G or my home wifi, so think it is something to do with the open networks at work and university.
Any idea what is wrong and how I can get it going? If it isn't doable, are there any other ways I should secure my phone when connecting to an open network?
Many thanks
Hi all, just received my 8T on Friday. I migrated from a Pixel 4XL which was having microphone issues I think. After migration, tried to set up the phone, and I could not get the 8T to connect to my home's WPA2-PSK wifi network to log back into my google account, get OS and app updates, add email accounts, etc. Had to do all that over 4G. Finally discovered by accident that the phone will connect to unencrypted networks like hotspots. Eventually, I run a debug trace on my home wifi infrastructure (Cisco 9130 with embedded wireless controller & other Cisco 3800's) and I can see that the phone connects just fine to "open" network that I created to test with, but as soon as I try to connect to the WPA2 network everything in the house runs on, the entries in the trace stop... meaning the phone isn't even trying to connect to the access point. On the phone, when you click to connect to the secured wifi, you can see the status go from "saved" to "connecting" back to "saved", while the access point sees no connection attempt whatsoever. So it's either software or hardware problem with the phone. Seeing as I've been on at least two different versions of the OS, I suspect hardware.
So my question is this: is anyone else able to connect an 8T to a wifi network that's secured with WPA2 preshared key? Is it just me having trouble? I've been on chat with OnePlus support two different times, now I'm waiting since Sunday for a shipping label for RMA to OnePlus.
Any help greatly appreciated!
